What about us who don't use TuneIn?

Casefile

Part I and II are available now on all apps, Part III in a week.

Really enjoying the first episode. You've really gone for the big stories when you have done multiple episodes and it's always been so well judged and so well written. Thank you Mike, Anna and the whole team for such a great podcast. I've really been looking forward to this and I'm not disappointed. I don't watch TV so its so great have something to anticipate and look forward to.

Paul Cole

You're holding episode 3 for all tiers?

Casefile

Yes. Confirming that the deal with tune in is exclusive. We cannot release early anywhere else. You can go there right now to listen though. It is free.

Just finished part two and heading to tune in for part 3. I remember watching this on the news as it happened, reading about it quite a bit, but After listening to the first two episodes I realize I was woefully uninformed about the real story. I could never see the appeal, the reason people followed Jones, but the first two episodes offer tremendous insight into not just the appeal Jones had to his followers but also present another side to the man. This turns out to be a far more complex story than I ever imagined and thank you Casefile for the outstanding research. I have a completely different take on the followers of Jones and I can see why many thought they were part of a progressive and positive movement. Totally shocking revelations in parts 1 and 2 and I suspect part 3 is going to be a punch in the gut. I'm very happy I found this podcast. Casefile sets an extremely high standard that they not only meet but exceed with every episode.

Casefile

Thank you Robert, yes Part III is definitely hard to listen to.

Great job guys, I remember the story about Jim Jones, but after listening to part one and part two I don't think I knew very much. You've done an extremely fine job of providing a backstory that I was unaware of. Not that I want to give any kudos to the evil narcissistic man that Jim Jones was , but it almost seemed like he started out on the right path trying to stomp out racism and bigotry but then took a wrong turn. How does the saying go "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" and the pinochle of that is Jim jones. Thanks again guys, outstanding research and delivery.

I do have a question about TuneIn why are you moving to them and what's the benefit for you? You say I can create a "free" account but nothing is truly free. Will I be targeted by their spam and ads? Call me suspicious, but I'm in IT. 😀

Casefile

It's an early release agreement for now. You don't need to create an account in order to listen via the web or even the app. There is a pop-up ad for the premium service but if you are not interested you can close it with an X and just look up Casefile and listen to early episodes:)

I am looking forward to listening to this fascinating case. I am old enough to remember when it happened, and to have followed it in the news. But the details as they were revealed were so awful and senseless that I could not get my mind around it at the time. I know that the Casefile team will help me understand it now that years have passed.

Jamee K

WOW. I was a little bummed that this case was the next release as I thought I knew all about this case - man was I wrong! What an amazing job you guys did! Incredible work on a truly horrific tragedy.

Jamee K

Also, I'm not sure how to post a pic on Patreon, but I created a poll on the True Crime Podcasts Facebook group asking everyone to vote for their all-time favorite podcast; Casefile is in a very-close second place! Wooohoo! 💓

Jamee K

Hold the press, Casefile is now WINNING!

Roxy Orcutt

This was REMARKABLE! I listened to all three parts today while at work and I am so glad I did. I may have let out a little groan when I saw that Jonestown was the subject of the latest CaseFile because it feels so overdone (I've even listed to other podcast episodes about Jonestown and stopped part way though since I thought it was boring) but this was so well done, engaging and fascinating. The vivid writing and storytelling that goes into each episode of CaseFile is amazing and I am so glad to have found you guys! Thanks for the wonderful work!

I'll have to wait to listen to # 3 as I'm not willing to sign up for another app. Wish we didn't have to do that. Love the show tho. Episodes 1 and 2 were great!

Casefile

You don't need to sign up, just download the app or follow the web link tunein.com/casefile. There may be a pop-up add on the mobile app but you can turn that off with and X in the corner and listen to Casefile for free. No need to give any details or email address or anything. Thanks Laura

To me, this case was your most powerful and well done case yet. I was actually in tears at the end of Episode 3. You made this come to life more than any other podcast or documentary I've seen or heard on this. Keep up the good work!

alan roosen

Done with part 1, I was born a month after this so missed the media about it. Crazy to hear the real details, unbelievable

Jamee K

Of course! Final vote had Casefile as the winner with 162 votes. Second place was True Crime Garage with 124, then S&S with 73. Woohoo Casefile! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
