Please Google where the "good morning" song is from, and make sure to watch that movie...........you will love it, it's an iconic scene and movie............

Chris Thom

They both watched it for the channel, I think. They just couldn't remember where they saw it.

It's gonna be a GoT kinda morning, with breakfast of eggs, potatoes, tomatoes and onions! Good night Austin, Texas, wherever you are!!

christopher b swanson

correct, except they didnt watch it as a pair, it was Cassie only watching singing in the rain

Chris Thom

Mandela Effect. Could've sworn they were both there for that. I might be thinking of My Fair Lady.

Chris Thom

Sense and Sensibility was definitely, one thousand percent THE post this Patreon were all waiting for last night/this morning. Nothing but hardcore Jane Austen heads up in here. (Lol)

Christian Becker

Ah, back from work and something to watch with Cassie. And what may it be today? Yikes - Sense and Sensibility. But oh wait, there is GoT in the works as well. Oh, happy day! But I think I will wait for the YouTube live for Sense and Sensibility.

Good morning, good morning, you've talked the whole film through; Good morning, good morning, you two! :-)

Exactly. Jane Austen satisfies something Game of Thrones never could, unless Jon Snow took Ghost by the paw and asked to take a turn about the Castle Black while Tormound played the pianoforte.

Chris Thom

I don't really know those references per se, but that cracked me up anyway.

Chris Thom

Wait, what is the significance of the 'hand flex' you two speak of? Is that 1800's slang or something? What does it mean?

Clarence Newman

Just watched this one. Not exactly my kind of film, but I do love watching Cassie and Carly in their element.

They're talking about the 2005 Pride & Prejudice. After Mr. Darcy helps Elizabeth Bennett into a carriage (by way of hand-to-hand assistance), he walks away and there's a cut to a close-up of him flexing his hand, the hand that touched hers. The significance is that it shows just how much emotion and story can be boiled down to just a simple close-up of a hand flex.

No disrespect to the editor who works hard to get all us fans these wonderful videos we enjoy so much, but I think this one is a good example of why if you like a movie, try watching it with the full reaction on a second screen instead of relying on the YT Edit. Obviously not everything can be included for copyright strike reasons, and there's an artistry to cutting the videos that where experience plays a huge role. But if you haven't watched the full reaction you'll be missing out on Carly's shocked face when Edward reappears, the comedy beat where the 3 ladies look at Edward at the same time, missing out on their reaction to Edward's line, "Your friendship has been the most important of my life." And more. Again, not complaining about the edit because it's impossible to keep it all in, I'm more advocating to anyone reading this that it you put off the full to wait for the YT, I recommend the full most ardently. Overthinking such minutiae is price to be paid when it's one of your favorite movies I suppose.

Chris Thom

They do seem extra happy for this one.

Chris Thom

Oh I see. So it was like a signal that he was into her when it maybe wasn't so obvious by the rest of his behavior.

If you guys haven't seen it, you should watch Peaceful Warrior. Please

I posed that question to Matt (the editor) last year for a Q & A when Cassie had him as a guest on Popcorn 2 Go. "How much sleep do you lose because you might've just edited out the ONE LINE fans of the movie love the most?" Matt laughed, and admitted it was truly one of the constant dangers of being an editor. For me, it was the editing of the final scene in Officer and a Gentleman, when Mayo comes to get Paula. Chop, chop, chop, chop, with the music jumping from place to place. What I wanted was that scene to be left complete, but as you say, we don't know the copyright small print. Overall, In Matt We Trust.

PIB edits have always been excellent...my gripe is the length of the edits on many movies. Sub 30 minutes of "actual" reaction is maddening.

Chris Thom

I usually never care about the minutiae of the edits, but every once in a while I really do, and it's always kind of a surprise of which movie.

I think that if I ever win pick-a-flick, keeping in mind that not all get YT edits due to their obscurity or lack of popularity, I think I can plan on doing an edit myself of the movie I pick and then offer that to PiB if they want it. I've already thought about what story beats could be skipped or how to truncate them on the movies I rotate through. Movies like Persuasion (1995), Silent Running (1972), Keoma (1976), Frantz (2016), or The End of the Affair (1999) might not get a YT otherwise. Well, maybe Silent Running would.

I always watch PiB full reactions. Never watch PiB YT edited reactions b/c miss striking content of the reaction and so many nuances (and feel) of the reaction. I make time to watch the full reaction -- easy to do b/c PiB is the only reactor I watch most reactions. If I don't watch the full reaction, then I don't watch the reaction (never substitute the YT edited reaction). With that said, I sampled a few PiB YT edits. Matt does a great job. He is one of the best. The single complaint I had is the iconic line "The horror. The horror." was chopped in the edit to only include the first "The horror."

Joe J

The YT edits are mostly what I watch (any reactor), a few selected full-lengths, just depends on the movie. I watched the full-length for The Day the Earth Stood Still. YT edits have improved and gotten longer across the Reactorverse as a whole, the smaller insert window for the movie I think allows for longer edits without copyright issues, and most reactors follow that approach. Some will use watermarks, etc., whatever works, lol.

The "Good Morning" song is from "Singin' in the Rain." I'm pretty sure Cassie has reacted to that movie; now I have to go back and look. I've only ever read "Pride and Prejudice"' I'll have to check this one out too. Great movie with a stacked cast. Every time Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson were in a scene together, I thought: you two will be married in "Love Actually" several years from now.
