Hi everyone!

Quick update on Taylor Made: I'm on track for a release tomorrow, but it will only include the expanded Chapter 2. I was too ambitious with my timeline, but I've added significant story content and new artwork to this version that I'm really excited to share with you. 😊

Chapter 3 is already written and will be released in early May, with Chapter 4 following later in the month.

I also wanted to get your feedback on formatting choices. For this project, I've used colored dialogue (unlike Anywhere but Boring and Fertility Rites) and implemented a black background to create a "dark mode" effect.

But is that easy to read? Since your opinions matter most, I've created different versions, and I'd love to hear what you think about these formatting choices.

Which do you like best?

Option 1 (Original) - Black background, white text, colored dialogue:

Option 2 - Pale yellow background, black text, colored dialogue:

Option 3 - Black background, gray text, no colored dialogue

Option 4 - Black background, gray text, softer dialogue colors

I have very strong opinions about this. Black with grey text and soft dialog is The One True Pairing. Fight me!

im coming for u in the marketplace of ideas (my idea is that 1 is better)

Option 4 is the best for my tired eyes ❣️

Allan Kim

I chose Option4, because it is comfortable to read. On the otherhand, when many characters are on the scene, It might be difficult to distinguish each character. Option1 is also understandable.

Black background would mean I won't be reading it. Pale yellow BG with black text and no dialog colors would be best for reading. I've been choosing colors and fonts in comics and webpages since 1976, black on soft yellow or soft white is just the BEST reading experience. Nearby colored dialog simply distracts the eye.

Emory Ahlberg

My hope is that the colored dialogue helps make dialogue easily identifiable and helps with the 'voice' for characters - but I know you have a lot of experience, Erin!

Gemma

Option 2, the pale yellow background. The different colours also further help identify different characters. Also, as I have found in previous stories the changes in colour, such as when characters dialogue changed from dark to pink and other pastel colours, helped highlight shifts from masculine registrar in voice to more feminine tones.

My eyes are old, and my vision damaged, they are also very very light sensitive. I prefer the original but I know Im an anomaly. Gotta love the blue eyes that are more adapted to the dark of night than the light of day. Stepping out on a normal sunny day like we had in Chicagoland today was blinding for me, with after images once I got inside. This is why I love polarized sunglasses, they help a lot.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you for the feedback, Singular. I'm so sorry your vision has been hurt... I'll try to find a way everyone can read the story comfortably!

Its just the hazards of working outside most of my life.
