I am feeling like I am stuck in the spring mud in Maine. I am slowing down on the Brothers K about halfway through the book. I have been so tempted to give up, but I haven’t yet. Your lecture last week really helped me. I feel as if I have permission to keep plodding along reading one page a day,but reading it week. I am reading a book of Elizabeth Gaskell’s letters and the Frank biography of Dostoyevsky. I am going yo pick up and read Anna Karinina. I know this is not a light “beach read” bout it is a change of pace. I would like to change my special author from George Eliot to Elizabeth Gaskell. I love both authors, but right now I am drawn to Gaskell and I am rereading Mary Barton.

I have finished War and Peace and truly loved it. I had difficulty getting through it not because of its content but because of the enormity of it. I loved every bit of it.
