Hey Elfies, I hope you are having a wonderful week! I keep telling myself, if I can get through the end of today- with a collab reaction ;), two Christmas class parties, kids therapy and gymnastics, family coming to stay and the YT LIVE tonight, we will be officially in the clear for Christmas!

This week on Patreon we will have our two Christmas Poll winners as well as the LIVE! The aforementioned collab reaction will be on Kat's channel but the movie is a surprise! On YT there will be Wonder Woman, A Christmas Carol 1984 and GOT!

I am so excited for the LIVE tonight-there will be treats and giveaways and trivia and packages! We will be raising money for a great cause and I can't wait to see you all there!

On YT it will be Wonder Woman, A Christmas Carol and GOT! Next week will be Rankin Bass and possibly The Bishop's Wife (if we do a watch-along for Extra Butter) which will now be Monday the 22nd. We will also be taking the week off after Christmas-but maybe a marathon of some sorts on YT could be fun!

You guys are the best and I hope you all get one of those big popcorn tins with sectioned flavors -haha do you remember those? are those still a thing? I could go to town on that cheddar stuff-and the caramel, butter didn't seem festive enough haha. What are your nostalgic Christmas treats you grew up with?

See you TONIGHT!

No GoT this coming week?

Katie Sivak

Can’t wait you will love Gremlins Please watch stranger Things Some movies for new year Hope Floats a great Sandra Bullock movie with Carly Do a Sister poll

Richard Maurer

Kat let the “cat” (couldn’t resist) out of the bag, the movie is….. *bleep*

nick bell

Phoebe Cates alert! Every boys crush in the 80s.

Zane From Canada

"We're here for the mega madness." "Super badness." 😄

Just Plain Bob

I mentioned it when I saw Kat’s most recent live: your collab reaction for Weapons is one of my favorites and y’all need to do many more collabs together. Y’all react very differently to the same scenes and the contrast is both striking and very entertaining. One Kat collab a month would be perfect.

Bryan Fritchie

Just FYI for people: The notification came out today, but the Live was last night.

Just Plain Bob

It’s no exaggeration to say that I never thought we’d get a reaction to this movie and that I’m looking forward to it more than any reaction outside of October.

Collar City Guy

Thanks Cassie, last night's live was a blast, all 3 hours and 46 minutes of it and loved every second! Hope your little one's feeling better from the flu and here's hoping you and the rest of family doesn't have it and won't get it 🙏. Never thought I'd see Meet Me in St Louis on the channel but here we are and I can't wait! As for Christmas treats, my late mother's homemade gingerbread cookies, and the old fashioned hard candies filled with a chocolatety center

Joe J

Dang it...looks like no Carly for Gremlins.

Ace Degenerate

I was hoping for “The Preachers Wife” with Denzel and Whitney but that will probably never happen 😔☹️

Jeri1979

Looks like it unfortunately, and this post is for this week, which ends tomorrow...

Garrett Wilson

Just wanted to say that last nights live stream was incredible. Cassie showed her bottomless kindness and optimism, and the fan base showed why they're the best on YouTube. Have a Merry Christmas and here's to a even better 2026!

Ginko

I'd love it if you would add The Bishop's Wife to the schedule. It was a close second in the poll and this month feels kinda light on those pure from start to finish Christmas movies

Stephen Wadsworth

Thanks for all the great content in 2025. Best wishes to you all for Christmas.

David Bockly

You and me both brother never thought Meet me in St Louis would be on the channel it was genius putting it on a Christmas poll that's the only way we had a chance to see it. Stay well Cassie and family!

Samuel Champ

Yes, popcorn tins are still a thing. Just seen a stack of them in a Walmart aisle.

Cole Jennett

It was preempted due to the live I think. Christmas season is pretty busy for her obviously so we will have to roll with the punches

Bryan Fritchie

Not this week due to her full schedule.

Richard Maurer

Cassie wants it to be a surprise, I will not say, not even if you threaten me with a Twilight movie marathon.

Frank Edwards

I couldn't believe Cassie seemed a little bit concerned with the length of the live last night, pib lives are one of the few things that really are the more/longer the merrier/better😀

Joe J

QC is sometimes a problem, lol.

Anthony Carlson

Even though I didn’t saw all of the Live, but at least I caught the moment Cassie got my package. Btw, you’re welcome on that jersey (again)! At least it’s not sacrilege this time as Cole Jennett would say! 😂 Today, as I write this, is the last day of work at my job before we shut down for two weeks for the Christmas holiday! One of the perks of where I work! Hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas! Tally ho folks!

Richard Maurer

Sounds like I missed a good one. I’ll have to watch when I get a chance.

clutchkman

My mom used to make a pan of little green mints that you eat. It still seems weird, but they were super yummy. Also, I mixed up the cheddar popcorn with the caramel ftw.

MikeLL

In fever pitch mode awaiting the download of Meet Me in St. Louis. Long anticipated, it will be a festive reaction! Can't wait!

Collar City Guy

Now it could just be my old brain glitching, but I swear last night on the live when Cassie was talking about the upcoming extra butter live/watch along, since that did come in second in the poll, it was one of the movies she was considering watching with that tier, and as it's mentioned in the post there's probably a good chance that there will be a reaction to it, so keep your fingers crossed and keep eye out for it.

Chris

I remember, growing up, I loved getting a big tin of Bad Santa every holiday season. I went crazy for all three flavors. The kind of sharp, salty one, the surprisingly sweet one, and the traditional "Christmassy" one. All so good. It's not for everyone-- certainly my mom never liked it in the house-- but it's one of my more treasured Xmas traditions

Jake McNulty

Will Carly be joining you for the "Gremlins" reaction?

Above Average Dave

Hi Cassie! Hope the live stream went well! Sorry I missed it but we are overrun with family for Christmas (in a good way...well, mostly). I wondered if there is somewhere I and others can donate to the charity? I'd love to throw a few bucks toward it. Oh, and this is going may sound a little odd but my nostalgic Christmas treat is my Uncle Tommy's homemade ravioli. He used to make literally thousands of these and on Christmas Eve open his house to everyone on his street. People would come in for homemade ravs and sauce and it would go on all night and well past the waves that came in after midnight Mass. The flavor was truly melt-in-our mouths!

Cole Jennett

I have seen some send superchats through the comments on YouTube, but if you wanted to eliminate the middle man I suppose you could send it directly to her by mail or email?

Cole Jennett

Wasn’t sounding like it because Cassie has sick kids and Carly likely isn’t willing to risk it

Stick Figure Studios

I think you will adore MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS. It's one of the all-time great MGM musicals. Bright, colorful, funny, sweet, charming, poignant and in the middle of it all the radiant Judy Garland. Classic Hollywood doesn't really get any better. But GREMLINS, one of my favorite films, is the one I am really looking forward to because even though you watched it in your youth, you apparently don't remember anything about it (other than that you were scared, which is an appropriate response). It's really one of the weirdest, most unique and most imaginative films of the 1980s. It's like a strange Muppet movie creature feature. It started out as a script written by Chris Columbus (who would later become the director of such films as STEPMOM, ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING, MRS. DOUBTFIRE, RENT, NINE MONTHS, the first 2 HOME ALONE movies and the first 2 HARRY POTTER movies) and it was conceived as more of a straight horror film, but no studio wanted to touch it. When Steven Spielberg got a hold of it, however, he thought it was incredibly creative and wanted to produce it through his new production company Amblin. His involvement turned the film into a more whimsical family-friendly affair, but his hiring of director Joe Dante (who had previously done the horror-comedies PIRANHA and THE HOWLING) gave the project a more bizarre, ironic, cynical and subversive sensibility. The result is a surreal, very original, tonally diverse (one could almost say schizophrenic) and eminently entertaining Christmas movie... although like DIE HARD and BATMAN RETURNS, there is debate online as to where or not it really is a Christmas movie. It's like a sci-fi/fantasy/horror/comedy/satire/kids/holiday flick. IT'S A WONDERFUL meets E.T. meets THE BLOB. It's definitely worth seeing. Will you like it? I think you will, but even if you don't, you will certainly remember it this time. I really can't wait for you to see it and if you do ultimately enjoy it, you should check out the sequel. It's even more outrageous, more creative, more ambitious, more satirical and more self-aware. It pivots away a bit from the horror and leans very hard into the comedy. Apparently they are working on a third one now (directed by Columbus himself) and seeing the first two should prepare you for that one. As always keep up the good work and merry Christmas. :-)

Cole Jennett

Putting 99 on the last one🙄😂

Richard Maurer

IMO - Gremlins is a Christmas movie because Christmas is a big part of the movie. Diehard and Batman Returns are Christmas adjacent - while they take place during Christmas it doesn’t really effect the overall plot of the movie.

clutchkman

The live was fun and I love the cause!

Dan M

100% accurate

Above Average Dave

If this is your abiding definition, then LETHAL WEAPON is a true Christmas movie as the alienation of loss and loneliness are central to the plot, the burnout of Martin Riggs, and the full arc where he transcends this loneliness and is embraced by Roger and his family and invited over for warm and cozy Christmas dinner (after destroying part of their house in the act of wiping out an international heroin-peddling paramilitary gang, of course).

William Brownlee

I hate we don't get Meet Me in St. Louis on YT. Love that movie. A Bishop's Wife is a very sweet movie. I think you will enjoy it a lot.

Chris Thom

Just so everyone knows, the LIVE was last night, not tonight. Was a lot of fun. It got taken down momentarily because of a Paramount copyright strike, but it's back up again. Steve and some others were very generous towards the charity and it was very, very nice. Happy Christmas, Cassie and Kernels!

K, Zachary

Dear Popcorn In Bed Family and distinguished PIB viewers. About Last Week. Wonder Woman with Carly, was very cool. New Round Of GOT. Kat let us know what she was watching with Cassie but I am not saying a dang word. We watched Kat's reaction of Gremlins which we thought she did a good job. Not that it matters, On this channel at least. Then there was the old Christmas Carol. Which we all enjoyed. We hope you had a great live event last night. My Mom unfortunately fell and broke part of her hip on Wednesday now we found out she has pneumonia. My brothers and sisters and I are switching between watching her dogs and watching her. Now that my gf is off for the weekend she can help too. About next week. We have Meet Me In St. Louis ( We love that movie) Cassie's version of Gremlins. Which we are looking forward too. We have been getting lots of treats from different non profits. Like the the triple popcorn. Song of the week: So this is one of the best songs ever written. Jeff Buckley's version is one of the saddest songs you will ever hear. However this the Christmas version song by a 12 year old autistic girl and her choir. Her is the Christmas version of Hallelujah: https://youtu.be/a220Kxk074k?si=PoPaGqLZwS5WCw1Y

Tyler Hale

Will Carly be on the Gremlins reaction?

Stick Figure Studios

I have more or less given up on arguing with people about whether or not such-and-such movie is a Christmas movie or not. I do consider GREMLINS, DIE HARD and BATMAN RETURNS to be Christmas movies (but not LETHAL WEAPON or FIRST BLOOD), but I am not longer invested enough in persuading anyone of that to fall on my sword over it. I just think it's ultimately a really silly argument and I'm tired of it. If you think they are, great. They are to you. If you think they're not, that's fine too. They're not to you. I don't care anymore.

Gray

The live was a good watch, some very funny slip ups by Cassie which gave chat a good laugh. Sad no GoT for a couple of weeks but i suppose it's not very Christmassy

Joe J

Some movies can just get embarrassing low views on YT...look at The Manchurian Candidate just posted. 30s and 40s movies you can expect to get really low views. Edit costs vary, but Cassie's edit costs per movie could run in the $400 - $500 range.

William Brownlee

I understand, but hate that so many great movies don't have a chance. I wish maye once a month Cassie could do a movie from the earliest days to the 60s. Even every couple of months. I grew up in the 70s and still remember when I got to see so many classics. Channels lie this are the only way so many younger people will ever be exposed to these great films.

Johnny Bullis

Last nights Live Event was awesome.. great movie trivia games and a lot of money was raised for a great cause. Thanks again for hosting that Cassie. All the gifts you received were awesome .. I hope you enjoy them all.. especially all those GoT Tshirts you got.. I think youre all set on those for a least a year or so. :)

Richard Maurer

Dave - Well, it’s more a Christmas movie than Diehard, but that’s not saying much. Seriously, it’s just an opinion, if someone wants to watch Diehard (or whatever) as a Christmas movie I don’t really care. Just don’t expect me to go along with it. ;-)

Joe J

Never mattered in the least to me if Cassie (or any reactor) likes or dislikes a movie...or just feels so-so about it. A reaction can be entertaining either way, it's just never going to affect how I feel about the movie.

Richard Maurer

Most likely. It’s a fairly popular movie.

Joe J

Of course, it's a big-time movie that might just get big-time views, lol.

Monte Durbin

So excited to see you're going to watch, "Meet Me in St Louis" from the great golden era of MGM musicals! Although its by no means MGM's first musical, I do consider "Meet Me in St Louis one of the Golden eras first premiering in 1944. I believe "Gigi being MGM's final golden era musical from 1958. In between, there are so many greats to discover. I'm thrilled to see it with you! Until then, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas!"

Joe J

Older films can't win Polls...so that's a big part of it also. Recency bias amongst patron voters is very real. Even getting 60s & 70s films on the channel has been a real challenge.

Stick Figure Studios

How do we know we're not getting a MEET ME IN ST LOUIS YT edit?

William Brownlee

In one of her statements Cassie said it was a patreon video. Maybe later it will end up on YT.

Stick Figure Studios

How other people (including reactors) feel about the movies they watch doesn't affect how I feel about them either, but it does please me when people like good movies, so I'm always at least a little invested in what Cassie and/or Carly think of the films they react to. Obviously I watch the channel for the reaction itself and you are right in that a reaction of disgust to a bad movie can be just as entertaining as a reaction of delight to a good movie. I don't even need the reaction to be particularly animated. It just needs to be authentic and Cassie is one of the best in that regard.

James M

That may be up to YouTube. It's a musical and YT seems very strict about music in movies. And cutting out the music in this one would leave something hardly worth posting.

William Brownlee

Shouldn't movies this old be out of copyright? 1944 so 81 years old.

Kent Theaker

So it was LAST NIGHT...even though today's post says "tonight"?

James M

Not a fan of "Gremlins" although I only ever watched it once. I will probably rewatch it. My memory of it is that it has the Spielberg hand on the rudder. Some of those movies remind me of old fairy tales (as in Grimm not Disney). A fairly simple story that a child would understand with magic and no small amount of danger - that's what Gremlins feels like to me. In that way it feel a bit like a kids movie, but I'm happy to watch again with Cassie. Now "Meet Me in St Louis" is one I really do love. The rambling feel is like book chapters. The songwriting is remarkable. Garland was tired of playing kids but Minnelli sold her on a more sophisticated portrayal, which honestly is what teens are like. (When I see her playing a teen opposite Mickey Rooney in Andy Hardy movies or Babes In Arms her lines make me think of a 10-year-old) I think Minnelli's vision is what makes the film really work. Instead of being a lot of performances glued together this feels like a whole story told in part with music. There's a reason this is among the great movie musicals.

Andrew Buel

Fingers crossed for Bishop's Wife!

Richard Maurer

Even if a movie goes out of copyright the holder can still do things to retain some rights - such as trademarking a character or logo, putting out a slightly altered version after it reaches public domain , etc.

David Bockly

Cassie when watching Meet Me in St louis I can see/hear you asking "Did the song come 1st or the movie" the song in question, no spoilers, was written specifically for the movie!

David Bockly

Not sure but I figured better to be safe than sorry

Clay F

Kent - yes. Apparently, this Coming Up was intended to be posted yesterday.

Clay F

I would think so.

Clay F

She said, "Next week will be Rankin Bass and possibly The Bishop's Wife (if we do a watch-along for Extra Butter) which will now be Monday the 22nd."

Clay F

I have never seen Gremlins or Meet Me in St Louis but will watch the reactions. Will miss Game of Thrones. Looking forward to Rankin Bass next week. I vote for a combo of Rudolph (1964) (55m) and Frosty (1969) (25m).

Byrd N. Hand

Phoebe Cates, Lea Thompson, Elisabeth Shue, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Brooke Shields, Helen Slater, Kerri Green, Jennifer Connelly -- I feel as though nearly every preteen to teenage boy in the '80s had a crush on one or more of them.

Andrew Buel

The 'possibly' was confusing me.

Shad Kanyak

Gremlins should be fun. Qualifies both as a Christmas movie and a Scary but not too scary film.

Clay F

I am fine with Die Hard considered a Christmas movie. Yet, Die Hard (released in the summer and not intended to be a Christmas movie) at its core plot is an action-thriller driven by violence, explosions, and hostage situations, with the holiday merely serving as a background setting or incidental plot device rather than a central theme. Edward Scissorhands is just as much a Christmas movie as Die Hard. Eyes Wide Shut (1999) is more of a Christmas movie than Die Hard.

Byrd N. Hand

It's more the apparent total lack of curiosity so many people have about pre-'70s movies that annoys me more than anything. Heaven forbid should they discover a new favorite movie that turns out was made some 40-50 years before they were even born. 😒

Byrd N. Hand

If you haven't heard, "Gremlins 3" has been greelit for a November '27 release, and Columbus will be directing that one. If it couldn't be Joe Dante again (I'm assuming he's retired and wants to stay retired), I'm at least glad it's him.

Byrd N. Hand

I'm guessing this post was meant to go up yesterday. A day late and a dollar short, I guess. 🤷‍♂️

Clay F

Looking forward to the Extra Butter Live on Dec. 22 (fine if you do or not do a watch-along -- either way). I am getting flu/covid shots at a doctor's appointment on Dec. 22, so may be kind of out of it at the Extra Butter Live. Curious about the collab reaction. Hopefully will be one of these Christmas movies: The Ref (1994), Carol (2015), Joyeux Noel (2005), Happiest Season (2020), Bad Santa (2003) (though maybe you don't want to do Bad Santa), or A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (2011) (standalone holiday comedy fully watchable without seeing the first two Harold & Kumar films).

Wesley White

Gremlins is a classic, never scared me as a kid, in fact I actually laughed at some of the slapstick comedy that's in it lol! Last night was fun, even though I wasn't around very long during the stream, but I'm glad you had fun and I'm glad you liked my Christmas/Birthday card with the $100 donation for charity! I also hope you like the Gingerbread flavored Werthers I sent as well😁🍬 Last night I left you a $5 super comment in the comments section of the stream with suggestions for movie polls: "Videogame to Movie" Poll and the "Harryhausen" Poll, plus a YT video link containing a movie trailer of a certain Vietman/Dinosaur movie I told you about that came out this year that you must watch, it is..... AWESOME!!! lol! I once again hope that once you finish GoT and all the trauma, you'll consider reacting to The Three Stooges series! They're perfect for cheering up and almost impossible not to laugh at their physical slapstick routines, (besides you and Carly) they've always pulled me out of a jam and made me laugh and forget my troubles lol! Once again, I'm sorry to hear you oldest child has the flu and a bad case of it, I hope and pray your child recovers soon! Love and support, you and Carly are the best, Merry Christmas, and God bless y'all and the family 🎄🎁⛄🎅🥰😇🙏🤗😉✌🌹

JohnnyUtah

I honestly forgot about those popcorn tins until you mentioned them here, I swear somebody got one every year in the 90s 😅

Stick Figure Studios

@James: I'm probably less bothered by the Spielbergian qualities of the film because he's my favorite director and the artist I credit with not only first igniting my passion for cinema in my childhood with films like RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK and E.T., but who also opened my eyes to the power and potential of cinema as a medium of artistic expression in my adolescence with such films as SCHINDLER'S LIST and SAVING PRIVATE RYAN. Nevertheless, has someone who has read the original Chris Columbus screenplay, I can assure you Spielberg made it a much better movie. His influence vastly improved the finished product.

Stick Figure Studios

@Byrd: I did hear that. In fact, I actually mentioned it in my comment and like you, I am disappointed that Joe Dante isn't directing, but I'm at least pleased that it is Chris Columbus, the creator of the Gremlins in the first place.

Stick Figure Studios

See, that's the thing, Clay. I know all the argumenrs for and against these films being considered Christmas movies or not (yes, DIE HARD, BATMAN RETURNS and GREMLINS were all released in the summertime, but then so was the original MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET) and my own criteria for categorizing holiday entertainment might be different than other people's because while I consider all the above mentioned to be Christmas movies, I do not consider EYES WIDE SHUT one... but then, as I say in my comment, I don't care anymore to fight with anybody on these points. If you think EYES WIDE SHUT is more of a Christmas movie than DIE HARD, then it is for you, and that's fine. If you don't, that's okay too. I have moved on from trying to persuade anybody to my way of thinking on this subject anymore. Life is just too short.

MikeLL

I believe White Christmas was a patreon exclusive for a year. She watched it late one Christmas season, on Christmas Eve, in fact, so it would have been too late for the season that year, so it debuted on YouTube the following Christmas season. The same may happen for Meet Me in St. Louis.

bknsty14

Missed the live last night, but the Seahawks won, so it worked out for me. I wish Christmas didn’t go by so fast, I used to live this time of year. Now, I work through most of it, and living in Texas now I don’t even get the Christmas weather I love. Probably going to be the first time in 52 years I don’t get to see my mom on Christmas. I have three sick cats at home (ringworm) and don’t think I can take them with me or leave them alone. Pretty sad. She turned 80 this year and will be alone at Christmas. Not the fun season I was hoping for.

Brent Petty

Christmas treats: We got one of those popcorn tins every year from our neighbors. We also had sugar cookies with icing, buckeyes (PB balls covered in chocolate), PB fudge, chocolate fudge, etc.

Black_TYGR

…def love the cheddar and caramel popcorn sections. Gotta be careful with the caramel ones tho. They become rock candy after awhile. Solid like a brick! 🧱

Catherine LW

In New Mexico we have green Chile popcorn and red Chile popcorn. I love both. Growing up in NJ, my Dad used to make Tom and Jerries. It’s a hot toddy with whipped egg, sugar, rum, over which you pour boiling water with a sprinkle of nutmeg on top. He made it on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve before bedtime. I remember we were excited because it was a grown up’s drink, which my parents served in tiny china teacups. I suspect it was a way to get us to go to bed because we got sleepy afterwards! We had Christmas cookies like Russian tea cakes, Italian ricotta cookies and spritz cookies (butter). One rule in our family during the holiday season was that my Mom did not cook on New Year’s Eve. We had Kaiser rolls with all kinds of charcuterie and cheese, lettuce, tomato and garnish to make sandwiches. My Dad said that since she cooked Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, no cooking on New Year’s and just leftovers for New Year’s Day.

My_Cousin_Mose

Well thats really sad! I hope you and your mom each have a nice Christmas still.

BibbitduBois

I have one of those big divided popcorn tins sitting in my kitchen as we speak. Get one every year and my wife and I both love it.

Larry Darrell

I’ve given up too, Stick. There’s no point. Everyone should be able to enjoy the films they like during Christmas, whatever they may be. If someone has a film they enjoy watching every December during the Holiday season, then I say that is a Christmas film to thee. Enjoy. If someone enjoys watching Rosemary’s Baby (1968) every December 25th, then Rosemary’s Baby is a Christmas film. (This person may be a weird psychopath, but that’s beside the point. ;-)

Brent Petty

The treats yes. The collegiate teams, NO! :)

Richard Maurer

No it wouldn’t be a spoiler. The definition of a spoiler is something that revels a plot point, plot twist, or the ending of the movie. Anything else is not a spoiler. Despite what some people here might try to tell you.

Richard Maurer

Probably just means if she can find the time. So this being the holiday season keeping your fingers crossed might be a good idea.

Richard Maurer

Larry - Well thanks for making me feel bad about my 40th annual Christmas Rosemary’s Baby rewatch!

Clay F

I have subscribed to 3 reactor channels (PiB, Canadian female 1, Canadian female 2) on Patreon since 2023 w/o interruption. I only watch full reactions – no YT edits. When I watch a full reaction by Canadian female 1 or Canadian female 2, I typically rewatch PiB full reaction side-by-side if Cassie has reacted to that content. A. PiB. Spend most of my Patreon time here. Watch almost all of her full reactions. GoT has been a godsend. B. Canadian female 1. She was on Poppies one year. This year, watched about half (or a little less) of her full reactions weekly. Most of her reactions are Patreon exclusive. She occasionally does a YT edit and some do well w/views on YT. She typically has 3 full reactions every week. This week, she had [1] TNG (1 episode) (watched), [2] Willy Wonka (1971) (poll winner) (watched half of reaction) (my kids when young mesmerized by that movie), [3] The General (1927) (she reacts to an AFI Top 100 movie typically every Friday called “AFI Friday” – I didn’t watch The General but might -- I watch about half or more of her AFI Friday reactions – I like learning about older movies). She splurged this week and gave us a 4th reaction as a tribute to Rob Reiner: [4] Stand by Me (1986) (she wrote “Rest In Peace, Rob.”) which I watched – rewatched Cassie’s reaction (Feb 2021) side-by-side. For TNG, she reacted to select episodes of S1/S2 but quit skipping episodes starting with S3. She reacts to only 1 TNG episode each week – so will take a while to finish TNG series – TNG is a highlight for me. This week, she reacted to Captain’s Holiday (Picard romance), which is one of my favorite TNG episodes of S3 – some TNG fans are not as fond of that episode as I am. C. Canadian Female 2. She on Poppies one year. Currently, for most part, only content I watch is her reaction to DS9 (2 episodes) every week. I did watch her reaction to Edward Scissorhands last week (watched Cassie’s reaction side-by-side). This week, she reacted to [1] Seinfeld (2 episodes) (I love Seinfeld but quit series reaction b/c time constraints), [2] Futurama (2 episodes), [3] When Harry Met Sally (poll runner-up), [4] DS9 (2 episodes), [5] Innerspace (1987) (poll winner).

Mad World

Dont take giga break with GoT plz :D

Astraeos

Yeah, defo a bummer we're having to wait basically a month. Oh well.

Byrd N. Hand

So you did, Stick. Evidently I kind of glossed over your last paragraph. 🤷‍♂️ Carly would definitely be able to handle "Gremlins 2," but without the context of the first one, I feel though she'd find it even more utterly ridiculous than she would otherwise -- potentially another "Batman" '89 debacle. 😬

Byrd N. Hand

Eh, it's a remake of "The Bishop's Wife." Always gotta go with the OG first.

Larry Darrell

Nooooo, don’t feel bad Richard. Just trying to keep every body honest this time of year. :-) You be you and I'll be me. It's just a matter of style. You can fake it, mile after mile, feeling free. But, if you got the soul… we can make it. ;-) Have a Merry Christmas!! And hey, when you look in that baby’s crib, just remember the name Immanuel. ;-)

Joe J

😨😭

Rene G.

I heard Cassie in her old post saying she showed Carly a picture of cute gizmo and her reply went "So furbies?" C'mon I thought she said she's cool seeing it with her.

Richard Maurer

Larry - So is my Thanksgiving Cannibal Holocaust rewatch okay too? ;-)

Larry Darrell

Oh, Absolutely! I bet that film goes great with the Cranberry sauce.

Byrd N. Hand

Spoiler alert: CF2 is Jen Murray. Not sure about CF1, though. I swear, there might be even more Canadian reactors than American ones. 🤔 Even Cassie and Carly themselves are Canadian ex-pats.

Clay F

Number of YT views for some YT edits released in the last month. 81k (1 day) – Wonder Woman (2017) 63k (6 days) – Twins (1988) 19k (8 days) – The Manchurian Candidate (2004) 105k (12 days) – GoT S4:1-2 52k (2 weeks) – Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) 198k (3 weeks) – GoT S3:9-10

MMISL is one of the best movies ever.

Stick Figure Studios

One of the things that I have found has helped me in looking at this, Larry, is to look at it not as a case of either / or (It's a Christmas movie or it isn't), but as a sliding scale. Some movies are "more" Christmas movies than others. Nobody is going to say, for example, that NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION Isn't a Christmas movie, but a number of people aren't convinced about DIE HARD. I Personally have no problems calling either one a Christmas movie, but maybe CHRISTMAS VACATION It's just more of a Christmas movie than DIE HARD is... Meanwhile, Die Hard is more of a Christmas movie than EYES WIDE SHUT or LETHAL WEAPON. Something like ROSEMARY'S BABY would be way on the other end of the spectrum.

What you have is ok. No worries. No change needed. Thanks for asking.

Byrd N. Hand

Why are the thumbnails for the YT edits suddenly being blurred now? 🤷‍♂️

Clay F

Blurred on Patreon? The two YT edits above this Coming Up post have clear thumbnails.

Byrd N. Hand

Maybe us freeloaders are getting shafted again... 🤷‍♂️

Joe J

You're lucky Byrd...most channels don't allow free grazers, lol.

Byrd N. Hand

Not that I'm able to see the full posts anyway, but it's kind of a weird thing to start doing all of a sudden... especially since everyone eventually sees them on YT (and all others below from "Twins" on down remain unblurred). 🤔

Dean Holt

I’m kinda hoping it’s Krampus with Kat doing mostly horror movies. Violent Night, Better Watch Out & Fatman all could be fun too.

Clarence Newman

Byrd. The thumbnail showed as blurred for me the first time, but now seems to be clear. Never seen it on any others. Might be so that unsavoury types can't screenshot the thumbnails and start their own "Popcorn On Bed" channel.

Chris Thom

Patreon has started to make me sign in manually every time for some reason. Google used to do it automatically. Not sure if that's what you meant.

Chris Thom

Happy Christmas! Plus one for the cheesy popcorn. Whole big tin of that, if available. Even after a month, still tastes pretty good. Go preservatives. Dad's friend gifted him and fam a sweet four day stay at his coastal home/air bnb in Mendocino coast. Great time and beautiful area. But I totally thought of PIB while there because we spent an afternoon in that wharf town from Overboard! The storyline of that actually kind of tracks, because it's a bit of a hard-scrabble, working class kind of area. Cute town though. Could imagine Kurt Russel growing up there in real life. Always have to visit any filming locations I can find, and luckily mom, dad, and sister always humor me. Think they might enjoy it too, but not totally sure. Lol. Also saw the lighthouse from The Majestic, the little town from East of Eden, some locations from Forever Young, the house from Cujo, and the Victorian from Sharp Objects HBO. I get such a dumb thrill from that kind of thing, it's ridiculous. Hope you'll share those vlogs with us some day like you prom-prommed. Think it would be fun to see!

Chris Thom

They were ubiquitous, for real. The true face of the 90's. That and the singing trout thing.

Chris Thom

Oh dang, totally forgot I won one of those gift cards. Haven't seen The Santa Clause in 23 years, but that answer came to me with lightning quickness for some reason. Happy to see the money raised for charity. That's awesome.

Chris Thom

Pretty sure you said you knew what the secret reaction with Kat was going to be. Any chance you could tell me what it is, and then delete your response after?? I really want to know!

Byrd N. Hand

Oh, no, Clarence, Cassie and Ben are finally on to me... 😮

Mark White 2

Cassie, my Nostalgic Christmas treats will be: “Mint matchmakers””Terry’s chocolate orange” and “After Eights” not sure how many of them you would know, but the UK members will be well aware! 😋 Can’t wait for Gremlins, but might have to wait now until the YT edit. I’m afraid I won’t be joining in on any popcorn related fun/reactions as Ive had to set up a free membership/second Patreon account, due to Patreon deleting my entire account and my annual payment which I only made a couple of weeks ago! 🤦‍♂️ So I’m currently in a battle to get my account back or my money back! I’m sure I will console myself with a watch of Die Hard YT edit and NLCV Edit for Christmas. Have a happy Christmas. ❄️🎅🏻🎁❤️

Mark White 2

It’s amazing how much Cassie Patreon numbers have gone up since GoT!

Clarence Newman

Well, that's bullsh*t, Mark. Sorry you're having to deal with that right before Crimbo. To anyone who can do anything about this, please get Mark's subby back up and running as soon as possible. He's one of our best.

Clarence Newman

And Mark.....when they get your old account back up, you'll be able to put in two pick-a-flicks. The Insider would then be a frontrunner.

Mark White 2

😆 true, but I’m a gentleman and play by the queenberry rules! I would never. 😉 To be honest, it might get to a point where I have to pay again, Which sucks! But I’m not missing out on my chance at pick a flick for January. It’s been absurd situation, as I apparently have never existed on Patreon. I’ve sent them screen shots of my bank payments for extra butter, but nope! Don’t exist. I’m starting to think the only person who may be able to tell Patreon I have existed and that I am a genuine follower of PiB is Cassie or Ben. But I’m still going through the process. They might be my last resort.

Chris Thom

Patreon is a whack attack lately. Mine is still very glitchy and slow out of nowhere. I'm assuming there's some kind of data-mining going on. Or ai or something. I don't know I don't really speak computer science. But I know it sucks.

Clarence Newman

Staple Christmas movies? When I was a kid, it was Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins. Not exactly Christmas movies but they were always on at Christmas so that's what I associated them with. For a while we added It's A Wonderful Life, but that only lasted a few years. It's now once every 3 or 4. Current staples are Love Actually, The Holiday and Last Christmas with Emilia Clarke. I keep waiting for those three to fizzle out, but somehow they never do. (I love Die Hard but I don't associate it with Christmas.) Would love to find a new one, but those are my cornerstones for now.

Mark White 2

You and me Chris are so on the same page! “I don’t really speak computer science” is going to be on my gravestone! 😂

Clarence Newman

Yep. Patreon doesn't work as well as it used to, that's for sure.

Mark White 2

As a kid, my memories of movies that were always on every year at Christmas time were: Towering inferno The Poseidon Adventure The searchers Where Eagles Dare And loads of “Carry on” movies!

Sam

Cassie and Carly - wishing you and your families a Merry Christmas. It's been a Wonderful Life with you this year. Mike, Lincoln.

Mark White 2

Clarence, if I was of a paranoid nature, which I’m not. I would be going nuts right now! So I just looked back at the weekly update from a couple of weeks ago when you eagle eyed my surname change and I’ve noticed all my comments have been removed! Clarence it’s like you are having a convo with a Mark who doesn’t exist! What’s that movie with Mel Gibson where he is paranoid about everything, conspiracy theory?! I’m heading into dark waters I feel! 😨😂

Gray

Raiders of the Lost Ark & The Great Escape have always been on TV at Xmas i feel. I thought last years Wallace & Gromit was great, i've seen the shorts at Christmas many times. Tempted to change my PaF to Curse Of the Were Rabbit if The Nice Guys wins that buddy cop poll in the new year.

Richard Maurer

Patreon seems especially glitchy outside the US. I’ve had some minor problems but nothing like what you’re experiencing.

Mark White 2

It’s been testing Richard! The PiB account I have now is just a free membership one, you really only get access to the weekly update. I’ve just been sent a email for my second account, saying 60% of your first month for Popcorn in bed if I sign up before the 30th. So I may take that up as a temporary option, until I hopefully get my old account back. At least I will be able to enter for PaF. I just don’t want to pay for another full annual amount, (as I’ve just paid it!) until I’m out of options! Have a good Christmas Richard.

Mark White 2

I did happen to glance through the TV mag at the supermarket the other day and Raiders is on Christmas Day again!

Clay F

When I was a kid, it was Rudpolph the Rednose Reindeer (1964) and Frosty the Snowman (1969). Merry Christmas.

Scott

Merry Christmas from Australia to Cassie, Ben and her family. May you find Jon Snow under your tree for your Christmas present this year

Mike Lemon

It looks to be YouTube's (and Great Britain's and Australia's) dumbass age restriction being buggy (or acting as intended, who knows). I just saw it on another browser I am signed out on.

Richard Maurer

Violent Night is now my current favorite Christmas film.

Clarence Newman

Don't pay again, Mark. If it comes down to it, we'll appeal directly to Cassie and Ben. This is not right.

Mark White 2

Well I got a new email last night asking for yet more Bank details. I flat out refused they already asked for the last 4 digits, expiry date, name of bank, any old bank cards I have used on Patreon. Now they want the BIN number! I just said you’ve got enough! Again if I was paranoid, I would think someone (Yliz is the name of the person) at Patreon is on the fiddle!

Clarence Newman

Agreed. Treat it like a con, Mark, cos that's exactly what it is. If I were you, I'd stick a letter to Cassie and Ben on the next update. It's them you pay, so I'm sure they'll help.

Mark White 2

Will do. Cheers mate and Happy Christmas 🎁❄️🎁🎅🏻☃️

Patrick Switzer

Merry Christmas to Cassie and Carly and Ben and everyone on Patreon and YouTube and Happy New Year
