I met Carl Weathers at a con one time, and I asked him how many people try to do that epic handshake with him, and he said nearly everyone. I always thought that was funny.

Christopher Mitchell

Fun fact: jean Claude van damme was originally hired to play the predator in the movie but dropped out halfway through filming because I think the reason was that he kept complaining a lot but there's that many stories as to why he was dropped. The role was then given to Kevin Peter Hall who also played Harry the bigfoot in "Harry and the Hendersons"

Shanelle, you were desperate to get to the predator killing the guys and all I had go round in my head was "patience young Riccio good things come to those who wait" 😆

Chris Bruneau

Shan, the crossover was due mostly to comic books and fan demand, so they finally made the AVP, which was just Ok.

The score in the beginning was giving me Home Alone vibes, but it did eventually turn into something I was expecting for this type of movie.

I had a feeling you would have read this trivia because your predator full length watch reached me at 2:39am here in the UK and I was in bed sleeping by then and so I commented on the JCVD trivia just after 6am without watching the full-length watch along which I did later on that day

Chris Bruneau

little more trivia, shane black (Mr Cringworthy jokes) also wrote Lethal weapon! actually a really clever guy, never had much of acting career, but very successful screenwriter!!

I was in high school, saw it in a packed theatre with all my buds!--man did people cheer for Arnie, god he was soooo popular bk then!

Mike Fox

Props to John McTiernan for making a movie that doesn't just shoot off from the hip. The entire point of the camp fight scene with the bad guys was to establish just how lethal Arnie's little group was. So when it came time to face the Predator, it shows how much more lethal and dangerous it is. But, as you point out, you have to "get there" by building suspense - Green Berets? not a chance, Special Forces? Not them either. So what chance do you have dear audience member?

Mike Fox

The script really is great. But for all the funny dialogue and iconic one liners, my favorite cut is still the early reveal of the Predator inspecting the camp after Dutch and his band have moved on. After so much gunfire, big explosions and just plain bombast for minutes on end assaulting us, we see a small lethal creature die in near silence, and Death speaks in a whisper... "Anytime"..... That's cool. That's damn cool.

Mike Fox

Respectfully, all the sense in the world won't make up for mediocre execution. To be fair on that score, though, I think AVP in particular suffered from Fox Studio over dabbling....again.
