Well, it's getting very late here and I'm not quite done with the Phase 9 Finale.

Ugh. 😔

It's sitting at 52 panels and growing, but I refuse to split it again because this needs to flow as one episode. This is the culmination of nine years of story - and I just can't rush it.

I'm also trying to be better about not working myself into the ground. In the past, I would've pushed through until 5am and posted something while running on fumes. I don't want to do that to myself anymore. Also, you deserve my best, not my most exhausted.

So please just know that I'm working really hard on it and it's almost there.

I really, really can't wait for you to read it. 💕

Couldn't be happier to see you calling it a night... that's not only best for you, but best for us because we'll get the best possible product you can produce.

Alyson Greaves

That just gives me another day to be excited about it! (or however long it takes for you to make it the way you want)

AB

Please take care of your health, the world can wait.

Maggie Heels

Finally you figured out how to deal with priorities properly ❣️❣️❣️

Crewchick

Still up, I need to follow your new example. Glad you are being smart about your health and well-being. Take your time. Your quality is far more important than speed, and well worth the wait.

Crewchick

BTW This is Diana O'Neil. Patreon reverted me back to my login user name. WTF?

Gemma

Pleased to hear you are learning to take better care of yourself. You always produce such a quality product and we, your devoted readers, are very patient. The extra day or so just adds to our anticipation. It will be interesting to see how the season concludes and how all loose ends are tied up. I imagine, however, prior to the conclusion you will again leave us with some ongoing loose thread in this story to mull over during this story’s hiatus. Also, what really goes without saying, thank you for this fantastic, realistic, engaging and exciting story.

dont hurry, take the time you need

Robertlouis

Take all the time you need, Emory. And by that I mean YOU, not the work. Your physical health and mental well being are at that really matter. We can all wait a few more days and longer, much longer if need be. We know how much you care about your readers. Well, we care about you too. Breathe. xx

Pet Jeffery

I'm so pleased that you're being sensible about sleeping. Unless you absolutely have to be up at 5am (for instance, if you're a paramedic on an emergency ambulance) there's only one place to be at that hour. Take as much rest as you need, and then take a little extra just to be on the safe side.

Kris Greg

I'm glad that you're remembering that your health comes first. We can wait, & thanks for the update.

Crystal Peaches

Great storytelling requires time and space e for both the characters and the writer. Your well being has to be the number one priority and I am pleased you are realising that!! xxx

Rest well, muse Emory...and please take care of yourself. I'll gladly wait...as will my own Xuniverse characters..."The Hatchlings".

Jenny S

Good morning, hope you got that sleep! I'll just echo everyone else, self care comes first, no need to rush greatness, we'll all still be here when it's done <3

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Jenny. I have the sweetest readers!!! 💕

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you! I will - I'm also just really eager for you to read it! 💖

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Gemma. I really appreciate the support. This is a huge episode and I can’t wait for you to read it - which means I want it to be as good as I can make it!

Emory Ahlberg

You’re so sweet, Robert. Thank you! I just hate being late and disappointing you all… but I also know it’d be a mistake to released a finale I’m not satisfied with - especially this one! 💕

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Pet. I appreciate the pep talk. And you’re so right - 5am is an ungodly hour!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Diana! ♥️ I really can’t wait for one of your incredibly in-depth comments on the episode. No pressure!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Kris! Yeah, I’m trying to be better - in the past when I pushed too hard, I was just exhausted the rest of the week and felt like crap. That’s no good for anyone!

Mmmph!!! 😡 I am getting so frustrated with Patreon. They may be making the platform more mobile friendly, but they are doing so by making it less PC friendly. I have noticed that I no longer get a red dot in the left column when there is a new notice or message. I have to rely on an e-mail notice to an account I don't monitor all the time or actually opening up the notices page and chat pages to see if there is anything new. It may seem like a little annoyance to some, but it is an annoyance that feel like regression not progression technologically. Then there is the whole account merging thing. I was fine the way it was. I am not a creator and don't need a creator account. The whole reason I even joined was to follow you because I got tired of waiting 3-6 months or more at TGComics for the next set of installments for "Jack and Jill" and "Half Sisters"! So the whole name thing has me frustrated. Crewchick is my e-mail address I used to set up the account. I chose to use a personal name to join your community. Now Patreon has defaulted back to my e-mail nickname. It is fine, it is a nickname I like and may explain the obsession I have shown at times in our conversations for the sport of rowing. But I chose to use a personal name and became known in your community by that name, and Patreon just took it away without any real choice in the matter. There may be a way to change names and several people here with a tech background may offer instructions on how to do that. And I thank them in advance for that. But with my limited techiness the wisdom is probably waisted on me and I will likely just keep rolling with the default. Again it is not a big thing, but it is an annoyance. So going forward call me "Crewchick" or "Diana", I will answer to both. And then lastly there is the blatant monetization of everything now on the platform. The whole push to have me develop my creator profile is so they can then get their cut of whatever I produce and sell over their platform and any memberships I may sell to those wanting to follow me. But I produce nothing and don't want to be followed. And now even on your site (not by your doing) everything has a price. I guess it is so nonmembers can buy single episodes or artwork. But it made me do a double check the first time I saw it to see if I was now going to have to pay per episode and chapter on top on my monthly membership fee. It just makes the whole platform feel cheap and less community-like and more transactional. Thanks for letting me vent! 😉 PS: The whole reason for this venting on this thread is because I only discovered your reply above by accident. There have been several updates now without any notification.

Emory Ahlberg

That is really frustrating, Diana! 💖For the record, I agree with you big time on the changes. I hate the push to make everything more "mobile friendly" at the expense of the desktop experience - especially when my panels are specifically designed to be high-resolution for viewing on the PC!

Annette

A day or two don't make much of a difference. Glad to see you taking care of your wellbeing, Emory 💕 To quote Ryan: "...you spend so much time taking care of everyone else. Who takes care of you?" Spoiler: the correct answer is "YOU" 😘

Emory Ahlberg

Awww! 💖 Thank you dearly, Annette! And I love that you quoted Ryan back to me. That put an enormous grin on my face!
