Okay, I changed my mind slightly! Instead of dividing between Will and Maya, you'll now vote for your favorite two.

Outfit 1 - Punk Rock Physicist

This look is a perfect paradox, just like Taylor.

Abigail's Take: "YES! Nerdy is the new hot. And those fishnets are a little 'fuck you' and a lot 'look at me.' We are showing midriff, people! I'm obsessed."

Outfit 2 - The Reserved Scholar

A more conservative and preppy approach.

Abigail's Take: "Okay, but look at how that top fits. It's saying 'I'm a good girl,' but your body is saying '...for now.' The tension is palpable. I need a glass of water."

Outfit 3 - The Bold Contradiction

The most fashion-forward and daring option.

Abigail's Take: "JUST TRUST ME. We're deploying the big guns. Your body is a wonderland, and it's time you gave someone a ticket to the show. It's sexy, it's edgy, and the cargo pockets mean you can carry snacks."

Outfit 4 - The Classic

A departure into classic femininity.

Abigail's Take: "I'm not even kidding, you look... genuinely beautiful. Like, Disney-princess-who-also-knows-calculus beautiful. If they don't fall head over heels for this, they have no soul and you should block their number immediately."

3 is a fire look, but I don't think anyone could convince Taylor to show that much midriff at this stage of their story.

I love all 4 outfits, but 1 & 3 are the best to me. I voted for 3, but Taylor is nowhere near ready to wear that outfit. I do think that she could easily be gotten into 1.

I went 1 and 4. I think Maya is very aware of ‘Taylor’s assets,’ so I thought outfit no 1 fits for her. With Will, the more modest but still pretty feminine look of outfit no 4 would be appropriate and aligned with the interactions they have to date had together.

Quick someone call 9-11 we have a fashion emergency! 🚨 Someone please take Taylor to Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Saks, Macy's, J. Crew, Brandy Melville, Athropologie, Urban Outfitters, Mango, Lululemon, Rowing Blazer, LA Relaxed, Pink Lilly, Figs ans Willow, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Zara, American Eagle, H&M, even Sheen for something trendy and cheap. I know Taylor is on a tight budget but she can do better than this. Number one is the best, but lose the fishnet. It is trying too hard to be edgy especially under a geek T. Nice move knotting it though This is a Saturday morning coffee date, not a Friday night going to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Loose distressed jeans, check. Loose crop or baby-doll t (knotting will do if it show mid-drift), check. she needs s pair of white retro tennies, like Vejos. She also need dark sunglasses. Again something retro like Wayfarers are always classic. And since it is summer maybe a baseball cap. Something plain and light colored. But in Boston a Sox cap goes with everything. But Emory, it is still summer! Put the girl in a tennis skirt and tank top. Yeah, I know, totally sorority row, but it is totally the look right now. The hair looks beautiful but it does not go with any of the outfits. It scream twenty something Sporty Spice professional. You know, the corporate girl who ran track in college, still works out at lunch time every day and runs 5 and 10 Ks for fun on the weekends, when she is not hanging out with her friends in the Hamptons. That hair shops at Talbots or Saks! The only thing it is missing is the Mikimoto pearl necklace and earrings (no not that one! Get your mind out of the gutter 😉).

OMG, thank you for this! I love this whole fashion breakdown. It's so much fun to see someone get this invested in Taylor's look. Honestly I have to say Taylor's fashion "sense" reminds me a lot of my own early transition, where I found so much safety in androgyny before I was ready for anything else. It's a bridge. For Taylor, that androgynous, slightly butch look is a space where he can feel powerful without feeling like he's in full drag, which is what a more traditionally feminine outfit would feel like to him right now.

I think part of the problem I have with the outfits is the lack of accessories. But I guess Taylor getting her ears pierced is still several episodes ahead of us. An I am sure Taylor as yet could care less about necklaces and bracelets, fashion belts, scarves, or any other accessories.
