I wanted to bring one particular moment from Episode 80 to life - the bleacher scene between Nikki and Sandy. For me, there was something about this that felt like it needed movement, needed voice, needed to breathe a little more than the panels alone could give it.

I know that sounds a little pretentious - and maybe it is - but a little pretense never hurt anyone. Not really.

But, c'mon, this is Nikki at her most unguarded. Underneath all the sarcasm and deflection, there's a person - boy or girl - who still hasn't fully processed what happened to her at Clinic 12, and Sandy is the only person who can get past the walls long enough to see it.

I tried to capture that vulnerability as faithfully as I could.

Great to hear Nikki and Sandy sharing a moment together. Nikki’s voice certainly captures her fear and feelings of vulnerability. Sandy voice is sweet and compassionate. The gentle arm around Nikki’s shoulder is exactly what Nikki needed to attend to the pain, doubts and fear she was experiencing, letting her know she was no longer alone and on her own.

I’m so glad these two have each other. Nikki may not like some of the stuff Sandy does or gets her to do too, but she’s very grounding for her. Nikki would’ve spiraled out of control already if it wasn’t for Sandy. Millie having her internal conflict is just so sad. We saw the date and besides the Davis vision, she seemed like she had a good time. She even seemed like she enjoyed the kiss and really likes Zach. I can’t wait to see more from these beautiful girls.
