Comments

WestBound

Let's go 'Your Name'

Joshua Campbell

Fantastic Four First Steps & Mission Impossible 8 both with Carly of course 😉.

Coleton B.

7PM Maybe, Sorta' Time! Got it! :D

Dan M

2026 is my year! I can feel it!

Adam Doyle

Glad i saw this notice now, and not tomorrow. Can't wait!

Joe J

With Cassie, it's more like Mountain Dew time...LOL

JPDotCom23

Crap, I missed submitting again

Patrick Gibbs

I still have no idea how to participate in this

Patrick Gibbs

Can you put the instructions how to participate in pick a flick on each reminder post? There’s literally no good way to find the instructions without hoping somebody will reply to a comment.

Rick Rodriguez

Finally I'm free and can watch one. Feels like ages.

The Fly

Cassie has her own time zone

Mike Lemon

Sorry, can't make it tonight. My Basset just died in my arms and I can barely even see right now. I hope whoever wins picked a good movie. And go give your puppers a big ol' butt scratch for Toby Sniffington.

Sean

Why am I being told about December Picks on January 5th?

2-Can

We will not see his likes again . . . RIP

Steve Holton

So sorry for your loss Mike. Take care and be well.

The Fly

We have to wait until the very end of December until all the submissions have been collected. It could be done January 1st but what's the rush?

Cole Jennett

Because she’s making the draw now for all the entries from December 1st-31st.

Cole Jennett

It’s very easy if you go to the FAQ

dansoddity

as someone who lost their pupper last year, I extend the warmest hug to you. It's beyond tough, but I always try and remember the unconditional love they carried and those beautiful memories that will live on through you!

Choof

If you want to watch "Inside Llewyn davis" root for me

Dan M

I know exactly what you’re going through, Mike. We lost Dusty last August. One of the most difficult things I’ve ever gone through. My condolences to you and your family.

Clay F

I would be happy if you won. I like "Inside Llewyn Davis."

Clay F

The entries are all December picks.

inspectordh

Sorry for your loss 😥

YodatheHobbit

If I keep suggesting the same movie each time it's gotta win sometime right? RrrrrIGHT????! 🙂

Clay F

My entry is Capote (2005). Might would give her a nightmare or two, but hopefully would not stick. The Oscar-winning performance by Phillip Seymour Hoffman too hard to pass up.

Michael Lynch

Am I crazy or was she going to do city Slickers last week? Did I miss something?

Joe J

So sorry Mike. 😰

Christian Becker

Uhh, nice. And we have a holiday today here in Bavaria, so I can enjoy the event live.

Arturo

Mountain Standard Time (MST), which is UTC -7 ?

Johnny Bullis

Did we miss the link to the show?

Andrew Buel

7PM MST is 8 CST, 9 EST, and 6 PST. Anybody outside of those time zones you're on your own. ;)

Chris Thom

Starts in fifteen minutes. Link sends over to YouTube.

Chris Thom

Same. Totally forgot.

Chani Elkin

That's what I'm hoping for too. I just know both sisters would love the 2005 movie "Joyeux Noel" (Daniel Bruhl). I even have a digital copy with burnt-in subs that I could supply them. It's my Christmas Tradition movie (one of them) & my favorite Christmas movie. Based on the true event of the 1914 WWI Christmas Peace. So epic (happy to provide you the link too if you're interested at all)

Joe J

Okay....my entry is Predator 2 (6.3/IMDB, 44% RT) 😉

Nim

I remember the Toby Jones one. Who played Lee?

kaiielle

Picks on the Beta website do not count. It's still through the FAQ post here on Patreon.

Chris Thom

The Assassination of Jesse James was the winner

Mike Redford

Liked the new-look PAF. DVDs flying off shelves like cabbage patch dolls in the 80s. Nice touch.

Paul Polpiboon

Cool! I hope for more future NexGen episodes myself, I know it's a re visit, but there's plenty of mileage on there! Heck, the actual real Star Trek show with Kirk has even more mileage for you! The "classic episodes". Btw hope you guys are doing well in the weather!

Chris Thom

She already finished the reaction. Just waiting to post.

Chris Thom

I haven't seen that one yet. It's about a musician?

Choof

Its a fictional story of a folk singer in early 60s new york, in the bob Dylan era

Tanner

Wow, very cool! It’s a film that I feel is under appreciated, but definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. Thought being shot in Canada and having Brad Pitt might help though, hope you enjoy!

fish_thefilmcollector

Missed the live. Just watched. I was so close this time!! Last 25!

Bill W

Great movie, great soundtrack. I'd love to see more music-themed films across the reactorverse.. The Commitments, Crossroads, True Stories, Cadillac Records, Honkytonk Man....

Matt

Great movie cant wait

Chris Thom

Haven't seen it, but I vaguely remember it getting some Oscar noms? Or maybe it was Golden Globes.

Clay F

Congrats Tanner. The PAF winner is a good movie. She mentioned we may get Andor this year. That's awesome.

Ace Degenerate

Can’t wait for Cassie to watch The Last Dragon. One of my all time favorite movies for so many reasons

Tanner

Yeah, Oscar noms for Casey Affleck/supporting actor and Roger Deakins/ cinematography. Unfortunately for them, it came out the same year as There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men.

Brent Petty

Finish the series: Sicario 2.

Chris Thom

YES, Roger Deakins that's who I was thinking of. Saw a cool compilation of his work last year and that was included. Definitely the wrong year for it to be nominated, those movies seemed to have similar vibes I think, from what I've seen.

Chris Thom

I think reactors might avoid musicals and such because they get copyrighted more often. Have heard music reactors make the least money of all on YouTube or Tik Tok.

Chris Thom

Truth is many here will want others to forget so their movie has a better shot. Just something to try to remember every month. I definitely forgot this time with the holidays.

My_Cousin_Mose

Sorry to hear that Mike! I'm sure he was a good boy.

Henry Graham

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is a dream of a movie! One of my all time favourites. Can't wait for Cassie's viewing.

Clarence Newman

Nothing like losing a fluffball, Mike. I lost my Akita 2 years ago and I still find myself gazing at her pictures and wishing she was still here. As you deal with the inevitable grief, don't forget what a great life he/she had with you. The pain fades, the memories are forever.

Clarence Newman

Notes on the Pick-a-Flick: According to Cassie's mood ring, she has been stressed 78 out of the last 100 days. Nothing to worry about there - the Red Wedding accounted for 40 of those and Pedro's exploding head swept the last 7. Without GoT, she would be full Shirley Temple. (This does not mean she should stop watching GoT.) Her Beholden list (ie films/ballpark genres she is morally and ethically obliged to watch now because she sort of mentioned/alluded to them in the live): Find a new favourite rom-com - The Money Pit (a young Tom Hanks, 1986) or, if you want something a bit more adversarial, War of the Roses (1989). Foreign movie - Asian martial arts poll! (Therefore, whatever Jackie Chan movie is on the poll.) Silent movie - You said you're watching a Chaplin, so I'm suggesting The Kid (1921). You also need to see Keaton, Laurel & Hardy and Harold Lloyd. Finish a series - Beverly Hills Cop's a decent one, and yes, there are only two of those. ONLY TWO! Alternatively, this would be a great year to finish the Cool Hand Luke series. Watch a film you're actively avoiding - A Perfect World with Costner! It's not what you think and you will LOVE it! One of your goals is to have a Popcorn Pick of the Month go over 100k - Oh Cassie, you delightful dreamer. "Why do you guys stick around? I'm such a hot mess." Cassie, if you ever get your crap together, I'm leaving. We adore the hot mess. For example, when the Pick-a-flick program went haywire while you were nowhere near the controls: "I'm not doing that. Am I doing that?" Hilarious. Finally, I need to register an official complaint. I was still in the pan when you arrested my momentum with the long and unnecessary pause. You owe me a Papillon reaction. Also, two of my other favourite movies ended up in the top 5 (Hard Day's Night and Sleeping With The Enemy). I am invoking the Eddie the Eagle rule and saying you should watch them anyway. Even more finally.....c'mahhhhhnn 500k!!!

Richard Maurer

The most stressful thing about GoT for me was Season 8 - You know why. Asian Martial Arts poll - great idea , wish I had thought of it myself. But my prediction (and vote) is for Ip Man to win.

Richard Maurer

Cassie - Since you mentioned watching more monster movies Shin Godzilla is a great one, and it does great on YouTube as well, most reactors getting between 200 to 400k views in a year, one reactor had 900k in 2 years.

Clarence Newman

You think Ip Man would beat a Jackie Chan film on a poll? In the immortal words of Tony Montana, "That sound completely crazy to me, mang."

Richard Maurer

Well yes, I do think Ip Man would beat a Jackie Chan HONG KONG made movie. If a US made ringer got into the poll then probably not. Most people who say they’re Jackie Chan fans haven’t even seen anything he made before Rush Hour. This is why I want a ASIAN martial arts poll, no US made slop to ruin the poll.

Rene G.

damn, I'm still waiting for 2001 space odyssey reaction being posted. It's been a month now

Rene G.

I recommend the Drunken Master. my first intro to Jackie as a kid back then.

Clay F

I think she also said the 2025 Fantastic Four would be this week. I thought about you when she said that.

Chris Thom

A bit off topic, but I wonder if PiB knows that Professor X and James Marsden Cyclops are going to be in the new Avengers movie?!?

John A

Would love to see you react to another Casey Affleck movie, Gone Baby Gone. Would certainly be more for us to enjoy your reaction than you enjoying the movie, but the guy that wrote the book it's based on was the only writer trusted with handling the death of one of the major characters on the show The Wire, which I guess wouldn't mean much to you or anyone else that didn't watch it but I'm just saying I think he's great. Mystic River would be another great movie based on a book of his, which has a very bizarrely low amount of reactions to it I'm now noticing

Clay F

+1 for Ip Man

Joe J

FYI, Maplenuts React just started watching Andor.

Richard Maurer

I ‘m thinking the answer is no. Cassie enjoys the Marvel movies but I don’t think she goes that far down the rabbit hole.

Richard Maurer

Clay - while I had already heard she planned on watching FF in January, I was glad to hear it would be this week - gives me something to watch on Patreon.

Richard Maurer

Cassie - be sure and watch Fantastic Four; First Steps and not one of the older, inferior versions.

Joe J

We should be able to get Bloodsport and lp Man, these have awareness with most everyone, other martial arts films I would say are mostly wishful thinking here on PIB.

Clay F

LM Reactions (3,714 paid Patreon members, 297k YT subscribers) is currently reacting to Andor, which I am watching in real time. Interesting how those two Serbian young ladies (late 20s, maybe 30) are emotionally affected by the Andor series. They view the Serbian government as the 'Empire' and themselves as part of the 'Resistance." They are completely sincere I think. I like them better than Maplenuts React.

Chris Thom

I think the trailer just came out recently. She might be interested though because she's seen a lot of Marvel movies (Endgame included) and she's seen all of the X-Men movies except for Dark Phoenix. Carly and her were talking about how they missed the last round of Avengers hype on the podcast.

Chris Thom

He wrote The Wire, too?

Clarence Newman

Joe just called Jackie Chan a punk ass nobody. I'm telling.

Byrd N. Hand

"Godfather III," "2010," and "Gremlins 2" for me... oh, yeah, and there are totally no more movies in these other series after "Terminator 3," "Matrix Revolutions," or "Red Dragon" and "Hannibal." 🤫

Byrd N. Hand

Cool Hand Luke series, eh? Nice try, Clarence. 😏 I've heard BCH4 isn't *that* bad for what it is. Friendly reminder that there are also only 3 Terminator, Matrix, and Hannibal Lecter movies. 🤐

John A

He was one of the writers, anyway. They had quite a few, but he was the one they trusted to handle the one thing the best

Taspens

Always 1989 is Steven Spielberg

Joe J

Here's a suggestion for your consideration Cassie. Maybe do a special random draw for the following films that have been heavily requested for years here in the comments. Some are included as a reward for a few persistent long-time patrons, lol. Maybe you have gathered a few more films to add to the list? Midnight Run (1989) Thelma & Louise (1991) The Towering Inferno (1974) Bullitt (1968) Cool Hand Luke (1967) King Kong (2005) A Perfect World (1993) Children of Men (2008) Under Siege (1992) Horror of Dracula (1958)

Byrd N. Hand

Sandra Bullock, Nim. It was titled "Infamous."

Jay

All the boxes on display is great. I could The Straight Story hanging in there:)

OddThomas

Jesse James is a great movie. Train Dreams has a similar vibe (and was one of my top films of the year) so I recommend that too

Richard Maurer

Clarence - yeah, they all stink. Except for Horror of Dracula. She should just watch that.

Clarence Newman

Don't be greedy. Sounds like you're getting Shin Godzilla soon. She's also starting to drop a few of Joe's polls, so the least she can do is throw me a Cool Hand Luke or two.

Richard Maurer

You said you don’t like any of these films. I was just correcting your obvious mistake.

Canadianant

Great job by Ben setting up the new "popper" It looks great and the movie wall really helps. Good pick this month too

Clarence Newman

It's a fair cop. I thought it would be rude to accuse Joseph of stealing my list of favourite films.

David

pick winner movie's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Harry Potter and the Goblin of Fire Hulk 2003 David Lean's Oliver Twist monkey man sabotage fantastic 4 rice of the silver surfer murder on the orient express the legend of sleepy hollow glee season 1 volume 1 road t sectionals troll hunter the last stand black adam the a team movie harry potter and and the chamber of secrets wicked part one wicked for good fly away home moneyball Cassie's pick

Richard Maurer

To be serious for a moment she’s probably more likely to watch the Legendary (recent US made) Godzilla films than Shin Godzilla. Not that I’d have a big problem with with her watching them but it would be a shame if she skipped Shin Godzilla as it’s both a better movie and does better on YouTube than the Legendary series.

Clarence Newman

Love the fact that the popped entries are now listed down the side as they happen. In Pick-a-Flick, it's very important for us to pinpoint time of death.

Clarence Newman

Well, she said she wants to do a monster binge (set? series? Can't remember the exact word.) But Godzilla would be a top candidate. You'll just have to overcome your shyness and do some campaigning.

Clay F

Joe, good suggestion. Midnight Run is getting a reaction, likely this month.

John A

Don't you dare tease me like that, Clay

Clarence Newman

Entirely kosher, John. In the Pick-a-flick draw video, Cassie said she'd left Midnight Run off the Buddy Cop poll because she intended to watch it in January anyway. That means you're getting it next week or the week after. It's not a buddy cop movie, of course, but I suggest we don't tell her that or she might scrub it from the schedule. Otherwise, based on what she said, it's going to be part of a buddy-cop week along with Rush Hour and Nice Guys.

John A

Hahahahaha I'm fully content letting her think it's a buddy cop movie 😂😂😂

John A

Just watched the pick a flick video, I love how much you love the Replacements 😂 Top 3 sports movie for me. I can't find you a comedy you'll like as much as that, but Hard Ball is another heartwarming Keanu movie that makes for a great reaction channel movie

Joe J

Hi-tech torture as we lose and fly away month after month...LOL.

Joe J

Midnight Run was nothing special for me, easily forgotten. I mainly appreciate complete absurdist comedies like the Austin Powers movies, Team America, etc..

Joe J

I think she's leaning more to King Kong (2005), if she picks the movie and doesn't have a poll.

Richard Maurer

She’s said in the past she wants to watch more Godzilla movies. But there’s no reason she can’t watch both.

Richard Maurer

It felt wrong when I saw my name on the side, like that’s not supposed to happen, I’m supposed to win.

Richard Maurer

Joe - Kung Fu Hustle gets quite a few reactions. Hero gets some too.

Kawaii Leonard

If it's a comedy you need, just finish the Cornetto trilogy with World's End. I believe you already seen Shaun of the dead and Hot Fuzz.

Stephen Dias

I totally missed this stream. Cool new graphics!

Vak

You're letting the meter on a few of those run longer than I would. T2, then full stop; the original Matrix, then full stop (it has no sequels, dammit); and Silence, period. Even its first sequel is wildly inferior and starting to get sidetracked. Yeah, Anthony Hopkins is clearly having a blast playing it, but he's always awesome, and there are better options in his filmography. Godfather Part III is weirdly divisive. I'm one of the few people I've met that consider it meh-but-watchable; most others either seem to love or hate it passionately. I don't like to assign motives, but a lot of those in the latter category are pretty obviously Coppola-hatin' for...reasons? Sofia Coppola gets a ton of grief over her acting in this one, despite the fact that she was brought in at the last second. And she's not going to win an Oscar for that role, but she's honestly not bad. Meanwhile, Joe Mantegna and Eli Wallach are great actors, but they're sure as hell not showing it in this one - and nobody mocks THEM for their performances in that film. (And honestly they should.) The script is rocky, though. The Vatican Bank scandal was a weird choice for a hook to hang the whole story on. It really needed the Tom Hagen character to ground Michael. I still have no idea what they were trying to do with Talia Shire's character. And the entire last half hour is missing on all cylinders. So, yeah, meh; but watchable mostly for Pacino and Keaton.

Gary Shaw II

Daylight with Sylvester Stallone for an action movie
