Hey, amazing patrons! First, a huge thank you for your continued support.

Here are Taylor's "pinups" - but this art isn't just for looking at - it's for voting!

That's right. In the next chapter, Taylor is going to find himself in a situation he is profoundly unprepared for: a date. Actually, a couple of them! And like a true bestie, Abigail is going to insist on having a say in what he wears.

This is where you come in. You get to play Abigail.

These are four potential outfits, two for each of the dates. Your vote in the poll tomorrow will decide which one Taylor wears for his big nights out.

Trying to imagine Taylor’s mom looking at these pictures and weighing in. I mean, Abigail is probably pushing for anything with sheer panels and fishnets…

I've not been this excited for a story since The Catch/Anywhere But Boring. Your storytelling is really great and I'm excited to read more! 😍

Andre

I can tell right now, both number 1 pics are the winners. Number 2 makes her look like a housewife from the 1950's.

Emory Ahlberg

Ah, but only the second option puts Taylor in a dress hehe

Tim

I agree with your initial reaction, Andre, but I'm not sure those would both be Taylor's and Abigail's choices. Outfit #1 for her coffee date with Maya looks good—it's similar to Taylor's look when Maya first noticed him in the crowded Target checkout lines and would be equally as effective this coming Saturday to help hold Maya's attention. However, I'm sure Taylor would be much more comfortable and at ease on Sunday with outfit #2, and it far better projects the seriously intelligent underclassman look Will would be expecting from someone like Taylor. Abigail, too, would likely prefer outfit #2, if for no other reason than the cut of that blouse far better emphasizes what Abigail views as Taylor's two best physical assets. But, we'll soon see what the voting brings.

Andre

You may be right. To me, Taylor doesn't want the attention in the first place and her two best assets would due just that. I believe she would feel better in pants, to outset anything girly. Besides, both option 2, like I said, makes her look like a housewife and she too young for that.

Maggie Heels

I can only say this... WHY you chose so long skirts??? They're way too long for young Taylor... 🙃

Maggie Heels

Love skirts in general but this time I'm voting for 1st and 3rd... 😅

Gravity Always Brings Me Down 🧗‍♀️👩‍🤝‍👩👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩 🙆

Poor Taylor isn't ready for short dresses! 😉

Andre

Come on. At this point in her life, she's not ready for dresses at all. Maybe in her junior year. ☺️

Gemma

It is a tough one. Whilst I usually would prefer dresses the choice of skirt options look to matronly for the young Taylor. Maybe Taylor might feel safer with these skirt this options? I like others have suggested, wish she wore something that still could be seen as modest but is a bit shorter and more aligned with what a young girl would wear. Maybe some cute peasant dresses options. I guess I’m revealing my taste bias. I am surprised, however, that Abigail selected such modest blouse skirt options.

Kris Greg

I want the gravity t-shirt.

Robertlouis

How come you and I are always so close on our opinions, Gemma? It’s almost spooky!

Robertlouis

Sorry Em, but I’m going to disregard your initial suggestions altogether and just go with the jean /trouser combinations. Why? If the skirt choices are to be seen as in any way realistic, it has to be as the result of a very long battle that Abigail ultimately lost. I mean, seriously, they’re just one step up from being a nun. Entirely sexless. Stylish in that odd 50s way but not sexy unless you have that 50s comic book kink. No, I’ve gone for the trousers in both cases, with the gravity teeshirt for the Steve date, even though the overall ensemble is sexier than the other one - after all, she knows Steve a lot better and can afford to take risks with him. And of course, the teeshirt will appeal hugely to his inner nerd. The other outfit is admittedly less sexy, but Taylor’s only encounter with Maya, despite all the flirty texting, was fleeting and hesitant to say the least, so something more conservative is probably wiser, although she could probably get away with the gravity teeshirt combo on both dates. If Maya saw her in her 50s mom look I reckon she’d run for the hills and never be seen again. And yes, I realise I’ve called Taylor her for the first time.

Crewchick

Wow! I did not know Taylor was Mennonite!?!

Jade Diaz

Who tf is Steve?

Helena Grace

I really appreciate the variety of choices here. Especially becuase Taylor will likely be borrowing all or parts of whatever she wears for her dates. My favourite overall is the Gravity shirt, it's really cute. The other outfits all work for different reasons. Taylor is going on a date with a boy for the first time. This is completely new territory and she's just getting used to being Girl Taylor in public. Something demure, something safe makes perfect sense. Unlike the dress she wore to her MIT dinner, Mom isn't there for support and safety. Yes, she looks like it's her Sunday church clothes, but I don't see that as a bad thing.

Gemma

I’d like to say ‘great minds think alike,’ but feel that idiom does not totally apply to me.

SingularCurve

Gravity is my first choice. Physics major with a Gravity Pun is totally on brand for any Physics major. (Im a former Physics major). Second choice is the sheer top with red pants because of the emo/goth vibe it is giving.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so so so much! I'm loving my chance to tell Taylor's story!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Hel! You know I have my own secret opinions.... but we align!

Jade Diaz

Yeah, seriously! Forget forced feminization, what about forced merchandizing? Truly hot!
