Ok so I started going through our unofficial official poll ideas post and was just going to pick a few, but so many sounded so fun-alas a very long poll to pick our next poll!

Multiple votes allowed-ending Thursday

Ps-The Assassination of Jesse James will be up within the hour

Comments

Brian Shannow

Lynch left us almost exactly a year ago, it's time

Coleton B.

I'd like a option on this poll for another poll to poll an additional poll

Harrison

You get a poll! You get a poll! Everyone gets a poll!

Kawaii Leonard

I know they're not gonna win, but I picked Foreign film and Anime.

Clay F

Sci-fi will always win. Instead of including sci-fi in pollception, could just simply have a sci-fi poll. Same thing.

UCOOLJULES

Lynch seems a little under-represented considering his Oscar nominations

Mark White

JOE, if you ask, you shall receive😉

Kyle K

Its too much of a commitment probably but can you imagine Cassie reacting to Twin Peaks - David Lynch 🤩

Mark Vaderr

Are we still having Extra Butter tonight?

John Callahan

Anime - many great series and features, it is time

Jeremy Anderson

I hope the movie Powder is a part of your sci fi poll

Adam Doyle

Poll for Best Movie featuring a Pole: Showgirls, Striptease, Midsommer, A Christmas Story, Born To Fly

Clay F

Glad to see Oscar Best Pics Poll is currently 2nd (but still early). Maybe she will do the 2nd place poll. War Movie poll doing strong. I would love a war movie poll.

djKENTO

David Lynch? As much as I love the man's work... I don't think this Cassie is gonna vibe with Lost Highway or Mulholland Drive...

Kuskesh Haramzadeh

We should all pick David Lynch just to blow her mind 😅😂😅😂

WestBound

Your name fits multiple polls just saying

Galatron 117

Let’s get her to watch Patch Adams!

Mark White

I would say that is very likely.

Shad Kanyak

The Straight Story might be the only Lynch film she would enjoy.

Mark Vaderr

Honestly, how many Christian Bale movies are left that Cassie has not seen to make a poll? She hasn't seen "The Bride", because it hasn't been released yet.

Coleton B.

Yes! Cassie just posted!

Dan

Bicentennial Man too!

Bill W

Well, that was over fast. Do Equilibrium so you can at least knock one off the Christian Bale list as well.

Just Plain Bob

Cassie HATES ambiguity. Can you imagine her reaction to the fever dream that is a David Lynch film, where so much is open to individual perception and interpretation? That said, I’d LOVE to see such a reaction. Lynch was an auteur in the proudest use of that term.

Michael G

Cassie v Eraserhead would be something

Robert Jewell

I chose 2. The Best Picture Oscars one in the hopes that Rebecca or How Green Was My Valley are chosen and I picked David Lynch even though I'm not sure he's your cup of tea although I absolutely love his films. And what the heck is a finance film?

james sweeney

It doesn't look good for financial movies, but the 3 big ones around the 2008 collapse Too Big to Fail, Margin Call, and The Big Short, would be a great 3 movie series for Cassie to watch.

bgb1975 (Brian)

Patch Adams would be a great one for Cassie and Carly! The Birdcage would work, too!

2-Can

So she went into the Poll Vault and came up with this list. Why not choose from - movies about Warsaw election interference - the Pole Pol Poll Poll movies about communist take-overs of a country - the Pol Pot Poll movies about cops - the Po Po Poll movies about skeet shooting - the . . . Poll! movies about mid-springtime - the May Poll

djKENTO

oh and Elephant Man...

James M

Well there's always "Eraserhead". I'm not sure I could handle the amount of whining we would hear from everyone about it :)

Mark Vaderr

Alright, we have one movie for a poll. What else?

bgb1975 (Brian)

Hmm.....The Big Short, maybe? Wall Street?

djKENTO

Or how about all the unanswered stuff that only shows up once or twice in Twin Peaks... like the skyscraper room.

Clarence Newman

Dagnabit, there's no McQueen/Newman poll. As I am less than American, and therefore technically foreign, I would like to recommend that Cool Hand Luke be slotted into the Foreign movie poll, and also the Best actress one (no one ever washed a car like Joy Harmon). You will not regret it. Alternatively, I will take a Towering Inferno reaction as a compensatory draft pick.

Robert Jewell

Oh! I forgot to pick that! Thanks for the reminder!

James M

I really liked "Powder" but I don't think it is sci-fi.

Bill W

The Immigrant

Mark White

Clarence me need to make a big case for a St George’s day poll on the 23rd of April this year. Top of the list “Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”

Gray

Empire of the Sun & Rescue Dawn. Equilibrium is a interesting watch.

Robert Jewell

I forgot to hit Foreign Films so I just added that in the hopes it includes British films as well as non-English speaking films of the more classic era. Movies like Black Narcissus (1947l or Fanny and Alexander (1982) or The 400 Blows (1959) or Nights of Cabirua (1957).

K, Zachary

You know what? I am on cloud nine right now. We just watched Scream 5 with Kat. @Katwatcheshorrormovies. She cried in this, Kat showed extreme emotional depth. https://photos.app.goo.gl/LTbLaFQTbuRTT8yf6 Now my friend is taking his new puppy back with him. Sci-fi will win because this is Sci-fi crowd. I filmed my new YT video today which is going up now. Well it take a couple of hours before it makes the rounds with our friends. We actually have tickets to go see The Bride.

Clarence Newman

Reach For The Sky (1956) is a good one. The story of Douglas Bader.

James M

I'm very curious what foreign film would win. I imagine something not very impressive (eg 3 Idiots) and not "The Seventh Seal" or "The Double Life of Veronique" or "Pather Panchali"

Stephen Last

An idea for the sci fi poll. Include a movie from as many of the other poll ideas as possible. Dune(1984) for David Lynch, Bicentennial Man for Robin Williams, Equilibrium for Christian Bale, etc.

Bill W

Equilibrium and Out of the Furnace.

Robert Jewell

Don't know them. What year and from where?

MikeLL

This is driving me nuts!!! The description is so bad!!!!!! "My leftover scratch off 100 movies Poster Poll" AAGGGHHH!!! People this is AFI's 100 YEARS...100 MOVIES poster! There are actually some great movies here! Taxi Driver, Tootsie, City Lights, Network, and more great cinema classics! I know most of you don't even consider Citizen Kane the great movie that it is, and you all want another boring sci-fi movie, another boring Robin Williams movie, or another boring Christian Bale movie. And we could be having a great cinema classic! I wish Cassie would have put up a more accurate description of what this option is! I. am. tearing. my. hair. out. Edit: Here is the link to the list of movies on the poster https://www.afi.com/afis-100-years-100-movies/ Check out the list. You still have time to change your vote. She has reacted to 43 of these movies on the channel, and that doesn't include the odd few she has seen off channel and the lost The Manchurian Candidate '62 reaction. LOTS of great movies on this list. She needs to see all of them ( and will over time. I just want one more NOW!) Apologies for the histrionics. But seeing the listing in the poll really did set me off!

Robert Jewell

I don't know. Just wondering if a poll could be made from that category. I saw Wall Street a while ago and it was kind of meh for me. The Big Short I've not seen.

Gray

yeah it the only one with just great movies

Clarence Newman

Was that a question for me, Robert? I don't see another comment, but I only mentioned one film, the year is in there already and it's a British film. I'm wondering if I'm not seeing a comment from someone else.

Bill W

Maybe take a month off.

Mark Vaderr

Alright, there are a few out there. Aside from The Fighter and Empire of the Sun, we are really delving into lesser known and not the best work of Bale. Probably not good for YouTube.

Robert Jewell

Yes. For you. I was thinking the story of Douglas Bader was a second film. Thanks.

Mark Vaderr

MikeLL, I'm all in on "Tootsie", it's amazing how that movie has gotten so few reactions, and Cassie would love it. Although, there is some very good science fiction out there for her to see. "Forbidden Planet", and the original "The Day The Earth Stood Still" & "The War of the Worlds".

Hunter DeRensis

We're starving for David Lynch (I vote for The Elephant Man, so we don't drop Cassie in the deep end too soon)

Clarence Newman

No sir. He was the pilot who lost both legs in a plane crash but still became one of Britain's most famous World War 2 pilots. It's a really good film.

Cole Jennett

My first thought was Boiler Room, so I voted for it

Mark White

I just watched “Wall Street” again last week with my wife. I’ve always liked it. But the big surprise was, my wife really liked it too! Not exactly a period drama!

Just Plain Bob

Suggestions for a sci fi poll: *Forbidden Planet (1956) *The Time Machine (1960) *Sphere (1998) *Soylent Green (1973) *Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956 - original) *Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) *Moon (2009) *Sunshine (2007) *Primer (2004) *Children of Men (2006) *Anything else not named Interstellar (aka the most boring movie of all time)

Robert Jewell

Agreed. The Elephant Man is a beautiful film.

Mark White

“Reign of fire” 2002

Clay F

If Children of Men is included in the sci-fi poll and wins, I would be very happy that sci-fi won the Pollception. Children of Men (2006) [No. 3 at PR] being included in the sci-fi poll and winning is the best possible outcome.

Robert Jewell

Oh, ok! I'd forgotten about what that poster represented. Thanks for the reminder. But chill down a tad.

Clarence Newman

"If you don't want to be counting the fingers you haven't got, or sharing a bed with the Antichrist, I suggest you get those guns. Quick! And get me an ice cream while you're at it, will ya?"

Robert Jewell

Ok, thanks. Will try to locate it.

Anthony Carlson

Of the choices I picked in this poll, I wish there was another Sports poll on here…

Jeremy Anderson

What would you consider it? Maybe Drama with a sci fi twist?

Clarence Newman

Unless.....she watches Time Machine (1960) instead.

Just Plain Bob

PS: I actually voted for a foreign film poll but I know people hate to read their movies. Too bad because there are sooooooo many great films left unexplored.

Clay F

Candidates to consider for sci-fi poll: Children of Men (2006) [No. 3 at PR] Moon (2009) [No. 85 at PR] Escape from New York (1981) [No. 40 at PR] Coherence (2013) The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) [No. 333 at PR] Idiocracy (2006)

Joe J

Can't lump in older films with modern films...only modern films will win.

Mark White

If the war movie poll comes in Second, I would like to see some older war movies on the poll as well. There are some classics out there. “Where Eagles Dare” 1967 “Dirty Dozen” 1967 “Kelly’s Hero’s” 1970 To name a few….

Paul Czaban

I'd like these in the scifi list: Children of Men (2006) Moon (2009) Edge of Tomorrow (2014) 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) Signs (2002)

Shad Kanyak

Elephant Man is a possibility because it’s based on a true story and it stars Anthony Hopkins. Based on a true story seems to be one of Cassie’s preferred genres.

Louis Chapman

Training Day, Sinners and Cop Land

Kristin

Edge of tomorrow!!

Just Plain Bob

It is ABSOLUTELY true that new films will beat out older movies, which is a shame. But I have no hope that Cassie will adopt my list as her poll; I’m just hoping that a few of the films on my list are included in the poll. That said, I also think she should do two polls and react to two sci fi films. One for movies before 1980 and one for films after that year (or something similar). There are still many great sci fi films for her to react to. Sadly, I expect the one with the most CGI (pretty, pretty lights!) to win.

Clarence Newman

Two bangers and a catherine wheel there, Mark.

Morgan A. Colbert

Childhood Morgan feels strongly about the Christian Bale poll, staring Empire of the Sun, Newsies and Swing Kids.

Clay F

+1 for Empire of the Sun

Mark White

Whoaaaaaa! There Bob! That’s a big list of awesome movies!! Everyone. Apart from the correction needed at the end. The most exciting and greatest sci-fi of all…..INTERSTELLAR!! 😉😆

Mark White

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure Cassie has seen “Signs” pre channel

Clay F

Speaking of Robin Williams, my No. 1 request for a Cassie rewatch/Carly first watch reaction is Good Will Hunting (1997).

Just Plain Bob

I have issues with Interstellar that I might get into when Cassie inevitably reacts to it. For now, I’ll say that it’s always bugged me that the movie addresses the issue of travel at or near light speeds while completely ignoring the issue of VOLUME.

2-Can

For Clarence, Cool Hand Luke IS a foreign film - so there’d be that wrinkle.

Clay F

+1 for Training Day (for Denzel's Oscar-winning performance).

fallingupdownthere

Great movie. I remember my parents taking me to see it in the theaters. I was 9 or 10 and completely uninterested in seeing it but I ended up loving it.

Clay F

Excellent list but she has seen Signs and Edge of Tomorrow.

Cole Jennett

Cassie and Carly should watch Signs again as it used to be there go to for “scariest movie they’d ever seen.” I think a rewatch would be great now that at least Cassie is more seasoned

Clarence Newman

Agreed, Clay. Cassie, I know you already watched Good Will Hunting before the channel, but it's not your fault. It's not your fault.

Mark White

I wouldn’t put “Children of men” in the poll Clay! It’s going to win easily! If I was in Cassie’s shoes, I would just say, I will watch it anyway and the winner of the sci fi poll.

Keith Brown

If you do sci-fy or war please check out classics from the 40’s and 50’s.

Mark White

A suggestion for Sci fi poll: “Flight of the Navigator” 1986 When you look at many of the sci fi suggestions, there are mostly quite serious movies. Either dark, dystopian, or both. How about injection some fun in the poll with flight of the navigator. A wonderful kids eighties movie which Cassie is sure to have a good, fun time watching.

FranciscoGios

I helped by voting with few options Plus the War Poll, I remember you said you want to watch a War movie.

T.L.A

I would pay good money to see her watch Midsummer. That would be a heck of a reaction if she made it through

Ted Whalen

Mark- those are some great options. I would add Stalag 17 to the list as well.

Ted Whalen

Anthony- 100% agree, especially with the Olympics right around the corner.

Ted Whalen

Moscow on the Hudson

Gray

Still so many good ones to watch at least looking at PaF list there are some classics on there like Zulu, Where Eagles Dare & Battle Of Britain.

MGCR

Man, if she does the Robin Williams poll, I just hope Patch Adams is nowhere to be found on the list.

Bill W

🤞

Clay F

Cool. Thanks for the reply.

Bill W

+1 for Cop Land (Training Day is great also, but there's already quite a few existing reactions to that. It can wait, IMO)

Bill W

Insomnia

Adam Doyle

How many "oh my gosh" would there be in the first 5 minutes 😁

MikeLL

Bill W., Ha Ha, good reaction to my over the top post. I need to breathe! lol

WestBound

I'm predicting a very cheesy sci-fi 70s/80s film is watched because the boomers always win here

MGCR

God, I hope not. Though thankfully most of Robin Williams worst stuff is 90s. Patch Adams, Jack, Bicentennial Man.

Bill W

I believe by far the largest segment of her Patrons are Boomers, so that would make sense whichever way they vote, collectively, would win the poll.... but if it's 80s, it will likely be Gen Xers who saw it as kids voting for it. "Cheesy" is subjective. Just because it falls in the '70s or '80s decades, doesn't inherently make something "cheesy".

Chris Thom

Whoops gotta be careful not to vote for all of them. lol

Clay F

Looks like the Robin Williams poll will be 2nd. I was pleased with how well Oscar Best Pics and War Movies did. Movies to consider for the Robin Williams poll: Insomnia (2002) Good Will Hunting (1997) [Cassie rewatch/Carly first watch] The Birdcage (1996) The Fisher King (1991) Awakenings (1990) World's Greatest Dad (2009) One Hour Photo (2002) Lee Daniels' The Butler (2013) Moscow on the Hudson (1984) The World According to Garp (1982) Hamlet (1996) Dead Again (1991) Deconstructing Harry (1997)

Chris Thom

Haven't seen that since I was five I think. Wouldn't mind watching that again.

Chris Thom

Newsies fan in the house woot woot.

JohnnyUtah

So I love options as much as the next movie watcher but where's the 80s action poll option??? There's so many you're missing from your extensive catalog!

Chris Thom

Mulholland Drive would be my vote.

Chris Thom

Educated guess on why she was crying. Have seen some reactors have extreme reactions to that. Some real anger, too.

Chris Thom

Sphere was a bit underrated. Always liked that one.

MGCR

I mean…. It’s a good indication, though. Lots of 80s stuff is REALLY cheesy.

Chris Thom

She might appreciate seeing something really different though. Nothing quite like Lynch.

Chris Thom

Animatrix would be interesting.

Tarheel72

My recommendation for war movies are A Bridge Too Far and Gettysburg. Both very historical accurate and ABTF has an all start cast. Gettysburg was filmed on the battlefield. First time that was allowed

Clay F

Robin Williams movies to avoid = Bicentennial Man, Patch Adams, Jack.

MGCR

And Popeye.

ArsTropica

Unsurprisingly, my finance movie poll suggestion is dead last.

Happy Hanukkah

:-) I guess I might have been right in not bothering to push for Margin Call (2011) on this channel.

ArsTropica

old chinese proverb: wait long enough, and you will see the bodies of your dead movie recommendations floating down the river.

Happy Hanukkah

Adding together the votes for Christian Bale and War Movie, Henry V (1989) has a good chance.

2-Can

And Meryl Streep watched it - so that’s three polls’ votes that can be combined.

Mark Duedall

Which is a shame. She mentioned in some reaction she say the Wall Street sequel but the original is so outstanding. And still hold up - basic human emotions - greed, lust, jealousy, etc.

Mark Duedall

Clay please use all the tools in your disposal to sneak in Dead Again. Oh it would be a hoot to see a reaction to that.

Mark Duedall

Next time a Wall Street fan answers your call, start with “Blue Horseshoe love Annacott Steel.”

Clay F

Movies for War Poll (currently 4th place): The Thin Red Line (1998) The Deer Hunter (1978) Empire of the Sun (1987) Three Kings (1999) The Killing Fields (1984) M*A*S*H (1970) Casualties of War (1989) The Railway Man (2013) Suite Française (2014)

JarHead0351

Love to see her react to "M*A*S*H" or 12 Strong

JarHead0351

Off hand, had she reacted to Patch Adams? That another good Robin Williams movie

Richard Maurer

Pleased to see how well Sci-fi poll is doing…….less pleased with how Anime and Foreign film polls are doing. Speaking of anime, I will once again encourage Cassie to watch Frieren - a series just starting its second season, and, while I prefer not to presume to tell Cassie what she would or wouldn’t like, I would be shocked if she didn’t love this one. Currently Cinebinge and kalliwalli are catching up on season 1 while the Normies just started season 2, so this isn’t some obscure show that wouldn’t help her channel.

JarHead0351

All great choices, which all happens to be in my library of movies

Just Plain Bob

Mark, good selection but you forgot “Heartbreak Ridge.”

Louis Chapman

I wanna see her react to it though. I've seen others.

Louis Chapman

😮😯😲.. how did I miss that!?

Louis Chapman

Yes!! I'm a huge sci-fi guy, so I'd love to see these reactions!!

Richard Maurer

If I may, Silent Running Cube The Day the Earth Stood Still (51) Village of the Damned (60) War of the Worlds (53) Them!

YodatheHobbit

Glad Sci-Fi and Robin are doing well, too bad Bale and Lynch are doing less well. I'd really enjoy an Empire of the Sun or Mulholland Drive reaction. It's funny, I always read this as Police-ption. Woop woop! That's the sound of the...

D. T. Nelson

Sci Fi is good, and it's been a while... but I chose Robin Williams simply because there is one of his films I have been wanting Cassie to watch for a couple of years - The Fisher King. One of Terry Gilliam's best (and most main-stream) movies, with Jeff Bridges & Robin Williams together (not to mention Mercedes Ruehl, Amanda Plummer, and Michael Jeter)—so good.

Happy Hanukkah

TIL that Paul Rudd looks even more shockingly young for his age than I thought.

James Lewis

As far as war movies go. The movie "American Sniper" would be an excellent choice. It's a true story based on Navy SEAL sniper, Chris Kyle. A decorated U.S. Navy SEAL sniper, renowned as the deadliest in American military history, who served four tours in Iraq, earning the nickname "The Legend" from his fellow soldiers while insurgents dubbed him "al-Shaitan" (the devil). Bradley Cooper stars as U.S. Navy SEAL sniper.

Kristin

Frieren is awesome!!

Gray

*batteries not included & Silent Running for a left field choice.

Cole Jennett

She has seen it already prior to the channel

Clarence Newman

Silent Running is a good one. And I loved Them when I was a kid.

Clarence Newman

Your point is a good one, Mark. Forget a poll for Bale and just sweep up the last two good ones. The Fighter first though.

Chris Thom

That would be a trip to film there. Must feel haunted.

Chris Thom

Hope they include Good Will Hunting on the poll if they do it.

Chris Thom

Did you send her the poster?

Chris Thom

Can't remember the last sports movie she watched. Vaguely remember her I, Tonya reaction.

keoma songs

Suggestions for a sci-fi poll should it win but with a twist: these are what I would consider 'emotional sci-fi'. How much emotions are stirred .... Your mileage may vary. Silent Running (1972) - an incredible star performance in what Space dot com called "Wall-E for Grown-Ups" Moon (2009) - great performances, set design The Jacket (2005) - suspenseful sci-fi Solaris (2002) - George Clooney in a remake of the movie that was the eastern block's response to 2001 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984) - more straightforward sequel to 2001 that is even preferred by some. I think it even has some emotion.

abraham wilson

I voted for foreign films in hopes that she might watch Yi Yi or In the Mood For Love.

Mark White

I haven’t seen Stalag 17 Ted. But I’m always open to watching movies I’ve not seen.

Mark White

Cassie would definitely enjoy Heartbreak Ridge. I think the reason why it didn’t enter my mind is, it’s clearly a military movie, I guess I don’t think of it as a war movie. But, yes, I would like to have it in the list.

Mark White

I get you on the science front Bob. From a physics point of view there are some glaring errors. However, the reason why I love it so much is for me I completely ignore the science and focus on what the movie is all about the relationship between father and daughter. Even Zimmers score, which is epic, was never written for a sci-fi. Nolan just asked pen me a score. So zimmer wrote a piece reflecting on his relationship with his son. I purely focus on the emotion. If Cassie was to watch it, I would tell her ignore science stuff, just focus on the emotion of the movie. It’s so much better when you do imo.

Mark White

Chris I have a love/hate relationship with Sphere. In that I love the first 95% of it, until the end! But I still would like to see a reaction to it.

Just Plain Bob

Mark, we’re gonna disagree on Interstellar. The father/daughter relationship did nothing for me. Matthew McConaughey is a hell of an actor and pulls off the father role effortlessly. He’s pitch perfect throughout. I can’t say the same for Jessica Chastain. I think she’s one of the most boring, wooden actors on the planet. Watching her act is like watching a cigar store Indian try to emote. As for Sphere, if Cassie ever reacts to it, I’d be very interested to hear what you disliked about the ending. I quite liked it. I thought it was also one of the most faithful adaptations of Michael Crichton’s work (The Andromeda Strain being the other - should’ve included it on my list, it’s excellent).

Shehab Dawoud

Sci-fi? Haven't we already had about 100 of them? What is even left of note...?

My_Cousin_Mose

Well it's doing terrible but I'm glad anime even got on the poll.

Just Plain Bob

Richard, embarrassed that I left off Cube, The Day the Earth Stood Still, War of the Worlds and Them! Don’t much care for Village of the Damned, though. Scary kids movies do nothing for me. And I don’t remember enough of Silent Running to have an opinion (saw it 35 years ago and remember next to nothing). I should also have included Day of the Triffids but I flat out forgot.

Richard Maurer

The “true story” in this movie is almost as fictional as the one in Bloodsport.

Mark White

“Watching her act is like watching a cigar store Indian try to emote” 😂😂😂 love it Bob! I’m here for your descriptive reporting on actors performances! Sphere, yeah, not possible without spoilers. Discussion for another day.

Mark White

Im a +1 for cube. Underrated movie.

Richard Maurer

While technically a “boomer” I identify much more with Gen X.

Richard Maurer

*Batteries Not Included is so syrupy that you’d swear it was a Spielberg 80’s kids movie - which isn’t a good thing, imo.

Richard Maurer

By the way I vote No to a Interstellar re-watch. Because while I think it’s a good film it doesn’t make for interesting reactions (except for a couple of scenes, mostly the one at the end), and also - it’s a re-watch.

Matt Dellarosa

This is a hard one Cassie. So much good stuff on here. I really do hope you do a Robin Williams poll soon even though it doesnt look like it will win here.

Matt Dellarosa

She's already seen Firefly so im not sure what else it would be. I'd love to see a reaction to A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy but that's about it for me

Matt Dellarosa

Yes to the David Lynch poll Cassie. I just hope you know what youre getting yourself into. Lol

Matt Dellarosa

Im watching it for the first time. I think season one is better. Season two kinda loses the intrigue for me about halfway through but im committed to watching the whole series.

Matt Dellarosa

Blue Velvet was somewhat normal for the most part. And he did do The Elephant Man and Wild at Heart. But i wouldn't want to see a reaction to the Elephant Man. And definately not Eraserhead, lol. I couldnt do that to Cassie.

djKENTO

Blue Velvet might be less ambiguous than his other work… but it is also much more extreme than most of his work and I just don’t know if she’d have a good time.

Matt Dellarosa

McWho? Lol, only kidding. He was a little before my time and Bullet is the only one of his ive seen. But yes to Paul Newman.

Ted Whalen

There are some great Robin Williams movie options. If you haven’t seen it yet, I have provided the link for his stand-up routine on how the game of golf was invented. https://youtu.be/14NQIq4SrmY

Matt Dellarosa

Hear that Cassie? Everybody sounding off for Equilibrium. Its a good one.

Matt Dellarosa

I think Children of Men is more Dystopian than Sci Fi. But I'd still love to see it on the channel. Great film

Matt Dellarosa

Definately Awakenings. And World's Greatest Dad is a criminally underrated movie

MikeLL

CT: Oh, no, I didn't send it to her, but I have long known about it because she has mentioned it on several lives.

Patrick Switzer

Good job Cassie and sleep 💤 well. Take care

Clarence Newman

Unfortunately, Cassie has the same opinion, Matt. She's seen Steve in The Great Escape and The Magnificent Seven, but has since developed a severe allergy to the 1960s. Bullitt, Cincinnati Kid, Papillon & Towering Inferno are all great McQueen films.

Joe J

Bloodsport is 100% fake....but 100% entertaining, lol.

Joe J

PIB will never be the channel for anime series or movies.

Richard Maurer

That would be a shame. Shutting out a whole genre is never wise, particularly one as popular as anime.

Richard Maurer

I like Bloodsport - as a movie. But kind of wish they’d delete all the lies Frank Dux told about himself. Same goes for Chris Kyle.

Joe J

Richard - I just go elsewhere for films and genres I know Cassie will just mostly avoid. There's always the monthly PAF...slim odds I know, lol.

Richard Maurer

So many good foreign films of every genre, yet so few on her channel.

John A

Good lord please stay away from anime

John A

Interstellar is the reason I picked Sci fi

Just Plain Bob

To me, the issue of mass infertility pushes it into the realm of sci fi. Soylent Green may not be sci fi, though. It’s very much dystopian future. On the other hand it’s based on a novel written by Harry Harrison, an acknowledged sci fi master. Hard to know when a dystopian future flick reaches the point of being sci fi sometimes. For example, I’d consider Escape from New York to be 100% dystopian future with no real sci fi elements. But I bet there’s plenty in the community here that would consider it sci fi.

John A

Hoping it's finally Interstellar

John A

Sphere was a great book so the movie was ruined for me by not living up to it, maybe it's better than I give it credit for. Sunshine would be great but I'm still hoping for Interstellar

Joe J

Guys...where's the love for finance films?😆 Oh well, she did watch "The Accountant", lol.

Just Plain Bob

Yeah, it makes ET look like The Thing. Hard pass on that.

Nolofinwe

True story .....post to be reminded that Jesus Christ is a true story and there are some great biblical Epix that you still need to see like " the Robe " / "Demetrious and the gladiators" the 1st intended sequel ever which "Gladiator" stole liberally from with a bonus of of the greatest unappreciated acting performances ever ...as Caligula , Jay Robinson

Just Plain Bob

Clarence, The Fighter is a great true life story. As a lifelong fan of boxing, Micky Ward’s trilogy of bouts with Arturo Gatti were absolute classics. I have a hard drive with more than 750 bouts on it, ranging from the 1940s to the early 2000s. Most of them are organized into subfolders, by fighter. One exception to this organizational paradigm is my “Gatti/Ward Trilogy” folder. I don’t even keep a separate folder for Ali/Frazier. But the Gatti/Ward fights were that good. That said, I kinda hope Cassie never reacts to it. I’m well past tired of her rhetorical question “Why does this sport exist?” There’s lots of answers to that, some of which can be quite philosophical. But the short answer is “Because free will exists and no one needs your permission.”

Richard Maurer

Joe - I already do go elsewhere for them, but the idea is to get Cassie to watch them too. This is one of those things she should make a executive decision on. Like GoT, it will bring new younger blood to her YT and Patreon. Relying too heavily on rapidly aging boomers ( myself included ) is a dead-end for the future.

Kyle K

The last few episodes of season 2 will pull you back in.

McShades

Real Steal (2011)... If they liked Rocky they will love this, a very underrated movie... There's also the Series The Expanse... Pacific Rim (2013) Oblivion (2013) Limitless (2011) In Time (2011) The 6th Day (2000) The Island (2005) Cowboys & Aliens (2011) To name a few I don't think she's seen yet...

Michael Lewis

I continue to wave the flag for Meryl Streep movies. "Out of Africa" and "Sophie's Choice" are beautiful, powerful films that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Mark White

You just know Cassie would enjoy *batteries not included.

Sundiver

Add Dark City to the Sci-Fi poll please :)

MertzRocks

Oh dearie me... Yeah it's funny >FUNNY!< but Cassie, it's Robin Williams, so F-bombs alert!

MertzRocks

Well it is in 2nd as I type...

MertzRocks

LOTS and LOTS of stuff!

Richard Maurer

Too many people here are afraid to try anything new or different - they really don’t know what they’re missing

Richard Maurer

Mark - I know lots of things that Cassie would probably enjoy - but that doesn’t mean I want to see all of them on the channel.

My_Cousin_Mose

Haha well that would definitely include me. I know its a flaw. For example I still havent tried Naruto lol.

Mike Lemon

Any particular reason why?

Mike Lemon

Well over 100 if you count each "watch slot". Trek and Star Wars nearly get there on their own.

Richard Maurer

Naruto / Naruto Shippuden are my favorite anime series, I even enjoy many of the filler episodes. But for the more casual fans I recommend skipping the fillers, they break up the main storyline too much. There are websites that will tell you which ones are the essential episodes. This also reduces the episode count by a considerable amount.

Mike Lemon

She's already seen it.

Clay F

+1 for the David Lynch poll (currently 9th place).

Clay F

She said she would do 2nd place.

Clay F

+1 for Moon (2009)

Clay F

I am very happy that Nolan Batman trilogy rewatch is a 2026 PiB Watch goal. Movies for Christian Bale poll: Empire of the Sun (1987) The Fighter (2010) Hostiles (2018) The Big Short (2015) Rescue Dawn (2007) The New World (2005)

Clay F

Cassie said will do 2nd place ("We shall do runner up as well~!") = likely Robin Williams poll (currently 2nd place). Good Will Hunting (1997) [Cassie rewatch/Carly first watch] -- I hope is included in and wins the Robin Williams poll.

Clay F

Please include in the sci-fi poll: Children of Men (2006) [No. 3 at PR] Moon (2009) [No. 85 at PR] Escape from New York (1981) [No. 40 at PR]

Chitown Livingston

Sci Fi... the original... The Thing from Another World!

Andrew Heller

If sci fi wins can i suggest: Pacific rim Upgrade Daybreakers Escape from NY Looper Edge of Tommorow

RandyCC

Please include "classic" 1950's sci-fi such as the original The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951), The War of the Worlds (1953) (I think that you reacted to the newer 2005 Spielberg version but not the original), The Time Machine (1960), Earth vs the Flying Saucers (1956), Westworld (1973), Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970) +1 for Moon, 2010, Silent Running How about Logan's Run (1976) For some humorous sci-fi: Mars Attacks (1996), Sleeper (1973) Maybe two sci-fi polls, one for older classic movies and another for more recent sci-fi?

Clay F

+1 for Escape from NY She has seen Looper and Edge of Tomorrow, both excellent.

Shehab Dawoud

Bunch of mid movies that aren’t as good as the ones we could’ve got from the other categories.

Andrew Heller

Has she ever seen birdcage for robin williams?

Clay F

No, she hasn't seen The Birdcage. That would be a good one.

Andrew Heller

Equilibrium would be sci fi AND Christian bale!

Christian Becker

Let's throw "Forbidden Planet" into the sci-fi-mix.

David Patterson

I add my vote to "Forbidden Planet". I also suggest "The Last Starfighter", "Logan's Run", "*batteries not included", "Fantastic Voyage", "2010: The Year We Made Contact", "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" and "Abbott and Costello Go to Mars." For Robin Williams: "Awakenings" and "Popeye".

Mike Lemon

I've been trying to get her to watch Jesus of Nazareth (1977) for Easter for a while now.

Gray

Yeah off channel, which is a shame as EOT would have been a great watch. Easily my favourite Cruise film.

Richard Maurer

+1 for Pacific Rim and Escape From New York

Richard Maurer

With what? Chris Kyle’s story is like Swiss cheese it’s so full of holes.

fastecp1

War - The Deer Hunter. Oscar - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Gone With the Wind.

Cole Jennett

I’d love a reaction to Pacific Rim

Clay F

I was hoping for Christian Bale Poll but unlikely (5th place). I’ve wanted Empire of the Sun (1987) for a while. Also would like The Fighter (2010). Other Bale movies of interest = Hostiles (2018), Rescue Dawn (2007), The New World (2005). But even w/o Christian Bale Poll, we get Nolan Batman trilogy rewatch (2026 PiB Watch goal). That’s 3 awesome Christian Bale movies.

YodatheHobbit

I hope Sunshine (my go to Pick a Flick request) is on the sci fi poll.

Erik Locquiao

Regardless of the Christian Bale poll winning or not, HOSTILES needs a reaction, it's incredible and one of his best in my opinion.

keoma songs

If there is a Robin Williams poll, I will vote for Awakenings

Richard Maurer

I ‘m guessing that if Cassie gets to half of her watch goals this year it would be more than even she would expect. Personally I’d rather she watch something new than do re-watches.

Richard Maurer

I don’t think those are what Cassie means when she says war movie, but good luck anyway.

Clarence Newman

I was obsessed with boxing in the early 80s, Bob. I taped every fight that came on the tv and bought every cassette I could find on boxing history. There weren't many, but enough to give me an overview of boxing history. I then came across this guy who sold fights that he'd taped off American tv during the 70s (he'd tape from his master copy onto a blank VHS cassette). Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Duran, a lot of early Hagler. I couldn't get enough of it. All those fights are on rewriteable CDs in my loft because they no longer play on my CD player. Someday I might get them converted but it won't be cheap. I always forgive Cassie her statements like that. The reason she is the reactor I chose is because she's nothing like me, so her reactions are constantly interesting to me. I don't see the point in watching someone who is exactly like me and thinks the way I do about things. It would bore me to tears. Cassie's statement of "Why does this sport exist?" comes from one place, and that's purely her desire to not see anybody get hurt. It didn't stop her enjoying Rocky and it wouldn't stop her enjoying The Fighter. Not only is it a great sports movie, it's the film that finally made me a Christian Bale fan. Raging Bull, on the other hand...... As great as it is, I don't think she'd like that one.

Clarence Newman

...which suggests there are still enough good ones for a poll, because I was thinking The Fighter.

John A

Same reason as the rest of society and why every single one of you weebs is an outcast freak

Just Plain Bob

I understand and even agree with what you said about enjoying Cassie’s reactions, in part, because she views the world differently than you (and I). The only reason the “why does this sport exist” question irritates me is that its underlying premise seems to be that the state should abolish it. I don’t wanna get into politics but I’ve always felt that, so long as you’re not hurting others, what you choose to do is your business and your business alone. I have an admittedly knee jerk reaction to anything that presupposes another’s authority to tell anyone what they can and cannot do (unless their actions are harming others). PS: Agree about Raging Bull. Great movie but I’d be surprised if she enjoyed it. To me, she doesn’t have to like a movie for me to enjoy her reaction. But I have a feeling she wouldn’t engage with it, which can hurt a reaction immeasurably. And Lamotta’s treatment of his wife wouldn’t go over well at all. PPS: I first became a boxing fan because of Muhammad Ali. I was a small boy when he lost to Spinks and I bawled like a baby when I saw it. Then came Sugar Ray Leonard and I had a new hero. At that point, my love for those two fighters became a love of the sport. I’d watch every bout I could find on tv. Around this time, ESPN began carrying weekly bouts. Then, USA Network followed suit. Between those two networks and ABC carrying a couple of fights a month, my dance card was full - a glorious 20 or so hours a month of boxing. Then my father got one of those black boxes that descrambled PPV signals. So I’d go over once a month and watch fights and eat Prince’s Hot Chicken with him. This whole time, I was recording every fight I found remotely interesting. My shelves filled with VHS tapes. A couple of years ago, I bought a VHS to DVD conversion rig and switched everything over. Then I saved the DVDs to MP4 files. Since then, I look daily at several YouTube boxing channels, always on the lookout for fights I don’t have or upgrades to those I do (Top Rank Boxing being the best). I quit watching new bouts about a decade ago. Modern boxers don’t seem as well conditioned and their work rate is much lower. By the fifth round, they all look like participants in those old tough man competitions, flailing all over the place without grace or any evidence of skill.

Joe J

Cassie would have been in her late teens and early 20s when the Nolan Batman films came out. I can't believe she wouldn't remember quite a lot from the films.

Joe J

So I wonder how Cassie will construct the Sci-fi poll(s). I hope older films (pre-70s or pre-80s) are given a separate poll.

Joe J

No Update post this week?

Clarence Newman

Mark! I apologise if we've hijacked your Christian Bale post to discuss boxing. We used to use the FAQ thread for this kind of thing but alas, it's gone now. We mean no disrespect. JP Bob: Agreed on the patronising abolitionists, but I think we can lay that squarely at the feet of the medical community, who have often proved how out of touch they are with the harsh realities of life most young men who become boxers have to deal with. Cassie's motives are knee-jerk and based on the fact that she's a sweet little jelly mould. I was a fraction later than you in getting the boxing bug. I vaguely remember my Mum coming in one morning and telling us Ali had lost to Spinks, but the first heavyweight fight I remember watching was Ali-Holmes in 1980. After that, I became a Holmes fan, then Sugar Ray Leonard, Ray Mancini, Hector Camacho etc, and finally Marvin Hagler, who, to this day, is my all-time favourite boxer. For me, boxing contracted its fatal illness in the late 80s when the WBO turned up with no other reason for being than to give Thomas Hearns a 5th world title before Sugar Ray. It was all downhill after that. Great sport, though, and I envy you your still watchable collection.

Richard Maurer

They’ve got no chance otherwise. I’m not sure they care though. I mean, how many comments have been made in the past 5 years about the fact that older films almost never beat newer films in polls? And how many separate polls have been made for just older films? The answer to those two questions is a whole lot, and very few.

Clay F

She said she doesn't remember the trilogy. The movies were on in the house and she was distracted. I think a high probability she does the Nolan Batman rewatch. It's the one rewatch she put on the 2026 PiB Watch goals. She wants to do it, and many patrons would welcome it. Would get good views. Good for the channel. IMDb 8.2, RT 85%, RT Audience 94% – Batman Begins (2005) IMDb 9.0, RT 94%, RT Audience 94% – The Dark Knight (2008) IMDb 8.4, RT 87%, RT Audience 90% – The Dark Knight Rises (2012) For comparison: IMDb 3.8, RT 11%, RT Audience 16% – Batman & Robin (1997)

Just Plain Bob

Mark’s the best. I’m sure he took our hijacking in his stride. That said, I also apologize for hijacking the thread. Miss the old FAQ thread. PS: A little more hijacking. I’m also a fan of each of the fighters you mentioned and have separate folders for each in my collection (including career sets for each of the Four Kings - what a ridiculous over abundance of talent that was and how lucky our generation was to watch it contemporaneously). Except for Camacho. Can’t stand him. I’m a huge fan of Julio Cesar Chavez and watching his systematic dismantling of Camacho is one of my great joys in life.

Joe J

To quote Bill Paxton, "Game over man, game over". The other issue is how does she source the films? PR Requests?, Comments?, Outside Top 20 ranking lists? Why do I have the feeling that some iconic "must have" films will not make the polls. I was going to post a list of recommended films from the 50s thru the 80s.....but I just don't have the energy, lol.

Richard Maurer

To be fair (since I’m against the re-watch) while doing the LotR re-watch with Carly, Cassie forgot quite few things about it and she had just watched LotR a few years before. That being said I generally don’t like rewatches, especially to films that have been done to death by every other reactor. The lack of variety amongst reaction channels is very likely one of the factors why reaction videos don’t do as well as they used to.

Allen W. McDonnell

In the Fantasy real, we just had the 25th anniversary of Lord of the Rings. I think you should do the Hobbit movies with your sister like you did the LOTR trilogy so we can get a fresh take.

Richard Maurer

Yeah, it’s not like anime is extremely popular now and some people are still living in the 80’s /s

Oisin Clissmann

As my favourite actor, I would love to see more reactions to his movies. I was the one who suggested the poll so I'm happy and surprised to see it on here, even though I knew it would never win. Would love to see: -Hostiles -The Machinist -The Fighter -Batman trilogy with Carly -Empire of the Sun -Equilibrium (not as good movie but has cool concepts and themes)

Oisin Clissmann

I for one am subscribed to only one reaction channel and while that may not be the norm (?), I'm sure many are in the same boat and would love to have "their" reactor react to these again. As a huge Bale fan, and a Batman fan, I really hope she rewatches these and I think they would do great on the channel, #1 and #2 are very good movies in and of themselves, and #3, although much maligned and a bit disappointing, is still a good movie IMO. According to her list, she has already seen The Big Short but I would love reactions to: The Fighter, The Machinist, Hostiles and Empire of the sun.

Oisin Clissmann

How about: -Tears of the Sun -The Longest Day -The Thin Red Line -All Quiet on the Western Front (Netflix, in German not the dubbed version) -Downfall -Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of our Fathers

Oisin Clissmann

I've been dying to rewatch Children of Men for a long time but I've been holding off in the hope that Cassie would watch it. I know it's a few people's pick-a-flick every month so fingers crossed. +1 for Moon also. Equilibrium could also count as sci-fi.

Clay F

It's a single poll. She hasn't indicated would be two sci-fi polls. I think the safe assumption is the default of a single sc-fi poll. I would much rather have the single sci-fi poll (no time constraint) plus the 3rd place war poll than two sci-fi polls. For the single sci-fi poll (no constraints on time frame), I am fine with letting the voting patrons decide the winner. I like that polls don't have time constraints. I like modern movies better than old movies -- give the majority of voting patrons what they want. Older standout movies with name recognition can have a chance. Also, she does occasionally have classics polls. She doesn't ignore the minority of voting patrons who want old movies. I wouldn't be bothered w/pre-1970 sci-fi poll (even though I so crave the 3rd place war movie poll) because you have desire such for a long time.

Clay F

My most desired: -Empire of the Sun -Batman trilogy rewatch (we getting this as a 2026 PiB watch goal) -The Fighter Honorable mention: -Hostiles -The Machinist

Justin Frey

For some under the radar Robin Williams gems, I submit: Death To Smoochy and House Of D

Clay F

Thanks Oisin for clarifying that she has seen The Big Short. I edited my original post to remove The Big Short.

Clay F

I really like Best Actress Poll (draw a random year and all the movies where best actress were nominated). Too bad performed poorly in the Pollception. Yet, I am encouraged that Oscar Best Pics Poll and War Movie Poll performed well = a good sign. I also like “My leftover scratch off 100 movies Poster Poll”. In the Pollception, I voted these 6: War Movie Poll Oscar Best Pics Poll Christian Bale Poll Best Actress Poll My leftover scratch off 100 movies Poster Poll David Lynch Poll

Clay F

She has mentioned Children of Men several times. Crossing my fingers.

Peter Morscheck

Still seeking a "road trip" film poll that would give Thelma and Louise a chance...

Clay F

Thelma & Louise is my PAF occasionally.

Clarence Newman

Early Camacho mainly, before he became a showboating dick. Chavez was a legend but I never saw much of him. For some reason, he was rarely shown on British tv.

Mike Lemon

Hasn't Thelma and Louise lost two polls? Or was it just one?

Clarence Newman

Thelma & Louise has pulled a couple of hammys in past polls, but is still eligible for polling via the wild card route.

Clarence Newman

I also must reiterate my protest at the continued shunning of the 1960s as a general decade. Some of the greatest movies of all-time were made in the 60s and they are treated like lepers with smelly feet. I mean, c'maaaahn...... The Time Machine (1960) - Sci-fi Spartacus (1960) - Epic sword and sandals The Hustler (1961) - Paul Newman as a pool shark. The sequel was Tom Cruise's first film after Top Gun. A Shot In The Dark (1964) - The first true Clouseau Pink Panther movie The Sons of Katie Elder (1965) - One of John Wayne's most enjoyable westerns The Great Race (1965) - Epic comedy road race Fantastic Voyage (1966) - Another good one for the sci-fi poll Batman (1966) - The funnest Batman ever Bonnie & Clyde (1967) - Good one for the True Stories poll COOL HAND LUKE (1967) - I'm a patient man, but Cassie is very close to spending a night in the box. The Graduate (1967) - A 21 year old Dustin Hoffman gets Milf'd. Bullitt (1968) - The coolest actor ever (Steve McQueen) in his coolest role. Midnight Cowboy (1969) - Hoffman at his most syphillitic. "I'm walkin here! I'm walkin here!"

Richard Maurer

I wouldn’t mind a lot of those either. But if they’re in a poll with modern movies they lose anyway.

LukeG84

Cassie, you might as well get started on the Sci-Fi Poll now. This poll is a foregone conclusion already. I’d like to recommend DUNE: PART TWO for the poll please. 🙏🏻 It’s been 4 years since you watched part one, so it’s long overdue a reaction. Would be perfect for the PIB Theatre too! 🍿

Richard Maurer

I really can’t imagine just watching one reaction channel. Not enough variety for me.

Clarence Newman

Can't have any modern movies on the poll. It's a 60s poll.

Scott O

If you dona War Movie poll. Please put Warfare on there. Most realistic war movie since Saving Private Ryan.

Just Plain Bob

She watched it already. No reaction unless it’s a rewatch.

Just Plain Bob

I see several posts lauding the idea of Cassie rewatching the Christian Bale Batman movies and suggesting other movies to be rewatched. I’d like to present the other side of the rewatch debate. Rewatches suck.

Mike Lemon

No polls. Just watch a movie. There are far too many polls picking "vanilla ice cream".

Andrew Heller

Same here, i think im subscribed to like 6 or 7… but tops are PIB, Eomreacts and maplenuts

Andrew Heller

Pacific rim i think she would enjoy

Story Archer

My #1 film for Cassie & Carli is 'August Rush' - kind of a backdoor Robin Williams film but I hope it makes the poll at least... it's been my monthly submission since she started it, got all the way to #3 one time. AAAAARRRGGGHHHH!

Story Archer

Rewatches definitely suck - except when Cassie rewatched the LotR trilogy for Carli's first time. It'd never happen but I'd love to see her do the same for Firefly, which she loved so much.

Chris Thom

Does Invasion of the Bodysnatchers count as Scifi or horror?

Chris Thom

Never heard of House of D.

Justin Frey

David Duchovny directed, he’s also in it with Anton Yelchin and Tea Leoni

Christian Becker

Agreed, she should watch pretty much all of them.

Richard Maurer

The exception to the ‘rewatches suck’ rule for Cassie (besides LotR) would be: Pan’s Labyrinth, which she’s apparently seen, I have my doubts. I’m wondering if this isn’t another one of those movies she thinks she saw but actually mistook it for another film.

Richard Maurer

Chris - both. Sort of like Alien or The Fly, it’s a horror film in a sci-fi setting. Or a sci-fi film of a horrific nature. Whichever you want it to be.

Chris Thom

I do feel like this channel could use more Nicole Kidman, Meryl, Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson, and Glenn Close. They're pretty great, and it's been a while.

Richard Maurer

Other than PiB my favorites vary, but Cinebinge and Katwatcheshorrormovies are fairly consistently at the top of my list.

Just Plain Bob

Re: Pan’s Labyrinth. I believe that to be the case. Either that or a high school/college boyfriend dragged her to it and she spent the entire run time in the lobby chanting “We wish you a Merry Christmas” to herself.

Clay F

I like August Rush but Cassie has seen it.

Clay F

The Christian Bale Batman trilogy is the sole rewatch she put on her 2026 PiB watch goals. She wants to do it. I think it's going to happen. An executive decision.

Just Plain Bob

Of course Cassie gets to decide. I don’t remember saying otherwise. And I get to have an opinion about it. Which is that rewatches suck. Also, if you read my original post, I mention that others are making suggestions about other movies to be rewatched. Please feel free to find their posts and remind them that Cassie has not expressed interest in other rewatches. An executive decision.

Clay F

I am very much looking forward to Andor this year. THE EXPANSE I recommend the critically-acclaimed popular sci-fi series "The Expanse" (2015-2022) (62 episodes) (6 seasons) [RT=95%, IMDb=8.5]. I think you would like. Takes place on spaceships and on Earth, and on Mars and other locations in space. THE EXPANSE is a great drama sci-fi series (based on a book). A newer sci-fi series. A reaction would attract subscribers. Drama. Romance. Investigative. Fascinating concepts. Exploration. I think better than Firefly.

Just Plain Bob

Battlestar Galactica has the same RT score and a slightly higher IMDB score. It also maintains higher interest among fans (with 50% more Google searches) and had more viewers on the SyFy network than The Expanse did during its network run. The better business decision would appear to be to react to BSG. Plus, it’s better - I enjoyed The Expanse but never felt the desire to rewatch it. I’m currently on my 7th or 8th rewatch of the entire BSG series with kaliwali’s full reactions (she has some really insightful thoughts on each episode).

Clay F

Two good choices. I like The Expanse better than BSG, and think Cassie would too. Less dated. Both excellent character-driven series. BSG is an iconic series and I would welcome a reaction. The Expanse more popular in modern, contemporary streaming circles. I see that kaliwali averaged about 9k views w/BSG. The better business decision would appear to be to react to The Expanse. The Expanse didn't bust out until S4 when moved to Prime (popularity S1-S3 increased). The Expanse popular + developed a massive following on Prime Video. The Expanse higher budget than BSG. BSG made for cable in the mid-2000s, often using "shaky cam" and practical lighting to mask budget limitations. In addition to great story/characters, The Expanse designed for higher-end, modern streaming/prime-time audience with high-budget VFX, incl. extensive zero-G scenes and realistic space combat. Nicknamed "The Expense" due to production costs. Better for views from typical YT viewers. But for me, the heart of The Expanse is universe building, stories, characters. Plenty for Cassie to become absorbed + invested. Again, I would welcome a reaction to BSG. I am flexible. Watching Cassie reacting to any iconic series would be great.

Clarence Newman

To kidnap and reclarify the clarifications above - rewatches of movies that have already appeared on the channel suck. I mean, why? Why waste slots on that when there are so many new films we want Cassie to see? However! Rewatches of movies Cassie has already seen before (or, often, was in the room when it was on in the background) but have not been reacted to on the channel....those are a good idea. Good Will Hunting, Unstoppable, Warrior, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest etc, would all get decent views, and we wouldn't be sitting here thinking "We've already had this one."

Clarence Newman

The 1960s are the Bill Belichick of PIB.

Clay F

Bob, you’re feedback is welcomed. The anti-rewatch sentiment is vocal but I think there are more ok w/occasional rewatch of iconic movies. My point was merely this moot b/c she decided to do Nolan Batman rewatch and will happen. Occasional rewatch reactions have occurred and will continue to occur on the channel. She wants to do a Moneyball rewatch. I hope she does a rewatch of Good Will Hunting (Carly has not seen).

Mike Lemon

A bad coach that only won with a star player? Without Brady, his record is 84-103.

Story Archer

She has? I'm curious, how do we know that? It would have been an amazing film for her to react to, family, the bond between a mother and her son, the power of love and destiny overcoming all... I hate that we won't get that. Man, they REALLY need to update her list of seen and not seen movies. There are even films that she's reacted to that aren't up there.

Story Archer

If she ever gets to Anime, or animation, two things have to be at the top of the list for her - the beautiful film 'Your Name' and the truly unbelievable 'Arcane' series on Netflix.

Clarence Newman

I know some people think that, Mike, but here's my (admittedly British) opinion on it. This is gonna be a long one, so get yourself a beer: As Defensive Coordinator, Bill Belichick was instrumental in the Giants' 1986 and 1990 Super Bowl wins, so he'd already earned two rings before he became a head coach. As head coach of the Browns, he was turning that snakebit franchise into real contenders again when the owners betrayed him and the city by announcing the move to Baltimore in the middle of a promising season. He became head coach of the Jets only to quit after 1 day, which, let's face it, is next level insight into the future. It was Belichick who first saw potential in an obscure 6th round draft pick and coached him up to be Drew Bledsoe's backup. Luck then played a part when Bledsoe got injured and Tom Brady stepped in. I agree that if Bledsoe doesn't get injured, Brady never sees the field in New England. It was Belichick who then resisted the HUGE clamour for Bledsoe to regain his starting position once he'd recovered, because he saw something even more special in Brady, then did it again, at the biggest possible moment, when Brady got injured in the AFC championship game and Bledsoe stepped back in. That decision, and the guts he had to stand behind it, laid the foundation for the Patriots 20 year, 6 Super Bowl winning dynasty. Had he bowed to all that clamour and slotted Bledsoe back in, who knows where Brady would be? He *might* have gone to a contender with another great coach and won those 7 Super Bowls anyway. More likely, he would've gone to a struggling franchise like the Browns or the Lions, where he would've spent his entire career running for his life because he had no O-Line to protect him - his legacy being zero Super Bowl rings and a general feeling that he could've been a good quarterback if only he'd been more mobile so he could scramble out of danger more. Meanwhile, Belichick could still have won 3 Super Bowls with Bledsoe, because Drew was certainly good enough. 3 Super Bowls in 4 years? That's worthy of the Hall of Fame on its own. It was Belichick who took a chance on toxic "has-beens" like Randy Moss and Rodney Harrison and made them stars again. It was Belichick who moved on from the great Wes Welker because he thought Julian Edelman could be better, Belichick who saw the colossal potential in that big lunk of a tight end who was injured more often than he wasn't in college, Belichick who made the Patriots defense what it came to be, Belichick who didn't call a timeout at the end of Super Bowl 49 when everyone was saying "He needs to call a timeout here!" and Belichick who took a team that was mediocre at best before he arrived to 9 Super Bowls in 18 years, winning a record-breaking 6 of them. If we're going to place all the credit for that at Tom Brady's feet, then we have to ask....who is Bill Walsh without Joe Montana? Chuck Noll without Terry Bradshaw? Jimmy Johnson without Troy Aikman? Andy Reid without Patrick Mahomes? Reid never won a Super Bowl before Mahomes, but I bet you he'll be first ballot Hall of Fame because of the three he's won since. So Bill had the greatest quarterback in the history of the game on his team. So did a lot of the greatest head coaches of all-time. One more thought. If folks are going to cite "cheating" as a reason for not putting him in (Spygate, Deflategate mainly), then it raises the question of whether John Madden and Al Davis should be in the Hall of Fame. In the Raiders locker room during Madden's time, there were two signs - "Raider Rule Number One - Cheating Is Encouraged". "Raider Rule Number Two - See Rule Number One". As great as Madden is, and as iconic and good for the game as he was (both as a coach and a broadcaster), he and Al Davis did not think twice about bending the rules to gain an advantage. I've never believed Deflategate myself (why would Tom Brady, or any other quarterback for that matter, want a doctored football when they are so used to using a regular one?) and Spygate, while a little sneaky, was A) not illegal till the league stepped up and said so, and B) done by a lot of coaches before. Bill and the Patriots got caught because they were Bill and the Patriots, and they never did it again. I realise Bill rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, a lot of it due to sheer jealousy (not suggesting that's your motivation, but it's clearly true around the league), but his job was to win and he did so more than any other coach has ever done. What else did he need to do to become a first ballot Hall of Famer?

"Your Name" has been mentioned so many times. It must be good.

If you guys don’t mind I’m just going to add my 2 pence worth on the whole Rewatch debate. Personally I don’t mind a rewatch as long as they are occasional and I feel so far Cassie has got that right. When you look at who is wanting the Nolan Batman trilogy as a rewatch, these are people who really like it and there is nothing wrong with wanting a movie you really like, we all do it. I can’t imagine many people asking for a rewatch of a movie they don’t like, no matter how many YT views it gets! Personally for me if Carly had not seen most of the Infinity Saga I would be screaming from the roof tops for it! We all want our favourites and that I believe would bring in BIG numbers! There also a dip in YT views in general compared to a few years ago. I think to keep those numbers up as an average, some big box office movies will need to be revisited at some point from time to time. This also helps bring a few new patrons in as well. As I would assume the more YT numbers you get, the higher the likely hood of some of those becoming a Patreon. I assume Cassie needs good Patreon uptake as well as YT views to carry on. It’s a tricky balance we all want what we want, but Cassie needs a successful business to carry on. The longer she carries on with PiB, the better chances we have of getting some more favourites of ours from time to time. If it helps Cassie and that means say 3-4 rewatches a year. So be it. Even if that’s means some movies I don’t like.imo

Just Plain Bob

Mark, allow me a point by point rebuttal. Rewatches suck.

Clarence Newman

I have to disagree with Clay. I believe it sets a dangerous precedent to welcome JP Bob's feedback.

Mark White

😂love it Bob😂 That’s clear and to the point! 😂

Mark White

I think I just come on here for the banter! 😂

Just Plain Bob

I don’t know how you make the leap from kaliwali averaging 9k viewers per episode to “it would be a better business decision” to watch The Expanse. You’re comparing apples to…nothing. The only way to know would be if she reacted to both each week. Perhaps her views would dip to 6k with The Expanse. She has less than approximately 1/6 of Cassie’s subscriptions and her subscribers may have different taste than Cassie’s. As for Cassie herself, BSG is much more character driven. By the halfway point of the first season, if not sooner, she’d be saying that Adama is her captain, Roslin is her President and she sure hopes Apollo and Starbuck get together. But it’s all a moot point. I just watched kaliwali’s full length reaction to the first episode of the third season and she opened by saying the studio was cracking down on reactions to the show, hitting her with copyright strikes, so she’s only doing Patreon full length reactions for the last two seasons. It’s too bad some studios don’t realize that reaction channels can spur new interest in existing franchises, but it wouldn’t appear to be worth it to invest four seasons in a show Cassie can’t monetize on YouTube.

Joe J

I don't see her ever doing much Anime. Next TV show will be Andor and mostly likely Picard after that.

Just Plain Bob

Clarence, now you sound like the preacher at my ex-wife’s second wedding when he asked anyone that objected to “speak now or forever hold your peace.” Who knew they’d get so upset and how was I supposed to know that my invite didn’t just get lost in the mail?

Clarence Newman

It could certainly use some Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis.

Clarence Newman

See, now you're just lying. There's no way you got two women to marry you.

Clarence Newman

....which is not what your post says and I therefore missed the point entirely. My bad. In the immortal words of Jack Nicholson, "Don't I feel like the f-ing asshole." 😆

Vak

Both of you are making solid points. I would say that Expanse is more polarizing, in that viewers tend to very much prefer either the start, or the later seasons - it's seldom balanced. I'm in the (likely smaller) first group, as I thought Season One was tightly plotted with excellent character development, and benefited from the almost equal time balance between Holden and his crew, and Miller. As Holden's slowly becoming a true and respected leader - on a small scale at first, sure, but that changes - Miller is slowly becoming obsessed with the subject of his disappearance investigation, rather than the investigation itself - he's losing focus even as Holden gains it. It's a great balance. But the later seasons become far more politically detailed in my humble opinion, with more of a focus on plot points than character development, just because so many big-picture stories begin to intersect. And unlike Galactica, it doesn't have a clear ending - it just sort of stops with a lot of story left, as the show ended too early. In contrast, Galactica always has an undercurrent of politics, but they're almost all personally driven. The actual political stances are almost props for the characters to face off against each other in organic ways. I'm staying general on this post to avoid spoilers, but when one major character chooses and maintains positions on truly ethical grounds, it's enough of a novelty to everybody else that he periodically offends and alienates two of the major figures in his life. (Possibly all three depending on how you take a few scenes.) More characters show real change, as well. And just from a "what kind of show would Cassie like faster" viewpoint, I'd say that Galactica wins that one easily. I admit that I'm curious whether Cassie will immediately develop a crush on Lee, or on Helo - I figure it will be one of those two, although a girl-crush on Kara IS a dark-horse possibility. We need to start a betting pool on which...

Joe J

I agree with Mark, we should expect 3-4 re-watches a year. Re-watches of popular/iconic movies boast YT views, and Cassie feels she needs that. Most films (any genre, any era) just won't get higher YT views anymore. Carly did say in some reaction she had re-watched the Nolan Batman films a year or so ago, so I guess the channel re-watch will be solo Cassie.

Clay F

Clarence, I like how you did that. 100%

Clay F

Listed as “seen” at popcorn requests. I have nostalgia for that movie.

Joe J

Maybe a re-watch for the channel....oh wait, I forget it wouldn't get any views on YT, lol.

Richard Maurer

Arcane isn’t anime. Anime = Japanese produced animated series and films. Arcane is made by a French company.

Just Plain Bob

Vak, I wish I’d said what you said. Well done. And I also thought the first season of The Expanse was its best, but the entire series was very well done.

Story Archer

Right, that's why I said 'if she gets into Anime, or animation'... Your Name is anime, while Arcane is revolutionary animation by Fortiche.

Richard Maurer

Joe - are you sure you don’t mean that you don’t want her to do anime? The fact that it’s a poll choice proves she’s open to it. She just needs a younger (or more open minded) demographic for it to happen. Which, if she continues doing this into the future, will also happen.

Richard Maurer

Bob - you’re right about not comparing kaliwali to PiB. kaliwali’s views are generally in 10 to 30k range, Cassie’s considerably higher. I like Clay but he has a bad habit of cherry-picking stats to try and make his point, and make his preferences seem more viable.

Richard Maurer

Clarence- thanks for saying it so I didn’t have to.

Richard Maurer

Mark to give a little more detailed rebuttal than Bob gave. The problem with revisiting super popular movies is that while they can bring people in they can also drive people away. There are already so many reactions to the Nolan Batman movies, seeing a rewatch of them seems boring to me. And considering the dwindling reaction views on YouTube, I’m likely not only one. And the Nolan Batman films are a trilogy which makes it even worse - that’s three lost slots for new content. Even with LotR, which I still enjoy reactions to, the moment I see or hear the word rewatch I click off.

Clay F

The only reason I mentioned kaliwali is b/c Bob did. I agree with Bob there is no way to tell which would get more views without a direct actual comparison. My guess is The Expanse would get more views because "more popular in modern, contemporary streaming circles" = The Expanse is the most popular sci-fi series of the last 10 years. During its run on Prime Video, The Expanse was consistently listed as a top 10 most-watched TV show in the US. But BSG is a heavy hitter. I watched The Expanse on the SyFy channel (the early years) when it did not get as much attention. After moving to Prime, the series blew up in recognition and acclaim. I remember thinking to myself that I watched The Expanse before everyone was talking about it. The success continues. Three years after its series finale in 2022, The Expanse continues gaining new viewers and remaining popular in 2025/2026. The Expanse is less dated than BSG, and just as character-driven as BSG. The Expanse is a deeply character-driven, nuanced sci-fi series centered on flawed, realistic individuals navigating complex geopolitical tensions. The narrative thrives on personal growth and relationships, featuring distinct, multi-layered characters whose personal motivations drive much of the plot.

Clarence Newman

I have liked my own post, because I am apparently the only friend poor Bill has got.

Mike Lemon

Your Name is currently 1 on the new request board, by a lot.

Mike Lemon

Half of all households watch anime according to Netflix, her *not* watching it is just stupid.

Mark White

Ok Richard, I think what I’m asking then is, all be it badly I’m sure! Are some people saying “I like rewatches” but inside they are really saying “yes”to a rewatch, as long as it’s just something they really like? Or/and are some people saying like Bob, A flat NO to rewatches even if it was something he really liked? So Richard did you not want LotR with Carly? So is there anyone who really likes the Nolan Batmans, but don’t want a rewatch? So are people against a rewatch of the Nolan batmans because they just wouldn’t want them anyway? But if it was a trilogy they loved they would then be ok with rewatches? Ok my head now hurts and I think I’m getting nose bleed! 🤪😆 Basically, I’m ok with rewatches as long as it helps Cassie get more clicks/paterons/money to carry on as long as possible. If you are saying without bias on any particular movies, that it wouldn’t help or might even hinder Cassie! Then I’m against that! Sorry if that makes no sense!

Joe J

Richard - my statement was based on channel history. She's done less than 10 animated films in 5 years. On the poll Anime fell in the middle, so that indicates some interest amongst patrons. I've enjoyed some animated shows like Clone Wars and Bad Batch, and some movies mostly from the 80s and 90s.

Clarence Newman

It's a cage we're going to rattle to the bitter end, Clay!

Clarence Newman

It doesn't make sense, Mark, but since their respective accidents, Richard and Bob understand such things very well. The upshot of all of this is clear - Richard thinks rewatches are fine, but only if there are hobbits involved. Bob thinks rewatches are fine as long as World's Fastest Indian gets a reaction and someone then suggests a rewatch. I myself think they're fine as long as the rewatch comes off my "Heinously Watched Pre-Channel" list. The Nolan Batmans can suck it.

Chris Thom

The channel Badd Medicine just did Your Name. Don't think the YT reaction has been edited yet though.

Chris Thom

Don't think she should do them all the time. But nice to have in her back pocket when she needs them for views.

Just Plain Bob

The irony is that I actually like the Christian Bale Batman movies quite a bit. I have all three movies on UHD Blu Ray and I purchased the streaming versions. I’ve probably watched all three movies no less than a half dozen times each and will undoubtedly watch them at least that many more times in the future (despite the unbelievably gaping plot holes in Dark Knight Rises). But there’s a very good reason I don’t want to see Cassie react to the trilogy. Rewatches suck.

Richard Maurer

Clarence - I’ll answer for myself, if that’s okay with you /s

Richard Maurer

Mark - LotR is an exception, but only for Cassie / Carly and a very few other exceptional reactors. And I made an exception for Gremlins, because it was the only thing in that poll I had any interest in and the fact that Cassie “watched” it as a kid and really didn’t remember it ( I’ve seen other reactors say they didn’t remember a film only for it to become clear they were lying, something I don’t believe Cassie would do). I would make a “exception” for Pan’s Labyrinth, because even though it’s on the list of films she’s seen I think that might be another case of mistaken identity - a film she thinks she’s seen but is mistaking it for another film. But also, because it’s Pan’s Labyrinth.

HonkyPete

You're off your gourd mate, The Expanse is so much better. They tried to stick to reality based physics as much as possible which makes it so unique. Not to mention how good the writing is.

Just Plain Bob

Ok, I’m gonna go a little deeper than “rewatches suck” (though I promised myself I wouldn’t, because they do). Before I start, please nobody go thru this post and attempt a point by point rebuttal. I’ve thought about this a lot and you’re not changing my mind. This is my perspective. If you see it differently, that’s fine. First, every time Cassie does a rewatch that’s another new film (to her) that she’ll never react to. To those of us that had no interest in a GoT reaction, 1/3 of the reactions we might have enjoyed automatically evaporated for the better part of a year. Supporters of Cassie’s decision were disingenuous (at best) about this. “Oh well, it’s not like I enjoy everything she chooses to react to.” No shit, Sherlock. That’s the case for all of us. The price of subscriptions didn’t go down with the decision, meaning I’m paying the same price for 2/3 of the previous product. The fact that there are other reactions I won’t care for does absolutely nothing to address the up front loss of 1/3 of the reactions for the year. Those that say otherwise are either knowingly misrepresenting their case or simply don’t understand how math works. Second, it seems to be everyone’s favorite past time to say “Rewatches should be infrequent on the channel” and then offer up their own suggestion, or even several suggestions, about films that should be rewatched. In this very thread, we’ve had the usual litany of “Rewatches should be infrequent, now here’s three films Cassie should rewatch.” As someone with zero interest in rewatches, this is a horrifying proposition: what if Cassie actually listens to some of these suggestions? Everyone wants to make an exception for the film(s) they like, all the while offering reassurances that they don’t want to see rewatches take over the channel. Third, even if Cassie has forgotten much of a film, it’s only natural that forgotten events will pop into her head as the movie goes forward. We’ve all had that happen. At that point, as her patrons, we are truly seeing a rewatch, not a fresh take, and everything a rewatch implies. Which brings me to my final point. Finally, and I suspect Richard won’t like this one, there’s an automatic performative aspect to rewatches. LoTR was an example of this. Several times it seemed to me that Cassie feigned surprise at events she clearly knew were coming. I’m NOT accusing her of dishonesty. To some extent, we all subtly alter our public behavior to comport with what’s expected. If a shocking/surprising scene unfolds on screen, it’s natural for the observed viewer to react with shock/surprise, even if they were expecting it. This is true of other emotions as well. When I first saw LoTR, tears streamed down my face when Sam picked up Frodo and hauled his lazy ass up Mount Doom. But, no matter how well done it was, my subsequent reactions to that scene have been more muted. If I felt that a paying audience was expecting such a reaction, though, it would be only human nature to feign a greater response. No matter how honest a person is, there’s a falsity to such a reaction. PS: About Pan’s Labyrinth. I share Richard’s suspicion that Cassie only thinks she watched it. It’s a foreign film, with “monsters” (although the true monsters are human) and waaaaay outside her pre-channel comfort zone. Obviously, an exception would be made for rewatches that were actually first watches. In the interest of full disclosure, it may be my favorite film of all time (it’s in a rotation of about a half dozen films vying for the number 1 place in my heart).

Just Plain Bob

You think Cassie or her patrons care about “reality based physics”? They’re clamoring for her to watch Andor, for God’s sake. And a sizable portion are still upset she watched 2001. I love Arthur C. Clarke and other hard sci-fi, but the vast majority of viewers couldn’t care less. That’s why wizards lifting and throwing objects using telekinesis and sword fighting with lasers and watching entire planets get blown up in a single shot not only doesn’t bother them, it’s part of the appeal. I like both hard sci-fi and space magic sci fi. But it’s not going to be a deciding factor for many. As for the assertion that BSG is some decrepit old series, that’s nonsense. It’s literally only a decade older than The Expanse. Jurassic Park is 35 years old and reactions to it still do well (comparatively). And BSG still gets 50% more engagement from the online community in terms of online inquiries - the only real metric to gauge interest that we have to go by.

Mike Lemon

@Mark - "Or/and are some people saying like Bob, A flat NO to rewatches even if it was something he really liked?" Yes. I have a feeling I would make Bob look like Clay with my take. @Bob - Well said. "1/3 of the reactions we might have enjoyed automatically evaporated" 14 watches last year (actually 13 + 1/2 +1/2)... I had 14 watches last year, so many chances pissed away with long-ass series and franchises. So far there is 1 this year (and I might watch Jesse James this weekend) but the rest of the year is looking terr... oops almost typed it... the rest of the year is looking ******** with Cassie's "wish list" having three long-ass series, a trilogy rewatch, and finishing bad sequels for some reason.

Just Plain Bob

Mike, I just did a quick dash thru the comments to Cassie’s post and rewatches recommended by patrons, all while reiterating they don’t want more than a few rewatches a year at most. Suggested rewatches in response to this single post include (including the Dark Knight trilogy which is coming whether we want it or not): Batman Begins The Dark Knight Dark Knight Rises Good Will Hunting One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest Warrior Unstoppable Moneyball Shawshank Redemption What’s Up Doc My quick perusal turned up TEN suggested/inevitable rewatches - in response to a single post. I’ve seen many, many more rewatches suggested in other threads. People CLAIM they don’t want more than three or so rewatches a year. Then they recommend rewatches even though Cassie’s already divulged THREE rewatches intended for this year. I’d respect their opinions more if they said what they really think: I only want Cassie to react to stuff I like and if that means rewatches instead of new movies, screw the rest of the patrons. I’d actually respect that. It’s honest. Instead, they feign concern for the channel. “Cassie should do rewatches. They’ll help grow the channel.” Bulls**t.

Richard Maurer

Bob - I’ve no problem with your opinion on the rewatch of LotR - I just don’t agree with it. Cassie is clearly a very emotional person, I can imagine her crying just as hard the 100th time she watched LotR, let alone twice. Hell, I’m not a cryer by any stretch of the imagination, I’ve seen the extended editions alone close to 40 times and I can still shed a tear watching a Boromir’s death compilation video.

Mike Lemon

Two things- 1- I highly disagree that Brady is the greatest. He came up in the "easy passes, no hitting the QB" rules. I don't think he would be anywhere near as good under the previous rules. 2- "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying." Joe Montana (and Richard Petty). But you can't get caught.

Mike Lemon

"they really think: "I only want Cassie to react to stuff I like and if that means rewatches instead of new movies, screw the rest of the patrons." Add long series and franchises to that too. I have a feeling if she said she was going to watch Bofuri or all 26(?) Zatoichi movies, they would all be bitching about it.

Just Plain Bob

100%. They’d be the first to complain and the loudest about it.

Just Plain Bob

A quick proviso to my remark about patrons that feign concern for the growth of the channel when what they really care about is getting reactions to movies they like. I explicitly exclude Mark and Clarence from this observation. I truly believe they would rather see a reaction to a movie they care less about than one they love, if they believed it would be good financially for the channel. Except for CR. Nothing explains that except profound mental illness. There. I said something nice about two blokes (see, I can talk good English too) that I disagree with (damned ending preposition). Now I’m gonna go throw up.🤮

Mike Lemon

Not enough extra 'u's for English. You need to sprinkle some extras in there, I don't think it matters where, just throwu soume iun somewheure.

Clay F

The Expanse generally has higher, more consistent search volume in the 2020s, largely driven by its continued popularity on streaming platforms, though BSG remains a highly searched, iconic classic. BSG may be the best sci-fi series of all time in a historical sense. Ron D Moore is a genius. The 10 years makes a difference = more dated – especially when considering YT viewers, for example, in the 16-29 range. The Expanse better production and comes across fresh and new. The Expanse is often referred to as the "best sci-fi since Battlestar Galactica," indicating it has taken over the mantle in modern discourse. While BSG had high mainstream popularity during its original run, The Expanse dominates recent sci-fi search traffic due to its modern production and streaming availability (for free on Amazon if subscribed). Discussions in 2023-2025 highlight The Expanse, keeping its search volume active, while BSG searches are often driven by nostalgic, "best of all time" comparisons or news of potential revivals.

Richard Maurer

Everyone here has an agenda - some are just better at convincing others, or themselves, that they don’t.

Clarence Newman

You can’t blame Tommy for the rules. I watched him play for 15 years and NOT ONCE did he ever complain to the referee about being hit.

Clarence Newman

I will gladly accept Bob’s compliment because one rarely sees a flying pig with three heads. He is, as usual, wrong about CR though. I want Cassie to watch it because it is one of my faves and ALSO a guaranteed million view hit. To suggest otherwise is just hater talk. As for Richard not being a cryer, just wait till Cannonball Run gets a reaction.

Clarence Newman

And Mike. You’re talking about ‘aluminiuminum’, aren’t you? One of the rare times you Americans improved one of our words.

Just Plain Bob

The most recent numbers I could find were for 2023. Google hits for The Expanse: 14 million for the year Google hits for BSG: 20 million for the year “While Battlestar Galactica historically held higher, more mainstream recognition (20 million searches in 2023), The Expanse has shown high, consistent, and active, passionate engagement…” BSG is still generating more interest with almost 50% more online engagement. Not only historically but according to most recent trends. Moreover, “Based on recent convention trends and legacy, Battlestar Galactica (BSG) generally has higher and more dedicated convention attendance for dedicated, cast-reunion events compared to The Expanse.” Bottom line: BSG is more popular among both general audiences and among convention going fans of sci-fi. Wishing it were otherwise doesn’t make it so.

Richard Maurer

Clarence - if Cannonball Run gets a reaction I will be a vomiter, not a cryer.

Mark White

So to sum up: Bob: thinks Rewatches suck. Full stop… Story: thinks rewatches suck unless it’s LotR or Firefly and then gave up on the conversation about 2 days ago! Richard: thinks rewatches suck, unless it’s LotR or Pans Labyrinth Clay: likes rewatches if it’s Batman Nolan trilogy or Good Will hunting. Clarence: thinks rewatches of movies that have already been on the channel suck, but not rewatches from before the channel, because Cassie was a kid or as an Adolescence and her mind was on boys! But either way she can’t remember most of the movie. Mark: I think I try to make sense of it all and then my limited brain capacity gets nose bleed! Joe: agrees with me. Which means he has a limited brain capacity or we both do or he just thinks I do! Mike: just thinks everything sucks on the channel for 2026 and we Brits can’t use the English language correctly! (By the way Mike its Pavement! Not Sidewalk! You shouldn’t need directions to not walk in the middle of the street!) 😉😆 Think that should clear it up 😂 Oh, sorry Chris nearly forgot! Chris: is just cool with anything.

Clay F

Based on what I’ve read, The Expanse appears to have been streamed more than BSG in the 2020s. Both had high viewership in 2020s. I would love for Cassie to react to BSG (not available legally to stream for free, i.e., with a subscription, on a major streaming service). To watch her full reactions to BSG, instead of paying $2.99 per episode to stream BSG, I would buy the BSG 4 seasons to stream (e.g., $155 on Prime Video, $70 on Apple TV, currently on sale for $30 [regular $232] at Fandango at Home). I don’t buy physical media, and suspect many patrons don’t. To watch her full reactions to The Expanse, I would stream The Expanse for free on Prime Video (I am a subscriber and my platform of choice).

Chris Thom

I'm mostly satisfied, but not quite cool with GOT. It's too many episodes and feels like it will never end. Hoping she won't jump into another long series or franchise.

Chris Thom

Has Geena Davis appeared on the channel yet? I know Susan was in Stepmom vid this fall.

Mark White

I stand corrected Chris. 👍 Maybe I just think of you as Cool, especially with that Avatar.

In view of "audience demand, streaming activity, and media coverage in the 2020s, The Expanse was likely watched more ... than Battlestar Galactica (BSG) during this period. The Expanse finished its six-season run on Amazon Prime in 2022, ensuring high viewership and sustained relevance through the first half of the decade…. The Expanse was actively airing new seasons on Amazon Prime (Seasons 5 and 6) during 2020–2022, creating a high, sustained demand [and] became a benchmark for modern, ‘hard’ sci-fi in the 2020s [and] frequently cited ... as the best space opera since Battlestar Galactica, drawing in fans of the latter.” BSG "experienced a resurgence in 2020 [as] a ‘quarantine watch’ … BSG suffered from shifting streaming homes (Peacock, then Amazon Prime in 2024), which can disrupt consistent viewing figures compared to a stable, prime-time Amazon original.… While revered, it is often viewed as a finished, older ‘classic’ rather than a currently active, buzzing series. However, it still maintains popularity as a cult classic.” “While Battlestar Galactica remains a foundational, highly regarded show that saw a 2020 resurgence, The Expanse was likely more widely and continuously watched in the 2020s due to its active production run, high-profile move to Amazon Prime, and its status as the premier contemporary space opera of that specific time period.”

Clay F

“Based on streaming trends … and audience activity in the early 2020s, The Expanse likely generated higher, more consistent engagement as a current streaming hit compared to the legacy rewatch numbers of Battlestar Galactica. The Expanse benefited from its move to Amazon Prime Video (seasons 4-6) in the 2020s, making it a ‘new’ and active show, while Battlestar Galactica experienced a notable ‘2020 rewatch’ surge on Peacock…. The Expanse released new seasons on Amazon Prime in December 2019 (S4), December 2020 (S5), and December 2021 (S6), keeping it in the top-of-mind space for sci-fi fans during the first half of the decade…. You know who's really Cool, and would be really Cool for the channel? Luke!

Clarence Newman

The Fly was her first, I think. And strictly speaking, Cassie needs to watch Earth Girls Are Easy at some point, because it won a YT poll.

Clarence Newman

I would try other reactors, but I'm worried that if I leave, they won't let me back in.

Considering "popularity, critical reception, and streaming trends in the 2020s, The Expanse was likely watched more during the 2020s than the 2004 Battlestar Galactica (BSG) reboot, primarily because it was a current, high-profile Amazon Prime Video series with new seasons launching during this period. However, both shows are considered premier, critically acclaimed, and ... have seen, or continue to see, high viewership in the 2020s. The Expanse (2015–2022) [as] an active series on Amazon Prime Video during the early 2020s (seasons 4-6), gained significant traction, at one point being described as 38x more popular than the average show in 2020. It was frequently praised as the best ‘hard sci-fi’ of the era, attracting new viewers to its 6-season run. Battlestar Galactica (2004–2009) [while] it ended in 2009, BSG experienced a surge in re-watch popularity and discovery by new audiences in [2020], particularly on ... Peacock. ...Reddit users in the 2020s frequently discussed how The Expanse ‘dethroned’ or matched the quality of BSG, making it the more likely candidate for most watched during [the 2020s]. While Battlestar Galactica remains a foundational classic of the genre, The Expanse was the more active and popular contemporary, making it the likely leader in 2020s viewership.”

Mark - minor correction. I think rewatches suck. Unless it’s LotR or Pan’s Labyrinth - AND THE REACTOR IS EXCEPTIONAL. If it’s some newbie reactor telling me it’s a rewatch then I’m gone. Hell, there’s probably other films I’d extend that exception too, but we’re talking about Cassie, and she definitely hasn’t seen those films outside of the channel.

Joe J

At this point, I'm mostly just here for the banter, lol. Of the movies Cassie reacted to in 2025, only around 1/3 or so were films I like (some are favorites of mine). 2/3's of the films were just not my cup of tea. Other reactors are taking up more of my watch time these days.

Just Plain Bob

Everyone has an opinion on rewatches and they all seem to have expressed an opinion here. It’s a lot for anyone to try to read, so let me offer a summation. Rewatches suck.

Richard Maurer

Not if I’m the gatekeeper: “ Clarence? Clarence who? Newman? Newman, Newman, Newman……sorry, don’t see you on the list. Goodbye”.

Mike Lemon

@Mark- "You shouldn’t need directions to not walk in the middle of the street!" I agree, they *shouldn't*, but a surprising number still do, especially the cross-fit weirdos and people dressed all in black in the middle of the night.

Mark White

“Cross-fit weirdos” 😂 you crack me up Mike 😂 love it!

Clarence Newman

That'll teach you for posing an interesting topic, Bob. Two more comments and you hit the 50 mark!

Richard Maurer

I’ve never seen The Expanse so I don’t really have an opinion on it. I’ve seen BSG, and I liked it, but for some reason whenever I try to watch a reaction to it I get bored and quit, usually around the beginning of the third season. So personally I’d be fine with neither of them getting watched.

Richard Maurer

Clarence was off - as usual. Now it’s 50.

Richard Maurer

I added a vote for a war poll early on hoping it would help get it past the Robin Williams poll but no such luck.

Clarence Newman

Negative! Yours is 51, mine is 52, therefore the one where I said he was 2 away from 50 was number 48.

Clarence Newman

In the immortal words of Sidney Dean, "It is hard GODdamn work making you look this bad!"

Just Plain Bob

You two play nice or I’ll turn this thread around and go home. No presents for anyone!

Andrew Heller

Cinepals is another top one, katwatches horrors is great cause her personality is so bubbly…like media knights too but they do too many rewatches, colby is fun too…like i said i watch alotta them lol

Richard Maurer

Clarence - you know your English version of Patreon is a mess - it clearly showed 49 posts here on American Patreon until I added mine, then it showed 50. But then you had to add another one. To quote the great philosopher Sméagol “It ruins it!”.

Richard Maurer

Now it shows 54. This makes it 55 posts. No more English nonsense.

LukeG84

What? Why would she watch it without us? 😭

LukeG84

Richard’s correct, according to IMDb. I’ve never seen it.

Javier Hernandez

Meryl! If only to put "Sophie's Choice" and "Out of Africa on your radar".

Javier Hernandez

How about a musician biopic poll? Assuming you've seen the recent Elton John, Queen, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen flicks. The Buddy Holly Story (Buddy Holly) La Bamba (Richie Valens) Love and Mercy (Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys) Get On Up (James Brown) Sweet Dreams (Patsy Cline) Coal Miner's Daughter (Loretta Lynn) The Dirt (Motly Crue) What's Love Got To Do With It (Tina Turner) I Saw The Light (Hank Williams Jr) Nowhere Boy (John Lennon) Jersey Boys (The Four Seasons) Better Man (Robbie Williams) Straight Outta Compton (NWA) The Doors

Instead of a reaction to BSG, you may want to try the Ronald D. Moore episode commentaries. When the DVDs first came out, podcasts were a new thing, so new that Moore identifies what he's doing as one, instead of the older traditional director/actor commentaries, and admits that he's not even sure exactly what the term means. (Nobody was at that point.) And he's talking about where ideas for the episode came from (plots inspired by the old 1970s series, a response to "military > politicians," again from the old 1970s series, the War on Terror, current or historical events, classic sci-fi ideas, philosophy, whatever), but also basic ideas like what they were trying to express with props and design on a budget. He's prone to rambling, as he admits to having a drink in hand (which is often audible) as well as a pack of smokes. Particularly if you can find the ones from Season One, where nobody knew if the thing was going to get renewed at all so he was kind of leaving a note for posterity, they're a good audio track for watching a familiar episode.

"Good Morning Vietnam" covers both the Robin Williams and the war movie categories. I have a favorite finance movie but it never wins the finance polls: "Margin Call". The performances are wonderful and it feels very realistic unlike every other finance movie I've seen: "Wall Street", "The Wolf of Wall Street", "Money Monster" etc.

James M

I'm not interested in the rewatches either. I saw the mention that rewatching LotR was okay (why I have no clue). I'd say the worst possible rewatches are like LotR: multiple movies and long movies. In other words the fewest possible minutes of rewatch is the aim with zero being the ideal.

James M

1960s was a great movie decade. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World Dr. Strangelove How the West Was Won A Man for All Seasons In the Heat of the Night West Side Story Zulu Father Goose Barefoot in the Park and many more

James M

"Earth Girls Are Easy" ought never to be watched by anyone. The results of YouTube polls are dismal.

Lori Smith

Out of Africa is one of my absolute favorites.
