Only one Duo wins!! Who will it be?!

Whatcha gonna do when they come for you!?

Comments

Andrew R

Missed Beverly Hills Cop II, but if Cassie truly hasn't seen Rush Hour that's the winner.

Eric C.

Many of these are great choices but The Nice Guys is one of my favorite movies EVER.

Zane From Canada

WOW! WHAT A POLL! I'd be happy with any of these.

WestBound

Blowout alert ⚠️

Liam Nissan

Still holding out hope for Nice Guys 2

Ted Hadley

All of these are worth watching

Jon Johns

Oh boy, I was hoping for Midnight Run, but... I guess they're not cops? 🤣 Is "Stakeout" (1987) too obscure?

Blake Evans

Come on Nice Guys! One of the few times I was rolling on the floor with laughter.

Bill Maurer

48 Hours today, tomorrow and next week. Maybe one of the original "Buddy Cop" movies out there.

Walt

The Other Guys and The Nice Guys are both fantastic, for very different reasons.

Juan Cantu

The Nice Guys is a no brainer. 🤘

Charles Briggs

Gotta be Bad Boys for me Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are the only duo to come close to Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as the perfect buddy cop duo plus the action in the Bad Boys Franchise is A1 much better than the overrated Rush Hour series in my opinion 🤷‍♂️

Mark White

Only one!! I could go for most, if not all of them.

Popcorn In Bed

i was going to but that’s already coming v soon ;)

Black_TYGR

Great idea! You’re so creative, Cassie. Luv how you keep things fresh on your channel! 🤍🔥

Nim

Rush hour should win but I would have loved to have seen Sherlock Holmes up there. RDJ and Jude Law are excellent.

Mark White

Cassie, I do hope we get Beverly Hills Cop 2 at some point this year? 🙏

Rosario Cicero

Depressing that 48hrs is lagging behind. Where my generation X peeps at??

Samuel Champ

Who will it be? Not the one I vote for as usual. ☹️ Seriously, theyre all good films, cant go wrong.

Bryan David

Vote The Nice Guys, pretty please. Let's not ruin a perfectly good poll, lol.

Larry Darrell

After you see City Slickers, it’d be cool to watch the Buddy Cop duo of Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines in… Running Scared (1986)… which takes place during the Holidays in Chicago… making it a CHRISTMAS FILM. :-)🎄

Jared Petty

Regardless of who wins this poll, you'll eventually want to get around to The Nice Guys. It's too unique to miss.

Cole Jennett

I don’t think she will like it to be honest.

Michael

These are all bangers

Jonathan Caro

This is a tough one between Rush Hour and The Nice Guys.

Johnny Salinas

Loaded Weapon 1 is a spoof of the Lethal Weapon movies with Emilio Estevez and Samuel Jackson 😊

Story Archer

When are we getting back around to Beverly Hills Cop II??? Cassie loved the first one!

Jens Kristensen

"Bad Boys" ... I have seen that one countless times... but "48 Hours" is so close behind that it's putting bananas in the tailpipe...

Clay F

Cole, I think she would like 48 Hrs.

Clay F

I voted 48 Hrs [RT 92%]. Great interaction between Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte. Cassie would like the arc. Murphy received Golden Globe nomination for New Star of the Year. A more noir feel than BHC. Nick Nolte did great as his ‘buddy’. One of the most commercially successful films of 1982.

Justin

I loved Rush Hour when I was younger but it has not aged well. The Other Guys though in my opinion is underrated.

Story Archer

Of all of these, I liked the second one more than the first... I'll go with Rush Hour because I can't remember Cassie seeing Jackie Chan before.

Chris Brown

The Nice Guys is absolutely unique and laugh out loud funny. Please watch it soon.

Alex Gorell

The other guys! Hope you get around to it eventually.

Patrick Gibbs

IMO 48 Hours is the best on this list, but won’t win. Probably the age of the movie and Nolte not being that famous anymore. I hope she watches it some day though!!

PapaXan

Tough choice here. I do like 48 Hours as a more gritty buddy cop film, and it was Eddie Murphy's first major role. Decisions decisions.

Ike

Awww. What a great poll! I have favorites but I’ll have to choose the one that I think will make a stellar reaction, and that will have to be… The Other Guys. (we love to see Cassie fall over and disappear from view when laughing) 🤣

Chris Brown

To those of you who have not seen The Nice Guys: Watch it tonight then come back here and reconsider your votes.

Ross Hardie

I would be happy with any of them, but the leader for me is The Nice Guys. Same writer behind Lethal Weapon, Predator, Last Action Hero, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Monster Squad. That's quite a list of buddy movies.

Shehab Dawoud

Very few actors have had better chemistry than Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. It’s a no brainer!

Dave

Nice guys vote for The Nice Guys, so I'll be nice and vote for it.

Tim Weaver

Crap I voted 48hrs then noticed the nice guys. Both sooooo good. Any chance of a tie?

Nick Beckwith

Have Lethal Weapon and particularly Lethal Weapon 2 been considered/already seen? Gotta love Riggs, Murtah, & Leo Goetz!

Shehab Dawoud

You mean society hasn't aged well. Rush Hour is still being watched, plenty of reactions on YT and 90% of them laugh like crazy.

Björn Karlsson

Hmmm you have already seen The Nice Guys, according to Popcorn request. 🤔😬🤨.... and Rush Hour 😐🤔😮‍💨

Steven Fordham

You left out Zootopia, which is now my favorite buddy cop movie.

MikeLL

C'mon The Nice Guys! I'd take Rush Hour, but The Nice Guys is really different, in a good way! Angourie Rice is a great little scene stealer!

Adam Doyle

The Other Guys is Hilarious! Rush Hour is a quality fun flick too!

Bill Maurer

Running Scared is a vastly underrated movie .... great choice

Tyler Foster

The Nice Guys > The Other Guys > Rush Hour > 48 Hrs. > Bad Boys. Only caveat is The Nice Guys isn't technically a buddy-cop movie (neither are cops). Would also love to see the buddy-but-not-cops action/comedy The Long Kiss Goodnight someday (which I think is pretty high on the Popcorn Requests app).

Carolee Barry

The heat with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy

Nim

They've already been reacted to

Raymond Terry

Everyone should watch The Nice Guys. It's underrated going on a decade.

Choof

Nice Guys for me, but all good options

ShadowStunts

Come on everyone we need to get The Nice Guys to win

Ted Whalen

We ain’t brothers, we ain’t partners and we ain’t friends!!!!!!

Mark White

+1 for loaded weapon. Cassie loved the Lethal Weapons

Kawaii Leonard

I'm only voting for Rush Hour to get to Rush Hour 2, a much better movie.

Louis Chapman

For what I think you'd enjoy, I would say definitely Rush Hour. My next pick would be the Other Guys. I've only never seen the nice guys. For as funny as Eddie Murphy is I can't see you enjoying 48 hours, it's a bit raunchy and the comedy is old school.

Johnny

I can't believe people are picking Rush Hour over The Nice Guys..

kaiielle

You can always change your vote, if you want!

Chad Laurence

I think she's already watched it.

Jake McNulty

Looks like "Rush Hour" is the favourite. I was going to go for "The Other Guys", but then I noticed "48 Hrs." was on this poll. Of course I'll be happy whatever wins, as long as it's not "Bad Boys".

Mark Deadman

The Nice Guys is the best one on the list. It's a film that I tell everyone to watch. 😁

Shehab Dawoud

I agree, Kawhi. Nice dunk the other week!

Robert da Spruce

For me, it’s between the Other Guys and Rush Hour I think Rush Hour would be more to Cassie’s liking

Mikkel

The other guys is by far the funniest of these.

Jake McNulty

I think Cassie might've already seen that off channel. Not sure if she's seen the sequel though.

Clay F

Anything but Bad Boys [unless it were Bad Boys (1983)]. I voted 48 Hrs but would change my vote to Nice Guys (my 2nd choice) if needed to head off a surging Bad Boys, or to beat Rush Hour.

Above Average Dave

THE NICE GUYS is laugh-out-loud funny at times and very well paced. That said, one of my go to quotes is, “Luther, are you angry with me?”

Jake McNulty

Either those were mistakes, or, as with "Forrest Gump" and "Gremlins", she saw them so long ago she's willing to consider a re-watch.

Norman Vadeboncoeur

The Nice Guys is the best movie on this list. Rush Hour hasn't aged particularly well.

Chris Retzlaff

Oh, What an opportunity to watch 48 hrs....that would add to the other eddie Murphy movies shes seen.

Mark White

Cassie has seen them. Very good reactions.

Jay Jay Reyes

Good poll Cassie. On point girl. 48 hrs. The OG buddy cop movie but I can see why Rush Hour will win.

Brian Sheely

I would have suggested End of Watch, but that’s a realistic movie about LAPD cops. I can’t help but notice only juvenile comedies made this list.

Shawn Kildal

A little off topic, Greenland 2 is opening this weekend and it looks great. I don't think Cassie has seen the the first one which was amazing. Would love to see a reaction to it!

Clay F

Good point Chris. Eddie Murphy's first movie. Another 80s Murphy movie to complement BHC to better understand his career.

Stan the Man

Man. This is a tough poll. I voted for Bad Boys even tho it’s not my fav just because I’m hoping it would lead to Bad Boys 2 which has to be seen to be believed

Matt Rose

The first film was surprisingly awesome, one of the best 'the world is ending' films I've seen.

Bill W

Just looking at the titles I'm pretty sure which one is going to run away with it. (Nope- I was totally wrong and very surprised.)

Matt Rose

considering how much Cassie loved KKBB, I'm throwing my weight behind THE NICE GUYS. That should be right up her alley.

Clay F

I am surprised Bad Boys currently in last place -- I remember the Will Smith movie winning the Gene Hackman poll. And didn't "I, Robot" win a poll? Glad to see that any Will Smith star power doesn't seem to be helping Bad Boys that much.

Clay F

I was thinking Bad Boys would run away with -- but I was so wrong. Bad Boys currently in last place, which admittedly I am glad.

Johnny Bullis

Blue Streak should be on this list.

JohnnyUtah

Where is Tango & Cash!!! Is there gonna be a round 2???

Clay F

She can handle raunchy and old-school comedy just fine. She would like the arc in 48 Hrs. Plus, would be good for her to better understand Eddie Murphy's career.

insanevictor

Rush hour- is a classic. Def a must watch. The Other Guys- is probably my favorite tho, (the unrated version) much better and more scenes than the theatrical release. Future ones to consider- 1. The Heat- w/ Sandra Bullock & Melissa McCarthy 2. 21 Jumpstreet- w/ Channing Tatum & Jonah Hill 3. End of Watch- Michael Peña & Jake Gyllenhaal

mikethemotormouth

I can't believe either are being picked over Other Guys

Daniel Turbyfill

Showtime with Eddie Murphy and Robert Dinero would be a fun one

Philip Alan

Bad Boys &/or 48 Hours should be smoking this poll. Meh. Rush Hour is fun and all...

Clay F

+1 for 21 Jumpstreet but she has seen it.

Sonny

All these years later, after that slap, I still can't bring myself to watch any Will Smith movies.

Code Monkey

Harumph! Those peasants and their juvenile comedies. Good day sir!!!

Dolores Bellini

48 hours is hilarious. Best of the bunch.

Gray

The Nice Guys all day, but I don't mind some Jackie Chan action.

Clay F

End of Watch currently No. 443 at popcornrequests. You can upvote if you haven't already.

Cole Jennett

She watched it a couple years ago on the channel

Juan Cantu

It’s on the channel

keoma songs

Just checked and you're right, they are listed as 'seen'. Also Rush Hour 3 oddly enough but not Rush Hour 2. That strikes me as unfortunate, #3 was terrible while #2 is still entertaining enough. Other potential options for either this or a future poll: As someone else posted, THE HEAT (2013) is not listed as seen, is a buddy cop movie (or at least both law enforcement), has Sandra Bullock, and was a hit comedy. Heck, even SPY (2015) would be an arguable choice with McCarthy and Statham's chemistry, though as spies and not cops and a lot less buddy elements than the others. Someone also mentioned RUNNING SCARED (1986) and that would be a fair choice. I haven't seen it in years but I remember liking it well enough.

Eric

Even though it's not a buddy "cop" movie. I also gotta vote for The Nice Guys. It's the best movie on this list imo. But all the other movies are definitely fun to watch, too.

Sonny

The Other Guys might be my favorite Will Ferrell movie, it's hilarious. But of all these movies, The Nice Guys gets my vote. I feel that it's an underappreciated gem. And such a good throwback to buddy cop movies of the 80's and 90's. You've got Gosling and Crowe and Angourie Rice all doing great work

MrKsummer7

I'd rather wait 48 Hrs just to hear Jack say, "You’re done, End of Story."

Joseph Fabian

The Nice Guys not being the front runner is a TRAVESTY! Hopefully, she does the runner up!

Michael Avalos

I agree. I won’t watch a Will Smith movie after that slap. I don’t even like seeing his face.

Cole Jennett

We disagree on The Sopranos as well, so that’s ok😉

Dez

The Nice Guys, all day long. So rewatchable.

Collar City Guy

Cassie should Rush Hour come out on top, I think you will love it, with its great action sequences, and even better comedy moments!

MertzRocks

No love for The Other Guys... Have y'all not seen this? Okay it's typical Will Ferrell but it's also high-larious.

Robert Baldino

The Other Guys is great, really funny. I like The Nice Guys more, though.

woofman

Definitely Rush Hour! Your gonna laugh real hard from Chris Tucker believe me!

Shad Kanyak

The Nice Guys is my favorite movie of the 2010’s. So good.

Robert Baldino

End of Watch is really good, but this poll is definitely for movies with a much different vibe.

Larry Darrell

And the Buddy duo of Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson that was sadly missing from last month’s lineup… The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996)… same writer, Shane Black.

Larry Darrell

Private Detectives are pseudo-cops, so I’d say it’s basically the same thing.

Junior

All buddy cop movies owe everything to Freebie and the Bean. But it’s not here. So, if everyone had their wits about them, like I do, the results of this poll SHOULD be 48H, TNG, RH, TOG, and BB. You’re welcome.

Junior

Completed unrelated, but I never miss a chance to say, “Cassie, please watch “The Verdict.”

Rosario Cicero

Her “liking” something is not the criteria for a reaction

Larry Darrell

Just watched the first one last weekend, after seeing the trailer for the second. Very surprisingly awesome! I don’t normally like many newer films, but that was terrific. +1 for Greenland (2020)

Clay F

Review data. Ignore if not interested. IMDb 7.1, RT 62% = Rush Hour IMDb 7.4, RT 91% = The Nice Guys IMDb 6.9, RT 92% = 48 Hrs. IMDb 6.7, RT 78% = The Other Guys IMDb 6.8, RT 46% = Bad Boys 48 Hrs. “Marking an auspicious feature film debut for Eddie Murphy, 48 Hrs. is a briskly paced action comedy that succeeds largely due to the outstanding chemistry between its two leads.” Nice Guys “The Nice Guys hearkens back to the buddy comedies of a bygone era … the irresistible chemistry of its leads.” Bad Boys "Bad Boys stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have enjoyable chemistry; unfortunately, director Michael Bay too often drowns it out with set pieces and explosions in place of an actual story."

Tyler Foster

More than anything, I think people are so used to the phrase "buddy cop" that they feel weird just saying "buddy movie," especially when they are private detectives.

Anthony DiBern

As much as Cassie loved Beverly Hills Cop, 48 Hours will be *the* movie.

Jen Barnes

The Nice Guys is the best, followed by The Other Guys *️⃣ in my opinion *️⃣

Tom Castro

Cassie, you (and Carly) are going to LOVE 48 Hours (Eddie Murphy's first movie) and the entire Rush Hour franchise. There's an excellent "Buddy Cop" movie that reactors overlook: "Running Scared" starring Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines. I've always wondered why there was never any sequals to that movie, it was very funny and had lots of action. I hope you take that into account and get around to it.

Clay F

I am more influenced by Bad Boys being another mediocre Michael Bay movie than the slap.

Tyler Foster

For me, The Other Guys might be Ferrell's best pure comedy, with Step Brothers in second and Talladega Nights is a distant third. But I would definitely vote for The Nice Guys over The Other Guys, among The various Guys.

Ted Whalen

There is a new sheriff in town, and his name is Reggie Hammond!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Hi Cassie, didn't you do a reaction to The Naked Gun (1988)? Was it a similar situation to Batman (1989) where you decided not to upload it?

Erik Locquiao

RUSH HOUR LETS GOOOO. Need more Jackie Chan on here

Chris Thom

I've passed 48 Hours sooooo many times on cable, but I don't think I've actually seen it yet. Prime Nic Nolte and Eddie Murphy if I remember right.

Larry Darrell

Yeah the “Cop” part of the descriptor is basically there to tell you there’s action, which most of the time involves cops, but not always. The “Buddy Comedy” is what you would say if there isn’t any action. There’s also “Action Comedy,” which would be for films that don’t have the buddy aspect I guess.

dansoddity

was pulling for the nice guys, but you know what, the fact it's got that many votes anyway makes me feel good about this community.

Brett Richey

Can't wait to watch the most obvious winner again. Sarcasm font withstanding.

Ross Hardie

This is true. Although Shane says this is the film that made him take a break and why he directed his next film. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Larry Darrell

I always wanted a sequel to Running Scared (1986) too. Very underrated film. My favorite Buddy Cop duo too.

Clay F

Ted -- I love that line/scene.

Joe J

I'll go with Rush Hour to get a Jackie Chan movie.

Richard Maurer

It’s actually still fairly close between Rush Hour and Nice Guys, but RH will probably take the win.

Brett Richey

Nice Guys finish second. I know it's 'last' in normal play but forgive the adjustment.

Richard Maurer

I voted for 48 Hours, but I’ll probably switch to Rush Hour when it becomes obvious that 48 Hours can’t win. At least getting Rush Hour out the way means it can’t mess up a future martial arts poll, if we ever have another one.

Brett Richey

It's actually a really good film... but wow does it have problems now. I don't care 'bout that btw as I can watch a film in non-woke mode and just enjoy a time and a place.

Jason Weiner

Looks like we won't be seeing the best one for a while. Bummer

Richard Maurer

She usually mentions if it’s a re-watch so I not sure what’s going on here.

Richard Maurer

Another poll that I don’t really care what wins. Voted for 48 Hrs., but that’s not going to win. I’ll likely switch to Rush Hour just to get it out of the way.

Walter

Wow, there is no bad movie on that list, except Bad Boys. I think The Nice Guys is the best - could have sworn she saw that already… but I’ll be happy whoever wins. Unless it’s Bad Boys.

Mark Vaderr

When's the Pick-A-Flick?

Bill W

It's not the one I voted for, but I expected 48HRs to win easily. Maybe the community demographic is shifting? I recall seeing tons of requests for it over the years.

Richard Maurer

I would have voted for it if it were on here, but it wouldn’t beat Rush Hour anyway.

DSM The Editor

Certainly! Would love to see more Chan on her channel if she's never seen

Chris Thom

I just remember it being on Comedy Central non stop growing up. Think I used to stop and watch for five minutes or so but could never figure out what the vibe of it was supposed to be.

Chris Thom

Which is the best? I've only seen two and a half of these.

Joe J

Next Pollception?

Chris Thom

That was pretty much it, I think. She didn't like her overall reaction to it so just scrapped it.

Clarence Newman

Good list, Cassie, but you've overlooked so many superb movies from the genre, we're gonna need a second poll: Freebie and the Bean (1974) - The archietypical buddy cop comedy, with James Caan and Alan Arkin in superb form. Bullitt (1968) - Steve McQueen with Don Gordon, who only got the role because he was McQueen's bestest buddy. Dirty Harry (1971) - Clint always had a partner. They just didn't last very long. Running Scared (1986) - Another fun buddy cop movie, with Gregory Hines showing us all how to deal with disrespectful kids. "Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessss!!" Out For Justice (1991) - Steven Seagal goes on a butt-kicking bender when someone shoots his cop buddy. "Has anybody seen Richie??" Training Day (2001) - Denzel and Ethan Hawke on the same page from start to finish. Rio Bravo (1959) - I won't stand to be disparaged. John Wayne and Stumpy are Wild West cops and very definitely buddies!

Bill

You have a Bad Boys reference on this poll and stupid rush hour is winning????

Kirk Barbera

Rio Bravo is my favorite film of all time!

Gray

I asked ages ago and the Nice Guys being watched is an error

Gray

I remember seeing that podcsat ep where your editor mentioned that The Nice Guys is his favourite film if that sways it 😊. In any case it's still my PaF choice and has been for over half a year.

Doc Larry/old geezer

Running Scared • Actors: Billy Crystal, Gregory Hines • Type: Buddy-cop action comedy • Year: 1986 • Running Time: ~107 This is a really interesting film and a lesser-talked-about entry in the buddy-cop genre. It’s Billy Crystal’s first true action role, which alone makes it worth a look. The chemistry carries the movie more than explosions or spectacle. It probably wouldn’t win a buddy-cop poll, but it absolutely deserves to be on the list as something different—and something fans should check out.

Ross Hardie

Yeah Rush Hour is great and Jackie is one of my favourite people in cinema. If Cassie hasn't seen The Nice Guys, then her reaction to a film set in the 70's about private detectives solving a crime in the porn industry while trying not to laugh at Ryan Gosling's character and his brilliant 13 year old daughter would be funny, I hope.

Clarence Newman

I'm hoping it loses. Cassie could then throw us a consolation bone by watching the legendary Battle Creek Brawl (1980). Not his best film, but there's a scene where Jackie jumps in the air and literally (no CGI) kicks some guy in the gut SIX TIMES before coming down again. Legend, I tell you.

Thomas Meredith

48 Hours - the original Buddy-cop movie 😄😄😄

David Collins

Rush Hour is really good, and quite fair that it's leading, but 48 Hours and Bad Boys are not getting nearly enough love.

Clarence Newman

Don't worry, Richard. City Slickers is up next.

Clarence Newman

How can one watch half a movie? What sudden misfortune befell one?

Mark White

Oh yes, Rio Bravo. Cassie you need to see Wayne in his archetypal role. You will enjoy that one.

Clarence Newman

By the way....for those who are interested.....I first saw Battle Creek Brawl at the cinema as part of a double feature. The other film......top of the bill, of course, was.......... Cannonball Run!

Dave

Not to worry, Richard - your consistent vocal opposition to Cannonball Run tells me your soul is not too far lost, there's Hope for you yet 😂

Simmeland

Thought Bad Boys was nailed on, and it is now dead last. Conspiracy, see no other explanation.

Walter

I love Running Scared! Underrated gem

Richard Maurer

Why are you trying to make me feel worse?

Richard Maurer

Well at least you got to see a Jackie Chan film.

Clarence Newman

An inexpensive and satisfying hobby it is. I sometimes high five myself.

Mojo One Thousand

Cassie has stated previously that this is mistake, it was marked watched in error. It seems to have not been updated.

Clarence Newman

Two, in fact. He's in Cannonball aswell!

Mojo One Thousand

Been reacted to and Cassie adores those movies. On the upside it sounds like those are reactions you get to catch up on.

Vak

Voted for Rush Hour, just because growing up in the 80s, the buddy cop movies that drew me were the ones with unexpected casts. Jackie Chan certainly qualifies here. It's a shame that Running Scared (1986) didn't make the short list, though. That one is sadly almost forgotten these days, but Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines make a fun pairing.

Clarence Newman

Maybe City Slickers will have her craving some more Billy.

Clarence Newman

Negative, Johanson. Gots ta be Freebie and the Bean.

Big Lazy Dragon

Technically 48 Hours isn't a Buddy Cop movie, since Eddie Murphy plays a criminal out on temporary release to help Nick Nolte find one of Eddie's past associates. And I'm surprised that you passed over Tango & Cash for the poll, as that more than fits the bill for the genre.

Clarence Newman

It's a slap in the face for Will, to be sure.

Mojo One Thousand

There is also "The Last Boy Scout" with Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans, which Black also wrote. He also directed "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang" and "The Nice Guys", and all three I consider a pseudo-buddy-detective trilogy. All from the same writer and neither buddy is a cop as per the usual formula.

Big Lazy Dragon

I wondered about that myself. I even suggested it for a Pick a Flick a few months ago.

Tim MacKay

Rush hour and Rush Hour 2!!

Art of Free Speech

??? I will never understand Rush Hour over 48 Hours. Rush Hour was a cute and mindless film, but 48 Hours had it all!

TechJJ

Rush Hour series!

Dominic Biondi

The Nice Guys is true brilliance. Rush Hour is an enjoyable bag of popcorn.

JAKH

"The Last Boy Scout" (1991) "Showdown in Little Tokyo" (1991) "Supercop" (1992)

Mojo One Thousand

"Rush Hour" is the only one of these movies I have seen once, its theatrical release. I guess that says something, and at the moment I will be re-watching it. "The Nice Guys" needs more love it is a great movie, and Cassie loved "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang". I was talking about this movie and even quoting "The Other Guys" with these same people last week, and although I love it I know it is not for everybody, but that might make it a fun reaction. I feel sorry for "Midnight Run" though, it was so close and now it seem so far away.

David Kent

Similar to 48 Hours there is Midnight Run (1988). But I voted for Rush Hour.

Clay F

To the contrary, 48 Hrs. [RT 92%] is widely considered the film that established and popularized the modern buddy cop action comedy genre. The movie features the classic "mismatched partners" dynamic, where a gruff, hard-nosed cop is forced to team up with a wisecracking convict to solve a crime. “Though predated by Richard Rush's 1974 film Freebie and the Bean, 48 Hrs. is often credited as being the first in the ‘buddy cop’ genre.” Cassie has already reacted to 10+ Stallone movies. The channel needs a break from Stallone. Plus, respectfully, Tango & Cash [RT 31%] = “Brutally violent and punishingly dull, this cookie-cutter buddy cop thriller isn't even fun enough to reach ‘so bad it's good’ status.”

Clay F

I think Midnight Run (1988) going to get a reaction anyway and thus not included in the poll.

Patrick McDevitt

48 Hours started the Genre!! Should be no contest. However, After 48 Hours I would go with The Nice Guys from this poll, but neither Nice Guy is a Cop.

Clay F

“Though predated by Richard Rush's 1974 film Freebie and the Bean, 48 Hrs. is often credited as being the first in the ‘buddy cop’ genre.”

LukeG84

Can’t believe Bad Boys is in last place. Figured people would want to see Cassie’s reaction to that one for sure.

Above Average Dave

It takes a lot for me to walk out of a movie, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.

LukeG84

Missing buddy cop movie from this poll is Showtime (2002) starring Robert De Niro and Eddie Murphy.

Mark Vaderr

Zootopia qualifies as a buddy cop movie? It's a cute movie, but boy they just bash you over the head with it's message.

LukeG84

Rush Hour will make for a good reaction movie if it remains in the lead. Cassie will enjoy it.

Above Average Dave

Gregory Hines was fantastic in the scary but not too scary WOLFEN (1981). Lost classic that probably 7 of us here have seen. Also features the always amazing Albert Finney and Edward James Olmos. This movie had me looking over my shoulder in urban areas when I knew I was alone.

Clay F

+1 for Training Day for Denzel's Oscar-winning performance. +1 for Dirty Harry (1971) (everyone should watch at least once). Skip the Dirty Harry sequels. Clint Eastwood collaborated again with Don Siegel for Escape from Alcatraz (1979) [RT 97%] (Danny Glover's first movie but he a minor character).

Mark Vaderr

Yikes! That is disturbing.

bgb1975 (Brian)

When's the pick-a-flick, Cassie? Feelin' lucky!

Clay F

48 Hrs. > The Nice Guys > The Other Guys > Rush Hour > Bad Boys.

Steve Holton

Hi Mojo! Hope you had a nice holiday and it's not too hot in your part of the world. In a response to a comment below, Cassie says she left "Midnight Run" off of this poll because she plans to schedule it soon. So, maybe it is actually getting closer😊

Mike Lemon

I tried to get The Heat watched as a troll when Heat won it's poll. I thought it would have been hilarious but it didn't happen.

Marvin Just Marvin

For as good as Bad Boys (1995) might be, Bad Boys (1983) with Sean Penn, Ally Sheedy, Esai Morales, Clancy Brown, is a forgotten classic. I voted for The Other Guys, but looking forward to seeing Rush Hour!!!

Clay F

Cole - true, but we do agree sometimes.

YodatheHobbit

Can we get another poll to pass the time till City Slickers is uploaded? Anything's good. Best utensil. Best Bond suit. Best movies with aliens. I'm not picky about the topic.

Clay F

Jon Johns (see below) said he was hoping for Midnight Run. Cassie replied: "i was going to but that’s already coming v soon ;)"

Mojo One Thousand

Thanks Steve, I hope all is well with you too! I probably missed reading that one. Now you have said something, I vaguely recall she may have said something on a live or a chat somewhere. The weather has been up and down the last little while, but apparently it's going to be 90F-100F in the next week so we'll see how that goes!

Clarence Newman

There's something Shawshanky about Escape From Alcatraz. Good film.

Bammer

My vote definitely goes to 48 Hours.

Johnny Bullis

Actually thats not accurate.. there were 3 movies before that. Stray Dogs.. In the Heat of the Night.. and Freebie and the Bean. But 48 Hours definitely brought it to another level and made Eddie Murphy who he is today.

Matt Dellarosa

Hard to believe The Other Guys isn't winning. Thats my first pick on this list.

Clay F

I am glad that City Slickers is getting a reaction for patrons who are City Slickers fans and for the rest of us who will be spared suggestions for City Slickers in the future. I watched City Slickers a long time ago and didn't finish b/c not my kind of humor. But I've been waiting to do a full watch of City Slickers this impending reaction to form my current opinion before commenting. I hope the experience is like I had recently with Twins which I had low expectations but ended up liking it.

Clay F

Yeah, next to last.

Clay F

+1 for Bad Boys (1983)

Clay F

If Rush Hour [RT 62%] wins, please skip Rush Hour 2 [RT 50%]. “Rush Hour 2 doesn't feel as fresh or funny as the first, and the stunts lack some of the intricacy normally seen in Chan's films.” I hope 48 Hrs. [RT 92%] or The Nice Guys [RT 91%] wins.

ShawnTheMoth

The Nice Guys is a legit fantastic movie and makes a great reaction movie watch

Cole Jennett

I didn’t say it was “the” criteria, but it was for me

Powers209

I agree. It is also a period piece, set in the 1970s. The Nice Guys has a little bit of everything.

Michael Lewis

Two films I would have liked to see on this poll are Running Scared with Crystal and Hines, and Stakeout with Dreyfuss and Estevez.

Richard Maurer

Clarence- High five yourself? Is that what they’re calling it now?

Richard Maurer

Clay - unfortunately, there’s still the imminent threat of City Slickers 2.

Kawaii Leonard

Don't go with Rotten Tomatoes. If you asked anyone that watched the 3 Rush about movies, which one is their favourite, I bet you the majority will pick RH2. Plus it has the incomparable Zhang Ziyi in it.

Peter Morscheck

This is a genuinely difficult poll. I like every film listed - and *love* three of them. I picked The Other Guys since I think Cassie would enjoy it the most. But The Nice Guys is a stone cold classic, as is 48 Hours.

Ace Degenerate

I totally agree that Tango and Cash would be a great poll choice

Anthony V Petty

Rush Hour is popular but Nice Guys is so underrated and I think Cassie would really enjoy it. Other Guys is a classic which should come up again.

bknsty14

100% nice guys. I booed when I saw the results of rush-hour winning.

Tyler Lathrop

So many good options but I’ve gotta go with rush hour!

Big Lazy Dragon

Something along the same lines as 'Turner & Hooch' (human cop teams up with dog) would be 'K9' starring Jim Belushi who gets teamed up with a K-9 German Shepherd with a definite attitude to get the goods on a drug kingpin.

Tyler Lathrop

Rush hour 2 is the best one Clay.

Tyler Hale

Bad Boys 2 is schlock elevated art form. It’s so much fun

Rosario

The Kiss Kiss bang bang reaction video was great, The Nice Guys will be just as good if not better.

Anton Hagelmeier

I don't generally say much but I feel I must point out that imo nice guys is head and shoulders above the rest.

To Wa

Bad Boys (1983) There can be only one.

Cliff Endicott

Not many people remember it, but for decades I've thought the best "buddy cop" movie was "Running Scared" with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines. Such a fun (and funny) movie.

Old As Dirt Bert

I'm not sure it's the best, but it's a lot of fun. It couldn't find any 2 guys less likely to be detectives, but Dan Hedeya delivers one of the best lines ever in a detective film.

Rick Williams

I know 48 hours, Rush hour and Bad Boys. 48 hours is probably the best one.

Richard Maurer

Of course I oppose Cannonball Run. I may be unpleasant, but I’m not crazy.

thebeefmaster

As for finding something that will tickle your funny bone, as you mentioned on your Pick-a-Flick stream, please take a look at this list. Please pardon any "Already have seen" on this list. (* indicates my favorites) "What's Up, Doc?" (1972)* "Noises Off... " (1992)* "Murder by Death" (1976) "Deathtrap" (1982) "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" (1994) "Ruthless People" (1986)* "The In-Laws" (1979) * "Zorro: The Gay Blade" (1981) * "The Lego Batman Movie" (2017) * "The Great Race" (1965)* "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" (1966)* "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" (1963) "Best in Show" (2000) "The Birdcage" (1996) "Police Academy" (1984) * "Duck Soup" (1933)* "A Night at the Opera" (1935)* "A Day at the Races" (1937)* "Horse Feathers" (1932)

Chris Thom

The Other Guys has some genuinely funny moments. One of Will Ferrell's best.

Larry Darrell

I am Loving all the Love for Running Scared (1986) in the comments. I’ve recommended it a few times in the past, and had no idea there were this many people that were aware of it. Too Cool!!

Clay F

I hope she requires Rush Hour 2 win a poll before reacting to it. The vote in this poll is for the first Rush Hour, not the franchise.

Clay F

Glad that 48 Hrs. will likely finish at least 3rd and thus may remain on her radar. An example buddy cop week this month would be Rush Hour, Midnight Run, GoT. She could throw in a 4th reaction slot that week and include Nice Guys. The vote in this poll is for Rush Hour (1998), not the Rush Hour franchise

Tim Weaver

Just make sure it's the Billy crystal flick and not the putrid Paul Walker movie with same name

Shawn Kildal

Cassie did a reaction to What's Up, Doc? very early on but unfortunately had something go wrong (I can't exactly remember). I think either the microphone wasn't on or the video wasn't working. Something along those lines. Either way, she's seen it and attempted to do a reaction to it that we'll never see.

Tron

I wanted Bad Boys but I guess the next best is Rush Hour so I’ll add my vote to that. Rush Hour 2 is funnier though

fastecp1

Se7en, L.A. Confidential, and To Live and Die in L.A. are also notable buddy-cop movies.

KTVindicare

She's seen LA Confidential. Se7en we need to save for October. To Live and Die in LA is a deep cut. I dont think it has the same tone as the movies up on the poll.

Clarence Newman

She loved City Slickers so Billy is now on her radar. I think this one's got as chance.

Clarence Newman

Richard. You're confusing a High Five with a Five Knuckle Shuffle.

Clarence Newman

And let me say right now - City Slickers is a delightful comedy. But PLEASE - no City Slickers 2. It is pure ka-ka.

Clarence Newman

The channel has had a few months break from Stallone and is now crying out for more. Daylight would be a good one.

Steve Smith

Don't care to watch any of these movies, thanks.

CJ Holden

I only want her to watch BAD BOYS just so that she will watch the whole series and we get a reaction to a scene in part 4, with a certain side character who gets introduced in part 2. Y'all know which one I'm talking about. But I feel like she will enjoy THE NICE GUYS a lot.

CJ Holden

Heck yeah, it's an incredible movie for all the wrong reasons. The biggest celebration of low brow entertainment that was ever put on screen and OF COURSE Michael Bay was the right man to do this. :D

Ted Whalen

Since the Olympics are taking place next month it maybe time for another Olympics poll (I know that Cassie had a poll before the last Summer Olympics). I have listed below a couple of options (I excluded the movies I know that she has already seen). 1. Cool Runnings 2. Eddie the Eagle 3. Race 4. The Boys in the Boat 5. The Cutting Edge 6. Downhill Racer- this movie includes both Gene Hackman and Robert Redford (two of Cassie’s favorite actors). 7. Unbroken- I don’t know if this is truly an Olympics story (first part of the movie is focused on the Olympics), but it is an overall amazing story (absolutely one of my favorite books).

Junior

I didn’t really like Tango & Cash, although I love both Stallone and Russell. However, quoting Rotten Tomatoes is not particularly useful here. The last Stallone movie that got a positive rating from them was First Blood.

Sarah Frost

Cassie has seen Eddie the Eagle and The Cutting Edge. There are videos on both Patreon and YouTube.

Sarah Frost

I love Rush Hour. it was my first introduction to Jackie Chan.

Keith Jones

Nice to see my unique skill of picking the movie that’s dead last continues in 2026!

Alex Laime

The Nice Guys is so good. Gosling and Crow make a great buddy pair. IMO the best on the list, though they're all good. Haven't seen The Other Guys.

Story Archer

I liked Bad Boys well enough, but I thought the second one was so much better. I'd only vote for the first if we were guaranteed the second and we're still waiting on Beverly Hills Cop II and The Jewel of the Nile, so...

Story Archer

That's why I voted for it. I don't think Cassie has seen him yet and with her affection for buddy cop movies, it's a good first timer.

Sean

A must watch. Def the best of the list.

Gray

She's seen Cool Runnings before the channel which is a shame as it would have been a fun reaction.

Astraeos

Pretty much my opinion exactly lol. Bad Boys 1 is fine enough, but for me, Bad Boys 2 is like 100x better. So yeah. Maybe one day.

Astraeos

Pretty easy for me to believe. Rush Hour is a straight classic, and it would be crime for Cassie to skip it.

OddThomas

Nice Guys is the better movie but I think Cassie will enjoy Rush Hour

Clay F

Ditto.

Clay F

Switched from 48 Hours to Nice Guys

Gray

Gonna change my PaF to a Jackie Chan movie can't decide on Rumble In The Bronx or Who Am I?, both great if ya'll haven't seen.

Joe J

Happy to get a win on this one...I very rarely do on any poll.

Mark White

Cassie has seen Se7en pre channel as well

Shaun

Eddie Murphy was fantastic in 48Hrs. His best movie in my opinion.

Kevin O'Donnell

Hoping that if Cassie enjoys Rush Hour she might want explore some more of Jackie Chan movies. Police Story, Shanghai Noon, armour of god

Thomas Bengtsson

I was thinking about Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill but they weren't cops per se...

Clay F

She has seen Shanghai Noon.
