Hey everyone! I have had some readers express a desire to only receive updates for one of my stories, and I've had the idea of splitting out my tiers so that you can support only the story you like. I'm sure this would be a no-brainer if that meant I would decrease the price, but I feel like my current pricing is on par with most of the other authors in the genre (and outside it), even if I were only posting one story. I haven't changed my pricing since I started writing seriously in 2020.Ideally, I'd like to phase out the two tiers, resulting in a slight price savings for current T3 supporters, unless you want both stories, in which case, you'd end up paying slightly more. Here's what I had in mind:T1 Supporter - $3 (no extra chapters, just someone who wants to throw me a few bucks and stay up to date on my writing news)

T2 Fantasy/Apocalypse - $8 (25 extra chapters)T2 Sci-fi/Cyberpunk - $8 (25 extra chapters)T3 Plum's Omnibus - $12 (everything I post, including new stories as I prep them for launch)This would be good for me to gauge a story's popularity (unless everyone just chooses the Omnibus), and it would maybe reduce spam for those of you not interested in more than one story. It would, however, create problems with Discord integration, and I don't know how to fix it. I don't know if the bot will automatically change people's status on the Discord server based on new tiers (I doubt it) -- which could be a huge headache. This is what has kept me from changing anything in the past.

Honestly, don't care I have tried every series so far, so I'll stick with the top tier, but I can see if people come for one series and don't care for others, they'd only want to pay for what they want. IMO you are pretty cheap despite the great quality stories you are writing!

Laurent Jerry

Yes plz. I dont care about the other stories

Kuraido .

Splitting the 8$ tier is a bit harsh

Neal Mayne

Honestly you're current pricing is competitive with most authors I follow and quite a bit cheaper then a few 20 dollars a month for the top tier is not that uncommon for 25 chapters ahead.

I don't mind. I'm waaay behind on Andy so I'm mostly just listening to it occasionally on RR because it's slightly more convenient. I'm not sure I'll listen to it on Patreon though, even when I do catch up and even if it were included. I'm still following Aura on here. Patreon added a reader mode, but it's a joke. Doesn't even have a scrollbar. I'm using the PDFs. Without them, I don't think I'd be following it here either. I recently cut my Patreon subscriptions by half because of 💸 concerns. I won't be getting the Omnibus tier... at least not this year.

I enjoy everything you write, so there’s not going to be a change for me. I do worry about the extra stress and limitations of trying to sort your stories. What if you get inspired to write something like Falling with Folded Wings, or Vainglory again. Both are a sci-fi/ fantasy mix, and aren’t so easily sorted. I love the way you mix genres, and would hate to see you constrain yourself in such a way.

Crescent Sunrise

I say keep it as is. If it really is gonna be a legitimate issue dealing with the discord backend, I say people can handle an email notification they aren't interested in.

Plum Parrot

I mean, there's the omnibus for 12 (only 2 dollars more than currently)

Aureus

I don't mind either even though I only read one story.

Sacredwisp

Not entirely sure, but I'd be leaning towards leaving everything for 10$. That's pretty much the standard pricing for most other stories, and most others only have a single story. That makes your offer more competitive. There's also the cross-pollination between your stories. I originally subbed for Victor, and when I was looking for something to read, decided to give Cyber Dreams a shot since I was already on the patreon for it, even if I've never read cyberpunk, and ended up liking it even more. I also gave Andy a shot and Aura Overload is on my shortlist for next books to read in the next few weeks. I don't know how many others are like me though.

Omar Jimenez

Strongly agree. I subbed for Victor, but stayed because Plum is just that good of an author. But I don’t know that I would have read Vainglory, Cyber Dreams, or Neon Dust without them already being available.

DM

I would pay more in general ‘cause your writing is outstanding ;)

You could double the price and I'd still take it and call it a good deal, all your stories are fuckin awesome and I genuinely don't mind whatever you do cos I'm talking whatever the highest tier is!! That being said though, I have seen some other Patreon authors that split memberships on individual stories adding and removing memberships as they start/complete stories... I'm not currently subbed to them cos they finished the one story I was following and that should tell you what you need to know about reader retention right there! Sure perhaps more ppl will come by for an individual story, but then they'll drop once it's done. I'm sure you've thought about it as well, but honestly besides the retention issue, it just seems like a hassle lol Either way, whatever you do, I'm staying!!!

Brayden

I wouldn’t mind if you changed tiers around but I like reading all your stories and only having to worry about one subscription

Brayden

I second this statement

CallMeTee

I think switching the pricing model is a disservice to you, and a disservice to your readers. Any time you increase your pricing much above $10, you start to get into competition with a lot more forms of entertainment, and even bumping to $12 is an extra $24/year. That's almost 2.5 months of support another author at $10, and I can say for sure that I wouldnt get the omnibus tier and it would affect whether or not I end up starting and continuing with Andy. In comparison, adding a ton of role management to your day takes away from your ability to write, for no value add on your end (you're increasing your managerial load for a loss in income). I would much rather deal with extra notifications, remain at $10/mo, and have you spend your time and effort writing the stories I'm enjoying and not having to do additional discord bullshit.

StuBee3

While I read all your stories, if you changed it I’d likely switch to just reading Aura here and read Andy on RR.

Mariposa

Personally, its easier for me to swipe away the notification of a story I'm not reading than it is for you to manage multiple tiers. Also, I like getting access to your other stories.

Kullen Montgomery

It would be better to leave it, if you seperate stories the way your talking then Id prob un-sub, cos I wouldnt be able to read about Andy and Aura Overload at the same time, unless I wanna pay extra

Rook

I’d likely switch to paying for Andy only as Aura hasn’t caught my interest. It’s already a bit of a hard sell to pay for 50% content I don’t read. Certainly wouldn’t pay more to keep it. Good luck with whatever you decide though, hope it works out well.

Matt Rubinstein

I read all your stories and will continue to do so

Chris

I read all the stories and I like the current setup. I'm just one guy, but I kind of think Patreon is the place to support the author, not necessarily a single story.
