Chapter 2 Reboot, Pages 2-4 (Patreon)

Wanted to get these up a few days sooner but, you know... life... but I got them done before the weekend at least. Three pages instead of the usual two.

Even though I put more effort with the line art for the background, I tried not go over-overboard with colors. I'm still learning to do this in color! haha

Behind The Scenes

I don't know why but I am not able to find the screenshots I took of the first few steps. Here are the thumbnails as I posted before (ignore #5 for now). I don't know that it matters though because I did not work much from a separate sketch for these. Some parts of the art I traced artwork I had previously done for the original black and white version or recycled some art from Chapter 1. But most of this was, oddly enough, one-take lineart. 

The lineart was more fun than I thought it would be.  I did the entire line art in one go instead of drawing the characters first, like I used to do with traditional art and like I did for much of Chapter 1. Maybe this part I am starting to prefer to do digitally.

Silhouettes! It really helps me to separate the art with base colors I can easily select.

Final product! Adjusted character linework, added sound effects, added blush, etc. 

The insanity that was July has finally come to an end! I'm so excited to work on the next batch of pages. I probably won't do three at a time (or more) anymore because this was kind of a pain. I'll be spreading out the updates from now on to be just one page at a time, but with more frequency.
