Blade Runner and 2049 Dark City Videodrome Her A.I. Artificial Intelligence Donnie Darko

Paul Cox

Hard yes on the Blade Runner original and sequel. If you watch them close together, the coherence is better. Make sure you're watching "The Final Cut" edition of the original, though, because it's the one that finally shaped the film correctly. I like Donnie Darko for you too. One that's older (1970s) and I'm not sure whether you'd hate it or if you'd love the cheesiness is Logan's Run. Really hard to say.

Paul Cox

Also, and this is really delving into psychedelic kitsch, consider Jane Fonda in Barbarella: Queen of the Galaxy. Is it a good film? Uhhhhhh... Is it a film you'll smile whenever you randomly think about it for the rest of your life? Yes, absolutely.

Shawn Goforth

I would have immediately said Videodrome also, but it's Cronenberg, and even though it's his masterpiece and stars Debbie Harry, I don't like ruining your day. :) That being out of the way, here's my ten: The Running Man Passengers Outbreak Them! (1954) Robocop Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure M3GAN Demolition Man Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) Starship Troopers

Shawn Goforth

I know you have the two Alien movies on the channel. Not sure if you've ever seen 2001: A Space Odyssey, but that would be essential.

Thirteenth Floor Close Encounters of the Third Kind Looper Stargate

Chris Bruneau

I love the SCI-FI genre: here are my picks: Ex Machina, Blade Runner and its sequel, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Gravity, Robocop, Total recall w/ Arnie!,

Paul Cox

According to twitter, she's already filmed her reaction to The Fly. Videodrome would be a picnic.

Tom B

The Running Man was mentioned above. Total Recall or Running Man would be a great choice.

Jason McNeil

Old school Star Trek?? Maybe Wrath of Kahn.

Shawn Goforth

I was about to list both also. Total Recall is probably the better movie, but Running Man is so much more fun, and for some reason, not seen as much. I'm intrigued by any Stephen King adaptation, especially since this one ended up in my early 90s vhs collection, before I knew he wrote it.

Elliot Nesterman

Gattaca (1997) Ethan Hawke, Jude Law, Uma Thurman, Alan Arkin. A great SF thriller and among the best hard science fiction films. Forbidden Planet (1956) Leslie Nielson (during his romantic leading man days) Walter Pigeon, Anne Francis. A milestone in the development of SF film, especially notable for its entirely electronic score (the first ever). Metropolis (1927) Fritz Lang's SF masterpiece. Perhaps the first future-dystopian movie. Its Art Deco futurism set the tone for SF art direction for decades. Also, it just came into the public domain this year.

Bill W

Tron (1982; Jeff Bridges) Logan's Run (1975; Michael York) Runaway (1984; Tom Selleck, Gene Simmons) War of the Worlds (1953) Superman (1978; Christopher Reeve) Superman II (1980; Christopher Reeve) 1984 (1984; John Hurt) Equilibrium (2002; Christian Bale, Taye Diggs, Emily Watson) Demolition Man (1993; Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes) The Wild Wild West (1999; Will Smith, Kevin Kline)

Paul Cox

I haven't seen Runaway, but that's a Michael Crichton joint, right? Even when he's bad, he's still pretty good.

Bill W

The effects and score are dated. The villain ridiculous. The plot is believable enough (I guess) if you take into account when it was made. For me, it's Tom Selleck's performance ..and a bit of nostalgia, that makes it enjoyable.

Ethan Wallace

The Last Starfighter Blade Runner (Final Cut) Edge of Tomorrow Minority Report Robocop Sunshine Enemy Mine Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure They Live Flight of the Navigator The Arrival (1996) TMNT (1990) Sci-fi elements...I'll allow it.

Gilbert Gonzalez

Enemy Mine (1985) InnerSpace (1987) Cocoon (1985) Tenet (2020) In Time (2011)

Justin Gonyea

I remember one time you had mentioned that you like movies that are set in one location, and there’s one movie that I kinda consider like a low key, sci-fi “12 Angry Men”. It’s called “The Man From Earth”, and it’s literally a small group of people in one place just talking, trying to determine if the story the main character is telling them is real. I think it’s definitely worth a watch.

Travis Nickerson

Here is a couple good sci-fi for ya. Wall-E, Mars Attacks, Prey (Predator prequel), In Time, The Fifth Element. Critters.Good variety. Have fun.

Travis Nickerson

Critters is an under appreciated alien movie. I don't think it gets enough love. Fun fact critters 3 was Leonardo DiCaprio's first movie

Ethan Wallace

I wholeheartedly agree. It was a childhood classic for me, and one of my Mom's favorites. I don't think it gets enough love!

Scot Jebens

I had the most massive crush on Catherine Mary Stewart who plays Maggie, girlfriend of the hero! That hair!
