On the eve of the Coming Out dinner, Emily confronts the full reality of her brother's transformation, while Josie prepares for a mission that could free them all—or cost them everything.

Sorry that this is late, everyone. I'm still a little behind this month, but I also wanted to take my time to make sure this episode was as good as possible. I think it's an important one. Thank you so much for your support! 💕

P.S. I've also attached Josie and Emily's 'dramatis personae' files in case you need a refresh on their characters!

Calm before the storm? I don’t know why, but this scene left me with a sense of foreboding.

Ellen Mellor

Romance in the terror... Perfection. That picture of their hands holding is wonderful.

Jack & Jill (& Half Sisters) is what got me to join your Patreon, & I'm always excited to read another episode. More good character development going on here.

Beautifully sensitively written dialogue sneaking up between Josie and Emily. I love the romantic moment that you created in what would seem to be originally an unlikely coupling. The first part of this chapter, once again, puts the pieces on the chest board. Setting the scene before the action packed next phase to follow. I also liked how this episode also alerted Emily to harsh realities she will have to confront around her ‘changed brother,’ and the new role she may need to undertake to nurture and support Jill even if everything goes to plan. Visually magical. Your art work is so realistic, even the simple subtle close up tattoo on Josie’s arm with a hint of fine feminine hairs on her arm. Josie and Emily both look so attractive and will make a beautiful couple. I do hope we get to see more intimate sexual interactions between the two of them.

This was so good. What happened to Emily’s husband, it’s been a while and I can’t remember. I know they were changing him too but don’t remember from there

2026-09-14 23:00 One thing, emily has only crush for people who knows use big calibre ^^. What happened to emily? You change her face so much. But i thing I like her more like that. Could be fun karma that the next chapitre 'll be about Connor situation.🥰

Emory, I have gone over the chapter a couple of times now looking for hints and clues you have planted. I have turned up very little. I noticed the room's artwork is Asian, but that may simply be a reflection of Xu's taste. I did catch what I thought were some humorous features in two of the panels. On page two of the pdf the sign on the side of Bldg 6 that reads "Clinic 12 Resort and Spa" almost had me do a "spit-take". If that is not a colossal euphemism! Or possibly irony, as while invited visitors may be getting pampered in the "resort" above on the hill, down below in "Level 1" men are being tortured and mutilated. Treatment very far from a "spa day"! The second is page 17 with the two low ball glasses with the Second Dawn logo on them. How “James Bond” villainish. Nothing like advertising a secret facility on an isolated island turning men into women by having your own branded merch. 😂 But I tell you, I think you might have something with the Clinic 12 Merch! Add the tumblers to the Second Dawn yoga and active wear line, and don't forget Nikki's Episode 64 pinup "Ask me about Clinic 12" gold lettering black female cut V-neck T-shirt. Add a few more quality items along with some bumper stickers, magnets, key chains and bottle openers (Maybe a beer bottle opener that turns into a wine bottle opener? 😉), and I think you might have a secondary income line. 💵 I mean, who in your fan base would not want to lounge about at home in their Clinic 12 sports bra and booty shorts while reading stories from the Xuniverse? 😂 And my only other observation is that it looks like Emily's face may have thinned out a bit. But in so doing I think it makes her and Jill look more like sisters. I only really saw this flipping back and forth between pages 13 and 14 of the pdf. It made it very clear Emily and Jill are related. Kind of in the same way Nikki in "Half Sisters" is looking more and more like a young Mary Palmer.

And as usual Emory you have me on pins and needles waiting for the action to begin. You teased us with glimpses a few hours or days in the future and so we know some people are hurt, maybe even kill. What is going to happen when the Larsen Family finally all meet up? Will they all make it out aliive? Will Jill go home with her family or stay behind to fulfill her promise to Xu to reform New Dawn? Will Emily and Jesse stay behind with her to help? Will we see any of Jill's crossover with Half Sisters in the final Season of Jack & Jill? So many questions and not enough answers yet. But a wonderful and utterly engaging story nonetheless.

Ahh I loved this chapter so much!! Josie being in the spotlight made my day! You know she’s my absolute fav. And I’m so here for this new couple — totally supporting this! You nailed it again, Emory!

Jade Diaz

I keep not so subtly telling Emory to sell merch. Maybe some day she'll listen to us...

The establishing shot and the night time vista out the window are some of my favorite low-light panels you've made. They're so incredible and very realistic. Top notch.

SingularCurve

Yes please do approach the "bench" LOL

A deceptively calm interlude and the calm before the storm, in which Emily and Josie tentatively and gently create the seeds of their relationship. It’s beautifully drawn and the dialogue is both sweet and mature, making for a perfect chapter, and the last few frames provide a perfect romantic closure. I bet you enjoyed writing this one, Emory.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Robert! I loved writing this "quiet" scene between Emily and Josie. I wanted to carve out that space for connection and vulnerability right before the inevitable storm breaks. Emily has been relentlessly driven, consumed by her mission to save Jack, while Josie is doing her best to navigate her own survival. But that doesn't mean there isn't time for a little smooching. 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much for noticing, Jade! 💖 They took me way too long, but I think it was worth it.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Maggie! More melty to come? We will see. 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Josie is one of my favorites, too, Ella. She has gone through so much!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Diana! Anticipation of what's to come can hopefully be almost as thrilling as the event itself. The Larson family, in all its fractured pieces, is certainly heading for a significant moment. How will they navigate that, especially given everything Jill has become?

Emory Ahlberg

Diana, you have a keen eye for little details - and so does Jade! That's why I love to plant little easter eggs when I can. I love yours and Jade's merchandise ideas. Perhaps a line of "Venus Code" certified beauty products?? 😁

Emory Ahlberg

Hm, maybe it's her different hair? She is the same character model as always! But I'm glad you like her!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Jessika - I fit in as many nerdy references as I can without going overboard lol

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Kirsten! Nolwenn is right - Connor / Connie is still on the island and is going through a very swift (surgically aided) transition...

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Gemma! I find the bond forming between Josie and Emily so fun to explore. I think the crucible of their shared mission and the vulnerability they find in each other is creating a powerful attraction. For Josie, who has been through so much betrayal and physical alteration, Emily’s determination and intellectual strength offer an unexpected anchor. And for Emily, steeped in law and order, Josie's resilience and honesty in the face of trauma provide a grounding force. Plus they're both really hot, lol. That scene with Emily confronting her brother's new reality on the TV was kind of pivotal. She’s been so focused on the 'rescue,' on the idea of restoring Jack, that the permanence and depth of Jill’s transition is now forcing her to begin grappling with a much more complex future. At least, that's what she SHOULD be doing... I'm so glad the visual details hit for you, too! I worked hard on them. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so, so much Kris! More to come very soon.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Ellen... Touch is obviously really powerful. I wanted to give the sense that Josie was really nervous and hesitant about talking to Emily about this, so the result was a wonderful surprise. 😊
