Hello all!

As we try to shake off the cold grip of winter, it felt like a good time to do a postcard poll and pick out some exclusive art to help welcome the warmer months back.

I was looking back through some older polls and noticed a few ideas that I still really like, but which lost out back then to slightly heavier hitters like Robocop and Predator. So I thought I’d bring a few of those back and see how they land now.

All of these would be done in my usual 80s-inspired style, of course.

What do you reckon? Streets of Rage, Bubblegum Crisis or an anime-style Captain Kirk?

Curious to see which one you’d like to get in the mail.

Stargazer

Cross-over could be good... All 3 fighting Boomers or some completely different villain perhaps?

T-Viper

Would be interesting to see SoR as an 80s anime, hell id have definitely recorded it off the Bravo channel

Bubblegum crisis. I never actually watched that anime but I regularly saw it advertised in gaming magazines (I believe Tips N' Tricks Magazine) by anime sub companies and it had profound effect on me. At that point I only knew the squeaky clean shonens and shoujo series that had been dubbed (Captain Tsubasa, Cardcaptor Sakura, Dragonball...etc) and the ad hinted at a deeper, more illicit world of anime I wasn't privy to. I spent weeks imagining what the series was even about since I had only half an ad to visualize the series (it was a double promotion for another anime I can't remember). "Well, you're a grown ass man now. Why not just watch it?" Because it can never live up to the hype of several decades of mental fantasy.

This is a very good point! There are a lot of anime that I love because i watched them at a formative time in my life, but upon watching them now they're not as good as my teenage brain thought. We should do a Discord watch along of Bubblegum Crisis or something though so you can finally watch it with like minded people.
