Half Sisters Season 3 is almost HERE! 🎉

To celebrate the premiere, I created something really special to me - an animated music video bringing Nikki and Sandy's story to life!

This might be my favorite thing I've ever made. I think of it as a love letter to these characters, even if that sounds cheesy.

Wow! I can hardly hear the song on the equipment I have available, but the visuals are really impressive and quite wonderful. So far, I've read the first thirty episodes of Half Sisters, so some of the imagery (as a series of still pictures) is very fresh in my mind. Seeing Nikki and Sandy move adds so much more, especially to their facial expressions. Seeing Nikki's reaction to missing the stag as a moving image, for example, brings home that she's deliberately missed. Thank you for sharing that! Love it!

Truly a tease for non-Double Platinum Members, But absolutely amazing!!!! As a non artist I am guessing you used AI, but how that all works is way beyond me. All I know is that you managed to bring your still images to life in a way that is intoxicatingly believable and truly enhances the dramatic impact of the story. One could get blissfully lost in this brave new world you are creating here. Be careful or not only will fans want a complete published graphic novel made from the combined Maid for Life and Half Sisters at the conclusion of the series. But your fans will also demand a full on feature length animated movie! The curse of success, people always want more!

I don't think that it uses AI. I've never used AI, but I have discussed with my editor the subject of possibly AI-generated covers for my books. AI seems, on that basis, to involve handing over control to a computer program. It's clear that Emory has retained human control over the video images.

I believe Emory uses computer-assisted animation (CAA)—not AI—as a tool when she creates animations such as this. Here's what Google told me is the difference between the two: "CAA uses digital tools to speed up traditional, human-controlled processes, whereas AI animation uses machine learning algorithms to generate content, often automatically or through text-to-video prompts." For what it's worth, film makers have been using CAA for decades, long before AI emerged as "a thing"—years before Nvidia sold its first GPU in 1999 (Pixar's 1995 film Toy Story, for example, was the first feature-length film created entirely with computer animation).

Thanks Pet and Tim! I appreciate the explanations. 😍 However, for me and my STEM deficiencies, I think "AI" is just my catch-all phrase for "that computer magic thingy". That's a technical term of art, in case you did not know. 😉 😂 Gee, I guess I am a blond this week!?! 😂 😂 😂

Thank you, Diana! I'm so glad you liked it. It was a lot of work. But creating these really makes me feel like the characters are in an animated show. And if Half Sisters ever was a show, it'd have to be animated... I don't think any of us would accept live-action substitutes for this dynamic duo lol.
