Pro tip: The more 80s movies you see, the more you'll begin to recognize Dabney Coleman. He was in almost EVERYTHING for half of the decade.

Three swears in a PG movie. Wasn't expecting that. If they swore one more time would this of gotten a R rating? I guess the three women having their fantasy sequence would be the "fun & games" part of act two. Along with it being set any city, the company and what they do is vague. I wasn't expecting this type of movie as well.

this was my first time watching, defied all my expectations. so much fun!!! thanks for the watch along. i thought it was cute as hell that Dolly Parton thought movies were shot in chronological order.

Glad you found so much to like about this. The pacing is for sure different than films started following at some point in the 90s. I guess audiences were more patient—either that, or writers wanted things more dialogue-driven. There are so many smart comedies/dramadies from the 70s and 80s that I think hold up a lot better than the raw meat like Caddyshack and Police Academy and Weekend At Bernies people will automatically recall when the topic of "EIGHTIES COMEDY" comes up. 9 To 5 is high among them. I know we spoke a little more about earlier Jane Fonda work during the last live, but you should definitely carve out some time to see Klute and They Shoot Horses Don't They? and, for a so-bad-it's-great experience, the infamous Barbarella.
