The NeverEnding Story

Braveheart

Let's get chatting about the following --  what needs to live on the channel, what will I like? What will YouTube like?! Help me prioritize these?

Se7en

Silence of the Lambs (rewatch)

Solo: A Star Wars Journey

Big Trouble in Little China

The Muppet Caper

Twister

Tombstone

Snatch

Jacob's Ladder

PS. Trying to figure out how to use Discord!

These are all amazing contenders! I noticed someone else did Big Trouble recently so that might help get you some hits. Plus it’s hella fun!

Bill W

Seven, Big Trouble, Twister, Tombstone, Snatch should all get views. Jacob's Ladder might get you a few new subs.

shanellericcio

They seem to be good for Youtube, ran a search on some of these. The big reactors have all done them. I like to keep things equally popular AND fresh at the same time 😂

Tom B

Great Muppet Caper is also a lot of fun! Maybe save it for after Se7en?

Paul Cox

Probably no algorithm losers or lost causes here, though I'm personally not much of a fan of Se7en or Snatch (Brad Pitt being in both is purely coincidence, he's fine). Big Trouble and Tombstone would be a great twofer one week. You can see the extremes of Kurt Russell's range as an actor (and, with Tombstone, you get to see the best role Val Kilmer ever had as a bonus).

Ethan Wallace

Se7en & Snatch are smart and amazing, Big Trouble & Muppet Caper are alot of fun, and Tombstone & Twister are great! Twister is what inspired my brother to be a storm chaser and is to this day one of his favorite movies.

Bill W

Twister is enjoyed. Big Trouble is fondly remembered. Seven and Snatch are admired. .... but Tombstone is BELOVED!. =D

Hemichanga

Twister is at the top of this list in my opinion. Everything about it from the cast, to the effects, to the soundtrack, to the tight screenplay, it comes together terrifically. You'll need a cheer up movie after Se7en Off topic, the Lethal Weapon series is the most fun you'll have with buddy cop movies.

Rhett Samios

YouTube will probably like Solo, Silence of the Lambs and Twister.

Caren Helms

Just going to post the unpopular opinion that I LOATHE Discord, which is a hot mess and usually tremendously disorganized. Anyway, as for the movies, I would rank them according to what you want, but this would be my ranking: Big Trouble in Little China, Se7en, The Muppet Caper, Jacob’s Ladder, Tombstone, Twister, Solo, then Snatch. Some of these will break your heart, honestly, despite being wonderful movies. Since Silence of the Lambs is a rewatch, insert wherever you like. I love that movie!

Shawn Goforth

I'm with the majority in saying most of these are strong for YouTube. Jacob's Ladder would be the weakest of the list there for views. I also really enjoy most of these, but for your personal taste, I would recommend Great Muppet Caper, Tombstone and Twister at the top, with Silence of the Lambs thrown in sometime. From other comments you've made, I don't think you remember much, and it may need a rewatch. I'm back-and-forth on whether you'll think Se7en is a gripping thriller, or outright dislike it, which I'm also basing on prior reactions. My least favorites on here would be Snatch and Solo, and that's from a Star Wars fan. I can rewatch all 3 trilogies without getting bent out of shape about any of them, but I usually skip Rogue One and Solo when I revisit them.

Chris Bruneau

Both seven and silence of the lambs are good Halloween watches (cuz of the scary pats), IMO Unforgiven is a better example of a western than Tombstone., think about adding that one to your list

Paul Cox

She's seen Unforgiven already (and also, Unforgiven and Tombstone are two completely different types of Western imo; no reason to compare them other than they're both from the 1990s).

Paul Cox

Loosely on-topic, but I bought a copy of that Jim Henson biography someone sent you in your last live. I haven't started reading it yet, but it certainly looks thorough.

Tom B

Twister is one of the big summer box office hits. It would feel really weird to watch it during any other season. I would bump up the watch date for it!

Chris Bruneau

Your right, they are not comparable. Unforgiven is a masterpiece. in a class by itself.

smithfan22

Priority: 1. The Silence of the Lambs (1991 Best Picture Winner. One of AFI's 100 Greatest Films of All-Time) 2. Tombstone (One of the best westerns of the last 30 years. I think you would enjoy this the most) 3. Se7en (very intelligent and well done thriller) Those are essential. Twister is a good popcorn film with special effects that have held up 26 years after its release. Snatch is witty and quirky, Brad Pitt really shines. The Great Muppet Caper is a solid sequel, although not quite as good as its predecessor, or the one that follows, "The Muppets Take Manhatten". I am not a fan of Big Trouble in Little China, but I understand why people like it. In my opinion it's not one of John Carpenter's best.

smithfan22

Yes Unforgiven is a different class of film, but Tombstone is one of the best westerns of the last 30 years. It's a very enjoyable film.

Paul Cox

Big Trouble in Little China is deeply and knowingly stupid, but it all depends on the viewer's tolerance for that particular variety of stupid. Works for some, it's pure hell for others.

Dee Aitch

My ranking for a reviewer: Se7en because it's the most classic watch film on the list, Snatch because everyone needs some Guy Ritchie in their life, Jacob's Ladder because it's a creepy mindfuck of a film. But personally I'd go with the film that was runner up in the Academy Award for Best Movie Ever Made, Big Trouble in Little China.

Chris

Twister sucks, watch Rounders instead

shanellericcio

I'll be honest, im not very excited about Discord, I only thought it might be easier to discuss there. But now that I know this, I feel like I'd rather do the discussion here, or a private Livestream with patrons only!

shanellericcio

Yeah I don't think id consider Solo in the universe if I were an invested fan, just something about returning to the world, that I like a ton

Paul Cox

The peak of tornado season has already come and gone, but trust me they're a persistent concern year-round. Anytime you want to do a Twister watch is the right time.

smithfan22

It's alot of peoples favorite western, and for good reason. Cant wait to watch along!

Shawn Goforth

I can certainly understand that. It's always fun to revisit the universe when there is an opportunity. Without spoiling, I wanted to give a little more context to my comment about Se7en. It's a fine film, but also one I would anticipate you ending the video by saying "I need to go for a walk," rather than "I'm gonna go eat." When I hear that, I know it's struck a different nerve, and we worry, because we care. So, you should just mentally prepare yourself, if you tackle that one.

Adam Doyle

Se7en, Snatch, and Twister are all very different but great. Solo is not that good, but if you are doing a completist Star Wars viewing, I guess it needs to be seen. Muppets and Big Trouble are fun and weird. Jacob's Ladder is trippy. Just plan to be in the right mood/mindset to watch all of these. Enjoy!

Paul Cox

Sorry, I've been racking my brain trying to figure out if there's a single correlation between Twister and Rounders and I can't find one. What a strange way to recommend a movie.

Mike Fox

Twister is a pure popcorn movie and lots of fun. Plus my early adult crush was Helen Hunt so y'know... Carey Elwes' southern accent gets a pass because well... Helen Hunt geez i'm repeating myself...

Mike Fox

Hi Shan, this list is awesome. Really great. I'm not going to prioritize - but I do want to throw out a few observations: 1) Tombstone - perhaps one of the most quotable movies E-V-E-R. ... A lot of characters, including the minor ones have fun and memorable lines.... Be sure to lookup Doc's slang terms "Huckleberry" and "Daisy" 2) Snatch - A guy's movie if there ever was one. Might need subtitles on because the accents are easily as thick as "Trainspotting". But wow is this movie fun and smart. A great pick. 3) Se7en - A great thriller... plenty of cinema scenery to chew through in artistic commentary. 4) Twister, Solo and Big Trouble - Just fun popcorn movies, can check your brain at the door which can be a nice option. 5) Muppets are just fun. 6) No comment for Jacob's Ladder (I know the title but not the movie) and for Silence... since it's a rewatch.

Mike Fox

I'm in agreement with smithfan22, these two are both excellent movies, just for different reasons. It'd be like trying to compare apples and oranges - sure they're round, roughly similar in size and both fruit, but that's where the similarities pretty much end. ... By the way - since we're on the topic of Westerns, can I put a plug in for "Old Henry"? It's not Clint Eastwood's "Unforgiven", but it sure does tell a good story.

Mike Fox

Yeah I agree. This kind of a frat boy movie...not Kurt Russell's best. Personally I prefer the smarter and very efficient "Breakdown" which clocks in right around a trim 90 minutes. A rare movie that had me crying out because I could feel Kurt's emotion literally baking off the screen.
