Human x Gargoyle was suggested by a patron and it won a poll back in June. I just took the design from my Krampus comic back in 2021, added wings and a cloth, and combined it with the forced marriage trope which is already very popular. I also personally experienced pressure from my family to marry a stranger. If you search "gargoyle romance" on Google, there are a lot of similar characters. My story is about Ellie saving herself and how the toxic family systems from the medieval ages are still the same as they are now. I have not read anything like it because of the element of family psychology that I've talked about before. Please, i'm aware i dont own the concept of gargoyles or forced marriage, thats not what i meant. you KNOW what i mean, dont you lie to yourself (btw that slap, im not blind). Of all the interpretations of gargoyle mythology available (ive read hundreds, not one was the same), you chose THIS..... Regardless, I’ll leave you to your unique...... process. Mimicry is a natural stage for beginners, but I truly hope you eventually take the leap into original thought

I was slapped and beaten by my parents when I was a child, just like Ellie. I have personal experience with being physically and emotionally abused by my family; I've written about it a lot this year and incorporated my personal experiences into my writing. The only part that is similar to any other gargoyle romance story is the intense emotion that animates the male lead. The rest of the story is about personal liberation, psychology, and toxic family dynamics. Psychology is still a relatively new field so there isn't any mythology that focuses on it. Corporal punishment is still widely practiced despite scientific studies proving it stunts the cognitive development of children.
