Hey everyone!

Remember "Echoes of Eve," that sci-fi comic I posted a few months back? The one about Jaxon's transformation during a 30-year journey to a new planet?

Well, my incredibly talented friend Helena Grace read it and apparently thought, "You know what this universe needs? A story about a guy who ABSOLUTELY DESERVES what's coming to him."

And then she went and wrote 11,000 words of brilliance - which I then created 16 illustrations for!

Helena is one of my favorite writers in this space, and if you're not already reading her work, you're missing out. She writes gorgeous, emotionally complex trans stories that I absolutely love. She's currently working on several projects, all of which I can't wait to read more of.

Please go support her: https://www.patreon.com/HelenaGrace

Seriously, if you like my work, you'll love hers. She's doing important, beautiful things in this genre.

A Personal Note:

Having someone care enough about your work to write in your universe is one of the most amazing experiences as a creator. Hel found gaps in my world-building and filled them with intention and care. She asked questions I hadn't thought to ask. She made the universe richer.

Thank you, Hel, for this incredible gift. 💜

Helena Grace

This was such a treat to work on! And the praise, I'm blushing! I'm so thankful that you gave me this opportunity to expand on Echoes.

Diana Green

To any other fans reading this. Helena's work is legit worth checking out. 🥹☺️ Nothing else to add except to heh – *Echo* what Emory said really. 🙂‍↕️

Helena Grace

Thanks Maggie! I'm so pleased with how this came together.

Helena Grace

August 31st, it started right after the original Echoes dropped.

Samantha Louise

Gorgeous renders for a wonderfully written story. The ending was so sweet.

Jerome B

A brilliant collaboration - please can we have more?! I echo Emory and others comments about Helena's content - I am now a member and loving the first story I have started reading - It's a Living. :-)

Emory Ahlberg

Oh that's fantastic, Jerome! And I can say for CERTAIN that you will have more... because she has already written a story set in Clinic 12 in the Jack & Jill universe and it's just as brilliant. I can't wait to make art for it, as well!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Samantha! I had such an incredible time reading Hel's story - and then and even MORE incredible time making the art. I loved every moment of the process of collaborating with her. 🥰

Helena Grace

Thank you! I'm so thrilled everyone enjoyed this story

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Maggie. I'm so happy that you enjoyed reading the collaboration as much as we enjoyed working on it!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, David. 💕 There will be more collaborations between Hel and me in the (near) future!

Emory Ahlberg

Don't worry, Maggie... we will be! We already have plans. Mwahahaha.

David G Eason

I can’t wait to see what happens to those guys who well you know lol

Gemma

Beautiful story of redemption Helena. Emory the images you provided accompanying this story are amazing. Emily, the female form of Jacob is stunning. I was so pleased to see that Jacob fully became a girl, found love happiness as she fully embraced her new life as a woman and mother. I can think of other characters in your stories Emory that I would love to have the same ‘happy ever after!’

Emory Ahlberg

I think that would make an EXCELLENT Part 3, David! 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Gemma! For Jacob, redemption wasn't about atoning for a single bad act, but about dismantling an entire identity built on corporate aggression and entitlement. The man we meet at the beginning is a product of a system that rewarded his worst impulses. The Beta Emigration Program stripped away the power structure that enabled him to be that person, forcing him to build a new self from the ground up. And I'd say that "happy ever after" is something she truly had to earn. It wasn't a magical gift that came with her new body. The turning point is her confession to Robyn about her role in the mutiny attempt. That was the moment Jacob truly died and Emily began to live. She was willing to risk her newfound happiness and connection for the sake of honesty. That difficult choice is what makes her ending feel so complete. She finds love not because she became a woman, but because she finally became a person worthy of it.

Helena Grace

Absolutely, Jacob commodified people. Kylie is a specific example, but various moments early on highlight how he views women. Without the confession to Robyn, and just owning up to the mutiny in general, they couldn't have a relationship. It would have been hanging over him, every day.

Gemma

Well said. The changes in Emily were certainly beyond the physical and more reflective of personal growth and shifts in Emily’s psychological and moral compass.

Gemma

Well said. The changes in Emily were certainly beyond the physical and more about the shifts in Emily’s psychological and moral compass. In particular, as you said, Emily’s recognition that she needs to have the courage to open up to Robyn at the risk of losing that relationship is certainly truly reflective of her love and the personal growth that she has undergone.

SingularCurve

What a great sequel! Congrats to both you for the amazing illustrations, and to Helena for the amazing story!

Kirsten Roberts

I enjoyed reading this immensely! The images too were incredible.

Helena Grace

Glad you enjoyed it. I loved writing it.

Beverly

Would have been better if it were males and females being sent to the new place.

Robertlouis

What a wonderful collaboration! The coming together of your art and Helena’s words is simply inspired, and her ability to overlay a fresh new story on the template you previously created made it a joy to read. You’ve already done it successfully with Alyson, and now with Helena. I wonder if there could be more to come.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Robert! It was such a treat to read what Helena created using the first story as a base. And we'll definitely be doing more collaborations in the future! 😊

Robertlouis

That’s great news, Emory. Thank you both. And perhaps to Alyson as well?

Kris Greg

I missed this back in October. I remember that I was super busy around then, so I shouldn't be surprised. However, I'm glad that I got a chance to read it the following June. It's a great story of redemption, & I will be checking out Helena's stuff now.
