Zaheer being able to help Korra overcome her PTSD even tho he caused it in the first place is wild. Since Zaheer has been in the spirit world for years now, I wonder if he ever interacted with Iroh, I would love to hear the conversations they would have.

1:13:49 - I think that's literally the point tho; Korra being caught up in what happened or what might have happened is the very thing she has to move past! Like it's not about her accepting what happened as a way to forgive Zaheer or absolve him of his wrongdoing; it's about her accepting what happened so that the past stops having the hold that it still has on her...

korra's recap of her whole journey in ep 8 hits different after watching the first 3 episodes of avatar: seven havens. it made me tear up a little lol. im so excited to see ur reactions to the new series ><

some extra info on the recap episode, the studio was under constraints by nickelodeon. they faced budget cuts during production which was equal to that of an entire episode. in order to finish the full ordered 13 episode season, Bryke (co creators) opted to do the clip show to save on what budget they had instead of laying off their staff in the face of those cuts. Bryke’s original plans for ep 8 were a backstory on Kuvira, a story which was later adapted into the comics.

I was looking for this. I thought I remembered something like this, but didn't remember confidently enough to comment. They really made the best if that they had - and I mean, obviously we want a "proper" episode - but if a show's gotta have a recap, I want them to do something fun or interesting like this.

Exactly. Accepting that yes, it happened. yes, it did suck, and yes it was his fault, and he's terrible for it. They're all true, and if she wants to carry on (and bravo for her persistence, I think she had the right to just say "not my problem anymore, I've suffered enough"), she needs to accept that all those things happened - and that she survived.
