We are back in business with 26 pages.

I'm so happy to be sitting at my desk, my computer humming along, working on Sandy and Nikki again. Their first day of classes at St. Christopher's! Club Rush was fun (mostly) but now it's time to actually be college students.

A quick note / thought going forward: I've been thinking about alternating between Half Sisters and Homecoming instead of doing each one in blocks. That way there isn't such a long gap between episodes of either story. What do you think?

Obviously, this has been a whirlwind of a month. A cross-country move, a new apartment, a new coast. It has been a lot. Thankfully, October is going to be a lot more normal, and I cannot wait.

Thank you all for sticking with me. 💕

I haven't had time to read the new episode yet, but the idea of alternating between Half Sisters and Homecoming sounds like a good one.

It's always nice when you bless us with another chapter in this universe. I get what Nikki went through with Sandy's snoring. I had a roommate whose snore was very loud, but changed sounds every minute or two. "It sounded like a pig, but now it sounds like a canary. WTF?" I hope that Nikki gets her bathroom situation figured out ASAP!

Maggie Heels

And finally, we have clear proof that this is a fictional universe and a fictional story, not a documentary... Why? 99.99% of people who snore don’t snore when they sleep on their side... Snoring—and especially loud snoring—occurs almost exclusively when someone sleeps flat on their back :) Sandy... the challenge to help Nikki discover her inner girl will be extremely hard... I hope your team that you'll assemble for that task will manage flawlessly in time. ❣️❣️❣️

This idiot bi girl, I love her so much 💖

Now I have read it. I need to shut down my computer for the night. But I wanted to say poor Nikki, that's rough.

I would love to have alternative stories between Half Sisters & Homecoming as they are both outstanding experiences. I am being selfish I realise as Homecoming is difficult for you, however both are superb and deserve to have more frequent visits. More importantly you must stay well and whatever you choose is fine with me ❤️🇮🇪

Oh poor Nikki! She is having a rough morning and the class day has not even begun. Great job putting that frat bro in his place though. I get the reservations about the dorm's women's showers. But the Football Team's men's locker room??? Really? She may not feel like a girl, but she does not look like a boy, and she can't afford to get clocked in public. She and Sandy really need a room with an on-suit. If there are no two person rooms with on-suits, then perhaps a "quad with two Jack and Jill baths each connecting two room and a common living area between all for rooms. Then she and Sandy could share a bathroom, and Nikki could get some sleep at night. 😉 And yes more problems on the horizon with Zatch. 🤦‍♂️ Still it would have made a lot more sense to shower in a private shower stall in the women's room that thinking she could shower in the Men's open bay showers at the stadium without getting caught at some point. Sandy should have walked back with her to the room and talked her through the panic attack and laid out the logic. What I don't get is how Nikki can now wear short shorts and tight baby-doll crop-tops and not seem to have any problem being seen and treated like a girl, but now the showers with private stalls is too much? Where has se been going to the bathroom since moving in? I assumed she has been using the Lady's room. Please tell me she has not been sneaking in the men's room when no one was looking. Or worse running to some wooded tree line, at least to pee. First "gross"! Second a hot girl in a short skirt peeing behind a tree, STANDING, is going to get some negative attention at a conservative Christina school. She seemed to have no problem using the Lady's room on the date with Zach. And why didn't Nikki bring some clean clothing to change into after the shower? Walking across campus one way in PJ's was bad enough, walking back across 30 minutes later with more people rolling out of the dorms will only make it worse. Maybe she should have done her first semester as a commuter student? At least until she figured out how to navigate all these gender obstacles. Please tell me she does not become known as "Nikki, the hot girl with terrible hygiene." Another reason in my mind for an orchiectomy. Especially from Hutchinson's perspective of wanting Nikki to pass without any risk of scandal. And it might give Nikki less hope and reason to hold onto her male identity. If there is nothing left of her physically as male, it makes it harder for her to say she belongs there (men's locker room) and not here (women's showers in the dorm). I know it is in her head not between her legs. But to use a sports analogy Nikki might understand, the orchiectomy could have/might still force Nikki to accept she has been traded to another team and there is no going back. The only path forward is to suit up and play the game. Walking across campus at 7:00 am and thinking she could get away with showering in the men's locker room at the stadium is rapidly approaching intervention level behavior. Sandy needs to get a move on forming up "the squad"! Because Nikki needs a girl intervention, stat, to convince her that despite her feelings and confusion, she is safer in the women's bathroom with the individual private stalls than she is in a men's locker room, especially when Nick is no longer even on the team and Nikki has no official connection to it. And a trans girl in Texas with no known team connection (except dating the QB, a whole other scandal) showering in a football team locker room would likely have things done to her that would make Nick's treatment of Zach look harmless and quaint. And I don't see you going down that kind of trauma road with Nikki ( I hope). I am guessing Zach will read Nikki the riot act about those dangers and the exposure risks for both of them. I am also guessing Zach is feeling bad being ghosted by Nikki and doing the math on his behavior to figure out why. So I expect there may be some friendship reconciliation coming soon from this. But anyway, why is Zach showering in the locker room at 7:00 am on a non-practice day or at least morning, and not his dorm room or apartment with Mando? As always some interesting answers and a whole lot more new questions we are left with until the next episode. Looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.

Oh Nikki, what a morning ...

Phoebe Nocturne

Oh god. Sandy. When Nikki says she has a plan, you do NOT just leave it at that. It's probably a terrible plan. She was probably right not to push any harder on the women's showers, though. As much rational sense as it makes, there's no getting past Nick's crisis there in the few seconds they had in that moment. Still, Nikki hasn't gotten to the point where she's really thinking about the whole... self-preservation and safety angle. That 3-in-1 body wash is a metaphor for her entire existence. Just doing what she's always done like she's always done it and paying for it later because things have changed now. Dry hair is just less of a serious problem than... risking being assaulted in a bathroom or public shower... But hey, least we know Zach won't do anything terrible in this situation. Except exist and accidentally give her a crisis. The drama! (For the record, I personally like having "seasons" of all your long-running series! Alternating sounds nice in theory, but it also leads to longer waits after cliffhangers. And we all know how you love those, lol.)

Ellen Mellor

Poor, poor Nikki. Her shenanigans always spark joy. She is the worst to everyone but no matter how shifty she is to those around her somehow she always manages to be the shittiest to herself. I think alternating between the stories is a good idea.

I hope these are tested hair tips, because I might try that coconut oil hair mask this week :P A wonderful contrast between these two ladies, born of similar enough circumstances but handling the changes in such different ways. I'm not sure if "shallow" is the right term for Sandy, she's thoughtful and a good friend, but she's embraced femininity on a very sensory level, it's the softness and prettiness and sensuality of it all that appeals to her, and once that's clicked she never looked back. For Nikki, while she can playact the part, she needs to accept herself on a deep level, she needs to find her femininity in the foundation of herself before she's ever comfortable with the surface elements. I think she can get there, I think she's a proper egg, but she's got a far longer road to walk down that Sandy did. I wonder why Zach's in the locker room. Seems he might be trying to get away from things as much as Nikki is. I agree, girl, he's a looker, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. :P Great work as always, Emory! I am all in for whatever scheduling works best for you, and if that's alternating, than let's alternate! <3

Nikki, why are you making something like a morning wake up and shower take 27 Daz3D panels? To paraphrase a certain movie gunnery sergeant: "What is your malfunction, numbnuts"? Have you any idea what Hutchinson will do to you if he finds you peeked at his son? Or God help you...Davis? As always, muse Emory, you are truly outdoing yourself every time. I mean, you make even waking up and showering seem like a total drama.

Someone might need a CPAP

Just wow! Before I give my feedback I wanted to support your idea of having alternative episodes of ‘Half Sisters’ with thise of ‘Homecoming.’ This allows for better continuity for your patreons for both stories. Now for feedback on this episode of ‘Half Sisters.’ I have been anticipating for so long Nikki and Sandy first night of College life. Just love the humour in this story. Sandy and Nikki are certainly the odd couple. Love Nikki’s responses to Sandy’s snoring and the humour you injections and comparisons she make her. Including the little dig Sandy was innocent to around how much Josh must love her. This episode reveals that whilst Sandy’s snoring may have made it somewhat challenging for Nikki to sleep, we are privy to Nikki’s minimisations of the list of other real unprocessed trauma, thoughts and confusing feeling that are on Nikki’s mind and which she has not as yet processed. I also want to day just how cute and pretty Nikki looks in bed with the covers up around her shoulders, just revealing her face. I would challenge anyone who said that this face (even without makeup and it seeing the body), could be mistaken for and seen to resembles that of a male or that Nicks old face. Nikki looks so cute in her pjs and so pretty and feminine. I love the different mindsets of both Sandy and Nikki. Sandy, even from viewing her night attire, wearing a nightie, embracing her femininity and all aspects (including preoccupation with her beauty routines) of life as a College girl. Right from the offset we see again Nikki’s ongoing resistance, her wearing ‘guy type’ clothes/pyjamas, as she fights the reality of her new situation. Certainly going into the girls showers is a step too far as she confronts and challenges an acceptance of this new reality. Love the beautiful image of the naked Sandy in the showers, again showing her embracing all aspects of being a girl. There Sandy is ‘multi tasking,’ enjoying aspects of feminine form as she is also in deep reflection, pondering the issue of Nikki’s resistance. We are reacquainted with the role she feels needs to undertake ‘for Nikki’s sake,’ and for Nikki’s ongoing safety. Sandy realising that she may have to recruit Lauren, Evie and others to help Nikki ease into her new life as a Coed at College. I love the surprising twists at the end. We see Nikki’s ongoing fight back to perceptions of others with her ‘snap back’ to remarks made by a male student around ‘walk of shame.’ I love the ongoing resistance within Nikki and gee efforts to try to reclaim her masculine life style, a safe place, by revisiting her old make shower change rooms. I loved how this ‘safe place’ was taken from her when she sees Zack naked in the showers. These images of a naked Zach are beautiful, he certainly shows himself to be an impressive figure naked. I love how Nikki ( and we) sees Zack in all his naked masculine glory. It certainly highlights to Nikki how meagre she is ‘down there’ compared to very virile, masculine imposing image the naked Zack reveals himself to be. Whilst we see Nikki taken back (I seeing her sneak another peek), it is not clear to her (or to us), what her thoughts and feeling are. Is she is dealing uncertainty and ambiguity around her thoughts and feelings, are they one of jealousy, envy or, as much as she may wish to deny them, those if physical sexual attraction to Zack. I’m so glad Zack caught her looking. I am so intrigued, as I’m sure everyone else is, as you left us once again with another cliff hanger.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Maggie! Although, front my experience, loud snoring can happen at EVERY angle lol Sandy's next goal is to really and truly assemble the Femme Force 5! If she doesn't get distracted by the pretty rocks hehe

Jade Diaz

Not beating the “closet boyliker” theory with *this* episode! But I am grateful for the totally gratuitous full frontal. Thank you for this incredible half birthday present.

Gemma

Additional comment. Emory the images of Nikki’s face are amazing and full of so much detail capturing her underlying feelings. I have just notice the flushed red colour in cheeks in image 19. This subtle addition in the art rendering highlighting even more the sense of embarrassment, and maybe other confusing experiences and feelings arising in her as she sees ‘all’ aspects of Zack and his impressive naked and well toned masculine body. Certainly it significantly is in contrast with her feminine form, including the remnants that remain of her former manhood.

Crystal Peaches

Both adorable and heartbreaking. Just such an engrossing and emotional read. Ido hope Sandy is able to help Nikki, and that her and Zack make up

Robertlouis

Maybe…but I get confused between Homesisters and Halfcoming. 🤪

Robertlouis

While there are some traumatically dysphoric issues for Nikki in this episode, a lot of the art is light hearted and humorous, especially Nikki’s various reactions and responses to the situations she has to deal with. Given how heavy a lot of your material can be, it was a nice change to be able to smile all the way through. That said, I do wish that Nikki wasn’t like a tightly coiled spring all the time. It’s easy to understand why, because the pressure is ever present, but you can’t help feeling for her plight. They need to find a reliable source of decent weed, I reckon.

Crewchick

Phoebe, I loved this line, "That 3-in-1 body wash is a metaphor for her entire existence. " And your explenation is brilliant about doing the same thing even though things have changed and paying for it later. I also read it like a "trinity", Nick, Nicky, Nikki. She even has Sandy calling her Nicky again. So she is certainly three distinct personalities in one. And yet each is not fully independent and separable the other two. Also agree I think I like seasosn to alternating and for the same reason. The reading experiecne will get dragged out even longer. The only way I think it would work is to reduce the number of snap shots and side projects and focus almost entirly on the two alternating long story formats. But I fear that might obstruct Emory's creativity to explore different stories, voices and art styles. So perhaps seasons are still best.

Man if that kiss got Nikki so hot and bothered I can’t imagine what will happen to her once she gets a taste of something more… i guess Nick was always a pretty sexual person so it makes sense that Nikki is the same

Thomas Tolliver

Nikki... snoring is not exclusive to being overweight 😛

TheVampire

She's so cute with zach!

Mary - Mrs. Palmer - did say "Hell, that boy's about as flexible as a brick wall", but I somehow imagined that Mary was speaking *figuratively*. Based on this episode, Mary - if anything - was understating Nick's underlying rigidity. Boy Nick is clinging to his vision of life as it was for him before Clinic 12 and is doing his best Admiral Farragut impression - "Damn the torpedoes, any concerns about personal safety and just plain common sense... Full speed ahead!" Meanwhile Nikki is chowing down on the eye candy that is Zach in the shower. Nikki peeked at a topless Sandy when Sandy changed clothes, but *that* event seemed more driven by habit (boy Nick wouldn't have missed a chance to leer at a topless girl) than anything resembling attraction. And seeing Sandy that way apparently didn't push any of Nikki's buttons. Her peek at Zach was clearly something else. Nikki *blushed* and couldn't resist consuming everything she could see in the all-you-can-eat eye candy buffet that was Zach taking a shower. ...While probably also recalling the kiss she can't stop thinking about. Nikki's clinging to her old male habits seem to be driven largely in opposition to things Davis said to Nick rather than how she currently feels. At some level, I get the feeling that Nikki is 'going through the motions' rather than doing things because she would like to do them. Gotta resist that 'girl mind virus'! I think that once Nikki starts to let go of everything that happened at Clinic 12, she will start doing 'better' (better being defined in what *we* think is best for Nikki, which is not how *Nick* would see things...) Although doing unwise things - even if you know they're not the smart thing to do - is something that I (sadly) remember from when I was dealing with full-blown depression. Nikki has every reason to be depressed, but I don't think that's her (big/main) issue. Let's just hope that Mando doesn't drop in while Nikki is 'visiting' Zach in the locker room...
