"It's twuu, it's twuu!" Thank you so much!! Take care and have a wonderful weekend! 🎥🧝‍♀️🍿👏🫶

Tim Weaver

I realize Richard Pryor was original choice but cleavon little dry delivery was perfect!

William Brownlee

A classic. I've written before about why Richard Pryor was adamant about the need to use that word. It was to show how the racist people were morons and deserved to be the butt of the jokes. Mel always talked about the best way to fight evil was to make it a laughing stock instead of rage or fear. The Producers is another great example of this. Watch the original or the 2005 musical version. Both are great.

Michael Siegel

Just watched the latest Andor so needed something funny to lift my spirits. Thanks!

Lamar Smith

The funny thing about the choice of character names is how everyone mistakes ‘Hedley Lamarr’ for ‘Heddy Lamarr.’ Heddy Lamarr was an actual person. She was an actress in the 30’s and ‘40s of German descent. During WWII she whole-heartedly supported the Allied cause. She found Hitler and his policies utterly reprehensible. Now, you may find this next part hard to believe but it is 100% true. Heddy Lamarr, bombshell German entertainer, actually sketched out on a cocktail napkin in a Hollywood bar a way for Allied radio signals to defeat jamming. Heddy Lamarr produced both the concept and the first schematic drawings of a radio capable of what we call today ‘frequency hopping.’ The radio doesn’t just broadcast on a single frequency but can automatically change to an unjammed wavelength. Absolutely true story…… don’t believe me….. go check!

Lamar Smith

Heddy Lamarr even did a number of USO shows for the American boys at the front. She was German, spoke with a VERY thick German accent but she was absolutely no Nazi!

Finally! Been waiting for this one! Laugh it up, fuzzball!

Patrick

Just wanted to show some appreciation for the amount of content and the consistency of ur channel. With family and household obligations, ur work effort is admirable 👏🏼👏🏼👍

Clay F

True, but I thought episode 9 was excellent.

Clay F

I repeat: “Where are the white women at?”

Paul Stelter

"They said you was hung!" "And they was right!" A throwaway gag, but just an amazing pun. (and English being a bizarre language, the correct word should be "hanged" and the time it's ever used is in reference to the capital punishment)

Bill W

The theme song is performed by country-western singer Frankie Laine who is best known for singing the theme song to the tv show Rawhide (1959-1965), which put a young Clint Eastwood on the map.

Jim Sarbinoff

I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time. I hope it cracks you up!

Michael Siegel

The whole thing has been great. Maybe we'll get a Cassie reaction down the road.

Alan Jones

Madeline Kahn's character is a parody of 30s-40s sexpot Marlene Dietrich, who spoke with a thick German accent featuring a notable lisp. The song seems to be a riff on a number Dietrich sang in the Alfred Hitchcock film Stage Fright, titled "The Laziest Girl in Town." Here's a link (if I'm allowed to link here): https://youtu.be/Sr0xRNo6Xaw?si=t5CQRXnyB1ulzrw7

Alan Jones

I guess instead of lisp, I should have said her speech tended to be non-rhotic, where R sounds become W's.

Mark Daniels

Love it! Assignments…History Of The World Part I, the last best Mel Brooks movie you need to see; Three Amigos!, on par, dare I say better, western spoof; Silver Streak, Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor (the intended star of this one) at their peaks.

Bill W

As predicted, Cassie cringing for about 70% of the movie, yet people insist she watch it. Cassie- watch 'City Slickers 1 & 2' (Billy Crystal, Daniel Stern). You will enjoy those comedy-westerns MUCH more.

Bill W

A few lines with similar clever wordplay- "..instead of people leaving, they're staying in droves!" " ...to stamp out runaway decency in the West.." 😀

Clarence Newman

Just finished watching this, and as usual, I have thoughts. First of all, I'm shocked that Cassie didn't bust a gut laughing at the campfire scene like us menfolk do. What is she, female? Second, this strikes me as the perfect way to deal with racism - for good people on both sides to come together and laugh at the bad people on both sides. Not just on one side, on BOTH sides, because like it or not, there are good and bad in every group you can possibly name. That's hard to do these days because some people think there are only good people on their side and only bad people on the other side and refuse to see it any other way. No group is good, no group is bad, we all have good and bad and need to address our own bad while acknowledging the other side's good and bad together. Good will always defeat bad as long as good recognises that being good or bad is about how you treat other people and not about what you look like. Simple enough? Good. Now.....where the white women at?

Alex Gorell

You saw Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein as well.

Clarence Newman

Hell yes to City Slickers. Not sure about the second one, Bill, but the first definitely. It's a slam dunk for Cassie AND Carly.

Clarence Newman

And now needs to see him in Stir Crazy (1979)

Bill W

I don't normally go for sequels, but this one still holds up for me. Jon Lovitz makes me laugh.

Clarence Newman

And also the legend that is Scatman Crothers. "Holy moly, it's the KILLAH!"

Clarence Newman

I need to watch it again. Memory's hazy.

Joe J

@Bill, did you hear her introduction? Cassie chose to watch this film and the other 3 finalists in the March Madness. Nobody insisted she watch anything.

Judy M. Goodman

Lily von Shtup is doing a perfect parody of Marlene Dietrich. Maybe you should see The Blue Angel [Original title: Der blaue Engel] 1930. You'll enjoy it a little more than this, even though it's a musical drama.

Mike Lemon

She would probably like Hear No Evil, See No Evil (1989) more than either of those.

Clarence Newman

1974 was a good year for films about stuff that's ablaze, Cassie. You now need to watch Towering Inferno.

Clay F

If you are saying that people on the side of racism are bad, I agree. As a kid, I remember thinking that campfire scene hilarious.

Clay F

Yeah, BS was one of the Final 4 from March Madness, though had been requested by many at popcornrequests. Personally, I am glad that City Slickers didn’t win, though don’t remember it that well. City Slickers 2 should have to win a poll to be reacted to.

Clarence Newman

Or Zardoz. Crap film, but Cassie's GOT to see Sean Connery in that outfit.

Just Plain Bob

Then show her a picture, for God’s sake, don’t ask her to watch “Zardoz.” It’s the “Cannonball Run” of sci-fi movies.

Wesley White

Hahaha!!!🤣🤣🤣 Despite your opinion of this movie, I still enjoyed your reaction to it! I laugh my head off every time I watch this movie and it never gets old! I'm glad that on some levels you did find it entertaining and funny in some places lol! I'm glad you at least got to watch it once! Have a good weekend Cass, hope the book club is going well, hope you'll consider my recommendation for lunch at the Crab Cooker it's awesome! Love and support and God bless y'all and the family🥰😇🙏😁🤗😉👍✌🌹

SmooothE🚔🚔

i’m 1000 percent sure she won’t get or understand especially in her age but chapeau for even trying

GomezAddams

They really didn't miss any opportunity for a joke, right down to the Laurel and 'Hardy' hand shake. Thanks for all you do and have a wonderful weekend!🤠🔥 🎥🧝‍♀️👏🫶

Mike Lemon

Doesn't she have to watch it three times to get a chapeau?

Gabriel L.

Like Cassie, this is one of my less favorite Mel Brooks movies. Not that I hate it or anything, it's got its moments and characters... but I think it's a bit more dated, a bit less tight / more inconsistent, and almost none of it really made me guffaw either when I first saw it or on repeat watching. That being said, sometimes it's fun just to watch Cassie give a movie the old college try, even if it doesn't click… it's an honest attempt at figuring out what to appreciate and that's entertaining too!

Robert Evans

My favorite story about the production of this movie is Brooks had written into the contract that WB couldn't make a sequel unless that had first made a TV series. (Cause he knew no network could air such a thing.) years later the studio calls him wanting to make a sequel and he points the contract confident he's got them boxed. They show him 22 episodes of 'Black Bart' produced and filmed but never aired. The contract did not specify it had to be aired. Luckily for Brooks the plans for a sequel fell apart on their own.

Robert Evans

A parody of westerns that Cassie and Carly would probably really like but it woujld never win any polls is 'Rustlers Rhapsdy.' More in the vein of 'airplane' but for westerns and a better plotted story than 'Blazing saddle'

Clarence Newman

Don’t be giving Zardoz compliments like that, Bob! It might make Cassie watch it! As for showing her pictures, I can’t do that because she took the new chat thingy down. Plus I never used it anyway. Cassie! Google “Sean Connery Zardoz” and check out his threads. You won’t be sorry. 😀

Bill W

Yeah Joe, I know. My point is it's been strongly recommended many times over the years although I feel it should have been obvious it wouldn't be Cassie's cup of tea. Some people enjoy watching her be uncomfortable. Personally, I'd rather see her fully enjoy a movie.

Not the Irish is historically cor- rect. So many came to USA due to potato famine that some Americans resented them-there were signs Dogs & Irishmen keep off the grass.

Clay F

My ancestors came to US from Ireland in the mid-1800s because of the potato famine. When we visited NYC, we took a tour that showed what an Irish immigrant 1800s apartment looked like. An actual apartment in a building restored as a museum.
