The dusk is deepening. Listening crews are posted all the way from the Coast to London to pick up the drone of the German planes. Soon the nightly battle of London will be on. This has been a quiet day for us but it won’t be a quiet night.

Thank you. Xx

I have never heard of this story! I’m also quite curious about part 2 … what could be in stour 🤷🏻‍♂️ Great work as always!

Monica

This episode sounds very familiar. Is it a re-recording of an earlier episode?

Casefile

No, we've never told this story before.

John Bourke

Finally signed up to your Patreon today. Love your work, particularly the multi-part episodes. 👍

Monica

Hmm perhaps I heard it elsewhere then.

Mariya Cassin

Note that the episode title is in plural …

Natalie Jaramillo

Awesome episode! I really enjoyed the start of the episode with the radio announcement and interjections on radio air raid sirens of the time. Very spooky, scratched an itch for context in a time period piece. Thanks for all you do! Can’t wait for part 2!

TJ Lefebvre

Excellent and equally terrifying episode. Loved it, thank you! Query: did you mean “sadistic” instead of “masochistic” when describing police’s initial assertions about the killer? Or did I misinterpret the narrative? If so, apologies! (I’m a new Patreon subscriber, but a long time listener and fan!)

Alan

Can't wait for part two! Not surprised that there were those who preyed on general fear under the perfect cover of darkness and war. Well done, as usual.

Telma M

Oh that’s a good catch Mariya!

Casefile

Thanks for the note TJ, we fixed it now.

TJ Lefebvre

Just had to run and show my partner that you replied! He laughed when I kept excitedly checking Patreon, saying that there was a chance that the Casefile team might respond - I’m starstruck! Thanks, guys! Day. Made. 😂

I fell asleep listening to this and missed the end and would like to listen again but I can’t seem to replay it, I’m assuming it must be something to do with my iPad but just checking that we can listen to an episode more than once?

Mr Chips

Listened for the second time, amazing episode! I just can’t imagine what will be discussed in part 2!!!

Mr Chips

Yes you should be able to listen to it more than once. Are you using the Patreon app or the iOS Podcast app?

Louise Amanda

The Patreon App. There’s a red line showing I’ve listened to it but I can’t push that back and pressing play does nothing either. I’ll just make sure I stay awake for the second part lol Thank you for replying

KaneCC

Click on the box of the episode and try moving the scroller back and then playing. Clicking play never works after an episode has been listened to, annoyingly. I’m always falling asleep to these so have struggled in the past!
