I might have a guess how Ben could help

Bella Lime

Damn nice. Wish I could make that white blouse and blazer combo work

Gemma

So beautiful. The words, the passion and the deep love Kris feels for Alan. The images of Kris are so amazing, she is so beautiful, her face looks so pretty and expressive in all the images. I particularly loved the way her face lite up upon greeting and been seen recognised and embraced by Alan. His response to Kris, his kiss in all of these latter images are just so wonderful and heart warming. Thanks for such a touching, romantic episode that has brightened my day.

The art is gorgeous. But the story? Breathtaking. I’m completely enraptured.

I really Kris' blue dress. She very happy of being part Alan's life again. I was wondering what does Kris meant that Ben's men took Kris away part. Did this happened when she had sex with the rich guy from earlier in the story?

I absolutely agree with Gemma - this episode is all about Kris’s facial expressions, and the way you’ve caught them in the various degrees of light and shade has been masterful, serving above all to display the classic planes of her face and the changing emotions that it wears, In the early images it’s all about dogged determination and resolve, with some frustration, but the steeliness never goes. And then, even after she’s tracked Alan down and finally sees him in the aquarium, she still hangs back, until it’s Alan who spots her reflection behind him. It really is one of THE great romantic reunions, and your images do it full justice, Ahhh. And then we have to turn back again to Detective Benji, surely the densest copper ever to wear a badge, who might have heard Kris’s story but still hasn’t listened to a single word. The challenge she puts to him will surely strain his single one-directional brain cell beyond breaking point. Yes, he’s still struggling desperately to hang on to his old friend and steadfastly refuses to accept Kris’s new reality, but he must realise that his stubbornness has gone past the point of not helping to becoming actually destructive to their relationship. Great episode in every sense, Emory, but the artwork is absolutely breathtaking. xx

Yep, images 21 to 28 are pure delight. ❤️

Kris looks good with long hair!

Kris Greg

You're good at the buildup & cliffhanger. Now I have to wait. At least I know that another episode of Jack & Jill is coming soon!

Maggie Heels

Oh... hey... Kris.. I have even better idea... are you interested??? 😁😁😁 Soooo... the idea is... the replacement is near you... like very near... what do you think? Emory... this story is awesome AF... ❣️❣️❣️

Jade Diaz

Dumdum Ben: I don’t need to hear your fantasies Kris: too bad, you’re going to anyway

SingularCurve

Maggie, I think I am picking up what you are putting down!

Crystal Peaches

This really is next level story telling and art. engrossing emotional mysterious. Enory you're the best at telling stories with characters that we care about.

Sven Sture

Soooooo good. Just found your great work a few days again, and spent the last days on catching up on the story. Amazing, artwork, storyline, writing, everything. Can't wait for the continuation of this story, and to catch up and read your other work. Soooo GOOD. <3

Emory Ahlberg

You moved fast, Sven! I love it! Thank you so much! Can't wait for you to enjoy the rest of the content. ☺️

Emory Ahlberg

LOL - I know what you mean. Kris annoyingly has the kind of charisma that makes almost any outfit work.

Bella Lime

lol. It’s frustrating. Once again, “ must not be jealous of computer model…”

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Gemma! That reunion was one of the most important scenes for me to write because it’s really the heart of Kris's story. After years of being an object and then weeks of feeling like a ghost, to be seen and embraced with such warmth is like being brought back to life.

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Tiki! The dress was a little nod to Alan calling her "Ariel" when she wasn't allowed to speak. As for your question about the timeline, the part Kris is recounting to Benji right now is from the time period before anyone knew she was back. She's explaining that during that time, to fulfill her deal with Bella and find a replacement, she went out (after being with Alan for months) to find her replacement. The moment the police "took her away" was when they arrested her for solicitation. For Benji, it was a rescue. For Kris, it was the catastrophic interruption of her plan...and more. You'll learn more soon!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Robert! Kris’s grit is something I really wanted to convey. Christopher was a gentle soul, but Kris was forged in a crucible. She had to become unbreakable to survive, and that resolve is now a fundamental part of who she is. As for Benji, I see him as a man drowning in guilt. He’s not just dense (although he's that too), but he’s also blinded by his own failure. He was Chris’s best friend and a cop, and he failed on an epic scale. So, he refuses to accept Kris’s new reality because doing so would mean accepting that his failure is permanent and that the person he couldn't save is truly gone. Basically, he's so busy trying to save a ghost that he's completely invalidating the living, breathing woman right in front of him.

Emory Ahlberg

I had incredible fun with the aquarium sequence. I'm especially proud of her little Flounder stuffie 💕

Emory Ahlberg

Her hair is GORGEOUS - it's so sad that we know it goes away... 😔

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Kris! I like to see them as TV episodes, each building up so that you really, really wished you could just hit "Next Episode!" and suddenly it's 3am. 😉

Emory Ahlberg

😂 Benji is acting so dense at the moment and she's definitely becoming more irritated!

Emory Ahlberg

KRIS: So, in this one scenario, I'm a mermaid. Like, a REAL mermaid, and Alan is this sexy fisherman who accidentally catches me in his net! And I'm all tangled up in the net, panicking, because I'm scared of humans, right? But he slowly, gently approaches me... Oh, sorry, got carried away. BEN: Actually, uh, you can continue...

Jade Diaz

Episode 31 where Ben confesses his secret addiction to monster fucking romance novels…

Emory Ahlberg

Wow, thank you so much, Crystal! 💕 Personally, I always connect more with characters who are profoundly messy. Kris definitely fits the bill! She hasn't only escaped a literal basement prison, but now she's navigating this new labyrinth of the identity that Bella shattered and then tried to rebuild in her own image. The real mystery, for me, isn't just the 'whodunit' of this whole operation, but also the 'who-is-it' of our main character. And every piece of the story is meant to put that question under more and more pressure until something has to give. (even more)

Thomas Tolliver

Gosh, I know we've said it before, but the long hair look is so gorgeous.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Thomas! So sad that we know it's shaved off at some point soon. 🥺
