THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW WATCH ALONG

Comments

Dennis Quaid is still getting work. He just did a mini series about the first black US Marshall Bass Reeves and he’s done a bunch of smaller dramas over the past decade. I think he had twins around 2010 and that’s gotta be a handful.

If you haven't seen it, Armageddon would be right down your alley! It's a disaster popcorn flick, it goes to space, it's got Bruce Willis!

Jason McNeil

After seeing Dennis Quaid in this movie, it reminded me of another movie he was in that you should see called Vantage Point. It also has Sigourney Weaver and Forest Whitaker.

Ignore the temptation to get back into the Alien series, because you'll sling your laptop against the wall and break it into a million pieces within the first four minutes of Alien 3.

i would say that Independence Day is a disaster/end of the world type of movie, and the 4th of July is right around the corner so... also, i agree!!! lets spend more time in space and watch Apollo 13!!! lastly, you only do the Vulcan Salute with your right hand and and tell us to "live long and prosper!" seriously, i was triggered lol

If we're talking space/NASA movies, I've been waiting forever for a reactor to do The Right Stuff. It's hella long, but oh so good.

If you're in the mood for another Dennis Quaid disaster flick, I'd like to recommend Flight of the Phoenix (2004) which is a remake of the of the original from 1965. I actually enjoy both versions, but the 2004 remake (IMHO) is unfairly maligned. It's not as epic as The Day After Tomorrow, but it's an engaging watch. Oh, and my favorite movie from 1986? Aliens.

This is one of my favorite disaster movies. I'm a huge fan of most of them. I'm always a fan of the more "science-driven" disaster movies, like Deep Impact, also a great one. Unfortunately it came out around the same time as Armageddon which was a star-studded blockbuster that overshadowed it, but both are great disaster movies. 2012 is also a great one.

Also I wanted to add that I'm a huge fan of Alien 3 and Resurrection (which I am aware is a rare thing) lol.

the science is pretty off. the idea is that a shutting down of the north atlantic conveyer it would cool the northern hemisphere. but we are really bnot seeing the level of shutdown as we were nervious about back then
