Random trivia - apparently Keanu Reeves' performance after training camp for playing quarterback in this movie was good enough that the Baltimore Ravens actually invited him to tryouts for the team, though Reeves declined due to his movie projects.

Terry Yelmene

"Sure about your 'rule' Anabell?" - then the GREAT 'John Madden' gives the play-by-play of Shane's comeback move to kiss her - "Is this my favorite movie ever?" ~ Cassie "WELCOME to the REPLACEMENTS Dallas" ~ Cassie "Pain heals - Chicks dig scars - Glory lasts forever" ~ Shane Falco "I got chills" "Nominee for Best Kiss!" ~ Cassie "I loved every minute... It had 'sports', 'a happy ending', 'a quarterback-cheerleader post-game kiss'... it was so... FUN!

Mojo One Thousand

With the passing of Gene Hackman I decided to re-watch this as a part of my honouring his legacy, and why not watch it with Cassie. Rest in peace Mr. Hackman, you were a giant.

Annie519
>>166448860

Same! I think this is one of his most underrated performances and he and Keanu Reeves had really great chemistry, you really did feel this sense of bond between player and coach.

Shaun Ganyo

Hey, Cassie, you're the best! Who ya got? Rams or Bengals?

Dave Hill

Looking forward to watching this one, Cassie! Now you need to switch back over to the John Wick series. ;) LOL

Michael Blackwell

Hey Cassie, where abouts are you based? I mean, general region. I'd like to set a clock for your time zone.

Shaun Ganyo

Three names I enjoy: Marvin, Velma, and Provo.

Todzilla

Yes! A Gene Hackman film. Which leads me to Lex Luthor. Hackman played the super villain opposite Christopher Reeve as Superman. Hope Cassie watches that some day🤞 She is watching the Keaton Batman soon.

GamerGal8684

No matter how many people put on the Superman suit, there is only one that captured the heart of everyone and thus is Christopher Reeves. There is a very special film I think you would love. It is called Somewhere in Time. A young Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour. It is a Romantic drama I’ve not seen as good or if for nothing else the music will bring tears to your eyes

tiny baby kitty man

OMG have you watched Major League? This was sort of the football-version of that movie and if you haven't seen THAT then it would be a great way to segue into Charlie Sheen, which then gets us into Young Guns. Was that part of the western bracket? If not, shame on all of us.

djKENTO

The distracting cheerleader scene might be the hardest I’ve seen Cassie laugh on the channel which is super surprising.

Andrew Ramos

Great reaction Cassie! I've probably seen that movie 50 times because it used to show on cable so much but its one of my favorites and glad you enjoyed it just as much.

Rich Mcclure

If you don't like seeing people eat hardboiled eggs, never watch Cool Hand Luke. But a lot of us guys would love to see you react to that movie. You would definitely be crushing on Paul Newman. Then you could watch Slap Shot.

David Bennett

Cassie, I continue to thoroughly enjoy the way you get into a film and react in such a genuine, heartfelt manner. I'm not much a sports fan in real life, but I like this movie and your reaction was wonderful as always. BTW the current record for an NFL field goal is actually 64 yards.

Tara
>>77291580

I love Somewhere in Time and think Cassie would love it too

Dustin Denham

You need to watch Necessary Roughness now. The college version of this.

Andrew Rose

Since you asked during the movie.. Reading the Blitz means he saw a blitz coming from a linebacker or a defensive back in addition to the defensive line and therefore audibled into a run instead of a pass play. Though I'm sure you know that by the time you read this lol. Another fantastic reaction, I think I saw you laugh more in this reaction then about any other reaction I've seen of yours. Definitely a feel-good movie with a lot of comic relief.

Planner

... 65 yard field goal? AFL does 70 metre (76 yard) goal kicks :P The record for longest kick is almost 113 meters, over 123 yards. I'm not much into sports but Australian football just seems more impressive to me :P Still like the movie, and it was a great reaction :) Cassie seems to do nominations for "best kiss", and on those grounds I'd suggest Kids in America (2005) (it has the record for the longest kiss in a movie). It has a montage of famous kissing scenes in it too. It is a bit of an oddball movie though...

Tara
>>77291902

I was also gonna suggest Major League as it’s the baseball version of this movie and I also think Young Guns should be part of Cassie’s Westerns. It’s another good movie for Cassie to dip her to toes into the genre

Shaun Ganyo
>>77290240

You've got the Bengals, and when I asked about it, I picture you shouting, "watch the video, asshole!"

G

It's just a delightful movie. If you love fun sports films, then you also have to watch Major League (1989), Little Giants (1994), Rookie of the Year (1993), Celtic Pride (1996), and The Bad News Bears (1976).

Shawn Kildal

Cassie is having us watch films recently with all this raunchy dancing in it. What's up with that? Great reaction btw! Thank you!

Ike

Well, you’re right! There is something about sports that brings out the best in people and it seems sports movies also brings some of the best reactions. Maybe there’s a connection. [I want the Cincinnati to win, but I think Rams over Bengals] Hope I’m wrong.

Shawn Kildal

This movie was loosely, very loosely, based on the 1987 NFL strike season featuring the Washington football team. I was at the very last replacement players game which was a Monday Night Football telecast. Washington Redskins at the Dallas Cowboys. Several Dallas players, including their quarterback, crossed the picket line, but still lost. The Washington team went on to win the Super Bowl that year. Gene Hackman (the coach in the film) narrated an NFL Film special about that season

Tara

Cassie, did you know Keanu grew up in Canada? He played hockey (of course) and his very first movie role was a part in Youngblood where he plays a hockey player alongside Patrick Swayze and Rob Lowe the movie was filmed in Toronto. I know you have a long list of movies that you want to get to, but since you are a Keanu fan and after watching your Dirty Dancing reaction you are also a Patrick Swayze fan, I suggest you put Point Break on the list to get them both in one movie as well as Speed with Keanu and Sandra Bullock. It was revealed that they both had a crush on the other during filming. Sandra was on the Ellen show and admitted that she kept giggling when he would look at her because he was so handsome and sweet. When Keanu then came to the Ellen show, Ellen played the clip of what Sandra said and he said he didn’t know she had a crush on him and “She obviously didn’t know that I had a crush on her either” 😮 This was such a great reaction! I saw pieces of this movie over the years, but not all the way through and I’m so happy that I was able to watch it with you. I agree with some of the other comments, I don’t think I’ve seen you laugh as hard on any other movie and I was right there laughing with you. It was hilarious and any chance to see Keanu is just fine with me. There is also a movie similar to this about a high school football team called Wildcats. If you ever watch that one, you might catch a few famous actors when they were first starting out. Until next time 🍿

Rose

So hard… but going w. Rams! L.A. has never won an NFL title and 1980 @ Rose Bowl was our last chance to win at home. Redemption.

Shawn Kildal

Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens just a few months ago set the NFL record with a field goal of 66 yards. The previous long was 64 yards.

Brian Jones

Great reaction as always Cassie... Major League and Bull Durham must go on your list immediately. :)

Dirk Rheeder

As a non American, I predict an American team will win! Next sports movie to watch, Moneyball!

Dirk Rheeder

Somehow I have never seen this movie before, or if I have, I have no memory of it :) Thanks for the watch

Darren Hill

From an Aussie perspective my favourite American sports movie is 'The Natural' starring Robert Redford and Robert Duvall.

JediLounger

You clearly like Orlando Jones, understandable because he is hilarious. I highly recommend you watch Evolution (2001), one of the most under rated sci if comedies I have ever seen.

Jon Johns

Cassie, the deaf tight end is played by David Denman, who you might recognize as Pam's fiance, Roy, from The Office. Also, we need a playlist!

Nismo

Fun reaction Cassie-blanca! That cat hiss near the beginning made me laugh out loud! 😅

Patrick Egan

I'm so glad you loved it Cassie, this is by far one of my favorite sports movies for the exact reason you said at the end of your reaction. It's just such a fun movie!

Carol_White

Couldn't get past 15 minutes.

Chris Lüders

Hello Cassie, I mentioned it below, for a very good love story I would recommend 'Pretty Woman'(1990) because suddenly I had to think about the movie. And as another very funny movie with Gene Hackman (Sheriff Little Bill, Coach McGinty) and other great actors, e.g. Robin Williams, I would recommend 'The Birdcage'(1996). It also has something like a love story, after all the whole theme of the movie is love. 😆 I think you would really like both of the movies very much. 😊

Andrew Hogan

Worth the price of admission, lol. One of the best reactions ever. You’d love Cool Runnings and Major League. Had a lot of fun with this one. I wonder if she’s seen Mighty Ducks? In my humble opinion Krista Allen is gorgeous in this movie.

Andrew Hogan
>>77296080

Youngblood might have to be a dark horse candidate in a poll, I’ve mentioned Speed and she wants to watch it.

Joe Aschenbrener

Gene Hackman "Little Bill" from Unforgiven seldom disappoints in his permormances.

Joe Aschenbrener

Please react to Gene Hackman and Will Smith in "Enemy of the State" thanks

MikeLL
>>77291321

Yes you would have to say this has been a great week for Gene Hackman fans, and count me as one. For another sports movie, Hoosiers with Hackman would be great!

Steve Salazar

If you loved this movie, Necessary Roughness is another good football movie, set in college. Almost the same movie, but a wee bit different.

Ike

Whatever happened to Brooke Langton (Annabelle)? I’m surprised her career didn’t take off after this.

Heartfelt

the soundtrack is a mix of Emo and Jock Jams lol

David Crabtree

Great reaction! I've always adored this movie. I gotta say, if you enjoyed this movie, which you clearly did, you have to watch Necessary Roughness from 1991! Also 1994's Little Giants.

David Crabtree

Gene Hackman films I'd love to see you react to (if you haven't already seen them): Crimson Tide, Hoosiers, Behind Enemy Lines, Superman.

David Crabtree

You've already seem a handful of my favorite football movies, like Rudy, the Blind Side, and Remember the Titans. Some more football film recommendations: Draft Day ( with Kevin Costner), Necessary Roughness, Varsity Blues, Little Giants, Friday Night Lights.

Andrew Ramos
>>77324812

It was just a weak plot point to make a story. It doesn't make sense how players represented by the same players union would individually cross and be eligible to play. But like I said, I ignored it because it wasn't really that important.

Damien beatty

I prefer World football (soccer) but I have watched American football on and off since the early eighties with Dan Marino. I say the Rams win 27 to 16.

Jen Barnes

If you thought Keanu was cute in this, you should watch Speed.

Josh Phillips

Loved this movie. Keanu Reeves is a national treasure!

Author Travis Adams Irish

If you like sports, please consider real life dangerous rock climbing films. Free Solo and The Dawn Wall. Both amazing true stories. In Free Solo, there is a love story, and his girlfriend is crazy stressed about him climbing a 3,600-foot cliff without any safety equipment.

Grinznmore

I think I know how Neal Page felt on the bus singing Three Coins in a Fountain. (RIP Gleason ) But hell, I still giggle at a fart or someone getting hit in the nuts. Flintstones, meet the Flintstones... BTO for the Canadian Girl Stripes is another fun Meatball Comedy.

MikeLL
>>77310153

I hope everybody can understand your viewpoint, but also that these sport movies are the guy version of chick flick rom coms (or maybe I mean that these movie are the gender opposite). So if you have ever made a guy sit through a rom com, the least you could do is watch this movie (said with the sincerest sarcasm so you shouldn't take me seriously).

Alan Kobb

I enjoyed your reaction. Recently you've seen a lot of Gene Hackman, the coach, He won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in Unforgiven and another for his role in The French Connection as well as a handful of nominations. He's one of the great character actors with lots of great roles, and always memorable. He made a fun Lex Luthor in the 1978 & 1980 Superman movies. My favorite role of his is one of the best sports movies of all time, Hoosiers (1986). If you want to dip you toe back into the sports movie genre again, this would be an excellent one!

Larry

This movie was so much fun watching with Cassie, loved the comments in bar scenes. 🥰

Michael Lynch

Popcorn: this is the best that Keanu Reeves has ever looked. Me: then apparently you've never seen point break. Only one of the best action movies ever made with Keanu Reeves and Patrick swayze. An absolute must watch.

Sahitya

What a fun movie. Don't think I've ever seen a sports film with a cheerful or raucous moment every 2 minutes

Godzilla Jones

Now you must watch the all time greatest sports movie ever made, Shaolin Soccer.

Michael Threapleton
>>77340142

Hoosiers is the best sports movie of all time. Arguably Gene Hackman's best ever performance (no offence Popeye Doyle). It also passes the "stay and watch" test---when you're browsing through channels and come across Hoosiers, no matter where it is in the storyline, you stay and watch it to the end. I'd never do that with Replacements. What are some of the other "stay & watch" films? I'd include Godfather I & II (duh!), Casino, Goodfellas, Excalibur, Mulholland Drive, and it recently happened with, of all things, Pleasantville.

Billy Poon

SB Pick: Bengals 30 Rams 27. Love this movie, so much fun! "Hoosiers" is a great sports film with Gene Hackman. And "Speed" is another Keanu Reeves film that would be fun to watch!.

Michael Threapleton
>>77336225

Grinznmore, this Neal Page reference might be the funniest comment ever and perfectly summarizes how I feel right now: "Three coins in the fountain, each one seeking happiness".

G
>>77352980

Hahahaha. It's an excellent sports/comedy/foreign/martial arts movie. She needs to watch it.

Michael Threapleton
>>77334459

And also the greatest climbing film of all time (arguably one of the best documentaries of all time) is the magnificent Meru (2015). Free Solo is great, Meru is utterly astonishing.

Erik Daniel

You are right, this movie is just plain fun and your reaction was no different. I was smiling the whole time. I think you liked Jon Favreau's character as much as I did "I got you the ball!!" lol. Now for some 'Keanu is a G' facts. He wanted to do this movie and when he heard the producers were trying to get the great Gene Hackman, but could not afford him, he told them he would take as much of a pay cut as was needed to ensure he could work with Gene. And it was not the only time he did that. Now, I will leave it to the rest of these good people to suggest the other great Keanu films and throw out the lesser known 'A Walk in the Clouds'. My Dad and I loved it. It came right after 'Speed' at a time when he could have taken big bucks to make another blockbuster action flick, but he chose to make a story about a wonderful romance.

Andrew Rose
>>77296126

Not to get too technical but LA did win the NFL championship game in 1951 before there was a Super Bowl. And they won it in St Louis in 1999. Under the circumstances I'm going to have to cheer for the Bengals who've never won an NFL championship and who've been in a playoff drought forever lol.

Brec Evans-Orrell

I’m so glad you enjoyed this movie. It’s a classic funny underdog football movie with off the wall characters. A little something for everyone ^_^

Cole Jennett

I love the “Woof” moment! She has done it once before that I can remember but I’m having difficulty placing in which reaction it was. I think maybe Firefly episode 4 because of Atherton??? Anyways, I almost cried laughing at her disgust😂 I still don’t think this movie is that good, but the reaction is priceless because she had such a good time!

Nismo
>>77375091

Haha, she's done that in a couple reactions. This reaction was the first time she did a cat noise though 😅 She's too funny!

Michael Threapleton
>>77322540

Good question. I'd put Krista Allen and Kari Wuhrer in this same category of actresses who, if the breaks had gone their way, could have been big stars. All three stunningly beautiful and able to act. Each has a very long IMDB list with a lot of minor roles in minor films and a lot of TV. So they can always find work, as they should. Perhaps at the end of the day they couldn't go through with it with Harvey "The Hut" Weinstein.

Terry Yelmene

This video's score = 101% freakin' fantastic! - Sure. The Replacements is fun. Sure, it has the exceptionally well done comeback-kid hero story and irresistible romance story and "us-against-the-world" teammates story, but it's all a bit formulaic. The movie is very good, BUT can only account for maybe 40-45% of this wonderful experience. I believe it's obvious that Cassie's reaction here contributes EVEN MORE than the movie. It's great fun!!! Thanks Cassie-PiB!

Patrick Toscano

Whats trippy is Michael Jace who played Wilkinson (released prisoner) is currently in prison for the murder of his wife.

Jon Freezin-Rain

1) unconventionality 2) Is it time to introduce 'Keanu only does serious movies' Cassie to Bill and Ted? 😎😁😃

Michael J

Like I said on YT. Cool movie. Love The Duck on a Pond, and Quicksand metaphor's,,,, So true... First Patron ever. It was this or Steve Vai for music (guitar.) This channel won, after seeing this & Rocky 1&2 reactions, and a few others also. Fun to see how others outside my circle (where I'm at here) see them. Problem is a lot wont watch them, or wont re watch them with me :/ I tell them, "Rocky 1&2, was actually really good." And they are like "na let's watch something else." Replacements is fun. Saving Private Ryan was good. Hobbit.. A lot of good ones on her list.

Michael J
>>77326013

I only loved Draft Day, Cause I was born in Cleveland. Thus I'm a huge Cleveland sports fan 😉

Sassy68

I love this movie, but Speed and especially The Lake House are special. Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves are magic.

Sassy68

Also, great reaction!

James Young
>>77317309

A bit late on this but this exactly. If you like the Replacements, you will love Necessary Roughness. another group of misfits coming together to form a team. Great characters all around. Don't poll this, Just watch it before Sunday's game.

Rose
>>77751003

So true! Sandra & Keanu are magic. Always hopeful they do another movie again.

Sassy68

Rose, I didn’t know who Keanu Reeves was until my son diagnosed at 16 with a blood cancer. I fell in love with him!

blue warrior

That was a fun watch. I've never seen it before which is surprising. And the dance they are doing is called the Electric Slide.

Stefan

Another “us against everyone “ football story is Necessary Roughness, but Replacements was much better because it was based off the real nfl strike of the 80s

Ryan

Great Flick. enjoyed watching it (again) with the reactions.

Doug Fisher
>>77360181

Loved "A Walk in the Clouds"... such a good movie. It definitely would a hit with Cass and Carly.

David RedEagle

YAY, I was gonna try and watch this a while ago but it was still on that other site. Happy to see you got this and probably more switched over to YT. I love this movie so much, excited to watch along with you.

Rick Williams

Fun movie. Great reaction. I had forgot how good this movie was. Thanks for reminding me, Cassie.
