Chapter 5 Reboot, Page 3 (Patreon)

Sorry this is a little late! My kid's school closed this week due to winter weather, my husband is on a work trip, and I'm juggling two other projects that will, luckily, be ending very soon. Once I'm done with this I'll go back to doing two pages a week for at least the rest of Chapter 5 and then I will be focusing on finishing up bonus artwork for FaLLEN Vol. 1's release. I will probably be able to post the t-shirt I am designing for a local convention next week, at least, and one or two more pages before the end of February from Ch. 5.

This page took a while because of that school background art! Even though much of it is covered up with caption boxes and panels, I did draw the whole thing so that I could reuse it in future pages and make alterations easily to fit the narrative.

Keen observers may notice a canonical change; the school is no longer Angel Falls Elementary. I have actually changed the town name to Ash Haven, since Angel Falls is the same name as a very famous waterfall and is also a bit too on the nose with the "fall" references.

I could see myself making tweaks before I publish the book, but I'm going to go ahead and move forward! (I made some tweaks just in writing this post heh)

The original black and white page! I was able to find a building VERY similar to the old school building I drew in the original, so I decided to update the school design to one of the buildings from my old college in Savannah, Georgia. A lot of the buildings in this story are actually based on/stolen from the architecture in Savannah.

Text! Dialogue! Sound effects! But I did see a few mistakes and quickly changed them while creating this post, haha.

This chapter is fun because it's short but shows a lot of interactions between the girls, including the ones who haven't transformed yet, so even without having names you will already get a good sense of what kind of characters they are.

I hope I can knock it out quickly. Volume 2 starts Chapter 6 and it's got lots of things happening, new monsters, new friends... Can't wait!
