Yeah I can definitely relate. My family pressured me to marry someone that they knew personally because they wanted the benefit of having that person in their toxic family system. I said "FUCK NO!" I'm very happy to say that I refused even though they rejected me for it. They were sure that IF I married the guy they selected, he would give them money and owe them favors for life because they did him a "favor" by pressuring me to marry him. My family didn't care if he treated me well or if I even liked him, they just acted like I owed them my life for being born. I never asked for that, no one does.

Yes, it's like we're still in the medieval age because people still pressure their kids to marry. That's what happened to me and I'm so glad I stood up for myself and said "FUCK NO!" Also yes, I'm experimenting with Ellie's looks and it's fun~ I may have the sisters appear later on, we'll see =)

I'm so sorry you had to encounter that. I am glad you stood your ground although you lost something in the process, even if that something clearly isn't the greatest. But one thing I learned myself is that family is not always the people who you were born into; family is anyone who is willing to love and support you, to guide you, and to give even when they don't have much themselves. My kids have more "family" from the coworkers I've worked with in my younger days that did all they could to help me raise my little village even though they weren't in the greatest predicament to help out so I know whether it is through marriage of your own choosing or through the work you are doing and eventual hobbies you'll pick up, that you will build an amazing family. You already started with an online family that loves and supports you, even if we are a random strangers 😀 I'm loving the new art style and your confidence as an artist to exlore new styles and looms that feel good to you.

I totally agree! I appreciate this perspective~ Sometimes it can feel like our options for life are limited because that's all we've been taught or made to believe, but for many people nowadays, we actually have more agency than we may think and one of things we can decide for ourselves is who to share our lives with. I'm really excited to share more with you all, but the damage from my childhood has made it difficult now that it's caught up with me in adulthood. I'm managing it though, that's why I'm still kicking after all these years. Also helps that I have had so many supportive people believe in me and make it possible for me to continue doing this despite how dark things have gotten lately. I'm determined to make the best of my situation =)
