Shanelle, when I saw this movie I was 20 and VERY pregnant with my oldest child. I cried so much I kept having to go to the concession stand and get napkins! I was also COMPLETELY alone in the theater. It was the first matinee show of the day in a mall theater, so no surprise there. This move gave me every one of the feels in a way no movie has since then. I'm sure it was the overdose of hormones but I've always adored this movie and have watched it countless times!

I felt that! I was so flooded for the entire movie! I can't imagine also being pregnant while watching -- haha I would've been in your same boat

This movie puts a person through a roller coaster of emotions. I know I felt it. Oh good I'm not crazy, I thought I heard a little Jurassic Park score as well. Unfortunately Danny Glover's character gets a little redemption at the end because he paid for Nettie to come home. I had to go back and look for Larry Fishburne when I saw his credit. Now you're ready to see the musical adaptation that is coming out later this year.
