Homegirl was NOT LYING when she said looks fade. I doubt she was a stunner like Ellie but I get why she would feel confident in her assessment; she looks like an evil sack of burnt potatoes but still is married and ruling a kingdom. Problem is, history has proven time and again that no matter how old the man gets, how overall incompetent he becomes mentally and physically, the woman will be the first to go and be replaced with a younger, livelier queen. Or the king will find his favorite concubine and posture her in a position where while she won't be Queen in name, she would have the courts backing and be Queen in all other matters. So her high and mighty attitude maybe "correct" as she appears to be living proof that she doesn't need love to be "happy" with her current power and status but history is not and never will be on her side and just as she is enjoying that proximity to power being used, someone younger will want the same thing and be the next sacrifice for her husband's ego and pride.

Thank you for sharing, Sherri! It's interesting how some things stay the same throughout history. People obsess over status, beauty, riches, and power, but neglect the important things like the unique human components such as kindness and respect for living beings.
