Well I messed up a little haha! Last time I checked Gambit Part 1 and 2 were part of the winners of the poll, I assumed the two-parter would win. So I watched it, had a great time, and then realized it had been barely inched out of 4th place! SSSOOOO bonus episodes! We'll do this 2 parter (Gambit 1-2) and then the 4 winning episodes AND THEEEEENNNNN the finale too! Go Season 7!

rakesh

well thats my saturday sorted.

John Sullivan

Bonus episode? Good work being confusing, team 😂

Allan Rumberger

Honestly, this is a really fun two-parter. It's not a fan-favourite, but it's a great little self-contained adventure with really good performances from Stewart and Frakes.

PapaXan

A happy accident.

Dustin Rumsey

Can't be mad about that! Now we know, make it tight enough, we'll get that bonus ;)

Phil Stubblefield

That's the most delightful "mistake" I've seen in quite some time, Cassie! 😁

Michael Enos

Not a bad plan. We'll take the bonus episodes. :)

Uncle Phoenix

Happy Accident, kind of like the invention of Champagne.

pickupthepieces

I think Cassie is just glad to see Patrick Stewart back in his prime after Logan.

ArsTropica

So glad you got to see Gambit, which exposes the non-Starfleet side of the galaxy. It's a bit like sneaking off a guided tour and exploring a new city on your own.

Kane Is Able

Well, that's not fair to the other seasons. Now you have to do a bonus episode for each season. I'm pretty sure it's law, and we don't want you to get arrested.

Michael West

Maybe you are subconsciously wanting to watch more episodes..:)

ShazD

And here was me looking forward to Attached 😂. Not sure I can put myself through Gambit again even watching along

Doc Larry/old geezer

Good way to wrap up Star Trek next generation series. I think you’ll really enjoy the movies especially the crossover movie and the first full next generation movie .

MikeLL

What a struggle we put up against these episodes in the poll comments, and now this “happy accident!” It is to laugh, and will make most happy! This is why we love Cassie!!

Neil

As mistakes go, that's a fun one for all ;-)

Michael G

Being Star Trek, this is the superior kind of accident compared to; a transporter accident, or translation accident.

David Collins

Bank error in your favor. Collect $200. Seriously though, Gambit only just barely lost out at the wire, despite us putting on a full court press getting Attached across the goal. This is right, fitting and proper.

Samuel Champ

Wow! Even your mistakes are good!

Chris Clarke

Did you recognise the actress playing the isolationist pretending to be a Vulcan agent, Cassie? A clue: "See you next Ponfarr, Lieutenant!"🙂

Chris Clarke

In the future, Cassie, when you've finished your Trek marathon but need a top-up, we can occasionally vote for a top three for you to watch from a given series (I.e. TOS, TNG etc).

greggreggreg2000

Thank you for the bonus episodes! I love the ending with Data escorting Riker to the brig

Tom Furze

This is like reaching into my pocket and finding 2 twenty dollar bills I forgot I had. Always unexpected, but of course equally excited to have. Thank you for the “mistake.”

Andrew Buel

So after all the debating between Attached VS Gambit and Watch More Trek VS Stop Watching Trek Already, Cassie ends up watching a 2parter by accident. And enjoys it enough to post. If you can't find the humor in that I don't know what to tell you.

FleetAdmiralJ

lol OOPS. Well, bonus eps for us I guess!

rakesh

If the Ensign looked familiar, she was played by Sabrina Le Beauf; she played Sondra Huxtable, one of the Cosby Kids in The Cosby Show. I don't know about you, but I'm always impressed when I watch this episode that Worf managed to go to his happy place to avoid the resonator smackdown. Nice to see Cassie happy with predicting and saying the "Make it So" command. She's yet to do the whole "Space: The Final Frontier" speech, but I live in hope!

Steve Holton

Showtime! 🏀The great Los Angeles Lakers power forward “Big Game” James Worthy stars in these episodes as the extremely tall Klingon stopped for a “Health and Safety Inspection.” Good thing they weren’t looking for Pistons, Rockets or Heat. 😊

David Kent

This was one I hoped she would watch. I'm happy we got this little bonus.

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

I, for one, am happy this accident occurred. Aside from the extra content, this might be legitimately one of my favourite episodes series-wide.

Clarence Newman

Cassandra! Do you not realise that there were knock-down, drag-out punch-ups between the supporters of Gambit and the far superior supporters of Attached during the Season 7 poll? Some of us got bloody noses, atomic wedgies and sneezers in our Earl Grey tea before emerging victorious to hand you the bouquet that is Attached. And then you go watch Gambit as well. Leave me alone, young lady. I'm not kidding.

rakesh

I don't understand why that guy was so insistent about being paid in full. Half their crew weren't actually crew, and half of them died. So, in reality, there was less to share; hence, more money. You can tell none of them studied the Rules of Acquisition.

Chrissonator

I'm personally not complaining. :P The more the merrier. :D

PlayfulPB

Got so worried we weren't going to get Attached....great to see that this was a happy mistake!

Chrissonator
>>148121942

And the actress is such a positive presence, I just smile when I watch her speak in interviews, etc. :)

Chrissonator

Attached wasn't even on my radar for this season. lol

Thomas Thompson

In Star Trek the piece and exploration must come between episodes???

PianoDean

To quote Cassie from her ST:6 Undiscovered Country reaction...."Space Peace."

Jeff

Gambit!!! Geeshhh!!! That was the one (two-parter) episode I was hoping wouldn’t win so I was happy that it didn’t. In other seasons, I’ve watched along, side-by-side, with your reaction videos, but for this season, I think I’ll watch along only for Attached with your reaction, ahead of the series finale. I really feel that the voters let you down this time.

L A Lou Peña

I'm going to suggest you react to an Australian western. The Man From Snowy River. A movie that was based on a poem by A B Banjo Patterson. It has everything that you love in a movie. Coming of age. A Romeo and Juliet type love story. Horses, countryside, good blood raising action and excellent acting and directing

Scott Macaulay

I love how you even care about 'that guy'. That's the kind of heart that keeps me coming back.

Robert da Spruce

lol 😄 Won’t get any complaints out of me. The more the merrier!

Greg Quinn

The one klingon was a NBA player. Edit: his name is James Worthy, 6"9.

Robert da Spruce

Oh, and I’m not sure if you’ve said already or not. But I really hope you go back and watch S5:Ep19 First Duty before watching the Lower Decks episode. It really does add a lot of needed context

David Collins

Technically we didn't, Jeff. In point of fact, Gambit lost. :D

Jeff

True, Gambit didn’t win but I was really thinking of the other 3 winners, aside from Attached. They aren’t my favorites and a couple of them would benefit from some prior knowledge that Cassie won’t have unless she has been watching more earlier ST-TNG episodes without us.

KTVindicare

She's giving us bonus episodes!

dominantblaze
>>148129497

I mean... they've encountered plenty of new aliens, worlds, phenomena in the reacted-to episodes. And a lot more in the episodes that were skipped. But yes there's a lot more to it than just exploring, the episodes with good writing / character moments tend to be the fan favorites.

Rick Rodriguez

Me thinks Cassie doesn't want this TNG journey to end.

Clay F

Gambit was a close 5th but is a 2-parter. I may be in the minority but I like Gambit.

Clay F

Good point. I always think Picard when I see Patrick Steward, but Picard and Charles are both excellent characters -- both grow on you.

Clay F

Yeah, I am glad Attached made it. That is what she has been asking for. Now the 5th place Gambit made it in an accident, similar to the 5th place I, Borg did as a bonus.

Clay F

I like Gambit too

Thomas Thompson
>>148129497

I just meant that in the show it’s supposed to be a kind of utopian society and they’re on a mission of exploration but week after week they run into crisis and conflict. It was just a joke

Clay F

Glad we got Attached

Clay F

Parallels is good

Ian A

Hey, I am always down for Bonus Episodes!!

Dean Holt

Well that was a nice mistake, I also now apologise to everyone that voted for Gambit as I really enjoyed watching it this time round. It definitely helped you were really getting into it and there was a few things you said that made me laugh like “Is that a Spock” 😂😂. But I am also happy your still watching attached as I really think you will like that one. Just a couple of things in the episode, the reason why the very tall Klingon poured his drink on the floor is because Klingons don’t drink with there enemies. Also when you mentioned about the interference near the beginning. If you watch all the episodes you will find it comes up time to time. Basically if they are in trouble you can bet the thing that will help them out. Something will happen to make it go off line or need a long repair. For example if they need to get someone off a planet ASAP the transporter will go down or if they need to chase or get away from another ship the warp engine will get damaged. Its not to bad on TNG but It pretty much happens on every episode on Star Trek Voyager lol. Also I know it’s a long way off and I’ll probably mention it again, but now you really like Patrick Stewart I really think you should watch his version of A Christmas Carol from 1999. It also stared Richard E. Grant.

Keith Jones

I think you are just not ready for this to end ;)

Chris Retzlaff

Is that a Spock...no. But it might be a Savik. Robin Curtis is always great.

Uncle Phoenix

She has such a distinctive speaking voice. Every scene that she had lines, I kept seeing her doing the Pom’Foor Vulcan finger dance with Spock.

Walter

These were some fun episodes. But the Resonator is a seriously stupid weapon. Peace being the solution is groan inducing. It's as bad as the 5th Element being Love. But great character stuff and I love when the team goes undercover.

Ben Livingstone

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practise to deceive."

Clay F

There was no indication of the Picard disappearance in a previous episode, so you didn't miss anything. When I see Patrick Stewart, I always think Picard. The X-Men Charles is also an excellent character. They both grow on you. A mercenary is a private individual who fights in an armed conflict for personal gain and is not a member of any official military. I liked it when you nailed that "Make it so." To me, the Gambit 2-parter are above-average episodes of S7. I like Gambit.

Greg Quinn

Yep...seems he went on vacation to do some free lance archeology stuff.

Peter Rising

So happy we got Gambit after all. I knew Cassie would enjoy this one!!

Clarence Newman

Those "plot devices" where crucial systems go down at the worst possible time, Dean...Star Trek is legendary for that. The perfect example for me is the warp core ejection system. Every single time the warp core is about to overload and the Captain calls for it to be ejected, he/she gets the same response: "Warp core ejection system is offline." I'm not complaining, of course, because that's always the cue for an extra half hour of exciting headless chicken, but if I was the captain, I'd be firing the guy who's in charge of that.

Clarence Newman

Cassie. As you didn't go and check the final poll results and made your decision early, I feel a duty to point out that "Genesis" made a late surge and actually won the poll with 98% of the vote. No need to check, my word is gold pressed latinum. Also, you know you want to.

Peter Rising

I personally prefer Gambit to Attached and was sad it lost out in the poll, but I do think it's comparing Apples and Oranges. Attached is definitely more the sort of episode that we all would think Cassie will appreciate more, but I have to say it did put a smile on my face seeing just how much she enjoyed and got on board with the rollercoaster ride of Gambit. Extra eps for Cassie and all of us is win win though. 😊

Clarence Newman

Absolutely right, Peter. Attached was a must for Cassie, but beyond that, I'm fine with Gambit or most other episodes making it too (but not Journey's End. NEVER Journey's End!) As long as you're a fan of these Trek reactions, bonus episodes ("Genesis!") will always be welcome.

Kharak

Genesis is also my guilty pleasure in terms of scary episodes, right alongside VOY: Macrocosm

Clarence Newman

It's all ruined, Jon. She needs to start from the beginning and bring Carly with her.

MikeLL

I just learned this today! 😂 I saw James Worthy's name in the opening credits of the second episode, and I thought that couldn't be the 7 time All Star, 3 time NBA Champion James Worthy of the Los Angeles Lakers? But it was after the Klingon shuttle pilot was off screen that I realized it was him! Of course Cassie thought he was really tall! 😂 He didn't really have to act, just look stoic! Of course, me being a huge ACC basketball fan I know that the UNC Tar Heel basketball team with Sam Perkins, James Worthy, and Michael Jordan was one of the greatest teams in ACC history. It was Worthy who was the receiver of an errant Georgetown pass in the final seconds of the 1982 NCAA Championship game right after Michael Jordan made the game winning shot.

Steve Holton

Mike, yeah 3 great Tar Heel players that were cool under pressure. Better have a "health and safety inspection" of anyone they're up against! 😊

David Collins

I think the show was killed off when they finally got a QA department at Starfleet to keep all of this faulty equipment from making it into service, hence taking all of the drama out of the show.

David Collins

When I see Picard, I see him with a bandage on his face. Think "Conspiracy Theory" here. I simply can't help it. The events leading to said bandage on Stewart's stately (if decidedly enlonged proboscused) face are just too visceral to ever forget.

David Collins

Tell me you have Ferengi blood, without telling me you have Ferengi blood.

Clarence Newman

To all Trek fans, I'd recommend a set of books called "The Nitpickers Guide" by Phil Farrand. There's one for every series from TOS to DS9. As meticulously discovered by Farrand (who was a superfan, not a hater), there are literally hundreds of errors, equipment malfunctions, changed premises etc in the Original Series (eg Kirk getting a request to come to the bridge immediately while he's walking through a lower corridor in his GOLD shirt, only to enter the bridge seconds later in his GREEN V-neck), but by the time Farrand got to DS9, he was hard-pressed to find anything. Today's shows are more efficient, but I do miss those frontier days when entertainment ruled over everything having to be "correct".

K, Zachary

Cassie, so you didn't pay attention, do what Taylor Swift says and Shake It Off had to make sure it was Taylor's version https://youtu.be/M_JiMkVx0FU?si=1BhgcofTfNSrS0Pu These are good episodes to fall asleep to. My gf Eva and I were curled up on the couch together focused on you so we wouldn't fall asleep.

Clay F

It's been so long since I watched Conspiracy Theory. Are you saying that when you see Patrick Stewart, you always think his character in Conspiracy Theory?

Clay F

While Genesis was not an option to vote for in the S7 final poll, Genesis did finish fairly solid in the initial S7 poll 2 of 2. May be too weird for some. Each season, I had an episode I wanted Cassie to react to over one of the winners in the final 4.

BibbitduBois

Fun fact: the very tall Klingon in part 2 is played by James Worthy, a well-known retired professional basketball player.

Stephen Dias

In addition to Robin Curtis, some viewers might also recognize Julie Caitlin Brown, who would later appear as a regular on Babylon 5 and Sabrina La Beauf from The Cosby Show. Richard Lynch also appeared on a ton of movies and TV episodes.

Stephen Dias

Well, that explains it. He's one tall dude!

Clarence Newman

Weird but entertaining. A good one for an October special, along with maybe Schisms, which I watched again last night. That's a better episode than I remembered.

Clarence Newman

It's actually half a great weapon and half useless. If you want to use it to hurt someone who means you no harm, then it's useless. But if you're being attacked by an aggressive foe, it will kill them in an instant. Then again, "kill them in an instant" is a bit of a stretch. It only kills one person at a time, it works very slowly and only if the target stays still while the shimmery blanket drifts towards them. You were right in the first place, Walter. A seriously stupid weapon!

Clarence Newman

I can think of one other Star Trek weapon that's even more stupid than the Resonator, but it wasn't in the series. This one was from a Star Trek novel I read years ago by Peter David. It was a big laser gun that was so powerful that, when you fired it, it would literally destroy everything in its path. Problem was it had no range limit, so once fired it would hug the ground, circumnavigate the globe and end up shooting whoever fired the gun right up his chocolate .

Ike

Bonus! Okay, that was quite good! Lots of great moments that I’d forgotten - like the World’s Most Cordial reprimand between Data and Worf. And I completely forgot that the Vulcan “Tallera” was played by the beautiful Robin Curtis, aka “Lt. Savaak”from the TOS movies.

p0sthum4n

The alien captain in Gambit is so hilarious to me and my brother because of his completely unadulterated New York accent. Guy came from the planet Brooklynios IV.
