Because nothing says the start of the month of LOVE AND ROMANCE like SCARFACE!! Ha!

If you didn't catch our first collab-Kat and I watched Weapons together on my channel and now we watched Scarface for hers! Although yes, the full length reaction is on both of our patreons-the YT edit will be on her channel only so make sure to go check it out when it comes out later this week!

This week we also have Good Will Hunting. I have seen this once (don't remember very much but remember it being good) and Carly has not seen it. I was going to put this as an option for the Robin Williams Poll coming up, but I thought it might win easily, so we are going to watch this and then ALSO have a Robin Williams Poll next week!

Speaking of Polls-We had two pretty close Scifi Poll! Pre 1980 Scifi and Post 1980 Scifi-It looks like the winners were Logan's Run (by only a few) and Escape from New York!

Also January submissions for Pick-a-Flick have closed! We will have the drawing on Thursday 2/5 at 7pm MST-cant even wait! You can now submit your picks for February though here!

We are going to go for it and do a YT LIVE in February! Saturday, February 21st at 3pm MST!

Is everyone excited about the olympics? I have such warm and fuzzy memories of watching the olympics growing up-Its so incredible to see the athletes who have worked their lives for these moments and their stories. My popcorn pick of the month this month will be Mystery Alaska for some hockey inspiration!

Also I wanted to let you know we have moved the Poppies date a week earlier-so now tentatively March 14th!

Thanks for being you and being here!

Cassie is turning Gangsta on us lol "Scarface" is one of those classic movies thats needs to be watched. The great story about the rise and fall of an ambitious gangster Tony Montana. But the world knows him by another name. .. SCARFACE!

Joshua Campbell

I recommend Clint Eastwood again in The Rookie (Charlie Sheen). Another Badass movie of him to enjoy 😉.

Above Average Dave

"First you get the movies! Then you get the popcorn! Then you upload the reaction edit to YouTube and get the Fans!" (only slightly paraphrased from the original 🤣)

shaneth138

Looking forward to revisiting Good Will Hunting. I’m assuming we’re probably not getting Paul any time soon? Also, patiently waiting for you to get around to The Peanut Butter Falcon since you said you were really wanting to see that a year or two ago ☺️ 🙃

Bill Maurer

GoT "Hardhome" episode. One of the best ... Massive Jon Snow Aura coming.

Above Average Dave

Or THE ROOKIE the sports movie with Dennis Quaid. Which Cassie and Carly would LOVE!

Darren

Is be very curious to know the age demographics breakdown of the audience here and on YouTube for the channel.

Thomas Cooney

I watched your full length scarface reaction with Kat last night - you two have great counterbalancing energy lol it's a lot of fun. I would say definitely do more collabs with her, and also, maybe use it as an excuse to explore some of the movies you've avoided since you'll have a fellow cinephile lol -- on a completely different note... CARLY HAS NEVER SEEN GOOD WILL HUNTING?!?! Hope you had the Kleenex ready lol stay awesome! #Pib

AceofSpades501

Scarface followed by some therapy? Makes sense to me.

Collar City Guy

Cassie, hoping to ensure you would see this, I copy and pasted this from the comments of the pre-1980 Sci fi poll, I was wondering since the vote was so close, is there any chance you will watch both the first and second place entries? The Day the Earth Stood Still is just a classic movie that helped elevate sci-fi from B movie status to more of a mainstream genre, and I'd watch Logan's Run just to see the beauty of Holly 13/Farrah Fawcett

Budsfan67

Tell Kat that you can not hear her facial expression for this one.

Blake Evans

Scarface and GWH!! I was just extolling the virtues of GWH to one of my friends that had never seen it. She promptly apologized to me and her younger self for waiting so long. The “park bench” scene is one of the greatest ever written. Going to be a good week.

Fanny Adams

Oh please Cassie watch The Day The Earth Stood Still

David Bockly

I echo the above sentiment!!

Dan M

Good call on watching Good Will Hunting with Carly and keeping it out of a Robin Williams poll. Hands down it would have won that poll…I don’t think it would have even been close. At least now, with the other movies that will be on the poll, it will be more of a fair race. Looking forward to it.

Milton Reduxed

How do I say I hate Good Will Hunting without sounding overly-negative 🤔

Christian Becker

Wow, this will be a fun week. I can even attend the PAF this week. Now that my holidays are over, and since I’m usually asleep at 03:00 ;-) that will sadly be an exception. As it is now possible for you to rewatch a movie, I’d like to ask you to consider a rewatch of V for Vendetta somewhere down the line. I was very surprised to find out that you watched that movie off-channel. ;-)

Joe J

How would anyone know, right? Patreon and Youtube don't require age be entered to set up accounts.

Joe J

Ditto.

LukeG84

Looking forward to Good Will Hunting. 🍿

David Freese

Never thought there would be a day that Cassie would watch Scarface

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

"We are going to go for it and do a YT LIVE in February! Saturday, February 21st at 3pm MST!" Right, I'd better get my skates on and post that parcel off, I live in the UK!

Mark Vaderr

"Scarface" & "Good Will Hunting". A couple of curveballs from Cassie to start the month of love. Looking forward to the Robin Williams poll. Cassie, please watch "The Day the Earth Stood Still'! It was only 4 votes short, and after you see "Logan's Run", you will have to watch a good sci-fi movie.

Joe J

Cassie, as Mr. Spock would say, there are two very logical reasons to watch both 2nd place films in the Sci-fi polls. 1. Watching "The Day the Earth Stood Still" will just make more patrons happy. 🙂 2. You get to watch you're boy Tom in "Oblivion", lol. Carly could join you for this one. A win-win I would say.

Mike Lemon

Just ask yourself, "what would Mike Lemon say?", then go with the opposite. :-) (edit- not that I like the movie, I *really* can't stand most of it)

Walter

I watched that Scarface reaction. I still don’t think it’s a great movie, but it is an incredibly great performance. And an even better reaction! Thank you!

Just Plain Bob

So, since the people who want rewatches also CLAIM to only want them infrequently (the numbers they usually cite are three or four a year), can we put a moratorium on the rewatch blather for a few months? Certainly, I wouldn’t expect to see the overblown and under-good Interstellar pop up for at least 2 or 3 months, right? Why do I expect that won’t be the case? Why do I suspect this thread may soon fill up with rewatches Cassie just HAS TO DO? All advocated by people that will claim, in the same breath, that rewatches should be infrequent. Unless it’s something they like. Or something they think Cassie liked (but really still just something they like). Or it’s a rom-com. Or it’s a month with more than 28 days.

Just Plain Bob

Here’s one way. Good Will Hunting is a solid movie, but nothing spectacular. Certainly NOT deserving of the praise it receives.

Clarence Newman

And the third place too, in honour of the upcoming Olympics.

mitchhamilton64

ugh, fiiiiine, i guess ill watch good will hunting again. 😁

Mike Lemon

"You can now submit your picks for February..." How? It still isn't accepting passwords (at least mine). "Is everyone excited about the olympics?" No. A bunch of sports nobody cares about and hockey, but that is played by professionals now, so just watch the NHL if I want to see a game. And there hasn't been a "story" in any Olympics, summer or winter, for so long. No curb stomping the Russkies during the Cold War, no Dream Team, no Dan and Dave (what was he thinking?), no Kerrigan getting knee-capped. It seems like the only "story" for the last few Olympics has been 'what flag will the Russians compete under?' Who cares?

Steve Mercier

Good WIll Hunting? Absolutely hell YES!

Joe J

Ditto.

Clarence Newman

Come on, Milt, you can't give me a layup like that. The fact that you don't like Good Will Hunting?.......It's not your fault.

Terdell Ferguson

Mystery, Alaska! Such an underrated gem of a film. Can't wait! 🏒

Clarence Newman

I am older than most people but younger than some buildings.

Terdell Ferguson

💯 on Oblivion. I would also add Elysium (Matt Damon/Jodie Foster) to that mix.

Old As Dirt Bert

Darn. The Day The Earth Stood Still was a far better film 25 years earlier. I never cared for Logan's Run (like most of the critics when it came out). The plastic creations for sets look fake, false perspectives and matte shots (Lincoln Memorial, for instance) were as much as they could do, but didn't fool many. I suspect fanboys either want to see poor Jenny Agutter wearing what looks like a window curtain with a belt and no undergarments, or want to show how campy the "futuristic" movies of the '70s got to be.

JFC

Something to remember going into Logan's Run: It came out one year before Star Wars, and was considered a pretty great sci-fi movie, with effects and production design as good or better than most other sci-fi movies of the time. It was, however, blown out of the water by Star Wars the next year, and as a result it's been mostly overlooked. Just go into it with the bar set at, "Studio produced sci-fi film on par with other fare of the era, with the usual incremental progress of visual effects." as opposed to Star Wars' giant leap forward that was industry and culture-altering.

Joe J

Surprising for sure. Cassie will probably claim it as a non-October horror film, lol.

Clarence Newman

Milt and I have both posted this over on the PaF thread but I'll put it here too. When we entered new films this month, our pick still showed as the January one, but both picks now show in "All picks for February". Methinks a glitch is occurring.

Cody Barnes

Hilariously Scarface was my parents first date movie.

Phil Stubblefield

Uh... You're obviously upset about this subject, Bob. I don't mind rewatches as long as they're clearly marked. If it's a movie I enjoy, then I'll watch the reaction; if not, I won't. Whether it's a rewatch is irrelevant. It's the quality of the reaction and the integrity of the reactors that matter to me. Don't tell me you've never noticed something new and enjoyable when watching a movie for the second time? (Or the third? Or the fourth?) In addition, rewatches can be especially good when the second reactor hasn't seen the film. Either an occasional collab (Cassie & Kat) or a frequent co-reactor (Carly) works for me. I *loved* Cassie's rewatch of the Lord of the Rings with Carly, partly because it was so fun seeing Cassie anticipate scenes that she really liked (or didn't like!) without giving anything away to Carly. So that's my two cents...

Stan the Man

I’m confused, YouTube seems to be getting an edited reaction of Justice League part 2 when the full reaction hasn’t been released for part 2? It was done as an extra butter watch live thing but I don’t think the full reaction has been released has it?

Phil Stubblefield

I haven't watched the reaction yet, Walter, but I absolutely agree with everything else you said!

Clarence Newman

You know i agree with your main point, Bob, but I don't see Good Will Hunting or Interstellar as rewatches. If it's a film Cassie has reacted to on the channel, then sure, it's an ABSOLUTE WASTE OF A SLOT. Ones she's watched pre-channel? Bring them on, but only rarely (once a quarter?) and as long as they're good ones that will bring in the YT numbers. I wouldn't want to see any she has total recall on, but if (like Forrest Gump) she has only a vague memory, I'm going to enjoy her reaction.

Just Plain Bob

Winter Olympics are the worst. Figure skating IS NOT a sport. Luge? We did that as kids - it’s called sledding. Skiing? Makes golf look interesting by comparison. Just one boring event after another.

Just Plain Bob

I’m NOT one of those “production value” guys that needs great sets and costuming and CGI all over everything to enjoy a movie. But, damn, “Logan’s Run” looks like a high school production. One that ran out of money halfway thru, so they got the rest of the costuming and set decorations from the dumpster outside Party City or from the cardboard cartons off the loading dock of the local grocery store.

Ani

i had the same confusion, and was waiting for the next part. Turns out that the original post has been updated with the 2nd part now. So if you go to the Snyder Cut Patreon post, it is now a single video but with both parts included.

Phil Stubblefield

LOL! Although the film *is* relatively famous (infamous?), you're absolutely right about the visuals! 🤣

Clarence Newman

And Cassie. I don't mean to go all monkey on you and pick the nits, but....KatWatchesHorror, not Loves Horror.

bknsty14

You said poppies, but I read puppies and got excited that there would be dogs watching movies with you. We need to make this happen. Popcorn in Bed with Puppies.

Just Plain Bob

Clarence, I admire your consistency. No matter how many times you’re wrong, you just keep plugging along. Like Forrest Gump but without the record of accidental success.

Clay F

"three or four a year" = avg 3.5 per year. I believe last year was 2: Gladiator (2000) (477k views) and Forrest Gump (313k YT views). Great for the channel. I believe this year 5 are planned: GWH, Nolan Batman movies, Interstellar. Thus, last year and this year combined = avg 3.5 per year. No moratorium needed. Yet, I agree wouldn't want to see the number of rewatches get out of hand. But I defer to her as the creator what she thinks is good for the channel and what gets her creative juices going. She slept through Interstellar -- maybe that's why not listed on her Letterboxd.

Clay F

Stellar week. Very happy about GWH.

Clarence Newman

Alas, Bert is spot on. I don't remember much about the film except Jenny Agutter and Farrah Fawcett.

Clarence Newman

I stand by myself, Robert! It's all the company I get. I know I'm right this time, though, on account of the fact that the opposite opinion is yours. Always a dead giveaway.

Clarence Newman

And if Clay is right, and Cassie has 5 rewatches scheduled this year, I think it only feng shui that she round it up to 6 with Unstoppable.

Milton Reduxed

Don't do that, man! Don't you do that!!!

WestBound

Love month is the perfect month to finally watch Your Name

Mike Redford

Scarface. You're an animal, cassie! You've been changed lol. "Say goodnight to the bad guy." I know you'll love robin williams' performance in good will hunting. As a MASSIVE john carpenter fan (Favorite director), I can't wait for escape from NY. Mystery alaska is a lot of fun. Great lineup.

Joel Wayne

I do not get people's infatuation with Interstellar.....I thought it was a waste of time.

Brent Petty

So excited to see the Good Will Hunting reaction! Thank you for picking that one, Cassie!

Joel Wayne

How did Logan's Run win any poll....this is Howard the Duck all over again

Coleton B.

This just in: Lemon hates ANOTHER topic which is widely loved and appreciated. Also, in other news; Water still wet. This and more at 6!

David Freese

No its chapter 1& 2 its about 2 of the 4 hours of the cut.

Just Plain Bob

Ok Clarence, try this on for size. I compiled a brief list of proposed rewatches. My criteria was simple. I like these films. No hypocrisy here. I’m not pretending this is some gift to the other Patrons or an opportunity for Cassie to boost her numbers (although I suspect several would do very well). Those with the notation “with Carly” are movies that I doubt she’s seen. The reasons for others are given briefly. For those that are pre-channel, I presume Cassie has a limited memory. Batman (1989) - time for a reappraisal Shaun of the Dead (solo) - time for a reappraisal Bram Stoker’s Dracula (with Carly) Rear Window (with Carly) Pan’s Labyrinth - pre-channel; question memory that she saw it Strange Brew - pre-channel Godfather 1 & 2 (with Carly) Unforgiven (with Carly) Primal Fear (with Carly) Seven - pre-channel Memento (with Carly) Fight Club - pre-channel Signs - pre-channel; time for a reappraisal V for Vendetta (with Carly) - pre-channel Inglorious Basterds (with Carly) - pre-channel Baby Driver (with Carly) - pre-channel Hell or High Water (with Carly) - pre-channel

Mojo One Thousand

Glad "Mystery, Alaska" is getting a crack. It is more about the season and the Olympics being around, but I also like to think the occasion suggestion pays off sometimes.

David Freese

Its 2 chapters of the story not both parts only 2 of the 4 hours

Geoff S.

Loving the pun titles but my favorite is still “Upcorning”

Just Plain Bob

As for the “defer to the creator”, no kidding. It’s not like I “forbade” Cassie from doing rewatches. I expressed an opinion. She can change the entire format to “Cassie’s House of Rewatches” if she wants. As for no moratorium needed, why not have one. Why have people continue to advocate rewatches of her dance card is full for the year. For that matter, instead of a two or three month moratorium, why propose any more this entire year? Also, it wasn’t two last year, it was at least three. Gremlins got left off the list. PS: If Unstoppable were included we’d already have DOUBLE the amount the number of rewatches suggested by patrons on schedule for the year. And it’s still the first week of February. There will be more suggestions. And the thing they’ll have in common is that those proposing them like those movies; not concern for viewer numbers or any of the other rationalizations that people keep throwing out. How many people have proposed rewatches to movies they HATE? None. Yet they all trot out the same old excuses, as if motivated by altruism. At least be honest. The list I proposed in my previous post had a single criteria: I like them all.

Gray

30 - 50 yr old blokes for the most part would be my guess haha

Shad Kanyak

Any chance The Day the Earth Stood Still is still on your watch list since it was so close?

kaiielle

Joe, most viewers on YouTube are connected with their Google accounts, which pulls age/gender/location and then provides that data to YouTube creators within their analytics. You can read about that here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9314416 You're right that Patreon doesn't have data like that.

Cole Jennett

I’m much more for her revisiting a movie that has never been on the channel before.

Gray

Although i'm more of a Summer fan the Olympics are always a good watch, it's great when your country wins a gold in some niche sport you wouldn't bother watching any other time of the year haha GoT, Fistful & Scarface was a good week. My memory of Good Will Hunting is poor so i'tll be like a new watch for me, always a bonus when that happens.

Ani

just to clarify what i meant. There was a post with the '1st part' of full unedited reaction, which included chapter 1,2,3 of snyder cut. I, like OP, was waiting for the 2nd part of the full unedited reaction(with chapters 4,5,6). But turns out there was no separate post about it. Rather in the original patreon post now the video linked is for all the 6 chapters, all 4 hours combined.

Mike Lemon

@Coleton- Why are you, especially you, replying to me? I'm not allowed to quote Ben, so go talk to him about it and leave me alone.

Byrd N. Hand

"Logan's Run" is *not* in the same league as "Howard the Duck." Admittedly, its art/production design hasn't aged well (nor have some of its VFX), but it's a really good movie otherwise.

Coleton B.

We're all free to reply as we choose. Why are you, especially you, failing to understand this? Why would I talk to Ben? You're not being moderated, although I understand your confusion; You never CAN tell when you're being moderated. Have a great day!

Byrd N. Hand

No 're-watch with Carly' discussion is complete without bringing up "What's Up, Doc?"

Clarence Newman

Well, that’s a decent list, but veto on all the ones she’s already reacted to. Batman would be good, but make it 1966 instead of 1989. Fight Club and Seven, hell yes. Inglorious Basterds, ok. The rest of the pre-channels, I bow to your advocacy. One extra I would add is One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest because Cassie never watched that no how nowhere and it’s a superb film.

Byrd N. Hand

It sure as hell deserved Best Picture more than "Titanic" that year. Then again, so did all the other nominees (it was "Rocky" all over again). 🤦‍♂️

Just Plain Bob

Everybody back off! Clarence has the veto! Kidding aside, even I would make exceptions to things like One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Pan’s Labyrinth and for precisely the reason you gave. I think they fall in that category of “Cassie mistakenly believes she’s seen it.” Hard to imagine her watching either one pre-channel.

Clarence Newman

That one’s an exception, Byrd. Heinous malfunction of equipment robbed us of the original so a rewatch would be kosher.

clutchkman

Logan's Run is a pretty darn cool sci-fi movie, looking forward to it all though and especially the Poppies!

Mark White

Yeah I did try to put mine in this afternoon but couldn’t. I will try tomorrow.

Just Plain Bob

I thought that, early in her YouTube channel’s life, it was actually KatHatesHorror, though I could be wrong.

Mark White

Cassie, you have served up another great week. Scarface was a big surprise and what an iconic movie imo. Good will hunting, great movie and will be a good one for the channel. Should be some good views on YT and Carly will be crying! Got is a tough one. After last week it really got to me! Sansa and Ramsey! 😡 I just felt that was a step too far. That for me was the worst moment. I actually coped ok with the red wedding and other big moments as I felt that despite the Gruesome nature that moved forward the narrative of the story. But I just can’t see why that had to put ‘“that scene” in. Then I read somewhere in the comments it wasn’t even in the book! Why put that in?! To shock people?! It just got me quite mad! It’s the first big step wrong this amazing series has made imo. Im struggling with the thought of watching more, but I also need to know she is going to be ok. The PaF will be too late for me, but the YT live should be a nice evening slot for me, so I’m looking forward to that. Take care You are the best ❤️

Popcorn In Bed

Yes sorry! I wrote that the original had been updated in the full movie all together but it was probably not somewhere visible enought!

Old As Dirt Bert

Hurrah! Cassie just posted her intent to watch the better movie, TDTESS, perhaps in March when there's a little more time.

MikeLL

I don't think many people "got" this one, but I sure do!!

prime78

I'm looking forward to the rewatch and GOT. I like a good movie rewatch, even if you do remember it fully, with Carly. LOTR and Forest Gump did well. I like good will hunting, love Robin Williams in this, but after rewatching it myself, it felt cheesy in some moments, I can't be alone in this can I?

Katie Sivak

Please watch Southpaw, The Housemaid and Hope Floats with Carly

Richard Maurer

Bob - it was “hates horror”. Clarence - she’s progressed to the point where Katloveshorror isn’t exactly wrong.

Richard Maurer

Are people so closed off from anything that’s not super popular that we have to have rewatches instead of just watching something new? I don’t subscribe to this Patreon to watch the same movies over and over .again. I understand some people like them but shouldn’t once or twice a year be enough? For me, there are a ever increasing number of movies, movies I like, that I never want see anyone react to ever again, because they’ve been done by so many reactors they’re boring to watch reactions to them now. Do something new!

Richard Maurer

Never watched Good Will Hunting. So is it any good? :-)

Daniel John

Episode 8 is a banger. At least from what I remember lol. Was hoping for the Shawshank rewatch with Carly but Good Will Hunting will suffice 😜

Steve Smith

Good Will Hunting is an awesome movie. Robin Williams was at his best.

Just Plain Bob

Farrah Fawcett never did much for me. I always preferred her baby sister, Cheryl Ladd. She was sex in human form. And Jenny Agutter is the kinda woman you immediately fall in love with - or, at least, I did.

Just Plain Bob

Richard, in answer to your question “Are people so closed off…”, I think the answer is yes. I enjoy Cassie’s little corner of Patreon but two things are extremely tiresome. One is the love of rewatches. The other is the insistence of some that people should only vote in polls for movies they believe Cassie will like. I watched the Scarface reaction earlier and doubt Cassie has any desire to watch the movie again. I think she appreciated the quality of the filmmaking but didn’t care for the movie. It was still a good reaction and damn sure more interesting than another rewatch.

Joe J

Much appreciated Cassie.

TechJJ

Love Robin Williams, especially his sitcom in the 1980s. For my January Pick-a-Flick I chose "Ice Castles" original 1978 version, in the spirit of the upcoming Winter Olympics. Very little chance of winning I know but if Cassie is looking for a movie in the spirit of Winter Olympics sports, this one is a good one. Highly underrated movie. The 2010 remake has more modern routines and recent stars, but doesn't get to the feel as much as the original. 1978 trailer link for those that are curious: youtu.be/UqJswRe3Rp0?si=xWT6_olJTkt-zOgH

Joel Wayne

That doesn't really say much......every movie is better than Howard the Duck 🤣

Richard Maurer

I just watched her reaction to Scarface. She may not have liked it but she could appreciate it, which is fine. I enjoyed that reaction more than I have any in a while. And you’re right, better than a rewatch, much better in fact. Plus there was the bonus of Kat and Cassie sharing their love for Lord of the Rings, Kat’s favorite movie and still Cassie’s favorite she’s watched on the channel. They both have excellent taste in movies.

My_Cousin_Mose

This seems like petty behavior from a mod. You should be held to a higher standard as it's your job to enforce the rules. If mods are crossing the line or even dancing around it then that sets the example for the entire channel.

Mark White

Bob, you’ve got me thinking now! I know, dangerous! “Proposed rewatches to movies they HATE” Firstly I can’t think of a movie I HATE, hate is a strong word. Also I usually can find something in most movies to like. But it’s fare to say Rom-coms or modern animated stuff are not my favourite genres. “Pretty Women” not a movie I would ask for, but it would do well, so I’m good with that. I’m sure Cassie has seen “Frozen” it’s not for me, but if it got 200k + I’m good with that. Last year I took my friend’s kids to see “Moana 2” it’s was definitely not for me!! But if that’s what the people want, good YT numbers, then I’m good with that. There’s the one my wife loves with the pig and the spider, Can’t remember its name?! Anyway, there you go, not exactly movies I hate, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to watch! Apart from Moana 2! I did go out of my way, but I was given no choice!! It’s was that or tantrums!

Mark White

Yep, I think Cassie and Carly might like Oblivion.

Mark White

I think it’s good. But I also think CR is awesome! 😆

Just Plain Bob

Mark, good on you for being willing to stomach rewatch reactions to movies you hate. I’m the opposite. Despite my list, I don’t want rewatches to pretty much anything. The sole exception is for those movies that I don’t believe Cassie has actually watched, but believes she has. She has been mistaken in the past and been quite forthright in saying she confused something she hadn’t seen for something she had. Otherwise, rewatches suck.

Ted Whalen

I think the Lindsey Vonn come back is a pretty good story. It sucks that she had an accident last week and blew out her ACL.

Clarence Newman

There's an answer to your concerns about continuing with GoT, Mark. You need to treat what's going on in exactly the way your favourite characters do. They're wading through crap most of the time, but they do it because they have a long game in mind. I know the series as a whole provokes polar opinions in regard to where the journey ends up (and please, no discussions of that on here - we're trying not to spoil future episodes for Cassie), but that's not even really the point. You and Cassie have already made it through 5 and a half seasons, with all the heartbreak and loss that's happened so far, so how can you stop before you see how it turns out? It's kind of like me and the England football team. It's so hard to keep watching sometimes, because they *should* win but somehow they never do. But if I stop watching, and they finally win.....what was all the pain and heartache for? Keep going, mate. I'm not guaranteeing success or joy for ANY character or ANY current storyline - you know this show better than that - but what I can guarantee is everything you've experienced so far and more. It's an epic journey, mate. Like Squid Game, you can leave, but part of you will always want to (need to) come back. Best to go the distance with Cassie and experience the whole thing like the rest of us did. One specific point: I agree that the scene with Ramsey and Sansa was horrific. I literally can't think of anything worse than abusing a woman that way. But this is Game of Thrones. Men get routinely flayed alive, prisoners get decocked for the fun of it, women get chucked through moon doors, strangled in their beds and generally treated like property. A lot of it is very hard to watch, but the character building is insane and if ever the term "What doesn't kill me only makes me stronger" applied to a tv show, then this is it. The human spirit is extraordinary, and this show is brilliant at showing that. We see men and women alike get beaten down again and again, only to get up again and again and just keep moving forward. The only guarantee is that literally no one is out of the game unless you set fire to them.

K, Zachary

Dear Cassie and the rest of the PIB family as well as her viewing public. About last week: I admit to being taken a back by Sci-fi polls weeks before Valentine's Day. However Eva ( my gf) quickly put a stop to that thinking. She said maybe she's putting a new spin on Valentine's Day? Maybe she has Valentine's Day already weekend already planned like we do. Now I admit in my lifetime I have seen close to 14,000 movies but had never heard of half the movies on the pre 1980 poll. Fantastic Voyage? the only Fantastic Voyage I knew about was Coolio rapping about in the 90's. Last time I checked Coolio wasn't doing so fantastic. Eva said I would have never heard of those movies because you were never into sci-fi. She reminded me We always have GOT and after 3 years of watching Cassie to just trust her. Besides Valentine's Day weekend we are fully booked. We are seeing Crime 101 on the 13th. Then we are going to see Wuthering Heights on Valentine's Day then we have that dinner. Then brunch with her parents on Sunday. Plus the Olympics. She reminded me that it was about Cassie not about me or the both of us. Fist Full of Dollars, and the Justice League we both loved. Dollars Trilogy being connected to another trilogy which Cassie has already seen. The Week ahead: Game Of Thrones, I see people are already ruining it. We can't say anything about future episodes No warnings, no spoilers absolutely nothing about the episode. Now you could can give her advice. Which I was told to do, however say nothing about the episodes. Good Will Hunting is classic that we own and is listed as one of the best movies of all time. Of course Scarface with Kat who Cassie introduced us to and now she has become a awesome part of my week ( Eva doesn't do horror movies. Her job in the PICU can be sometimes horrible enough) Song Of The Week: Now with Valentine's Day right around the corner I was challenged with finding a song that suits us and not to do Faith Hill / Pearl Harbor OST, There You'll Be because I was singing that at Sharon Tate's grave. It has to be a song that fits us. It also had to be from the 90's. Got it here is Brian McKnight with Back At One: https://youtu.be/PGG0lPOSPYE?si=7baEod8HKz33rnlZ

Clarence Newman

Me too, Gray. I love how invested i can get in rowing or cycling or skateboarding, just because there's a gold medal riding on it. For four years I don't care about most sports, but when the Olympics rolls around, I might stay up till 3am just to watch curling!

Clarence Newman

Yes, somehow Cheryl seemed a bit....realer? Although I loved Farrah (she is in Cannonball Run after all), she was a literal walking barbie doll and unattainable for the likes of me. I could've got a Cheryl Ladd though. I was looking pretty good back then.

Clarence Newman

What we have learned from this thread is that all rewatches should come from my list. Bob is clearly too emotional about the subject so I'm prepared to step up.

Clarence Newman

If I was going to rank those two movies side by side, I would give a fractional edge to Good Will Hunting. Therefore, Richard has nothing to worry about.

Clarence Newman

Yeah. This seems like a totally unnecessary scuffle. It's clearly about history, not the actual post.

Chris Thom

That would be a good one for the channel's anniversary. If she can remember what month and week she started filming.

Chris Thom

Was waiting patiently for that 'little friend' Scarface reference. Less than a day, and right on time! Lol. Personally happy for the Good Will Hunting watch. It's a classic. Hoping you don't remember too much about it, so it will be a genuine rediscovery. Your LIVE chats are ridiculously fun. Kind of wish you'd do one once a week just because. Carly was a nice addition last week. Happy February!

Chris Thom

Housemaid the new one? Been looking for that on Netflix. Couldn't find it yet. Looks entertaining.

Chris Thom

The Keanu version is pretty enjoyable, too.

Chris Thom

Is that about a hockey team?

Chris Thom

Was just watching a compilation of Carpenter hating on other directors the other day and it was kind of hilarious. He doesn't hold his tongue. But he was also honest about his own work.

Chris Thom

The wide eyes and giant grin started to give her away at some point. Lol

Clarence Newman

I'm remembering that moment in Weapons where somebody gets 86'd and their guts fall out. While Cassie visibly recoils, Kat leans forward like a kid seeing a mogwai for the first time, because she's curious about what the entrails are actually made of.

Richard Maurer

No thanks, Clarence. You’re like a politician who wants to get elected a little too much - you just know only trouble will come from it. Now I would be the one who would be good at deciding what should get rewatched, if I wanted the job, which I don’t. Like Bob said I’d first look to movies Cassie thinks she's seen but may not have. And after what they both said about LotR in their Scarface intro, I might have to look into a Cassie/Kat collab LotR double rewatch ……..jk…….maybe. ;-)

Chris Thom

Total guestimation of not much merit. But I might approximate (here on Patreon): 15 percent Gen Z. 35 percent Millennial. 25 percent Gen X. 25 percent Boomer.

Chris Thom

"Who's world is this? The world is yours, the world is yours. It's mine, it's mine, it's mine" --Nas

Clarence Newman

Ugh. My heart. I have taken all the spears and bullets and tazer shots Richard could throw at me over the years and I have stood tall throughout. But nothing could've prepared me for being called a politician. My legs have gone, guys. This might be the end.

Chris Thom

There's some appeal to seeing something they know they love, and we know they love, and just lighting up around something they enjoy. We haven't really seen that on the channel yet, except halfway with Bridesmaids and LOTR. But I do agree with the two month moratorium. Also hoping she'll wait a minute to start another long a-- series after GOT.

Richard Maurer

I don’t like the idea that there are subjects that are taboo for movies. Any topic can be up for discussion, if someone can’t handle it they shouldn’t watch.

Chris Thom

Kind of inevitable. Not that she would choose it herself, per se.

Chris Thom

I kinda love the Dallas mall setting. It's charming. Or maybe it's Houston. Ninety percent sure it was filmed in a fountain in Texas. lol

Chris Thom

Dang it all ends with Cassie world-domination doesn't it. She will be a just ruler (I hope).

Clarence Newman

Actually, I feel that way about the likes of The Holiday and Last Christmas. They obviously know those films very well, but I'd LOVE to watch them with both ladies as a Christmas special. Bob is not going to be happy about this development, but he should take heart from the fact that he has singlehandedly revived the word 'moratorium'.

Richard Maurer

Clarence - So you’re saying GWH is better than Cannonball Run? Talk about your damning with faint praise. Not exactly inspiring me to go watch it. I mean, you’re describing about 99% of all movies.

Clarence Newman

Trust me, Richard. You will like them apples.

Just Plain Bob

Clarence, For the love of God… STOP IT!

Richard Maurer

GWH is one of those movies that whenever I see it while searching for a movie to watch I always think “I should watch that…someday” and then I keep on scrolling.

Richard Maurer

I have a long list of movies I call ‘movies I’d probably like but there’s always something I want to watch more’.

Mojo One Thousand

Kinda of, more about a small town where ice hockey is their life.

Ted Whalen

Gray and Clarence 100% agree with you on watching the Olympics (love the comment about curling). I think one of the things I enjoy the most is watch/hearing about the athletes interacting with each other in the village (I am not talking about the after hours interacting- those are some wild stories). It is just refreshing to see these athletes put politics (and cultural differences) and just enjoy competing against one another. I know that this probably sounds sappy, but it always gives me some hope that others will follow this example.

Mark White

I think Richard was a little harsh on you there Clarence, referring to you as a Politician! What Politician would love Cannonball Run. It’s clearly anti establishment. The one character who could represent a political point of view in the movie, Foyt, is the butt of the jokes! 😆

Mark White

Chris, Bridesmaid’s was a movie I would avoid like the plague before PiB. But how wrong I was! I’m glad Cassie broadened my horizons.

Mark White

I will take anything pre-channel Bob, so I’m good with all. But has Carly seen Fight Club? If not, then that’s my choice.

Mark White

That could be a very interesting list Richard. Care to share a few?

Joe J

Where's the link to the new web page?

Mark White

Thanks mate, I probably will carry on knowing me. It just got to me and spoilt the show a bit. I think Theon just standing there made it worse for me. I just couldn’t do it, no matter what I had been put through, even if I knew I would die. I would still tear Ramsey n*** off!!

Mark White

Totally agree Richard.

Richard Maurer

It’s a list I keep in my head, and it doesn’t really come up until the movies are in front of me, but maybe I can put something together when I have more time to research it.

Richard Maurer

Mark - politicians will do anything for a vote, even pretend to like bad movies. As for Clarence, at least I didn’t call him corporate management, that’s a bridge too far even for me.

Clarence Newman

You're right there, Richard. I'm currently in legal dispute with a corporation over an unfair redundancy a couple of months ago. If I can help it at all, I am never working for a corporation again.

Mark White

That sucks Clarence! I hope you get all sorted out. I’m self employed, due to my last job owners son treated me like S**t. I will never work for a company again!

Joe J

Thanks Mike.

Joe J

Howard the Duck is just silly...but I laughed some and was not bored. I've seen much worse, I'm sure most of us have. When do we get "Earth Girls are Easy? 😆

Joe J

Is Cassie just hoping we'll all forgot about, "Earth Girls are Easy" winning the YT LIVE poll? 😆

N M

Please consider MOONSTRUCK (1980s rom-com) for Valentine’s Day!

Clarence Newman

So that's Fistful of Dollars, which I wanted, Game of Thrones 3 & 4, which I loved, Scarface, which I badly wanted, Good Will Hunting, which I dared not even hope for, plus GoT 7 & 8 which I'm looking forward to. I'm not a fan of superheroes, so Justice League is the odd one out, but for some strange reason I'm finding it hard to be mad at Cassie. Pick-a-Flick is up next and I'm feeling confident.

JFC

The early chase scene with Logan and Francis going after the runner was filmed inside the lobby of the Dallas Apparal Mart, part of Dallas Market Center, a campus of wholesale trading centers. The later scene of the fountains was shot in Fort Worth at the Fort Worth Water Gardens. You’ve got a good memory.

Joe J

Your a demanding customer to please Clarence, lol.

Clarence Newman

When it comes to my wish lists, Cassie is currently running at about 70% hit rate. Not bad, can’t complain, but she’s really slacking on that 30%!

Clarence Newman

Actually that’s rubbish. It’s 1 in 4 average, therefore 25%. I want to see the manager.

Clay F

Clarence -- I share all of your thoughts in your original post, except feeling confident about my PAF winning. But I do feel like a reasonable chance to get a decent movie out of PAF.

MikeLL

This is an idea I can get behind. Totally overdue.

Gray

Yeah i'm not a fan of the superhero stuff either but the rest have been banging, a couple of really great weeks recently. My Rumble In The Bronx winning would round it off nicely lol.

Richard Maurer

I’ve definitely seen worse than HtD. But considering it was made by a major studio and had a big budget (for its time) it was pretty bad.

Richard Maurer

Clarence- You have to remember that Kat’s seen a lot of horror movies, including heavy hitters like The Exorcist, Hereditary, and Terrifier. So she’s pretty used to gore by now.

Clarence Newman

Clay. I'm not confident of my own pick winning, but I do always hope that the winner will have picked a film that I like. Yet to happen, I'm afraid, but I'm always hopeful. And Gray. Before Cassie watches Rumble In The Bronx, she needs to ease in with Battle Creek Brawl.

Tiffany Payne

Total Recall for sci-fi (& no haven't looked yet)

Tiffany Payne

I'd say Honeymoon in Vegas & I didn't see it already

Chris Thom

Agree. Kae just did it on her channel recently.

Mark Vaderr

Is it time for Pick-A-Flick?

Chris Thom

Is Pick a Flick still happening tonight?

SMGalli

Gonna be a good week!

Clarence Newman

Of course the OG! There is no other. And Bob....do not tempt me, mate. Cassie would be happy to do a monthly rewatch of The Replacements with every girlfriend she's ever known if we planted the seed in her mind.

Just Plain Bob

Clarence, with Cassie’s recent declaration that more LAS (long ass series) will dominate the channel, along with her actively seeking rom-coms to react to, rewatches suddenly seem like a not-so-bad idea. Bring ‘em on. I’ll be reading, napping or watching original content.

JoAnna Zeppeda

HI Cassie I'm Joanna, please watch Rambo 4-5 Ty

Florian Zingen

Any idea when GoT 7&8 might be uploaded?

Richard Maurer

Always remember - corporations don’t see their employees as people, you’re an asset to them, until they no longer need you or you upset the status quo, then you’re a debit to be rid off.

Gray

in the live she said possibly sat but more likely sunday as she was watching it after the live.

JoAnna Zeppeda

⚔️🛡️⚔️ who's Gen Z in here? ⚔️🛡️⚔️

Clay F

Not me. My son is Gen Z.

Joe J

I once knew a guy who knew a Gen Z, lol.

Larry Darrell

Did I hear Cassie, in the PaF Live, say that she thinks she MAY HAVE already seen all the good Rom-Coms and Romances already??? 🤦‍♂️You’re killing me, Smalls!!! No Cassie. You Have Not. Here is part 1 of the Ultimate List of Romance and Rom-Coms that Cassie HAS NOT Seen: The 21st Century (All other parts will be each past decade… and they are way bigger than the first part) Juliet, Naked (2018) The Mountain Between Us (2017) Mr. Right (2015) A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014) Before Midnight (2013) Labor Day (2013) Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012) A Perfect Getaway (2009) Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) Across the Universe (2007) A Good Year (2006) Match Point (2005) Before Sunset (2004) Intolerable Cruelty (2003) Just Married (2003) Kate & Leopold (2001) Someone Like You (2001) America’s Sweethearts (2001) Keeping the Faith (2000) To be continued…

Richard Maurer

+1 for A Million Ways to Die in the West. Never really thought of it as a rom-com but whatever it takes to get a reaction to it. I mean, I guess you could call the Naked Gun movies rom-coms too then.

Richard Maurer

Technically a boomer but a couple years out from Gen X. And I’ve always identified more with the Gen X’ers.

Richard Maurer

Bob - Hopefully the rom-com thing goes away after this month - I’d hate to have to leave the channel. Also she announced Andor which is only 2 seasons, not really very long. But I do think series, long or short, are here to stay, for the foreseeable future anyway.

Richard Maurer

I’ve been watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - really enjoying it so far. I think it’s as good or even better than House of the Dragon, and It doesn’t even have any dragons. I like both series better than GoT, for reasons we’re apparently banned from discussing. But that could change, depending on how both these series end……

Richard Maurer

Mike - why are your comments always so negative? ;-)

Clarence Newman

Vicky Cristina all day long and twice on Valentine's.

Clarence Newman

Florian. Have patience! Just like the rest of us who are sitting in the corner, twitching uncontrollably while refreshing our PiB page every 5 seconds. We need it, maaaaaaaan!

Clarence Newman

We're still trying to get her to watch number 2, JoAnna! Your additional voice is very welcome.

Clarence Newman

I do not believe she said that LAS will dominate the channel, and extra rom-coms could never become a mainstay on here. One or two occasionally, and of course she's going to be thinking about them in February. I think she's got the pushing-the-boundaries bug now and is seriously considering The Exorcist. She knows what her people want.

Mike Lemon

I've heard nothing but good things about it. Now I'm waiting for the season to finish so I can watch the whole thing.

Chris Thom

Is it much different in tone or story from the other two shows? It's a prequel right?

Chris Thom

America's Sweethearts sounds familiar. Was Julia Roberts in that? As an assistant to a movie star?

Richard Maurer

Chris - the show occurs between HotD and GoT. it’s closer to the early seasons of GoT, but with more of a sense humor, and less about aristocracy.

Richard Maurer

Clarence - I’ll believe The Exorcist when I see it (for the record I don’t even care if she watches it). I don’t think LAS will dominate either, unless you consider 2 seasons (like Andor) long. And obviously their aren’t even enough “good” rom-coms that Cassie hasn’t seen already for them to dominate - unless she drastically expands what is considered a rom-com.

Byrd N. Hand

I'll add "Happy Accidents" and "Sideways."

Joe J

Like Mike, I'll check it out after S1 finishes. I was not at all impressed with HotD, felt like a very small show in scope compared to GoT. Happy that Andor will be Cassie's next show, then I think maybe she does Picard S3.

Larry Darrell

@Richard - it’s definitely in the vein of Naked Gun, but then the main characters also have some self awareness, which allows for a pretty genuine and charming Romance at the core of the movie.

Richard Maurer

There is a running romance in the Naked Gun (Leslie Neilson / Priscilla Presley) but it’s definitely more absurd than the one in AMWtDitW. But it is a romance, so a rom-com, by a stretch of the imagination. I’m fully aware that I complain when people push highly suspect horror-adjacent films for October, and that is in fact why I’m pushing films like Frankenhooker and Naked Gun as rom-coms. What comes around goes around, so to speak.

Larry Darrell

“Romance” isn’t really a genre on its own, when you think about it. You can have pure comedies and nothing else… pure action without any deep thinking… pure horror without understanding… pure drama without any love. But a pure romance is essentially a drama through and through, but on the subject of love. Romance is most popularly linked with comedies, but you can find great romances in all other more dominant genres. A Perfect Getaway (2009) is another one up there that’s a mix of more than 2 genres.

Chris Thom

Hocus Pocus really was the greatest Halloween Horror movie of all time. You're so right.

Larry Darrell

@Chris - Are you talking to someone I can’t see?

Richard Maurer

Clarence - So your wife hasn’t had time to figure out what a mistake she made?

Mike Lemon

It's crazy, right? I just can't help being the biggest jerk in the world.

Chris Thom

Just watched it. It's so good. Love the split screen of those two in the reflection of Tony's glasses. Nice touch. lol

Larry Darrell

A man called Otto we need a full reaction too, Mcfarland USA you need to watch Kevin Costner, Sports, True Story... Both are suitable for you and Carly and now you need to do A few dollars more!!!

Joe J

My Top 5 most wanted reactions in 2026. No doubt Cassie will get right on these., lol. The Fog (1980) Bloodsport (1988) Under Siege (1992) Pitch Black (2000) The Quick & the Dead (1995)

Richard Maurer

Don’t really care about Under Siege (can’t take Siegel seriously anymore), but I’m onboard for the rest.

Larry Darrell

Part 3 of Ultimate List of Romance, Rom-Coms and Rom-you-name-its that Cassie HAS NOT Seen: The 80s (since the number of films began to increase the farther I went back… and to not be too autistic… this will now be the abridged version… 12 films to a year. ;-) Always (1989) Chances Are (1989) The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989) The War of the Roses (1989) Sea of Love (1989) Valmont (1989) Look Who’s Talking (1989) Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) Weekend at Bernie’s (1989) Her Alibi (1989) Teen Witch (1989) Dead Calm (1989) Mystic Pizza (1988) Heathers (1988) Cocktail (1988) Tequila Sunrise (1988) Dangerous Liaisons (1988) Married to the Mob (1988) The Accidental Tourist (1988) Big Business (1988) License to Drive (1988) Earth Girls Are Easy (1988) She’s Having a Baby (1988) The Blob (1988) Moonstruck (1987) Blind Date (1987) Some Kind of Wonderful (1987) The Secret of My Success (1987) Stakeout (1987) Fatal Attraction (1987) Hot Pursuit (1987) Baby Boom (1987) Broadcast News (1987) Near Dark (1987) The Witches of Eastwick (1987) Mannequin (1987) The Money Pit (1986) Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) Peggy Sue Got Married (1986) Something Wild (1986) Back to School (1986) One Crazy Summer (1986) About Last Night (1986) Legal Eagles (1986) 9 1/2 Weeks (1986) Children of a Lesser God (1986) The Wraith (1986) Sid and Nancy (1986) LadyHawke (1985) Just One of the Guys (1985) Better Off Dead (1985) The Sure Thing (1985) St. Elmo’s Fire (1985) Into the Night (1985) Out of Africa (1985) Murphy’s Romance (1985) Legend (1985) Desperately Seeking Susan (1985) Vision Quest (1985) A Room with a View (1985) Sixteen Candles (1984) Against All Odds (1984) Swing Shift (1984) Purple Rain (1984) Reckless (1984) The Lonely Guy (1984) Falling in Love (1984) Moscow on the Hudson (1984) Revenge of the Nerds (1984) Top Secret (1984) The Woman in Red (1984) Micki + Maude (1984) Flashdance (1983) Valley Girl (1983) The Big Chill (1983) Terms of Endearment (1983) The Man with Two Brains (1983) The Pirates of Penzance (1983) Heart Like a Wheel (1983) All the Right Moves (1983) Class (1983) Spring Break (1983) Rumble Fish (1983) Cross Creek (1983) Tootsie (1982) Victor/Victoria (1982) Best Friends (1982) Summer Lovers (1982) Night Shift (1982) The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982) Cannery Row (1982) Tempest (1982) The Man from Snowy River (1982) Grease 2 (1982) Kiss Me Goodbye (1982) Sophie’s Choice (1982) Continental Divide (1981) They All Laughed (1981) The Cannonball Run (1981) Arthur (1981) Modern Romance (1981) Body Heat (1981) Absence of Malice (1981) Reds (1981) One From the Heart (1981) The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981) The French Lieutenant’s Woman (1981) Endless Love (1981) Urban Cowboy (1980) Seems Like Old Times (1980) Coal Miner’s Daughter (1980) Bronco Billy (1980) The Stunt Man (1980) The Blue Lagoon (1980) Private Benjamin (1980) Atlantic City (1980) Popeye (1980) The Competition (1980) Honeysuckle Rose (1980) Xanadu (1980)

I have nostalgia for Under Siege (with the joke Seagal) and would rather have that than a Van Damme move "A well-directed action thriller that makes the most of its confined setting, Under Siege marks a high point for early '90s action -- and its star's spotty filmography."

Byrd N. Hand

I could never take Seagal seriously myself. 🤷‍♂️

bgb1975 (Brian)

Herbie! Number 53! Another one I grew up with.

Joe J

Taking Seagal seriously is not necessary to enjoy the movie, lol.

Richard Maurer

He’s the “star”, and an action star at that. If there’s anyone that needs to be taken seriously in a movie it’s an action lead.

fire12wife

Mystic Pizza was filmed in the town next to where I grew up! My uncle is actually in the movie! It's Julia Roberts' breakout role before Pretty Woman (1990)!
