With that many entries I fear the greatness of Interstellar will never win...

Chris Thom

Whining works way too well on this channel. But thank you Cassie.

Rick Rodriguez

Cmon, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!

Gray

think i better resubmit my entry just be to sure

Popcorn In Bed
>>163752027

Ah I see! Yeah anytime from the 1st-5th of each month is the drawing! And as a professional procrastinator it's usually the latter part!

Rose
>>163752019

I also enjoyed “Interstellar” but I thought retired astronaut and engineer Chris Hadfield fact checking notable space movies (including Interstellar) was very fascinating: https://youtu.be/3RkhZgRNC1k?si=hu0BrQrvObrbvGx4 **Contains Spoilers** don’t watch if you haven’t seen any of the space movies mentioned in the video

Chris Thom
>>163752019

She was just saying the other day on the chat that she knew a rewatch with Carly would do well on the channel. So maybe if a few bombs (or 40's movies) happen she'll bust it out for a win.

Celeste McAllister

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea 1954,doing it for an old friend 🧡

Henry Arndt
>>163752779

Especially Torgo! I’d love to see her and Carly not know whether to laugh or be concerned. 😂😂😂

JohnnyUtah
>>163752019

Hmm I thought she had said she didn't see it, only the beginning 15 mins, I could be mistaken though.

Chris Thom
>>163753152

Ahh I remember that ride at Disneyworld. I was 7 so didn't know the book or movie yet at the time. But it's a great story.

JohnnyUtah
>>163752019

Got ya, well I'll keep submitting it then, and hope she forgets she saw it at all. 😅

Michael West

Wow, 475 entries?! That's gonna keep you busy for a while.

Chris Thom
>>163753535

Nah they all go on the wheel, spin for a whin, and then vanish after that. New entries for March.

Rick Rodriguez
>>163753152

Chris. I remember being so excited to be a passenger on the Nautilus as a wee lad. Even though it was just an underwater track, mu imagination was in full swing and thought it was the coolest.

Dan M

Man, I wish I had the power of telekinesis. I’d be subtly stopping that randomizer just as it approached School Ties.

Celeste McAllister
>>163753152

My friend is an elderly gentleman whom watched this movie in the theater when it was 1st released, because back in the day on a Hot scorching day in the midwest, movie theaters were equipped with A/C🌞🔥

Chris Thom
>>163753152

I know Disneyland had something really similar but I don't think it was Nautilus themed. My sister loved it but I always got super claustrophobic on it.

Joe

Hope a horror movie wins...wouldn't that just wreak LOVE month, LOL.

Celeste McAllister
>>163753152

Disneyland had the submarines they looked navy like, put out loads of diesel fumes...and mermaids and a sea serpent 🐍

Chris Thom
>>163753735

Just saw that last month. It was good. Not sure if I remember right, but I think Ben Affleck was in there somewhere.

Dan M
>>163753735

Yeah, it was a surprisingly small part considering his buddy Matt Damon is one of the leads. Such a good movie.

Richard Maurer

My pick should win because it’s better than your pick.

Chris Thom
>>163752019

She did make it sound like it would happen eventually. And that was last week.

Darren Harrison

I actually fear Cassie would not get that my pick “Flash Gordon” (1980) is fun precisely because it’s a goofy mess. She also didn’t like the other Queen soundtracked “Highlander”

Chris Thom
>>163756981

Full disclosure, she was talking a bit more s**t about Highlander last week on the Extra Butter Chat. But also could prime her that it was a main inspiration for Star Wars.

Omar

We’re 2 minutes away from learning if we’re watching the Star Wars Holiday Special

zynjams

hoping the Majestic wins, been bugging PiB for 3 years for that movie

zynjams

is it 8 40 now

Hutch
>>163758047

Don't appear to be. Or I'm technologically challenged

Richard Maurer

Who picked Cocoon? Waste of a pick. Pretty much unavailable.

Jim

WIND RIVERRRR

Jim

YOU HAVE TO PICK IT MOST EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER EVER

Han

There’s always next month lol

zynjams

so many great movies on your list, and the full monte pops up, darn it

Mark Duedall
>>163752029

The Killer Tomatoes sequel has George Clooney in the cast. NOT kidding - he recovered from this dud but he was in it.

Luke Godfrey

I saw my name and pick so that’s good. I also saw someone else picked Temple Grandin too. More chances for Cassie to discovery this amazing movie is fine by me.

Thomas Thompson

Soilent Green and the Omega man complete the trifecta of brilliant Charlton Heston sci-fi films for the late 60s early 70s

Mike Lemon

I didn't see my name on the list.

Jason Henderson

Thank you Cassie for all the hard work 😓 And sharing your time . You have a good heart! Thank you

Steve Holton

No Way Out - 1987 was chosen. With Kevin Costner, Gene Hackman, Sean Young.

Chris Thom
>>163760102

Me neither. Again. Aggghhhhhhh! Had something to do with the email address.

Richard Maurer

I really didn’t see my name, but it was fun hearing Cassie say the name of my movie, which is as close to a reaction it’s ever been, so far.

Mike Lemon
>>163760102

That wasn't my problem because I used the same one listed 2 inches above where the form input line is.

Just Plain Bob

Writing this in the hope that Cassie sees it. In her just concluded live, she said that she’d been told not to watch the rest of the original “Planet of the Apes” films because they’ll spoil the remake series. If she wants to skip them, that’s her decision. But it shouldn’t be based on this bit of misinformation. I don’t know what the motivation was behind telling her that the original series would spoil the remake series, but it’s 100% false. Beyond the fact that both series feature talking apes, they couldn’t be more different.

Just Plain Bob
>>163760072

“The Omega Man” departs substantially from the source material but is still the best adaptation of “I Am Legend.” Certainly far better than that piece of crap starring Will Smith.

Chris Thom
>>163760102

Yeah I'm not sure what the issue was. But I'm hearing that Beastie Boys song in my head right now.

GomezAddams

I thought about pylon in Canada was a hockey fight.

David Patterson

For those who didn't see their names on the list, I swear heard her say at the start that duplicates were removed.

Gray

Gotta feel for the that Full Monty picker

Thomas Thompson
>>163760072

The original film production of I am legend starring Vincent Price from I believe the early 60s in black-and-white is kind of an interesting watch, especially if you like Vincent Price, and it was curiously set in the United States, but filmed in Rome

David Patterson
>>163761726

it says it in the description above. So Matt Rose and i had the the same pick. I ws on the list but he wasn't

Samuel Champ

Didn't win, but that's a good one!

Steve Holton
>>163760615

Sorry Anthony, it's a great film, but "The Full Monty" was a second, just for fun, pick. The official winner, the thriller "No Way Out", was drawn a few minutes before.

Nolofinwe

Cassie. You have to give yourself veto rights

Nolofinwe

Ugh ! Taylor Swift. What are we 10yrs old I give the phony marriage a year

J

your awkward dismounts are the best, lol

Mojo One Thousand
>>163761726

Duplicates aren't based on movie, they are based on the person submitting. If a person, based on the email address (which needs to match the Patreon email address), enters more than one submission only one is counted - I think it may be which ever submission is last.

Hiraoka Toru

My pick was not on the wheel. Something went wrong with my submission. or I clicked last month's link if that is possible. Is it a new link every month?

D. T. Nelson

The Full Monty is better than No Way Out, but know what's better than both of them?... Hidalgo.

V M
>>163760656

Yes, I saw it many times as I was scrolling through looking for my non-existent name.

David Collins

Here's an idea. "Spin Again" every month, then at the end of the year, have a "Spin Again" poll for Christmas, with all of the "spin Again" winners on it.

Larry Darrell

Cassie… Is there any way that you could release the full list of names that was used in the Pick-a-Flick? I paused the video EVERY time you scrolled, and never saw my name. 30 minute video took me an hour. (Alphabetization would really help ;-) I know you’ve had trouble with my email in the past sending me things. Don’t know if email factors into it. Please and Thanks. PS: who is Ammad?

Jacob King

Whoever picked Sleepers deserved to win

Mark Vaderr

Cassie, this was fun, but I feel that you need to watch The Full Monty as well. Doing that second spin isn't exactly fair to the person whose name came up. It's difficult for someone to "win" this once let alone twice. That's just my opinion. I know that if my name had come up on the second spin and it was all just for fun, I would be upset.

thebeefmaster

You may want to try just putting all qualifying patron's names on the wheel. Spin twice for a winner and a backup. Contact the winner via email and patron DM. Give the winning name 24 hours to contact you with their pick. No response after 24 hours, then give the backup 24 hours to contact you. This way the winner and you can be sure to select a movie that you have not seen. This would also end having to collect 475 movie choices and having patrons remember to make their submissions. Two no responses, better luck next month everyone.

SeanATX

If you’re not able to figure out a way to display all the submissions, might I suggest just alphabetizing them and scrolling semi-slowly so people can check. Then just hit shuffle a couple times before you spin.

Larry Darrell
>>163770199

Alphabetize and do a SLOW scroll from top to bottom. If our picks are not being submitted, then there’s a problem, and I would like to figure out how to fix it.

Clarence Newman
>>163765188

Same for me, Larry. All the way down, all the way up, several times, pausing every time she scrolled, and no sign of mine. The fact that it's not alphabetized makes it all the harder.

Clarence Newman

And making Joe Cross win twice before he gets Full Monty is just cruel, Cassie. I'm sort of joking, but please don't do a second spin "just for fun" if you're not going to watch it. It's a purgatory play. Furthermore, The Full Monty is BRILLIANT!

Clarence Newman

Furthermore to my furthermore, we love Cassie and try not to add to her stress levels, but in regard to her HEINOUS decision to do the second spin "just for fun", we need to pull together and harangue her relentlessly so she watches The Full Monty aswell. It's for her own good guys. She must be saved from her very self.

Clay F
>>163774586

I said "no" to the second spin, but she salvaged it nicely with the prize to Joe Cross of getting 2 picks if he wins next spin. I would not complain if I was Joe.

Clarence Newman
>>163774586

2 picks IF he wins the NEXT spin. That's a hell of a long shot, probably even more so as the wheel chose his film already. I mean, what are the odds? Much easier for her to watch The Full Monty anyway and just not do it again. Problem solved.

TheSingulatarian

The new Planet of the Apes movies really are not spoiled by the originals. The new movies have completely new stories. There are "Easter Eggs" little nods to the original films, but they are in no way spoiled.

Milton William Burray

Great winner! Although my nomination wasn't on there that I could see 🤷‍♂️ If you sorted the list A-Z I could be more sure

Clarence Newman

OK, just did a run through of the video again, this time checking for the names of everybody who's posted saying theirs wasn't there. As far as I can see (and this assumes you've used your chatroom name and not something different), only one of the names actually appears. Hiraoka's pick is there (Quo Vadis, right?), but there's no V M, Matt Rose, Chris Thom, Mike Lemon, Larry Darrell or Clarence Newman. EDIT: Or Milton. That's not a name you can miss. Outcasts we are.

Mike Lemon
>>163780481

I knew it! The haters are conspiring against me to keep Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995) from the people who are screaming for it! They're all against me! Oh, they're against you others too... I guess. (jk)

Milton William Burray
>>163780481

This is why I experience a paranoid persecution complex But the winner was good so it's cool. Hopefully in future they'll have a properly viewable list to get it all sorted Someone suggested just randomly select from the names of current patrons and ask them to then submit their nomination, which seems simpler and more fool proof

Milton William Burray
>>163774586

I think a fairer course - if not just straight up watching the movie - would be to add Fully Monty to the next poll at least, so we can vote for it

Clarence Newman
>>163774586

That would be double cruel, Milt, because it sets poor Joe up to lose out twice. Cassie made a mistake (a sizable number of patrons care too much about getting their pick watched to dangle one like that), so the only reasonable course is A) to watch Monty anyway, and B) NEVER DO A "JUST FOR FUN" RESPIN AGAIN! We love you, Cassie, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Milton William Burray
>>163774586

Yeah she had a moment of madness, we'll attribute it to a long day and too much caffeine. I think when Cassie has slept on it she will just watch Full Monty anyway

Above Average Dave
>>163760615

Great winner! Congratulations whomever had that as their choice. Cassie will love the young Kevin Costner (again).

Dean Holt

I’ve already said in a previous post, you don’t really need to watch the original sequels. As they are all average to poor (especially the 2nd one), from a business POV I don’t see them getting many views on YouTube ether and if you watch the newer ones before the old movies as long as you’ve watched the first one their isn’t any spoilers I can think of. Yes there’s a few nods to the older films and some Easter eggs you wouldn’t pick up on, but that’s not really a big deal. But if you do decide to watch them all I’m perfectly fine with it, you could also revisit them later. I’d definitely support you watching the Marky Mark film as I personally don’t think it’s as bad as people make out yes it definitely has it’s problems but it’s definitely worth a watch. Also pointless fact The Full Monty was filmed in Sheffield where I was born and still live. As you can guess we don’t have much to shout about regarding films 😂😂.

Dean Holt
>>163774586

Pointless fact The Full Monty was filmed in Sheffield where I was born and still live. As you can guess we don’t have much to shout about regarding films 😂😂. As it’s this and Patrick Stewart was born about 20 miles away from me 😂😂.

Eddie Perkins

I didn't play this month because I got a win in the first month, and I would feel like a douche if I won twice in a row. But I'm glad No Way Out won. And I have $100 on Philly to win; the refs have turned me against Kansas City.

Keith Jones

OMG I ran around my house arms raised screaming (a pure “Home Alone” homage) when I heard “No Way Out”. Next I grabbed my DVD, set it next to the computer… is it ready….are we there yet…now?

Clarence Newman
>>163774586

Nonsense, Dean. What about When Saturday Comes starring Ned Stark? A fine little fusball movie. I do think Patrick Stewart might be what tips Cassie over into watch Monty, though, so fingers crossed she reads this far.

Keith Jones

And just a thought, while I embrace everyone’s right to their opinion, Sahara pushed that mindset to the extreme… Sahara…listen to me drugs will kill you, seek help 😜

Gray
>>163780481

I asked in the chat if I was on there and she said I was but going through the list today my name is missing

Daniel Karlsson

If you skip any ape movie that should be War for the planet of the apes.

Clay F
>>163774586

Cassie emphasized before spinning that the 2nd spin does not count. So impossible for Joe to win anything that spin. As for the next spin that counts, Joe will have the same chance as everyone else but will get 2 picks whereas everyone else only the one pick. The Full Monty coming up on a spin that didn’t count in no way affects how The Full Monty should be treated but only brings attention to the movie. I think at most, the movie could be included in a poll. That would be a huge gift for Joe. Cassie gave no indication that whatever came up on the second spin that didn’t count would be included in a poll.

Joe
>>163774586

I'm with Clarence on this one. Meaningless draws are cruel.

Thomas Thompson
>>163760072

I prefer Omega Man as well. But Last Man is an interesting curiosity if you like Vincent Price or old sci fi.

Clarence Newman
>>163774586

I get your point, Clay, but my opinion hasn't changed. She shouldn't have done that and should really take the easy route to fixing it. There's no blame levied at Cassie, but the offer she made to Joe is no consolation at all. The odds are just too high of the wheel picking him again.

Mike LL
>>163766773

The thing is only 400+ submissions mean that not all patrons are participating. If you put all "qualifying" patrons in, including many who never planned to participate, you will pull a winner that just won't respond. This way, the odds are better for those of us who DO participate!

Larry Darrell
>>163774586

She’s already giving someone else 2 picks, when some of us can’t even get a chance for one.

Mike LL

I did notice my name and film in there, as well as several films that are already up as reactions. And whoever put it in, no she will NOT watch The Exorcist, no reason to put that in as a Pick (and they put in the Director's cut as well!).

Larry Darrell

What is the best way to contact a Mod, in order to figure out why some of us were left out of the Pick-a-Flick? If there’s a problem on my end, I would like to fix it. Please and Thanks.

Clarence Newman
>>163780481

She often does that, Larry. It's safe to say she rarely agrees with my drivel. At least this time she didn't skip mine and then carry on dropping likes. 😀

Gábor Árki

I'm relieved my pick didn’t win the second spin. It would have been devastating to beat the 0.2% odds only to not to get a reaction. Cassie, please don't do that again if you don't intend to watch the movie. By the way, The Full Monty is a fun little film and would have been my preference over No Way Out. It received multiple Oscar nominations in 1998 and won for Best Music. I'm not sure who suggested that watching the old Planet of the Apes films would spoil the new ones, but I think they were mistaken. It's been a while since I last saw the originals, but from what I remember, they tell very different stories and only share the core premise. The new films do include some Easter eggs and references, but that's about it. The same is true for the 2001 Burton movie.

Chris Thom
>>163780481

Oh my God, it's a mirage...I'm tellin' ya'll it's SABOTAAAAGGEEE. bom bom bom buh bom wicky wicky wicky

Chris Thom
>>163764209

For me Ben said I used a capital in my e-mail address or something? I don't know I still don't really get it. My e-mail was already attached to the submission without entering.

Steve Holton
>>163802603

Hi Larry Darrell, Discord is usually the best way to contact mods for PIB. Kaielle reviews most posts and ItsMeDave, Coleton B. and Jon Johns are very active as well. One issue raised in the discussion: It is important to use the same email address on the Pick-a-Flick entry form as the email address used for your Patreon account. That is their way of validating your entry.

Dave
>>163802603

Feel free to dm me with the email address attached to your Patreon account and the screen name you entered on the form. I'll see what I can do

Richard Maurer
>>163763012

Kind of defeats the whole “pick whatever movie you want” thing. Besides Cassie can veto any film already - any film on her nope list that is. But vetoing a film just because some (or even all) of the patrons don’t want to see it is a no go. No one is forcing anyone to watch anyway.

Richard Maurer
>>163765025

@ Mike - I would not have been happy if my pick had come up. Cassie would have received a strongly worded comment if it had. If she wants to spin again, fine, but then you have to watch the movie that comes up. As long as she does that she can spin a dozen times if she wants. I do not care one bit about The Full Monty, but Cassie should definitely watch it now.

Mark White

CASSIE, I’ve just gone through the list 5 times and I CANT see my pick “touching the void” There is a “enter the void” from Martin. But I’m sure it’s not there? Could you please check for me? Thank you and most appreciated 🙂 I will pop this in FAQ just in case this is missed.

Richard Maurer
>>163766401

Don’t care at all about The Full Monty, and I 100% agree with Mark - Cassie should watch it now.

Richard Maurer
>>163766773

Yeah she would need to make more than just two spins. Say at least five to make sure you actually got somebody who would care.

Larry Darrell
>>163828498

You’re not alone. If you know how to get into Discord, that appears to be the best place to talk to a Moderator or Ben. I think they can tell you exactly why you were left out. I will be checking in there myself tonight. There is possibly something wrong with our E-Mails, and Capitalized letters. That’s all I know at this time.

Richard Maurer
>>163774586

All I know is if that had been my movie that had came up on the 2nd spin I would have to seriously consider leaving her Patreon - that’s how angry I would have been.

Cole Jennett

I don’t get the complaints about the second spin, it was just for her own fun. Big deal!

Richard Maurer
>>163802368

She already said she won’t watch films on her Nope list. Did that person think she was just going to say “ well I have to watch it now” if it had won. SMH

Richard Maurer
>>163790863

I don’t think we’re allowed to win more than once anyway. More emphasis should be put on that fact so people can be a little more careful with their picks Edit: if I’m wrong about not being able to win twice please enlighten me.

Mark White
>>163828498

It is Chris, that’s why I beleave I have been left of the list. “Martin” must be a genuine Patreon, I don’t think they have miss spelt the movie title AND my name?!

Mike Lemon
>>163830434

Because it is like showing a starving man a picture of a foot long turkey-italiano then saying, "Well you probably would have liked that. Sucks to be you."

Mark White

Ok, it is starting to look like quite a few got left off the list. Simple solution: once we have all the people who were left off, back in the list, just do another spin! Job done 😃 We will just end up with two again this month. No probs

Richard Maurer
>>163830434

@Cole - So you would have been fine if your pick came up and she didn’t watch it? Because I sure wouldn’t have been. Personally I’m just feeling empathetic toward the person who picked The Full Monty.

Mark White
>>163828498

That’s fine, but they need to be abit more careful then. I just wonder who is putting the list together?

thebeefmaster
>>163766773

Tweek if needed. If it is a total disaster she can always go back to the other way or some other new method. I will say that this model is being successfully used by another channel with over 1300 paid patrons and there seems to be few, if any, complaints.

Gray
>>163833263

Now we know why there was alot less people this month in the draw, early doors yet sure this will all get sorted for the next draw.

Cole Jennett
>>163830434

Nope, wouldn’t have been bothered by it at all. It would have been just another chance to get a movie I want seen on her radar. Come on guys, your first instinct can’t always be to complain, can it?

Mike Lemon
>>163833263

The problem is this can never be fixed. Do another draw- everybody not left off just got an extra try, give the people left off their own draw- their odds are massively better, watch the left off's movies- they automatically win, give the left off's a bonus entry- their chances are better again. The best that can be done is either publish the list of names *before* the month is over so people have a chance to confirm if their name is there or send a confirmation email when the entry is made. Oh, and have Cassie watch Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995), but that goes without saying.:-)

Richard Maurer
>>163830434

My first instinct when I see a wrong is to try and make it right. This was a mistake on Cassie’s part. Not mad at her, we all make mistakes, but this one should be corrected. And watching Full Monty is an easy way to fix it.

Mike Lemon
>>163802603

@Dave- And the people that can't do that? (not everybody is fine with discord)

Richard Maurer
>>163830434

And by the way Cole, saying you wouldn’t be bothered at all - that’s fine for you, but I would bet that yours is a minority opinion.

Canadianant

I was happy to see that at least 2 other people besides me are going for the Blues Brothers (1980)

Cole Jennett
>>163830434

If she hadn’t said that she was going to spin again just for the fun of it, maybe there’d be a case to watch it. But she did. Same reason the extra pulls from the pillow case didn’t count. She’s allowed to do things she finds fun.

Mike Lemon
>>163765025

@Richard- I would have been pissed. I think we have both paid several hundred dollars in our Patreon fees here, if I would have gotten that steel toed boot to the groin The Full Monty guy got, I don't know if I could have stopped the expletive laden rant I would write.

Clarence Newman
>>163790863

Clarification, Richard. Most people are not allowed to win twice. You and me are not allowed to win once.

Gábor Árki
>>163828498

I watched the scrolling part a few times. I think some people who say they don’t see themselves on the list might still be there. Cassie’s scrolling speed seems to move the list more than a full page of visible names at a time.

David Collins
>>163830434

@Cole 100% agree with you. All of the "strongly worded comments" and other snide things being suggested as a result all amount to mere entries into the "why we can't have nice things" category. Cassie was under no obligation to provide this, it's fun, it's supposed to be fun, and yet we get a boatload of boat rockers. I don't get it.

Mark White

Could be Gabor, but I used the pause and magnifier on my pc, checked multiple times, making sure I kept a eye on a name at the bottom of the list and then as it passed up the list. Mike, good thoughts. She said a new system is coming that will apparently show a list of the entries with names when you enter your selection.

Clay F
>>163830434

I agree with Cole. While I said "no" to the 2nd spin because I didn't want to see patrons whining about it, she plainly made clear that the spin didn't count before spinning. I would have loved for my selection to come up on that 2nd spin -- gives attention to my movie on the channel. I have never noticed "The Full Monty" mentioned on the channel before -- at least not signficantly. Now, it's on her radar. That's a plus for the patron (Joe).

Clay F
>>163807436

Definitely don't react to TFM. Before spinning, Cassie made plainly clear that the 2nd spin didn't count. It's not rocket science but instead simple comprehension.

I agree generally that the original sequels can be skipped. Yet, I am opposite of you in that I like the 2nd sequel the best. The 4th is the worse. 1. IMDb 6.0, RT 37% = Beneath (1970) 2. IMDb 6.3, RT 76% = Escape (1971)** 3. IMDb 6.1, RT 52% = Conquest (1972) 4. IMDb 5.4, RT 36% = Battle (1973)

I liked the Tim Roth performance in the Marky Mark film (the Tim Burton 2001 remake) She said she might react to that at the very end. IMDb 8.0, RT 86% (audience 88%) = 1968 original IMDb 5.7, RT 43% (audience 27%) = 2001 remake

Clay F
>>163774586

Clarence, the odds are reset each spin. Joe coming up on this 2nd spin that didn’t count has no effect on (does not alter) his odds for the spin next month. The next spin, Joe has the same odds as every one else.

I wish my selection came up on that 2nd spin to bring attention, and I would feel dumb demanding a reaction on a spin she said didn’t count before spinning.

Clay F
>>163766773

That doesn’t make sense at all. Do one spin for the winner. The name/film that comes up is the winner. No reason to add layers of communication afterwards — instead just react to the winner. The first reactor I subscribed to (which was in 2023) has a wheel spin (at least once per month but often weekly), and she just reacts to the winner. Not complicated at all. Has worked great for over a year. The issue of patron submissions not being listed as an entry is a different issue. Cassie said that a new system is coming for patrons to enter their selection and that you will be able to see all of the entries (name/film).

Clay F

The community tab is there on the left on desktop. It is also a jumbled mess that I hate even looking at. "Coleton just posted in a thread … that bgb1975(Brian/Yosemite Sam) started" So buried in another thread. And nobody sees this as a problem? They have the names that were screwed over right here in this post, but if we don't head over to a hidden comment in the train wreck of the community tab, well sucks to be you. At the very least make a top level comment and have Cassie make an announcement post here. This whole mess-up has been handled badly.

Larry Darrell

I agree. I don’t do social media either. Only got Discord going because I thought I needed it for trivia. Going to eat now, then afterwards going to check with Dave on Discord. I can ask about you if you want? Maybe see if it was Capital letters in the E-Mail, which I think could be my problem. Which is Ridiculous.

Mike Lemon
>>163830434

Everything is a criticism? What? People in this post are complaining of two things, both being a problem with the drawing. 1-Paying customers were left off the drawing for unknown reasons, and 2-Some poor guy got groin kicked out of a win. Both of those deserve to be addressed.

Clay F

As is currently being done, do one spin for the winner = "the spin for the winner." The name/film that comes up is the winner. Then, react to the winner. Not complicated. That month, do as many subsequent spins as you want that don't count as "the spin for the winner." For instance, do a 2nd spin to bring attention to the entry that comes up as a favor to the patron. Or that month, you could do multiple subsequent spins to provide candidates for a poll. As for entries not being listed, you said there is a new system coming for patrons to enter their selection and that patrons will be able to see all of the entries (names/films).

Milton William Burray
>>163830434

@Cole, but everything is not criticism is it? As Cassie has more simps than any other reactor; Just look at how many gifts she gets. A room full of boxes several times a year She can run all the 'just for fun' spins she likes and the customers can also have their say

Milton William Burray
>>163774586

It's still kind of a jerky, and totally unnecessary, thing to do. Cassie can run a million spins for fun off camera, nothing stopping her. Why tease the non-winner?

Milton William Burray
>>163766773

The reason being that manually adding each patron's submission is obviously not working, There were 400 entries from 3,300 patrons. This way everyone is added automatically and everyone who is currently subbed gets an even shot

Milton William Burray
>>163763148

@Cole, A don't like the Backstreet Boys either. Must be because I'm 'threatened' by them. Can't possibly be because I just think they're garbage There always has to be some more meaningful underlying psychology if one doesn't like a female celeb...we HAVE to like them!

Mike Lemon

@Milton- The drawing is only for the $10 and up tiers. I think there probably are only 500 or so paying that.

Richard -- not white knighting at all -- I've disagreed with Cassie on many things -- and have expressed such at times. This is not about defending Cassie but instead objectively pointing out that the 2nd spin is a positive for the patron. "The Full Monty" is more likely to be reacted to because of that 2nd spin than without the 2nd spin. You, Milton, Mike, Clarence, etc. can characterize the 2nd spin as negative but doesn't make sense to me. Seems a bit of melodrama.

Hi everyone! Ben has indicated that a number of members inputted email addresses on the Pick-a-Flick form that were unable to be found in the Membership Dashboard that Cassie and Ben have access to here on Patreon. Like the form states, the email address inputted must be the one associated with your Patreon account as this is how they are verifying entries. (Capital letters shouldn't make a difference, but obviously any mistype will.) To check the email you have associated with your account, click on the Settings link in the menu on the left hand side of patreon.com. The page that appears will have your display name and email address and whatever email is listed there is what Cassie and Ben see on their end. You have the ability to change your email address, if that makes it easier for the future! As noted by Cassie in the live stream, her and Ben are working on something that will avoid these isssues moving forward. Until Cassie and Ben release this, please ensure that you've submitted correct information into the form. Thanks all!

kaiielle
>>163802603

Yes, this would be easier if Patreon allowed members to privately message other members (like us mods!) but unfortunately the platform isn't set up for that. This is why we always bring up Discord, because it IS possible there and PIB members have DM'd us moderators here and there about issues since the Discord was formed. I just posted a comment about how to check the email you have on file with your Patreon account. The Pick-a-Flick forms have stated that you must input the email address that is on your Patreon account. @Larry, capital letters won't be an issue. That said, mistypes or inputting a different email address to the one you have on Patreon would be. @Mike, Cassie and Ben have been away all day and are still.

>>163857553

Hi there Mike! I'm Jon, one of the mods. I read thru most of the comment section here on this post, AND scroll thru some comments in Patron Chat. I saw one comment by you about not preferring Discord, which is fine. My personal e-mail has been widely puclic for years, JonJohns65@gmail.com <--- you can contact me directly if you don't like any of the other options. I know you are frustrated, and disappointed. I will be happy to gift you a month of PATREON for free, if that would help. and we are all working with BEN to remedy the situation. Cassie, you should know, really doesn't have anything to do with the production, so she shouldn't get any blame, BTW. It might seem like the help being provided to you is not helpful, but can you at least recognize the effort? If you want things fixed, you will likely need to participate in the problem solving, and by being helpful yourself, helps all of us, help you. (And others) Thanks so much for your patience as we iron out all the wrinkles, and address everyones concerns. -Jon

kaiielle
>>163857553

Just because the Google form auto-populates your Google email address, does not mean that's the same email that you have on your Patreon account. This is why there is a line on the Pick-a-Flick form for you to input your email address that is on your Patreon account. CT: Ben saw your messages in the live chat last night and asked one of us mods to let you know that you need to input the email address that you have with your Patreon account. This is why you were excluded (among others). The verification steps they asked for were not followed. I let you know this twice last night.

What was the point of the second spin? Ok, you’d be fine with it but it seems like a lot of people wouldn’t, going by this comment section. Mike Lemon
>>163857553

"gift you a month of PATREON for free, if that would help." No. I don't care about the money. "I know you are frustrated, and disappointed." You have no idea. "Cassie, you should know, ... shouldn't get any blame, BTW." I haven't blamed her at all for the missing entries. "but can you at least recognize the effort?" And can you recognize that people have been dying for years to get even a single movie they want to be seen? When they are stripped of that chance for seemingly no reason, a "check your email" isn't helpful at all. "you will likely need to participate in the problem solving" I don't have access to the logs. The most I can do is say, "HEY! Somebody out there listen for a minute," but it has been screaming into the void for almost a full day.

kaiielle

>>163830434

She said if his name comes up next time, she’d let him pick two movies. Seems fair - maybe she should draw five names for that potential (although drawing them for a spot poll is also a good idea). The odds of their name being drawn next time are not diminished, they’ll be the same as everyone else’s. The odds of being drawn two months in a row is extremely low, but once the names are drawn the first month, they have the same odds as everyone else the next month AND a shot at a double pick.

Hey everyone, so my problem is my email address on my Patreon account doesn’t match my actual email address I use! It’s because when I set up my Patreon account I used my I phone finger print. This apparently triggers apple to set up a relay email address which can not be changed without deleting my membership and starting/paying again! Mike Lemon
>>163857553

It isn't helpful because we have been hearing it for 20+ hours. All of us(?) that got removed managed to figure it out last month. Having Ben or Cassie or even the Pope say "check your email address" won't change what we have known for a while. Richard -- I definitely would want a subsequent spin to land on mine so that she would notice my movie, or for my movie to be included in a poll. I would realize otherwise that the second spin is meaningless in having no effect statistically on my chance to win the spin next month. I don't have your issues. How can something meaningless infuriate me? How can a spin of no consequence add stress or anger in my life?

Larry Darrell

Imagine for a moment, that you have requested a film maybe a 100+ times over the past 2 or more years on PiB. Such as… Mike Lemon for Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995) Björn Karlsson for Show Me Love (1998) Bill Maurer for The Searchers (1956) Imagine if one of those 3 had come up on the 2nd Spin. You’d be thrilled beyond belief… for about 3 seconds… then you realize it was “Just For Fun.” Ha Ha Ha. Now maybe, most likely or I just like to think, that Cassie would ultimately decide to watch either of these 3 films, because she knows how many times they have requested them. She knows how much these films mean to these Patrons. I feel like if she decided not to watch them, that would be verging on a “Mean Girl” moment. Dangling the ONE Personal/Precious thing that someone has wanted out of ALL the money and time they have spent on this channel, in front of their face and saying, “what could have been… but Nope. Next time. I was just having Fun (with your emotions). Now wait 5 years to Never for your name to Win the Spin again.” Now say someone wins the 2nd Spin for Fun, that hasn’t requested a 100 times, their most favorite film that they want to share with Cassie. Does that make this patron’s film any less important? Does Cassie not watch this film, because she has never heard of it… because she hasn’t seen it requested 100 times… because it was just For Fun, and this Patron doesn’t really care that much about the film, because otherwise they would have been requesting it 100 times. But, I think a good number of us do care about the films we submitted. Many of us expect or hope that the film we submit will have an impact on Cassie. This Pick-a-Flick thing might well be the most personal thing Cassie has done with her Patrons. Sure there has been Trivia Nights and Contests where the winner is able to submit 5 films for Cassie to choose or put to a poll. But that’s 5 films that are now out of the Patron’s hands. A number of times the most wanted film from the Patron, doesn’t get picked. (I know because I was there) The Pick-a-Flick is something different. This is a single Patron being able to say, “No I choose this time. I want you to watch THIS Specific Film, because of (these Personal Reasons).” Now I know not everyone has deep personal feelings about the film they chose. I don’t have deep feelings about the film I chose, but I do really, really, really want Cassie to watch it. I really believe it would be a lot of fun. However, there is a film that does mean a lot to me, and has had a deep effect on me over the years. A film that I would Love for Cassie to see. A film that I am usually scared to show people, in fear that they will criticize it. I have been debating on whether or not to use my ONE and ONLY, “cut straight to the end of the game” pass, on this film. This Pick-a-Flick is after all a One and Done thing. Once you win, that’s it. There’s so many people, that it will take years for Cassie to get back around and start over, which I’m sure she will find something else to do besides this channel anyways before she becomes a Grandma, right? Also, there’s so many people, that the majority will most likely never get to use their ONE and ONLY pass. That makes every time you see your name Win the Spin, a Very Special moment. One that shouldn’t be just “For Fun.” Like some who have expressed their feelings about yesterday’s Pick-a-Flick, 2nd Spin… if I had seen my film that is dear to me come up on the screen, and then be told, “No promises, just for Fun.” “If you win next month, you’ll get two picks.” Double or Nothing… and I get nothing :-( Yeah… that would hurt a bit. — That’s it I’m done. It’s been one of those weeks, and getting “Spun-Out” of the drawing for I believe the 2nd month in a row, didn’t help things. I made it my Mission today to fix some problems and stick up for anyone else that may have felt “Brushed Off.” Sorry for the rant. Hopefully next week will do better. Luv ya Cass.

Mike Lemon
>>163830434

"can characterize the 2nd spin as negative but doesn't make sense to me." Because you can expect to win about once every *40 years* with a static 500 participants. I don't know about you, but I really hope the Reaper comes for me before that. That poor guy got his "win" but no prize, odds are a win will never happen again.

Everyone, don’t invest so much in something that only has a 1:500 chance of hitting. I like a suggestion below that would have her draw additional names for spot poll for us to vote on (b/c I ‘get’ her wanting to just spin more, I really do, - and there were a lot of great suggestions in that list). But if you were to get on a poll and lose, it will not be a reflection on you, it will still be the luck of the draw. Just as the odds are in our favor that we won’t be selected for the Hunger Games, they are also against us winning a random drawing. As for last night’s second spin, let it slide, it was a spur of the moment thing and she just improvised a meaning to it after the fact.

Clay F
>>163867719

Not watching them would be a given -- because the spin did not count. No decision would be needed. You can suggest she do a 2nd spin that counts. I appreciate your emotion, but your selection didn't come up on the 2nd spin. "This Pick-a-Flick thing might well be the most personal thing Cassie has done with her Patrons." I don't see it that way because the chance to win each month is about 1/450. The vast majority, even if a patron for a decade, will not win. I like that it's impersonal for me in that I see many entries not mine that I like -- and think collectively (impersonally) I will be a "winner" in one of my fellow patrons winning. That's why I am positive even with the odds.

You seem really invested in the idea that a movie becoming known to people means they ‘ll be more likely to vote for it. The only thing that really motivates people to vote for movies here is that they’ve seen and like the movie. I mean that’s the reason the polls turn out the way they do.- A movies’ quality means nothing. Having heard of a movie is meaningless. The whole point of this Pick a flick thing is to give people’s favorites a chance they might never have. So I don’t really care if anyone becomes more aware of my pick because that’s not going to help it. As for the second spin not effecting the odds -I don’t care. I don’t want to see it up there in my face like “Your pick would have won! If this was real. Which it isn’t. Loser” .And I don’t consider this an issue, in fact it seems way more normal than your reaction does to me.

I don't like the idea of making a poll of spins. It would incentivise people to pick more popular titles that would have a shot at winning a poll. Which would go against the intensions of using this as a vehicle for providing an equal chance for more niche, lesser known or hidden gem movies.

Richard Maurer

If you see only one film this year that proves my innocence, make it this one.

My recommendation is that Cassie should have spun the wheel 474 times. After each spin that person is eliminated until we have one ultimate winner left. Cassie gets lots of 'just for fun' and you all get your name and film read out. Job done! It is absolutely the only way to do this and anyone who says otherwise is an idiot. OK bye. Love you.

Clarence Newman

OK, the 2nd spin debate is getting heavy in certain places, so I just want to add my Devil's Avocado to Larry's below and further clarify the "whiners'" point of view. To the folks who think it's a storm in a teacup and we should all stop whingeing, I get your point of view with bells on. There are people here who don't really care that much if their movie is picked, whose response to the 2nd spin was an unconcerned shrug, and are therefore wondering what all the fuss is about. It's a valid opinion, and I have respect, and a little envy, for every heroic stoic among us. BUT......the fact is that there are a lot of people on here that it DOES matter to. We're movie lovers after all, and we're here because we enjoy seeing Cassie react to our favourite movies. There are plenty of opportunities for that to happen on this channel, but what Pick-a-flick does is give us the unique chance to put her in front of our ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE movies, ones that often wouldn't have a prayer of winning a poll. Given how high the odds are of winning, it's a really big deal to see your number come up. I'm talking cartwheels, high fives with the neighbour you hate and French kissing the dog, because it's a once in a lifetime moment that will never come again. A little dramatic, perhaps, but essentially true. You may not feel that way yourself and I'm happy for you, but a lot of people do, and to have that one golden moment, that heartbeat of time when the big claw of destiny picks YOU against all the odds, you and your special film, only for it to be a bit of fun that doesn't count.....like it or not, my stoic friends, that is bloody annoying! It really doesn't matter if Cassie said beforehand that the second spin was only for fun, I guarantee you that many people, while you guys were chillin' and going with the flow, literally slapped a hand to their forehead and groaned "Please don't do that." In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Joe Cross's reaction was, "Please don't do that. Please, please, please , plea.....f*ck." This is not one of those angry debates, guys, and I can very easily see both sides of the argument. If you care, you care; if you don't care, you don't care. I just think more people care about this particular thing than don't care, and given that the solution is not only simple, but a sizable win for Cassie (it's a fun comedy/drama and I'm almost certain she'll enjoy it), I think she should watch The Full Monty.

Clay, The 2nd film in general is ok, but because of something at the end (I’m not saying what it is as I don’t what to spoil anything). It just makes the film pointless, yes I get they where trying to make a statement. But it just ruined the entire film for me and I’ve only watched it once. Where’s I’ve watched the others 2 or 3 times.

Me too Chris! Had the same one for 20 years! That’s why I never suspected it! I never put that encrypted email address in my Patreon account, Apple did it automatically when I set up the account, without me knowing! It wasn’t until Kaiielle asked me to check it, I realised it wasn’t my actual email address! Just some encrypted relay address Apple use to put (supposedly to protect their customers! 😒) in. Worst of all I can’t change it!! Because this Apple email relay address has no ‘inbox’ so when you try to change your email address on Patreon, it sends you a verification email, you can’t get to! 😡 and that apple email account doesn’t pass it on to your actual email account! I went on a Apple dedicated forum last night, those poor people on their! One guy just wanted his plane ticket! That had been sent to this encrypted address, nope!! Never setting up an account with anyone using apple again!

Imagine spin 474 being done and your name still not picked. That would suck. Oddly, I can do a "trust me, I know personally" on that one. I was at a company Christmas "party" (break room, extended lunch), everybody in the company won a prize... everybody but one person.

I find getting upset about this baffling. But I also find it baffling that some people like brussels sprouts, and I don't feel the need to ague with them about it. It's clear that a sizable chunk of people feel strongly about this, and I'm happy to just let them feel the way they feel. I'm not sure Cassie should feel obligated to watch The Full Monty (although I'm sure she'd love it), but being considerate of patrons who don't like "just for fun" spins going forward seems reasonable to me.

@ Mike, I'm unconvinced it's that low on the logic that full length reactions get significantly more Hearts than the edits available to lower tier members Also the number of votes cast in polls (with single voting) is usually 500—800; which is the only other significant perk to lower tiers

Milton William Burray

Suggestions to rectify the situation around the controversial 2nd spin: Option #1 — Watch the movie Option #2 — Create a movie poll by spinning the wheel, on which Full Monty will also feature, we can then vote on Option #3 — Ask Joe Cross to nominate a selection of films for a poll Option #4 — Put Full Monty on the next poll whatever it may be There are multiple ways to make this right

Clarence Newman
>>163905331

My feedback on your suggestions, Milt: #1 - Bingo was his name! #2 - OK, as long as we're only allowed to vote for The Full Monty. None of the other films have suffered the same diabolical abuse and can therefore talk to the hand. #3 - OK, as long as all 5 are The Full Monty. We're trying to keep Joe out of therapy here. #4 - OK, but only if it's a Full Monty poll that's full of nothing but Montys. I would accept the odd Monty Python.

As I mentioned in a reply to another comment, I’m not a fan of using the wheel spin to decide poll entries. It would encourage people to choose more popular titles with a better chance of winning. If my pick had only a 1 in 500 chance of winning outright but about a 1 in 60 chance of making it into a poll, where it would still need to be popular enough to compete, it would likely influence my choice. I think this would go against the intentions of using this as a vehicle for providing an equal chance for more niche, lesser known or hidden gem movies.

Gabor/Richard - I see it about each patron's favorite films -- unknown or known. My favorite films are known. I submitted Lost in Translation (2003) for last month and Thelma & Louise (1991) this for this month. When I scan through the list of entries, there are many well known films. It can be your choice to submit a niche/unknown film. Can do both: (1) Spin for the single winner, as intended. So you will be happy (with your niche submission) even though unlikely you will win even if a patron for the next 5 years with a spin every month. (2) Multiple spins for poll candidates. I hope the channel evolves to use the pick-a-flick as a tool that way. I think better than the popcornrequests database, or at least adds a different flavor. It's kernel/butter tiers and importantly it's current members.

"Multiple spins for poll candidates."- The problem was greatly illustrated a couple polls ago when Bjorn's movie made the poll. What was it, about 20 of us, voted for it. People aren't stupid, if they know their movie will likely be on a poll (as opposed to an instant watch), they are going to start picking movies that have a chance of winning a poll. If I wan't a hard-headed jerk and the movies I want her to watch are- Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995) Rebound: The Legend Of Earl "The Goat" Manigault (1996) Soul Surfer (2011) Space Cop (2016) and Great Outdoors (1988) -you can bet your ass I'm picking Great Outdoors even if I want to see the others exponentially more because that is the only one that stands a chance on a poll. note- I don't want her to watch The Great Outdoors.

Clay F
>>163951669

Mike -- you still get the spin for the winner. I hope you win and thus get The McMartin Trial (1995) reacted to. By the way, I think The McMartin Trial (1995) would have a decent chance to win a poll, depending on other candidates. It's a good movie with damn good actors. Plus, the movie is not as obscure, for example, as Richard's submission might be. Plus, many of us watched that event unfold in the news -- headlines across the country. Milton -- I like what you say, but I was thinking to use the wheel more sparingly for poll candidates and only be committed to watching the poll winner, and maybe reacting to a close 2nd as is done sometimes at Cassie's discretion.

Clarence Newman
>>163905331

Clay! I will defend your right to be wrong with my dying breath! I could also be wrong, of course, but it's highly unlikely. I haven't been wrong since I bet a thousand bucks on the Patriots to win the Super Bowl in 2008. (Though I came close with Officer and a Gentleman.) Larry Darrell
>>163905331

@Milton - Many of us already know, for sure, that the 2nd bite of the cherry is going to fall out of our mouths before we can even taste it. Many of us are picking films that are not designed for a poll. No one is going to vote for them. The Pick-a-Flick was created so that these kinds of films actually have a chance of getting seen. We would rather not drag our films through the indignity of being at the bottom of a poll. Polls should be filled with films that many people have been requesting. This makes the films that finish dead last, not really last at all. There is still a great number of people that want to see that film and people will keep requesting it. Taking a film that only One person wants Cassie to watch, then putting it in a poll, would garner One vote, plus 5 - 10 pity votes. We don’t want Pity for our films. And to another point that has been going around. If anyone thinks getting a film on a Poll, even though it has no chance is giving it attention and putting it on Cassie’s radar… well that still only works for films that many people have been requesting. Does anyone remember a film called, The More the Merrier (1943)? Having that film on a Poll missed Cassie’s radar by a mile. If We want to try to get Cassie’s and other Patron’s attention about a film, then we will request the film in the comment section or find our own unique way of selling the film, so that it appears appealing… before throwing it into a poll, where it will only be remembered as… “oh yeah, that movie no one voted for. It must not be good then.”

Richard Maurer

The last Spin would not be the winner. She would then have to go to the other wheel that contains all the names that were left out of the Original Spin Wheel, for reasons that were out of our control, and spin that wheel until the last Spin. There was already a winner from the Original Spin Wheel anyway… There’s just No Way Out of this until The Full Monty gets watched. ;-)

Richard Maurer
>>163830434

It’s a loss of money. Just in case you forgot this a money making enterprise for Cassie. Alienating patrons is a loss of money.

Gábor Árki
>>163951669

But Clay, if you select a movie to be your pick that is let's say DEATH AT A FUNERAL, which is the 3052nd on Popcornrequests, you would pretty much throw away any chance of that winning on a poll. And your movie pick making it to a poll has a decent chance of happening in 1-2 years, compared to winning the spin for which you most likely would have to wait for a couple of decades. If spinning is used to fill up polls, it would strongly encourage people to pick movies with a real shot at winning those. Likely those already in the top 100-200 requests. Otherwise, you'd be giving up a decent chance of making it into a poll only to end up dead last. This would undermine one of the best aspects of the wheel spin: giving every pick an equal chance, no matter how niche or obscure the movie is. Because people would have a strong motivation to pick more popular titles. There is still an easy and convenient way of picking movies for polls: using Popcornrequests. And instead of just selecting random movies from top 50 or 50-100, there could be a lot more interesting polls made. But I keep suggesting these in vain for almost 2 years. You could select a decade, or a year, or a genre, and pick from those movies randomly for a poll. Or a combination of these.

Brett Richey

Clay F
>>163905331

Milton -- your reply is a good point. While I still can't shake that the 2nd spin didn't count -- putting The Full Monty on a poll is a good compromise -- if decided that something should be done. Clarence, I wonder if your analysis would be different if say the movie that came up on the 2nd spin was, for example, Star Trek: Section 31 (2025)?

Clay F
>>163951669

Gabor -- for pick-a-flick, higher tier patrons get one pick and thus submit a favorite. In contrast, at popcornrequests all patrons (including lower tier) upvote movies they like but are not a favorite. Further, many upvotes are by those who are no longer patrons. Moreover, any new requests are lost in the muddled mass at the bottom. The top 100-200 are weighted toward initial requests made in the early years of the channel. The entries for pick-a-flick look different to me than the top 100-200 at popcornrequests.com. Currently, for pick-a-flick, there is ONLY the spin for a winner ("winning the spin for which you most likely would have to wait for a couple of decades"). Is that what you want? That is what was apparently intended. I would not change my entry if pick-a-flick spins were sparingly used for poll candidates, but you make a good point that others might. I edited my post above to add the word "sparingly."

Milton William Burray
>>163951669

@Clay, Same deal on Jen Murray's website. New requests get lost in the thousands of movies in front of them that already have a handful of votes, making it very difficult for anything to reach the top few pages. But she is at least beginning to chip away at the 1st page...though just recently is doing more and more TV...

Joe
>>163951669

@Milton, I follow Jen also, she does run her channel in a different way for sure. She doesn't post a YT schedule anymore, when she watches something it could post to YT next week or two months later. This makes her YT movies seem very random from week to week. She has always gotten low views, which I never could understand, she's an entertaining reactor.

Richard Maurer
>>163951669

Clay - saying Mike’s pick has “ a decent chance to win “ a poll is baseless speculation. Truth is the other films on the poll would need to be on a similar level of popularity. If Mike’s film had been on the poll Bjorn’s was (instead of Bjorn’s) it certainly wouldn’t have won and I seriously doubt it would have done that much better than Bjorn’s.

Cole Jennett
>>163905331

Or…or…option 5 where we live in reality, and realize she said she was spinning for fun, and not for real, and do nothing as a result. The Full Monty got some free exposure, and is now on her radar. It’s a small victory. Perhaps we could just accept that.

Richard Maurer
>>163951669

I don’t understand why we need to make it so complicated anyway. Watching Full Monty is the simplest and best solution . Otherwise this whole second spin thing will always be a bone contention here. Watching it will make everyone forget the whole thing in a month - unless she does another second spin - then it will never go away.

Clay F
>>163951669

Richard - you may be right. But Mike still has the spin for the winner. His movie can win that. Same chance as all of us. My entry last month and my entry this month have been in polls on this channel and other channels, and never won. I am looking at a poll that came out today on another channel in which my current entry Thelma & Louise is middle of the pack having only a 1/3 of the votes of the leader Contact (1997). Thelma & Louise lost to Adventures in Babysitting in a poll on this channel — I was shocked at the time but now better understand. Patrons love the spin for the win because they dream of Cassie reacting to their movie. Feels so very personal to them. To me, the spin for the win is almost meaningless. It’s why I don’t buy lottery tickets. But people buy lottery tickets because they like to dream of the big win. For me to make meaning of the spin for the win is I see many entries by others that I like — and thus I could get a “win” this year or this month, and not having to wait a decade, or never happening. No Way Out is a “win” for me this month.

Mike Lemon

Watching The Full Monty is asking way too much. That would be ridiculous. Would not resolve anything but instead create contention. The spin didn’t count.

Larry Darrell
>>163951669

Watching The Full Monty is asking too much? Watching The Full Monty would create contention? The NOT watching of The Full Monty is what started all this. Watching the film would be settling the disagreement. Especially because, I thought y’all didn’t care. The 2nd Spin meant nothing to y’all, but meant something to us. Watching the film would be the remedy for us. So you’re saying now, that if she does watch The Full Monty, this disagreement that is splitting the community is going to continue no matter what, because y’all feel so strongly that she shouldn’t watch it? I thought we cared and y’all didn’t. That is the basis of this all. Do y’all care or not?

Cole Jennett
>>163951669

I do agree with the others that by spinning to make a poll would more than likely change people’s approach to their picks, which would then defeat the purpose of the pickaflick to start with. I will also concede that I’d like her to see The Full Monty at some point, and I believe it will more likely find its way on to a future poll now. I still won’t concede that she did anything wrong by having a little extra fun with the wheel. Especially because she said it was for fun, and not for real. I’m going to leave the topic there. We are going to create too many ulcers if we keep this up, ha ha.

Clay F
>>163951669

I care. The 2nd spin meant nothing because it didn’t count. Was not a “real” spin. That’s the point. Those here wanting to turn the spin that didn’t count into a spin that counts — your entry did not come up on that meaningless spin. You have no more stake in this than any other patron.

Dave

Here we are, 2 days removed from the pick, and the battle still rages over Cassie's "Just for fun" pick. It has been a very interesting read, to say the least. So many suggestions on how Joe Cross should be compensated for this act of cruelty. In all the comments there is one thing missing from either side of the discussion, so I thought I would bring it up here. Joe Cross hasn't said a word about it. I think it best if all parties involved in the discussion these past two days take a step back and recognize that, as far as any compensation should be given to him, it is Joe Cross's opinion that really matters, and only his. There are many who have felt the need to speak on his behalf, to project their own feelings on Joe and assume they know how he feels. Sure, for some of you it would be a painful loss should Cassie pick your movie just for fun, but we don't know how Joe feels about it- none of us do, because Joe hasn't spoken up. It may be that he feels very badly about it, and it would be understandable if he did for many of the reasons that have been expressed. Conversely, he might think it's not a big deal. Until he says something, we won't know, and if he does say something, I am sure Cassie will be more than happy to offer him something as she did during the event. But for us to sit here and declare what the remedy should be and to decide for Cassie what she should do, when we don't know if Joe is upset about it, is unfortunate. For some to insinuate that because you've spent alot of money on your patronage here your opinion should be the determining factor in any decision Cassie or Ben make is unfortunate, bordering on elitist and entitled. Bottom line is this- It wasn't your entry, it wasn't mine. We weren't harmed. It was Joe's, and if Joe wants to raise the issue with Cassie, he can certainly do so. The rest of us should step back and let them handle it between themselves, if Joe should decide that he wants it handled.

Clay F
>>163951669

Cole — in the future after the system is lined out, could duplicate the system identically (single-entry per patron) for a 2nd wheel for spins for poll candidates. That would not affect the current wheel. Though may be too much work if the system never lines out. Also, I am not suggesting to replace popcornrequests but only complement it. Would be current high tier patrons and their favorite.

Richard Maurer
>>163951669

@ Mike -I would vote for your movie same as I did Bjorn’s. And like I did with Bjorn’s I’d move off of it once it became obvious it had no chance to win.

Richard Maurer
>>163951669

@ Clay - it was a real spin, just for no good reason other than Cassie’s curiosity. And at this point the only reason anyone seems to be against The Full Monty being watched is that they don’t want the other side of this argument to “win”. Which, to use your words is rather “childish”.

Richard Maurer
>>163986026

I too noticed Joe Cross never showed up here. But then I don’t ever recall seeing his name in the comments. He probably isn’t here often, maybe not at all. But even if he came here and said he was fine with the whole thing it wouldn’t change my opinion on this. Because who this was done to wasn’t the point - it shouldn’t have happened to anyone. Just like what movie he picked doesn’t matter to me. If he had picked Ernest Saves Christmas I wound have held my nose and said it should be watched.

Dave
>>163986026

I expected this very comment from you, Richard. It doesn't surprised me at all, given that you make it a point to tell everyone that you don't care what anyone else thinks or what their opinion is. So you don't give anyone else the grace or consideration, yet you demand that your opinion be the only one that is right? Try looking beyond yourself for a change. The point IS that, as upset as you are over Cassie trying to have some fun, you and your pick were not affected. Stop "white-knighting" something that is not, at this point, a problem

Clay F
>>163951669

Richard - Cassie said the spin didn’t count. I heard her. I admit I couldn’t get into The Full Monty but that was a long time ago. I would welcome a reaction to The Full Monty (nominated for Best Picture Oscar). Would not be bothered if The Full Monty came up on a spin that counted.

Popcorn In Bed

yes, it was dumb of me. i’m like a child with that kind of stuff, like when i would do just for fun draws out of the pillowcase because my curiosity gets the better of me. it was too clicky. I realize now that it could have been hurtful for the second person to have been spun. I will not do that again. I love movies, i love you guys and am reading every comment to make pick a flick the best it can be.

Richard Maurer

I, along with many others, have said a lot about the second spin. But there is one thing I still need to make clear - that is I don’t think Cassie did this with any cruel intentions. I think she did it for fun, as a spur the moment thing. And as a spur of the moment thing, she didn’t take into consideration how a person whose film she picked might feel about it. She shouldn’t feel bad about it, it was an honest mistake. I, and I assume others, just want her to see how it would feel from our side of the spin.

We all heard her Clay, but that’s not the point, as much as you want it to be. The point is many people here don’t want to see their pick in fake spin., it would be a slap in the face. I know you don’t feel that way, but I do, and so do many others.

Chris Tom - You've been told at least 3 times that you didn't put your Patreon email address on the form

Popcorn In Bed
>>163992524

definitely not the reason and nothing personal! I don’t know why if the email was the same on both why it would have been left off, still working out the kinks and where the miscommunication is between the two programs etc. Ben is trying to build a site thingy that will hopefully fix it

Richard Maurer
>>163986026

lol. When did I demand anything? I give my opinion, take it or leave it, I don’t care about that either. The problem here is that other people such as yourself seem to think that when you give your opinion everyone else should just accept it. Sorry but if I disagree with someone they better come with facts if they expect me to change or back down. But seeing as both sides of this argument are about feelings and opinions there is really no point to this, other the fun of arguing about it.

Chris Thom

Ok thank you. Good to hear. I know these sites can be glitchy. Especially with all the google and windows updates.

Richard Maurer

I really do hope this wasn’t too upsetting to you Cassie. It was really more about a battle of conflicting opinions than anything else.

Larry Darrell
>>163992767

I do agree, that Cassie looked like she was having fun spinning the wheel. “Round and round she goes, where she stops, nobody knows!” Each spin gives a new movie that someone specifically picked for her. I get it… it’s very exciting. She seemed very interested in what movie might pop up. That was very cool to see. So I say, Yes! After the livestream ends, play with the Spin Wheel. Spin it 5 or 10 or 20 more times… and then look up the films, in a spoiler free way. Look up what kind of film they are or look at the Top Cast. Look up the form that the Patron submitted and read the “Why I chose this film” portion. Maybe she will see why some of these films are special to us. Maybe, just maybe, After 20 extra spins off camera, every month, someone and their movie or the same movie comes up 2 or 3 times say over the course of the year, and Cassie thinks, “maybe something wants me to watch this movie… hmmm” Just please don’t put it in a poll if it is a film that isn’t highly requested, Please ;-)

Dave
>>163986026

Here's a couple examples: "All I know is if that had been my movie that had came up on the 2nd spin I would have to seriously consider leaving her Patreon - that’s how angry I would have been." "Don’t care about TFM, but Cassie should watch it now. It’s wrong not to." Sounds pretty demanding to me, but then you're not going to see that because it's just my opinion, right? Let's add on the countless complaints about horror polls not being done, or when they are done the movie choices are not to your liking. Maybe not demanding, but certainly passive-aggressive. Yes, yes, you're just stating your opinion. I know. And yes, horror polls and movie choices are not what the 2nd pick discussion has been about, but I'm illustrating your behavior, and the discussion has just been a continuation of that behavior. You say you hope this hasn't been too upsetting for Cassie, while you and the others who are on the "upset about the 2nd pick" side of the discussion have spent a good deal of time scolding her about what she did (you'll most likely say say no one was scolding her), what she needs to do to make things right (regardless whether Joe feels wronged or not because you don't know if he is or not and you don't care), even bringing up "Mean Girls" in comparison, You can say that was a joke, but it's hard to tell when what is said is written and not spoken. You can say that you were not the one who wrote that, yet I didn't see you or anyone else on your side of the discussion rescind that remark or apologize for it. Maybe Cassie saw that comment. Maybe Cassie sees alot of the complaining from yourself and others about the things she tries her best to give to people while at the same time, as you said, trying to run a business, and maybe, just maybe, it is getting a bit tiresome to her, or at the least I know for a fact that it discourages her greatly. Ever think about that? Of course not, because in your mind, you don't care about what others think or what their opinions are. You are going to just give your opinion, no matter what other people think or how it might make them feel. As you said, "there is really no point to this, other the fun of arguing about it." Well it isn't fun for alot of people, but again, you really don't care. I wish you did.

>>163992524

I guess theyre going to be using a different method in the future, which will also allow people to see others' picks easier.

Clarence Newman

I agree that we've talked this to death, guys. After 2 days, there's surely nothing more to say about it, and as Cassie has already read and responded to the argument, we know she's aware. Debates on here are always interesting, and sometimes, when, for whatever reason, it matters to us, they can get adversarial. As Clay says, we're adults, we have opinions, and we stand by those opinions if they mean something to us. I don't think this one has been too bad. Lots of back and forth but it's never got too heavy. The important thing now is that Cassie knows there's no blame aimed at her. It's no different than dismissing the first spin last month because she'd already watched the film that came up. She told us beforehand that films she'd already seen wouldn't count, but in hindsight (and we're all experts at that), dismissing altogether the patron whose name was picked seemed a little cruel. We debated, Cassie considered it, and decided to offer him a second choice. Problem solved. My thoughts on what she should do here are in essay form down below, so I won't belabour it further. I just want to reiterate Richard's comment that no one's blaming Cassie or suggesting she did anything wrong. Now she's heard our thoughts, whatever she decides to do is fine by me.

Larry Darrell
>>163986026

First off… Thank You Dave, again for helping with my info and passing it along to Ben in order to find out why I was left out of the Drawing. I really appreciate it. I’m sure there will be a solution. I know nothing was done intentional. This is all still new and Kinks will be Kinks. And that is why we have been commenting about it. To help with the kinks. Many of us had expectations of what the Pick-a-Flick was. We thought it was a much more personal touch to the PIB format. We can select One specific film that means something to us, and there is a good chance that Cassie will watch it. Yay. This is what (I assumed) every person who payed for the extra tier would really hope for. But I guess many of us cared a lot more about the films We selected, than another large group and their films. We just wanted to make sure our voices were being heard and not ignored. Because that’s what the other side was saying, “just forget about it, it was nothing.” It wasn’t nothing to us. Now If you’ll allow me to switch gears to Rebuttal mode… I’ve never understood Moderators having personalities or strong opinions, unless they are the strict opinions of the Head or Face of the Channel that I or we have subscribed to. Unless Cassie herself is going to call us, “Elitist or Entitled,” I don’t very much like hearing that kind of personal opinion from someone that, I thought was supposed to just be here to help and direct people to the place where a problem can be solved, or step in when someone is being offensive and give out warnings based on the evidence that the offender has provided. Until Cassie or the Head of PIB deems then worthy of being blocked. If I have said anything offensive to Cassie, then please let me know, specifically. If any of your post was not directed at me personally, then I apologize… but I have expressed my opinion in long form and I did mention money in one of my comments, so it felt like it. In NO way did I insinuate that because I or anyone else has spent a lot of money on PIB, that our opinion should be the ONLY determining factor in Cassie’s decision. The mentioning of money was my opinion on MY money and where it was spent. My comments about the spending of my money or anyone else’s spending of their money, was MY Feelings on the matter. Me putting those feelings in the comments was for Cassie and anyone else reading, to take them and do with them as they will. Cassie’s ultimate decision and statement, that Cassie makes herself, would tell me IF my opinions and Feelings were considered. Afterwards, I would decide if this is a place that I would want to continue being a part of. (which is something that I have been considering over the past couple days, giving the treatment that some of us have had, just for expressing our opinion on how OUR one and only single film submission should be treated) Also… No one brought up Joe Cross, because he wasn’t an issue. Whether or not he cared enough about his pick was not an issue. We were informing that WE cared and OUR feelings were the discussion, if we were in the same situation, which we could be if the Same Practices continue. Obviously contact the person who got the second spin and ask if he wanted the film to be watched or if he wanted to wait, or possibly change his pick. He was not part of the official spin, but some Respect should be given to him, since that may have been the ONLY time his name could have come up, EVER for the duration that Cassie will have this channel. I thought things like this would be obvious, but realized that they were not, so I was expressing my feelings, along with everyone else, that obviously felt the same way, in order to convey to the powers that be, WE do have feelings down here, and Please be mindful. I personally felt the need to express a little harder to make sure, Our side was being heard, because there seemed to be another large group that was telling us we were wrong to feel that way, belittling us, and telling us How to Feel, when… you know, it’s sometimes hard to help. We Feel what We Feel. Sorry if that bothers you, but I wouldn’t have thought that expressing my feelings would have offended anyone. If they did, that should be something specific to discuss and work out, personally. If we are not allowed to express our feelings on hear, even when they are not harming someone else or hurting someone else’s feelings. If we are not supposed to give constructive criticism or give our opinions on the services, even though we do pay for the service. (mentioned money again. They are my feelings on my money, sorry) If any of this is still creating a problem, Please let me know, and I will pack up and go, with no regrets. Thank You for the time.

"take a step back and recognize that, as far as any compensation should be given to him, it is Joe Cross's opinion that really matters, and only his." Analogy- When a crime is committed, let's use a drunk driver veering off the road and smashing "Bob's" jungle gym, is it only Bob that gets to talk about and decide the "punishment" or does the community get a word too? "because Joe hasn't spoken up." Has he ever posted? I too don't remember seeing his name. Everybody that has been around forums knows the majority of people reading never write. "For some to insinuate that because you've spent alot of money on your patronage here your opinion should be the determining factor in any decision Cassie or Ben make is unfortunate, bordering on elitist and entitled." Is this a reference to my comment to Richard about being pissed if that was my name in the just for fun? If it is you should go read that comment again- and I will offer the same advice I often do, read what is actually written, not what you think is written- then come back and apologize. Finally, I will say this- you're a mod? And that is how you're acting (especially the replies)? Interesting.

Mike Lemon
>>163992524

"I don’t know why if the email was the same on both why it would have been left off, still working out the kinks and where the miscommunication is between the two programs etc." "There are others, you know. There were eight of us. It would really mean a lot to them" ... to keep them in the loop about the problem that kept them off the list. And I'll say again (directed at not-Cassie/PIB) "check your email address on a form you submitted a month ago and don't have a copy of" isn't helping at all, (back to including PIB) we need specifics. "Cassie" has our email from the "were you left off the spin" form, we can be contacted. note- I don't know how many there were, I just like the quote.

Milton William Burray

But can you imagine the collective healing that will happen when Full Monty is finally watched? I actually feel that now it's been built up too much in the PiB lore so that it will be impossible to enjoy that lighthearted little film with all the tragedy that later surrounds it

Chris Thom
>>163992767

Second spin didn't really register with me because I would've done the same damn thing. Except five more times. Not to hurt anyone's feeling or anything, just as a fun way to contemplate what could've been. Actually think that was a participatory move to involve everyone more than anything else. But I get the criticism. Because I also have my own thing to whine about.

Clarence Newman
>>163986026

Wow, Dave. I mean....wow. When I read your initial post, I thought you were just one of us patrons expressing the other side of the argument. A little over-zealous in parts, perhaps, but debating is what we do here, so no biggie. Now I've read the rest of the thread and find you're one of Cassie's moderators, my jaw is on the floor. Correct me if I'm wrong, but part of a moderator's job (and it is a job, with responsibilities, because you're representing the face of the channel) is to arbitrate and defuse this kind of disagreement, not to pile in on one side and literally insult patrons who have the opposite point of view. I refer you in particular to your first response to Richard Maurer above, where you have literally insulted him from start to finish. You're a moderator, mate. What on earth are you doing? Like it or not, you represent one of the sweetest human beings on the planet, somebody who nobody, but nobody, but NOBODY has "scolded" or villified for the issues that came out of the 2nd spin. We've pointed out that it causes a problem, but when has anybody complained at Cassie directly? We've complained about the issue, not the sweet, adorable lady who innocently caused it. I believe that is evident in all the posts discussing it, INCLUDING the ones where I playfully scold her with my tongue firmly in my cheek. Find me a serious example and we can talk. I'm concerned right now, because after two days of lively but mostly respectful debate, which on its own was winding down to a natural conclusion, this is now in danger of blowing up again, because a moderator has come on and insulted several patrons. Not cool, mate. This is not how one of Cassie's moderators should behave. I mean, Hell, when was the last time we saw a long-standing patron (Larry) threaten to pack up and leave because of the attitude of a mod? I think there's more danger of that discouraging Cassie than a bit of lively, respectful feedback.

Milton William Burray
>>163992767

@ Larry, Watching a movie on PiB is like watching a movie with a group of friends, you consider what other people in the group want to watch as well as yourself. I may not like your favourite movie, and you may not like mine, but maybe there's a 3rd movie we both like that would be a better compromise

Clarence Newman

Cassie. Given some of the stuff that's going on down below, I think it's important to reiterate what I sincerely hope is obvious to you: We love you, we don't blame you for tiny, innocent errors, we're not scolding you, we debate because we care and we're not always going to agree. Please don't take it personally or get "discouraged". If you did, sweet lady, you would be seriously missing the point. x

Nahhh!! The movie would be Fun and All would be forgotten soon after. We’ll be thinking, “how did such controversy start over the idea of watching a Fun and Entertaining film that was Oscar nominated 4 times, including Best Picture and WON for Best Music… on a Film Reaction Channel?” I think the NOT watching of the film would be prolonging the sore spot. Just go to the doctor already, strip down to the Full Monty and let him lop off that growth.

Milton William Burray
>>164012083

Just let it lie Larry. The 2nd spin is like the 2nd World War, in about 50 years we might be able to laugh about it, like we do the holocaust, until then just bow our heads and remember the fallen, Joe Cross

Dave was a subscriber and patron just like everyone else for 2 years before becoming a moderator. He’s allowed an opinion too. The truth is tough to swallow sometimes. I heard he's started his own Podcast called Nobody Crosses Joe. First episode is about the night he cried himself to sleep, copy of The Full Monty DVD still in hand, now stained by the tears of bittersweet agony. >>163986026

Dave - Larry, Mike, and Clarence already said much of what I thought about your reply (I went to bed before any of this happened) but since your anger was mostly directed at me I will address a few “points” you made. You start out quoting me and then try to preempt any response by saying you know how I’ll respond. Nice try but a little off. The reason you had to say “sounds pretty demanding to me” is that you read through my comments and that was the best you could come up with lol. You know those are not demands and I already knew they weren’t because I made no demands. As for Halloween and other complaints I have - yes I complain, a lot, because if I don’t the people here (and apparently at least one Mod) will be either trying to keep the status quo or be pushing in the opposite direction. So yeah I complain and will continue to do so because of course I’m trying to make this channel more to my liking. I am more blunt about it than most, but if you’re honest you’ll admit that everyone here is trying to get what they want even the people who are happy with the status quo. If Cassie is taking this personally, as you claim to know, she shouldn’t. It’s about the channel, and she’s not the channel. I am not trying to hurt her, and I am not concerned if you believe that or not.

Milton William Burray

Let's not forget what a happy result this month's pick-n-flick is, and what the Wheel is all about — No Way Out is a top-draw thriller and Cassie will love it Somewhere along the way, amongst all the finger pointing and recrimination, I lost sight of that 🍿🍿

Richard: Cassie IS the channel. It, this place, everything does not exist without her. You cannot separate the two. I have never seen discourse like this towards any other reactor and their channel before and it makes me sad. Dave was attempting to try to calm these comments down as that is part of a moderators job in a community - to step in, sometimes a bit forcefully, and tell people to knock it off. Moderators have existed in online communities forever and for a reason. Dave was asked to be one directly by Cassie. We do the least work here in the Patreon comments and for the most part we just let you be. And we did for 2 days. But it was going on a bit too much we felt it was necessary for one of us to say something and for Cassie herself to come on and say something.

Mike Lemon
>>163986026

@mods- A few of you have weighed in here and other places- are you intentionally missing the point, misreading what people are saying, and misconstruing why people are saying things? Because it seems like every one of you are trying to take everything in the worst possible way and stoke the "anger".

Clarence Newman
>>163998568

If that needs clarification, then I'm happy to do it, Cole. The complaints were about the result of an innocent act. No blame of Cassie was involved. Suggestions that she doesn't do that again are designed to ensure that we/she don't have the same retrospective issue again.

To be clear, I have no problem whatsoever with Dave's opinion or anybody else's. My issue is ENTIRELY with his attitude and general tone in this thread, which is not what I expect from a moderator. And now we have another moderator on here defending that attitude. I'm sorry, Kaielle, but in what world are Dave's comments and personal attacks in this thread "trying to calm things down"? The result being that an issue that was naturally running its course (and was pretty much brought to an end once Cassie herself posted about it - the posts afterwards are mostly support and clarification for Cassie because people are suggesting we were attacking HER) is now heating up again. You're right, this is sad. Outside of this thread, I thought it was wrapping up just fine.

Richard Maurer
>>163986026

Kailelle - maybe you’re not understanding what I meant, perhaps I did a poor job of explaining. By the channel I meant the actual channel - as far as content and what is or is not presented. Cassie is a PART of the channel, obviously a major part, but she doesn’t encompass the entirety of the channel. The content is mostly determined by the patrons as we often have the final say at to what appears on the channel. Now sometimes I do have a problem with what is chosen for polls, and I understand Cassie is a part of that but that is certainly not her main function on the channel. Her reactions are her main function and I have never had a problem with that part.

Richard Maurer

Well hopefully that’s done, because now I’d like to discuss what films will be on the polls next Halloween……….JK

Dave
>>163986026

I agree with those of you how say this should be over and done with - we've got new releases out there, and our beloved reactor has said her peace, and her voice takes precedence. I am hoping what she expressed has helped. Except... I need to apologize for neglecting something I wanted to make clear in my initial post. I failed to acknowledge the fact that there was plenty of disrespect shown by some of the comments from the "It's no big deal" crowd. That is just as unfortunate as the other things I mentioned and that should have been addressed as it happened. If it had been addressed right away, the comments section here would most likely be alot shorter. To the folks who were upset and expressing the feeling that your voices were not being heard, I want you to know that they were and are. We do what we can, when we can, and the comments are reviewed as often as is possible. There was no reason for some to be dismissive of your point of view. I am sorry I did not acknowledge that in the initial post. You might see the mod team as being for this, against that, pro-this guy and anti-that guy. I'll just tell you confidently the only pro or anti position we are ever going to take is pro-Cassie and pro-PIB. Speaking for myself, the anger expressed is not solely mine. It represents the concerns and departing comments of the many many many people who sign up expecting to be part of a great community, only to be driven away by constant negativity and the bullying they either perceive or receive once they enter. I hope we can consider that going forward, and I will certainly be considerate enough to fully express my thoughts going forward, hopefully avoiding messes like this. Thank you ALL for being part of this community. I am not going to respond to any other replies here - Let's move forward to better things.

Mike Lemon

Richard Maurer
>>163986026

Dave. - thank you for that, it did seem that you were taking sides before. When you mentioned people who leave here because of bullying, just remember some people who come here are overly sensitive, they give their opinion and expect no one to give an alternate view point. I have personally experienced several times being told by a commenter that “ I wasn’t looking for your opinion” as if you can make a comment and expect no one else to dare have a different viewpoint. While I do make my opinion known, I do so without violating the rules here - I don’t make personal insults, I don’t bring up politics, and I would certainly never say anything racist.

>>164814510

Agreed, 2 is the number. It’s that way for movie reactions, talk radio, announce teams, etc. When it’s one person doing a reaction or even a broadcast, often they feel the need to fill “dead air” by rambling, when their comments needed a minute to breathe. That’s the benefit of a 2nd person, your ideas bounce off each other, yours are digested while the other is speaking…otherwise it just seems like too much of one voice.
