Interesting take on the season ending. In regards to the final season 8, it's by no means terrible, just felt like they rushed to finish. Also the final 2 seasons did not have the books to draw on for how the story was to conclude, apart from the final destination of the characters, there journey getting there was and is still unwritten!

"I am your son" has an even more literal meaning. Tywin placed all his faith in Jaimie to step up and be the inheritor of his legacy and name. But Tyrion is Tywin to an almost absurd degree and the fact that Tywin never recognised it is his tragedy. Tyrion has his intelligence, his analytic ability, his ruthlessness and his will to power. It's incredible that he does not recognise himself so completely in Tyrion even there at the end.

Having not read the books and going into the series completely blind once season 8 was done and dusted with no knowledge of the negativity, I didn't think it was bad at all. Still the second best TV series of all (my) time for me between BCS and BB.

The long weekend ended up turning into a Cassie Marathon. I watched GOT S4, episodes 7-10, Nice Guys, Rush Hour, Rounders, Nine Months & City Slickers. I am all caught up. I need more reactions Cassie.
