Sketch - The first draft (all the pages of the comic have already been sketched) is one of the most important phases, together with the previous one that are the drafting of the subject and the script. These steps serve to immediately set the rhythm of the shots and the structure of the pages, giving the comic a clear, natural and engaging sense of reading.Oh yes, in the draft I do everything in Italian, so sorry for the language ^^ '

Definitive Sketch - Here I have not made major changes, but usually, when I go to define the sketches, it happens that something must be revised and modified to make it better

Lineart - In this phase (and until the final phase) I still didn't clear the style to be used for the texts! 😱

Flat Coloring - The window was difficult to do ... I wanted to give the feeling of blinding light but in the end I was satisfied with the result ^^

Shadows and Highlights - For shadows and lights I used 2 fixed colors, one in multiply and one in Dodge color, which I will use throughout the comic (except in some shots where the armosfere will change).<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>

What i like most it's the way you study the lights and colors, it's amazing the combination of those withe the inking, that give the correct push to the scene!

AWWW thank you dude! I am not very good with the inking but the lights I can pull them out well hahaha

What is your shading technique ? I'm curious about your technique.

Black Lion21

In this case, I use a flat layer set to Multiply, clipped over the base colors of the characters, with a soft pink tone (#E2BAD0). On top of that, I paint the highlights on a layer set to Color Dodge, using an olive-brown shade (#6B5B39). ^^
