I was in Jr High when this came out and this was such a big part of my adolescence. My friends and I would quote this to each other constantly growing up. Love this movie.

Matt Rose

NON-triumphant??? Bogus!

shaneth138

The newer one is awesome too!

John Sullivan

Really? I heard it was most heinous

Dissonant Bard

You are correct. There are two more. Both are worth a watch.

Remember that this came after Back to the Future and before Wayne’s World. Just so it’s clear about who influenced/ripped off/parodied whom. And, as is evident, this had the lowest budget of all of them, so it had to get by on its charm instead of its special effects - which, by the way, looked just as cheesy and outdated in 1989 as they do now. As a result this felt very refreshing back in the late 80s, with a kind of innocence that felt like a throwback. Teens (and adults) frequently quoted this movie as you described. It also had interesting timing. People were already calling 1989 “the end of history” with the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of apartheid, the end of the Cold War etc. This felt like a kind of unintentional commentary on that. Perhaps we should go back in that phone booth to warn them not to party too soon. (If only we had remembered to be excellent to each other….) Also you forgot to mention Speed as another Keanu role that could not be more different than this one.

Shad Kanyak

I still use “excellent” and “bogus”. I guess I’m still as simple-minded as Bill & Ted.

Jacob Colson

Unpopular favorite Keanu Reeves movie of mine: Street Kings.

Don Ross

I think it just suffered from trying to be a worthy sequel to this masterpiece. They play around a little more with the mechanics of time-travel, which my nerdier friends appreciated. Like Cassie said, this movie knows what it wants to be.

Mike Lemon

But I think this was written before Back to the Future.

Don Ross

Don't forget the time-traveling phone booth from Doctor Who.

David Fuchs

Keanu is only copying Sean Penn from Amy Heckerling film ("Fast Times"). Amy may become important to Cassie one day. Wayne's World had TALENT. (This film doesn't.)

Chris Thom

Let's Jaaahhm! Not enough think of Keanu as the guy from the vampire movie. Respect.

Ria Grix

This and Wayne’s World were a pre-internet meme. The word ‘excellent’ was never the same in my head after watching them.

RabidMango

is there a full watch? / (Edit:) Nevermind! I found it! Just got to my hotel room and was more interested in food than scrolling down a bit. Nothing to see here. Thanks for the content. :]

Nathan Jasper

perfect trilogy. I love Keanu :)

Wesley White

Hey Cassie, just wanted to say "Hi"! I participated in your premiere of this reaction on YT, to bad you were late to the party, but I understand! I'm so sorry to hear about your little girl being sick with stomach flu, let alone for the fourth day! I wish your daughter a full and speedy recovery, my heart and prayers go out to y'all! Plus I wanted to inform you that my package will be arriving at your PO Box tomorrow, hopefully either you or Ben can pick it up and add to the pile for this Saturday! Once again I say, I know you said I don't have to give you anything, and you are right, but I wanted to because as a friend I care 🤗lol! Plus it's not as grand as the recent one I sent you last livestream, it's small, plus it's something that was mine, but I unfortunately these days don't have any space for it, but I'm sure you might make use of it! Plus it will go perfectly when you (and Carly hopefully🤞) react to The Three Stooges, plus some really cool pictures that I think you might find "EXCELLENT" LOL🤣 Anyway, hope you're doing okay, hope your little girl gets better soon, love and support always, God bless y'all🥰😁🤗😇🙏😉✌👍🌹

Cole Jennett

I guess I will have to give the third one another shot, but I was massively disappointed in it. Love the first 2

Go0se

there is an Internet theory that John Wick is the alternate timeline if he was sent to military school.

K, Zachary

This movie is really silly but I love Cassie's reaction to it. It made the whole thing an experience.

mikethemotormouth

Favorite Keanu? Constantine(2005), easiest question I've answered all week. Devil's Advocate(1997) is a close second

Nathan Jasper

oh also, this movie was a parody/tribute to Doctor Who, who traveled through time in a phone box ;)

Nathan Jasper

Everybody receives it differently. I personally loved it :)

mikethemotormouth

You also saw Alex Winter("Bill") in The Lost Boys(1987) as one of the vampires

David Freese

Sorry to hear about your daughter! Hope she makes a full recovery ❤️‍🩹 I meant to be there for whole premier but got pull away because of my own daughter was having seizures. Excellent reaction I will actually come back to this over and over.

Uncle Phoenix

I wonder if Carly has seen “My Cousin Vinny” or “Overboard”? Just asking.

Uncle Phoenix

Wouldn’t I be surprised if Carly has already seen “Green Book” with Viggo Mortensen.

Chris Brown

Their third Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020) is probably one of the best trilogy payoff movies of all time. Consider watching all three.

Powers209

RIP for Donald Sutherland I was going to watch Kelly's Heroes the weekend of the 4th. I might throw it in tonight. No negative waves, we're all about the Positive Waves Oddball.

Stranger2Reality

Constantine is fantastic! Such an underappreciated movie. The Devil's Advocate is a lot of fun as well.

mikethemotormouth

Yes to both, Overboard was last year and Vinny the year before

Nathan Jasper

People tend to underappreciate things that aren't "by the book" or how they envisioned their favorite character. People can be so petty.

Nathan Jasper

Speed's more believable. Think about it. In speed, his best friend was a blonde. He was angry all the time and a loose cannon which he could have developed from feeling like his dad was disappointed and/ or hated him. Makes way more sense and is way more plausible than becoming the world's greatest assassin.

Mark White

Most Excellent reaction Cassie 😃

Mark White

I think ‘Kelly’s hero’s’ are definitely worth a watch for Cassie and Carly with Donald’s passing. RIP Donald Sutherland.

Andrew Myers

Time was I could basically say every line of this movie as the characters spoke them. So perfectly, delightfully stupid. The entire trilogy is fantastic.

David Freese

I’ve been suggesting a theme week with Kelly’s Hero’s,Dirty Dozen, and another WW2 movie but with his passing we could just change that 3Rd one to MASH

David Freese

He was asking about her sister Carly. He’s Hinting about a doubles reaction with those movies

Mark White

I like the older style WW2 movies. ‘Where Eagles Dare’ was always a favourite as a kid. No Donald Sutherland, but it’s got Eastwood.

Don

I used to love this film when i was kid! I dont know how many times me and a friend would randomly ask each other what number we were thinking of and both shout "69!". Or another friend who had a very glamorous mother and we would whisper in his ear "That's your mom dude" every time she was around and send him into an absolute rage. Telling teenage girls they were bodacious never worked though.

David Fuchs

I agree w/ you that Cassie is worth re-watching. I'll never stop watching her Vinny, Fargo, etc. I joined Patreon bf I heard the bad news that PIB has few films that I watch a million times-- like Vinny.

R F.

Since you seemed somewhat interested in the Joan of Arc info in this movie, check out "The Messenger" to learn more of the story. Epic story.

Above Average Dave

Sutherland's portfolio is sooooo varied and eclectic. KELLY'S HEROs and ANIMAL HOUSE shows him as a stoner/oddball whereas THE DIRTY DOZEN shows him as a low IQ good guy and in MASH he's a jaded, alcohol-drenched surgeon. In THE EYE OF THE NEEDLE, he's a ruthless spy. In JFK he is the greek chorus of the overriding message of the movie. In all he remains a consummate actor. God Bless.

Mike Lemon

Or a Joan of Arc week with The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928), Joan of Arc (1999- miniseries), and The Messenger (1999), maybe with a bonus Joan of Arc (1948).

WastedPo

Frankly, I wish they would "rewatch" more movies that Carly didn't watch the first time. (I think they've only done this with the LOTR films so far.) "My Cousin Vinny" would be fun. I also think "A Few Good Men" would be good.

WastedPo

I think Face the Music is cute. It has its shortcomings, but I attribute those to the difficulties of shooting during a pandemic.

Nathan Jasper

Was Leelee sobieski in the miniseries or did she have her own movie?

Joe Mallard

That was a very entertaining reaction, hope we get more comedies in the future.
