Hello everyone!

Yesterday I returned to work on the KS Sky Ship. It's been a while that I haven't touched on this project and I had a bit of trouble to remember where the specific models were.

After this brief time to get in sync with the project I started where I left off.

After doing the Orc tower and having a bit more experience I decided to let go of my old methodology and start sculpting. I will focus on modularity later on, for now my blockouts are enough to orient my work and ensure this modularity.

I started working on the side of the ship, to be more specific I worked on the railings, in the current position a miniature (or a person, if we are talking about a bit of realism) would be in a dangerous position if they went to the tip deck, so I elevated the railings near the cannon.

After the railings were done I decide to work on the mid wall and stairs that would join the main and tip deck. Due to the size of the floor piece I decided to let the stair and the floor as separate objects, this can also help if you decide that you want to place this stair in another location. I still need to add details to the side of the stairs.

After adding the the stairs and mid wall, I went back to work on the hull, to be more precise, the mid section.

What will I do Next?

Next time I will work on the lower part of the Hull, adding a tip. I will also make a simple blockout for the Eagle.

Time invested in this project: 47:30 hours (2023) + 6:08 hours (2024)

With my experience with the Orc Watchtower I think that there's no way that this build be printed with less than 2kg of resin. The assembly time would probably take more than a month to complete.

That's it for this week's update. I will try to keep working in this project weekly till it's completed.

If you have any suggestions please let me know in the comments below.

Best regards,

Ivo
