Uncle Phoenix

I can’t wait til cass gets to the other Zack Snider movies.

GomezAddams

Is Kung Fu Hustle on the Already Seen It list? This movie was huge for thousands of kids growing up, and has influenced other movies from Hot Shots to Austin Powers, and it started some careers, namely Chuck Norris', as well as being responsible for a lot of picket fences being karatied. 😆

Mike T

One of my favorite movies as a kid. My dad and I would every now and then spend a whole Saturday watching all his movies.

Phil Stubblefield

🎶 "In fact, it was a little bit frightening! But they fought with expert timing!" 🎵

The One Man Reaction Faction

Bruce Lee, in his best shape, had less than 3% body fat. I think he was a mutant. He was the founding father of mixed martial arts. He adopted the "way of no way" philosophy, meaning he would study and utilize all forms of martial arts. It really upset many of the traditionalists of the time. Love all of his movies.

Richard Maurer

No, Cassie hasn’t seen Kung Fu Hustle.

Chris Thom

Good times. We used that song for a talent show in elementary school. It was ridiculous. lol

Kawaii Leonard

Kung Fu Hustle is a fever trip. But I don't think Cassie will get most of the wuxia references.

Just Plain Bob

Cassie, Roper was NEVER on Han’s team. That’s what the conversation about there being lines he won’t cross was all about. He’d happily do something shady but nothing involving actual violence against the innocent. Han suspected that and that Roper was not a reliable ally, which is why he tried to force him to fight Bruce. Incidentally, Roper was played by John Saxon, one of the most prominent actors in exploitation cinema in the 70s and 80s (kung fu movies also being considered exploitation cinema). You’ve seen him previously as Nancy’s dad, the cop, in “Nightmare on Elm Street.” Other films worth catching him in include: *Black Christmas (he’s a cop again) *Tenebre (one of the most highly regarded of the Italian gialli) *The Girl Who Knew Too Much from legendary Italian filmmaker Mario Bava

Joe J

Of course he didn't fight in competitions, but is rumored to have fought a few secret challenge matches, one of which hurt his back rather badly. Could be just urban legends.

Joe J

I think Cassie would enjoy the pilot movie for the TV series "Kung Fu". David Carradine was amazing in that role.

Tim C

Seen this one originally at the drivein as a kid ,in a 73 Omega. He was also Kato in Green Hornet 60s tv Series.

Clay F

Man of Steel and 300 may be it, unless another Zach Snyder wins a poll or PAF.

Clarence Newman

Thank you for this one, Cassie. You have ouwa gratitude!

Clarence Newman

I'm going to put this out there while Enter The Dragon is fresh in Cassie's mind. While I do NOT recommend that you watch Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) in its entirety, I certainly DO recommend you watch the main feature IN Kentucky Fried Movie, which is called A Fistful of Yen. It's a truly hilarious spoof of Enter The Dragon.

Uncle Phoenix

I guess that I mean the other Justice League movies. 🍿

Jim K

You should google Bruce Lee and watch some of his more extraordinary skills. The man was about as superhuman as a human could ever become.

Richard Maurer

There are some good YouTube videos about him.

Richard Maurer

There are so many legends about Bruce that’s it’s sometimes hard to separate fact from fiction. But there is enough real life (non movie) footage of him doing extraordinary things to prove he was an amazing individual.

Joe J

I have a feeling Cassie will watch the other Justice League movies. And Carly could join for these, which is a bonus. Excellent YT views also I think, lol.

Uncle Phoenix

That would be so awesome. Side note: even though the new Superman is great I still like Henry Cavil and the guy from Smallville as Superman

Clay F

After Superman (2025), that will be 5 Superman movies on the channel. That is incredibly generous to patrons who are Superman fans. Didn’t win polls but executive decisions. Cassie has given little indication and I’ve seen no big rallying cry for Justice League. No significant push by patrons for Justice League. I would support her reacting to them if they won a poll.

Happy Hanukkah

Which movie are you talking about? "Kung Fu Hustle" is generally understood to be the 2004 Stephen Chow movie (which I recommend for this channel), but I don't quite see how this fits in with .... Aaaand I just realized that you were switching subjects between your two sentences.

Happy Hanukkah

https://www.youtubetrimmer.com/view/?v=yAseSMlg2ug&start=24&end=25 Not only did Bruce Lee die young, but this movie was released posthumously. 2:21 Phew! I almost forgot to like and subscribe! 2:36 Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is an example of wuxia, historical fantasy which can include very unrealistic martial arts. This is a much more grounded martial arts movie. 3:11 "You gotta give it to this other guy." An uncredited appearance by Sammo Hung, who went on to become a leading figure in martial arts movies. He even headlined a successful prime-time American TV series, Martial Law. 10:49 Perhaps we should have watched this movie on January 20th. :-P :-) I continue to be amused by the multiplicity of motivations for Lee taking on Han. [The two-second clip at the beginning of the comment is from the wonderful The Sunshine Boys (1975). Who knows, maybe one day the luck of the draw will bring it to this channel.]

Happy Hanukkah

Looking forward to a Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993) reaction.

Joe J

I personally think Cassie will watch Batman vs Superman and Justice League. I think the interest for her is strong enough.

Uncle Phoenix

I honestly think that Cassie and Ben are very sophisticated when it comes to the channel’s analytics.

Richard Maurer

When the poll with both Enter the Dragon and Rounders (poll winner) was still running, I remarked EtD wound do better than Rounders on YouTube . Both are at 58k currently, but Enter the Dragon did it in a day while Rounders took a week. Yes, I’m patting myself on the back for being right, because someone has to.

Mike Lemon

"should have watched this movie on January 20th." ??? Why January 20th? Am I missing something? But if she could have bumped it up to July 20th (when he died), that would have been nice.

Anthony Padua

Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story is a must watch, if you want to know more about Bruce.

Joe J

As Cassie would say, "I need a win guys", lol. I think she got one.

Richard Maurer

HH - Exactly - it needed to be said, so I said it.

Clarence Newman

Agreed. Richard definitely deserves a pat on the back. Just let me find my cricket bat. Also, there are more celebrations to be had on the views front. Patton just hit 100k, Mad Max 2 is well on the way and Inception is already there after just 4 days. Cassie has had plenty of wins recently, so I think it's time to go slumming it with the odd Cannonball Run.

Clarence Newman

For many years, I myself have tried to live by the teachings of Bruce Lee, the following famous speech being a perfect example: "Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.” Based on this teaching alone, I am virtually a Zen master. Not only have I trained myself to be 60% water, my mind is about as empty as they come.

Clarence Newman

I have reason to believe she's seen Kung Fu Panda, though. When Mr Han is first mentioned in ETD, she says "Mr Han. Like in Kung Fu Panda." They don't call me Clouseau Newman for nothing.

Clarence Newman

I used to love the Kung Fu series, though. The number of times my Mum had to stop me picking the pressure cooker up with my forearms....

Clarence Newman

Bit of extra perspective for you. Over the past 5 years, Cassie's videos have pulled in a grand total of 165,613,656 views. (It's on her "Hey Friends" greeting on the YT channel.) Across 743 videos, that's an average of 222,898 per video.

Richard Maurer

Clarence - you and your silly cricket bat don’t scare me. Bring it on. As for the rest of your semi-coherent ramblings, they miss the most important point. That is that I correctly predicted, based easily available data, that Enter the Dragon would outperform Rounders. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, since for you missing the point is as regular as breathing.

Clarence Newman

I sometimes feel that way. If Cassie set up a panel of movie pickers and I was one of them, I'd be like Kevin Pollak in A Few Good Men: "When it comes to picking movies, I have no responsibilities here whatsoever."

Richard Maurer

Your responsibility is to advocate for Cannonball Run. What you did in a past life for that fate to fall upon you must have been truly horrendous.

Clarence Newman

I like to keep it simple. Fair warning, though. If Cassie ever watches Cannonball Run, I may become annoying.

Joe J

Words of wisdom? "See, there are three kinds of people". 😆

Clarence Newman

According to Clint, there’s only two: “Those with loaded guns, and those who dig.”

Joe J

There are varying degrees of suffering. Like preferring Cannonball Run over say...Shakespeare in Love. 😜

Clarence Newman

You ain’t seen nothin’ yet. I’d be like you if HoD ever made the October roster.

Richard Maurer

Clarence - if Horror of Dracula makes the October roster I’ll say “Okay, but what about The Final Programme?”. I’m a ‘what have you done for me lately?’ Kinda guy.

Clarence Newman

And Joe…..Cannonball Run would get way more views than Shakespeare In Love. A few less soppy sighs from Cassie perhaps, but definitely more views.

Joe J

Almost anything will get more views than Shakespeare In Love, lol.

Richard Maurer

Born On the Fourth of July is beating Shakespeare in Love…… by 3k views.

Clarence Newman

Yeah, I guess you’re right, Richard. Once Cannonball Run is out the way, I’ll be all in on Rhinestone.

Joe J

Clarence, look at the average YT views per reaction just for 2024-2025. Way down from 2022-2023. Yearly YT views are down around 15% year over year. I'm sure this is true for all the longer-term reactors. The reactorverse is in decline.

Clarence Newman

Joe. The reactorverse is in a wee slump. That doesn’t mean it won’t bounce back with the right bum in the bed.

Joe J

Best way to put more bums in the YT seats is to embrace some newer movies each month. I hope GoT will also help in that regard.

Richard Maurer

Joe - Thunderbolts would help, every major reactor has done well with it.

Richard Maurer

Clarence - From Cannonball Run to Rhinestone? So, going from bad to worse.

Clarence Newman

Well, Cannonball Run, then Cannonball Run 2, then Rhinestone. We cannot ignore the fact that Cassie will be a fan after the first one.

Richard Maurer

Clarence - So…..right down the toilet then.

Clarence Newman

Won't happen, mate. Three of a kind always beats a flush.

Richard Maurer

Clarence - with that knowledge you should be playing poker in Vegas

Happy Hanukkah

I myself am a little teapot, short and stout. Oh, see how I spout!

Chris Baldwin

I was 14 when I went with a couple friend's to watch this at the theater. After we left to walk home we were so hyped we must have kicked every street light out on the way home!! After seeing this I joined the Zen Do Kai Karate classes here in my home town. By the time I joined the Army, after High School, I became a second class brown Belt. Now I'm 66 and in remission from two Cancer's. I should have been dead four year's ago. So, it's all "gravy" now!! Take care!!
