Today's Archives post is significantly less technically adept than what I usually post, because I usually don't go as far back into 2017 for these posts since I consider my work from back then to be very amateur.

But, today is a special occasion, as I am posting brand new artwork where this drawing has been completely redrawn in my current style! I thought it'd be fun to bring this old piece to the Archives so that people are able to compare the two when they're going through my backlog.

This is Fiora from Fire Emblem Blazing Blade, a cute Pegasus Knight! Here we see her in a more intimate setting... is it before the battle, or after?

ARTIST NOTES

This piece was meant to be sensual in a way that doesn't feel horny. It's also one of my earlier experimentations with sunset lighting, which any fan of mine should know I'm a little bit obsessed with by now.

I grew up in Colorado, where our western horizon is lined with mountains. Every day the sun sets behind them and creates the most brilliant and awe-inspiring blend of color and beauty. The mountains turn into several distinct fading layers of purples, reds, and oranges, light beams shoot from behind the peaks, and the sky illuminates into an incredible symphony of color. The sunset and twilight hours are my favorite parts of the day, and have been the focus of my last few drawings. It's no surprise I was trying to tap into that as early as 2017!

Even though it is an older photo, I think it’s still a spectacular piece
