This page took a little longer! Now that we are out of the cave we have a few more elements... more background work, highlights (because there's now a light source), and soon Arma's going to be back in clothing.

Behind The Scenes

Every panel was ripped from the previous incarnation of FaLLEN, though I rearranged them so more would fit on one page. Even still, there was lots of work to be done.

Inking...

Finished inking, added panels, added dialogue and thought balloons.

Did some flat colors and some silhouettes for bases. I also added the speed lines in the top panel-- those are my original  hand inked lines from the b/w version, actually. 

More colors...

Added shadows...

Did a bit more on Arma, added some lighting effects, gradation, etc etc.

More fine tuning. Added a really great moon texture that was exactly what I wanted. Made a lot of adjustments to the top panel, added a pattern to the gown on the branch.

Put a bit more into the bottom two panels. 

Added the sound effect at the top and some blush to Arma's skin. I think that's it. I'm not, like, in love with my backgrounds but it's not something I'm used to doing in color. Hopefully I'll get better with practice!
