We're looking to gather some feedback from our Free Members community to help us further improve.

If you're thinking of becoming a paid subscriber to Tape Notes, what would persuade you? Rather than do a poll or give you a list of potential suggestions, we wanted to keep it as open as possible.

Fire away in the comments below!

Thanks for your time.

Definitely moe drum and bass and UK producers. Subscribed from your Sub Focus video but others didn't seem as relevant! :)

Tim Adam-Smith

Thanks! Really appreciate the feedback! Any artists in particular you'd like to see on the show?

Tim Adam-Smith

Thanks so much for all the suggestions! We really appreciate it!

Tim Adam-Smith

Had a date booked in but they ended up bailing so watch this space…

Pavel

In-person events in London

Tim Adam-Smith

We're looking at that again. We have done some of these in the past. What kind of events would you like to see?

Josh

Arists ;Bonobo pt2!! And Mr lake/ Sammy Virji Technicals: maybe when you record the daw and cut back to the artist you keep the daw full screen and have a little window where we can see the artist ? Sometimes it feels like there’s too many cuts back in for from the project view to the studio view. I’m just being critical ! Love the show

Josh

By Mr lake I mean Chris lake 😂

Josh

He’s got an album on the way coming July 11th maybe he wants some promo or something

Tim Adam-Smith

Thanks Josh! All feedback is good feedback. We might be having Mr Lake (🤣) on when he’s over for the UK festival season!

Pavel

Top of mind: mixes breakdown in a studio, live Q&A, community tracks feedback sessions, vinyl listening parties

it'd take offering project files/presets something more of an asset. When it comes to videos/tutorials/podcast type stuff i find it pretty discouraging to keep videos behind a paywall add another subscription to the mountain of subscriptions we all have already. i make do with whatever is free.

Tim Adam-Smith

Thanks so much - we really appreciate all you guys' feedback. Definitely know what you mean about paywalls and mountains of subscriptions. I suppose we see TN as a little different in that the episodes are so detailed and they come with gear lists etc. However, we are always reflecting. Often we are limited by what labels will let us have but we'll keep talking at this end! Any other suggestions please just send them on.

I don't have the budget to join a paid tier at the moment. Something that would keep me coming back to the Patreon until I do would be to give access to a single full-length interview per month. (maybe an older one) SoundOnSound has another nice free/paid format, where articles from the last six months are behind the paywall, but older articles are freely available.

Tim Adam-Smith

Thanks for the feedback Anthony, that's really helpful. We will have a think! And thanks for your support - our free members are a valued part of this community.
