I did that silly thing I do when I am overly confident in my time management skills. I tried to do 3 pages at once... here's just one, though. Only five pages left in the chapter, but I'm probably going to take it easy this week because I apparently have a ton of relatives I haven't seen in years coming down for Thanksgiving and I'm supposed to make like 5 dishes for it. I might work some on Friday but I probably won't do much for the rest of the week. I did find some older art I might share, it's an early concept of the bonus comic at the end of Volume 2! So that will go up Friday if I'm not able to get anything else done.

December will be me mostly making merch for the Kickstarter and getting that ready. So after Chapter 4 is finished I'll have a few weeks of mostly making illustrations over comic pages. My patreon patrons will be the ones to get the first look at all the merch, which should be fun.

I struggled to adapt this page! Normally I would just flip a page, but I made some odd choices with the original black and white version that slowed the "flow" down. Instead of using the direction of the characters to dictate the flow, I think I leaned more into the dialogue balloons guiding the reader. This was certainly a more comedic page but I also found myself not liking some of the humor from when this came out (the Retarma line, for example, was an inside joke an old friend made for the character, but it did not age well at all and would likely offend someone today if I left it in). I ended up changing quite a bit of dialogue, and part of it was to fill up some dead space caused by the new page format/size requirements.

Turning this comic into a full-color series is more than just flipping and tracing my older work, haha.

You can really see how much dead space are in some of these panels without the dialogue balloons. Anyway, this is lineart!

Silhouettes!

Flat colors!

Shadows!

Gradations and highlights!

Patterns and textures!

Text and sound effects! I had to nudge the characters a bit to fit everything in and I made some silly choices. Ready to move on from this page, haha.
