Hey everyone. It’s been... hoo-boy. A rough couple of months for me. I did start working a bit last week and this week I worked on a gift illustration for my boyfriend for Christmas. I would have posted process photos sooner but he’s also a longtime patron on here and I did not want him to see! He has now seen it and gave me permission to post, so here we go!

This is the rough sketch. My artist roommate Heidi pointed out I was still in Japan mode with my word balloon placement, etc, so I flipped the image in the next stage. I think I drew his face and such better on this one but I was using a VERY limited number of resources to make this (none of my stuff has arrived from Japan yet...)

Flipped! Used multiliners from high school cuz that is all I’ve got  😬

A little clearer here, semi cleaned up.

Almost done! Used my roommate’s Prismacolor markers, which are not brush tipped and were not what I was used to. The skin tone I used was titled “buff” which is basically perfect.

Finished! No scanner yet so I took a photo, but the lap table I used to draw this on made for a nice frame. I RARELY draw art for gifts, but he seemed to enjoy this.

News

I am working again, but with very limited resources as I mentioned before, so it has taken me a while to get set up. I am working on a few manga review videos as well as artwork (I should have another piece to post after Christmas) but I know there has not been much activity from me on here since I moved to the US. To make up for it, I will be waiving Patreon fees for 3 months, starting in January. You will still be able to see posts but you won’t be charged. This will also be a good time for non-patrons to join and get a preview for what is to come.

This is my Christmas gift to you guys! You have been amazing for supporting me this long, and I did lose quite a few of you when I announced the next chapter would be in full color. I will basically be starting over in a lot of ways in 2021, and I want to start the new year on the right foot.

Thank you for your patience, as always.
