Safe travels and enjoy all things Canada with family and friends

Gray

D&D edit needs fixing btw it's the full reaction, hopefully about for the butter hangout

Dan M

Thanks for the updates, Cassie! Be safe on your drive to the fam reunion. Take in as much scenery as you can…one can never get enough of Mother Nature. Looking forward to the Extra Butter live from Montana…how cool is that?!

Eric C.

Erik Locquiao

Enjoy Canada, stop by my aunt and uncle’s farm in Tisdale for me.

Dan M

Bob Falfa…meet Boba Fett

Uncle Phoenix

“My Ranch; My Rules” — Kevin Costner, Yellowstone

Cole Jennett

Only about 2-3 hours from me

Erik Locquiao

One day I’ll get up there to visit, but I hate flying and that’s a far drive from LA

Clay F

Enjoy your trip. Safe travels.

Clarence Newman

I had a dream about PAF last night. I was eagerly waiting for the draw when Ivan Drago walks up, looks down at me and says…..“You vill lose”.

Clarence Newman

Happy vacation, Cassie. No one’s earned it more than you.

Happy Hanukkah

"We are breaking up the drive so lots of hours tomorrow as well!" What's that you said? Sorry, I can't hear you. You're ... ... ... breaking up. Ba-dum-tss! That's OK, I know the way out, no need to "help" me.

Ted Whalen

I hope that you have a great time with your family!

Chris Thom

Thank you, almost forgot. A LIVE from Montana is a really fun idea. Inspired like milk, some might say. Looking forward to it.

Chris Thom

May the odds be ever in your favor.

Chris Thom

He doesn't talk a lot but he does know basic statistical odds.

Mannygogou

oh wow, enjoy the time off... and the mountains !!

bgb1975 (Brian)

I've always loved road trips. The Canadian Rockies are incredible!

Chris Thom

How do you like the new stadium? Looks pretty neat from what I've seen.

Chris Thom

Heard he was a carpenter when he got the gig.

Chris Thom

I always wanted to see that Road to the Sun, or Highway of the Sun or whatever it's called. From The Shining opening. Have you ever driven it?

Above Average Dave

Ahh - road trips with young kids. Blessings to you and Ben, Cassie! Safe journeys and Happy Canada Day (1 day early) !

Clarence Newman

I'm losing faith in the possibility that Cassie's surprise reaction is going to be one of my very faves. Why else would she leave the country and go dark on here for a whole week if not to give me time to throw a full-blown paddy when she drops Battle For The Planet Of The Apes instead? It's very considerate of her if you think about it.

Mark White

Hi Cassie, enjoy your break with the family. I hope you all have a fab time and a relaxing time for you and Ben. I have to admit I’m slightly envious! I love the mountains and I would love to visit both Montana and The Canadian rockies. I think mountains are one of the most beautiful places to be, I feel so at home and relaxed when I’m around them. If you find you have a spare few hours may I recommend you watch “The Alpinist” amazing Doc about an incredible Canadian climber called Marc-André Leclerc. It’s both fascinating and emotional! Safe journey ❤️

Gray

Well it's with Carly so i'm speculating on a rewatch. Gump or Bourne or perhaps Inception.

Chris Thom

Went to a wedding at Lake Tahoe last week. Bet you would love it there.

Clarence Newman

Carly's on it too? Well, that settles it. Every reaction Carly's been on recently has been an ape movie. Ooh! Every Which Way But Loose!!

Mark White

I heard she was going to watch a double feature of “Cool hand Luke” and “Cannonball run” but I managed to change her mind for the “Sharknado” movies instead in honour of jaws 50th anniversary! 😆

Mark White

I’ve seen photos Chris, it looks amazing!

Cole Jennett

We drove down to Disneyland when I was 13. It’s definitely a long drive. 3-4 days if you stick to day driving only.

Clarence Newman

I could go for some Sharknado. It would be good practice for when they watch Jaws 2.

Cole Jennett

Also I should add, Tisdale is probably a solid 10 hours from where she’s going, lol

Chris Thom

Wasn't it Planet of the Apes? It did come out of nowhere.

Clarence Newman

Nope, On her Update-line post, POTA was in the list WITH the surprise reaction. They can't be the same thing.

Flounder

Is Cassie going to spend the Fourth of July IN CANADA? BLASPHEMY!!! Just kidding and have a safe trip. Also thank you so much for this organized way to submit requests. I promise to stop spamming the comments in the hope you’ll see my requests. Finally it would be nice if the confirmation list had the title of the submitted movie.

bgb1975 (Brian)

Going-to-the-Sun-Road? I haven't done that one - I think that's Glacier National Park in Montana. It looks so cool.

Mannygogou

"I think people place too much emphasis on their careers. I wish we could all live in the mountains in the 2nd highest altitude state. That's where I see myself in five years." Phil said 🙂 possibly facetiously... 😆

bgb1975 (Brian)

I don't know how many times I have to tell you rackin' frackin' varmints, but if there is any justice in this cruel, cold world, it's going to be "A Perfect World". Don't make me start blasting you varmints.

Happy Hanukkah

You're all witnesses, folks. RM gave me permission and even encouraged me!

Cole Jennett

I’m sure it gets slightly easier every year as they get older. No one is in diapers anymore, lol

Ted Whalen

Chris- you just missed on being in Lake Tahoe for The American Century Celebrity Golf Championship tournament. This is always a fun tournament with some really good celebrities.

Ted Whalen

I think we lost out on an opportunity for Cassie to watch the movie Road Trip (which was kind of a funny movie).

Clarence Newman

Brian’s come in with some heavy artillery there, guys. Not much Cassie wouldn’t love about that one.

Ted Whalen

12 hours is a long time to be in a car (I think my families longest road trip was 8-9 hours). I guess it will probably be faster going back to Utah since they will be going downhill.

Canadianant

Maybe it's a surprise reaction in time for Canada Day of the Canadian classic Strange Brew. 🇨🇦. Take off you hosers!

Clarence Newman

Only the film that got Rick Moranis the Ghostbusters gig!

kaiielle

Going-to-the-Sun road is INCREDIBLE and there are some fantastic hikes and views along it.

Chris Thom

Ohhhh that's probably why the hotel was so damn expensive. I don't know a ton about the area, but $250 a night seemed like a lot for Bally's.

Chris Thom

Yeah it looks beautiful. And a bit foreboding. Wonder if Cassie has ever driven it. I know she's not a huge Shining fan, but as a newish film connoisseur would think it might be a must if it's nearby.

Clarence Newman

She could always watch some folks take a road trip from sea to shining sea.

Above Average Dave

Downhill + the pull of the equator. And, of course, the Coriolis Effect.

Clarence Newman

Boooolshizzle, man! Where's my entry on that list? I know I put one in. I'm going in again and I'm choosing King Frat (1979).

Rick Williams

Every time you travel you get sick. Load up on vitamin C & Zink.

Clarence Newman

Break, you two, break! (There's mileage in this one, guys.)

Happy Hanukkah

'Tis important to take advantage of that brief period of time between your children being in diapers and you being back in them. :-) :-/

Above Average Dave

Every year we drive from North Carolina to New England to see my inlaws and assorted family and friends. Best case it's 10 hours. Worst has been 14. And when I say "we" it's almost always me driving while my wife reads magazines, browses PoshMark and Facebook Marketplace and ultimately naps 3-4 hours. She usually wakes up about 10 miles from our destination and says, "That wasn't so bad." Meanwhile, I'm so jacked-up on Diet Coke and Celsius, it takes me two hours or so after we've arrived to stop shaking. Despite all this, I am aching to drive coast to coast one summer. As Chris Knight said to Mitch: "It's a moral imperative!"

Erik Locquiao

It’s incredible. State of the art, massive, and LOUD. Rams house!

Erik Locquiao

I’m not even exactly sure where Tisdale is, not too familiar with Canadian provinces. Even though my mom has told me multiple times

Ted Whalen

Dave- that is a long drive (lots of traffic). We are getting ready for our annual two week vacation down to the Outer Banks (Duck beach). It is not too bad of a drive from the DC area (a little over four hours).

Above Average Dave

Way cool, Ted — Enjoy! I probably shouldn't share this, but if you want a taste of where the locals (i.e. North Carolinians) go that isn't quite so touristy, Emerald Isle, Atlantic Beach, Topsail Island beaches and our fave, Wrightsville Beach. The bonus with Wrightsville is Wilimington is just 10 miles away (great restaurants, historic sights and the battleship North Carolina). Second bonus, most summer days, the water at Wrightsville is a crystal blue much like the Caribbean, due to a fluke in the way the Gulf Stream flows. Oh, and if you hit Wrightsville, best breakfast and lunch is at Sweet and Savory - though it is dangerous because they have their own bakery, too. Or, if you want to see where 1985 never went away, a little further south is Carolina Beach. If you don't think you can take more than a day of that, get a place on Kure Beach (about 5 miles down from Carolina Beach) and then take a day trip to Carolina Beach, visit the '80s, then head back to modern times.

Ted Whalen

Dave- during Covid we went down to Topsail beach for Thanksgiving week. We absolutely loved it (it was about 70 degrees each day). I went down to Wilmington in 2019 for the North Carolina half Ironman triathlon. I love that part of NC!

Cole Jennett

I hope she forgets and just enjoys her trip

Ike

Woo! Just got home from a LONG DAY and I think I got my submission in just under the wire. Not sure when the polls close, but I checked the Excel sheet - it was counted. Kudos to whomever made that 🫡

Chris Thom

Dang thought there would be a post about the LIVE. Was literally here and missed it. Can you post it later?

Mike Lemon

To get a little serious for a moment, it should be The Full Monty. Back to unserious, I'm hoping for Canadian Bacon (1995).

Clarence Newman

YES IT SHOULD!!! That Joe fella who had his Full Monty pick chosen for all to see and then thrown back on the heap has clearly topped himself because we never saw him again. Cassie needs to watch it as a tribute.

bgb1975 (Brian)

I went with "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" this time, Clarence. Only because I think there's a decent chance she may eventually watch "A Perfect World" even without a PAF win.

Clarence Newman

See, that's the good thing about PAF. Somebody else's pick might also be one of your faves.

Mark Vaderr

Happy Canada Day, Cassie! 🍁

Story Archer

I don't know where to ask this so I'll just do it here? Have we heard anything on Dead Reckoning, part 2? It was one of the best action movies I've ever seen, the finale of the MI saga, and I haven't heard the ladies so much as head fake towards it. Did they go see it in theaters, are they waiting for it to release to the public??

Clay F

Listed as "unseen" at popcornrequests.

K, Zachary

I was just in Montana last summer. My friend and I went fly fishing while the girls went hiking. We saw tons and tons of Grizzly tracks but no Grizzlies at least not in Montana. We are in Chicago on Friday for the Cubs and Redbirds ( Cardinals). Going to see Jurassic World Rebirth tomorrow. night. Oh Canada Oh Canada. Thanks to the great Canadian singers like Alanis Morissette, Neil Young, Celine Dion and bands like Rush, and Nickelback.

Chris Thom

I saw that production invited more YouTubers to the premiere this year. Kinda bummed Cassie didn't get another invite.

Chris Thom

Cassie when you get back from trip any chance you could post that LIVE chat? Would love to see it. I know you're busy with family at the moment.

kaiielle

Hey Chris, unfortunately Patreon doesn't have that functionality built-in yet, so the live chat isn't able to be seen after the live is over. It's something that's being asked for, though.

Chris Thom

Awww dang. Bummer. Was reading the chat and trying to sus out what was happening but my mental imagery was way off because the comments were all over the place. I think they were on a mountain top swimming in a pool with Ben's thumb barely in the frame...? Lol

Steve Holton

I was on the road during the recent chat (3 weddings and a funeral this summer), but nice to read that “Enter The Dragon” will be on the schedule considering it would have been the great Bruce Lee’s 85th birthday this year had he lived. The film could theme week well because many stories are dragon adjacent. Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Game of Thrones, various films about training dragons, etc. But thanks again to Cassie and Ben for presenting this bittersweet classic blockbuster. So sad Bruce Lee never got to see its success. 😔

Joe J

A theme week with Under Siege and Bloodsport? I can dream, right, lol. Old Bruce Lee > than old Segal and JCVD. 😆

kaiielle

Going live on Patreon is still in beta at the moment, so hopefully they will have a live chat replay coming soon. I have definitely submitted that feedback and request.

My_Cousin_Mose

@Kaiille Are there any pros in going live on patreon vs youtube? If not I'd vote maybe stick to youtube until they get it sorted out. I also missed the live and was a little bummed not to be able to watch it later. Its the main allure of being an extra butter member for me at least.

bgb1975 (Brian)

We do need a road trip poll. "The Great Race" (1965) or "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" (1963). No others. Just those two will be adequate.

bgb1975 (Brian)

Actually, "A Perfect World" (1993) would fit the bill as well. Those three will suffice!

Gray

The live was only 20 mins long i'd say at her grandparents house, she meant for it to happen on the drive up but had no signal.

kaiielle

Please remember that going live on Patreon is a brand new feature of the platform that is still very much in its beta stage and not available to all creators yet. The PIB page has a large enough membership that Patreon often gives the PIB page early access to features for testing and feedback. Your thoughts on both the live streams and The Aviator full-length reaction was very helpful and this can all be relayed to the Patreon team by Ben and Cassie. @Mose - the one positive of going live on Patreon vs. YouTube is the lack of delay between Cassie looking at chat and when we see her respond to it. I know the delay doesn't always bother some people, but having the live feel more "real-time" is always nice.

kaiielle

@ 🏁 🎥 🎸 💔 (had a little chuckle at copying and pasting emoji's) - it could be worth trying a different browser the next time Cassie goes live to see if that CPU usage is the same or different. That feedback would be super helpful for us to give to Patreon.

Vlad D

I hope I don't miss this months drawing. I missed the last two months draws. I seem to miss when Cassie posts the date of draw. I usually see something like what is listed now, draw will be the first week. Then I come back to check only to find out the movie was picked

kaiielle

Do you have email notifications turned on for Popcorn in Bed? If not, would definitely recommend doing so! An email gets sent when Cassie goes live and she never jumps into the draw immediately. Always gives some time for people to gather.

Chris Thom

Yeah it looks like there won't be posts any more beforehand if they stick with the Patreon player. Just the e-mail five minutes after starting and a blip on the home page.

Clarence Newman

This may be the greatest thread this page has ever seen. The Great Race? It's A Mad Mad etc World? A Perfect World? Duel? If Cassie was to watch all of those back to back, I would expire.

Clarence Newman

Under Siege and Bloodsport? Add these to the suggestions in Brian's thread above, and I would expire, come back to life and expire again. Not sure about Joe's suggestion that Bruce was better than JCVD, though. He wasn't bad an' all, but I don't remember Brucie doing an epic split on the wing mirrors of two trucks.

Lis

What about Rat Race, Thelma and Louise, Paris Texas, Little Miss Sunshine, Easy Rider, Into the wild, the blues brothers haha

Lis

And whatever, but mad max fury road and furiosa i loved!

Clarence Newman

She's done a reaction to Little Miss Sunshine, Liesl, but Thelma & Louise we've been pushing for ages.

JAKH

"Kelly's Heroes" is a road trip
