It seems you enjoyed the martial arts aspect quite a bit. That first fight scene especially reminded me of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), also starring the wonderful Michelle Yeoh. Based on this reaction I think you would enjoy it too. But I'm sure there were some other nods to martial arts movies too. For example that bamboo scaffolding scene brought back some Jackie Chan memories too. Might be worth having a martial arts movie poll one day.

This was awesome as usual. I'm very curious what you two will think of The Eternals, it's quite different from anything Marvel has done before.

John Do

Yes! I've been begging for months for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon to be added to her viewing list!

Stick Figure Studios

Glad to see you both enjoyed this. I was a bit underwhelmed myself (though Michelle Yeoh elevates any film that she's in). Middle-tier MCU for me. Incidentally, I agree with those who say you should watch CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON.

Canadianant

As others have mentioned coaching Tiger hidden Dragon would be great but I would also in in a contrast would be great to see Cassie review something like some Jackie Chan you know still martial arts but completely different styles

Jason Chirevas

I’ll chip in a vote for CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON. Great action, great characters, and an almost fairy tale sensibility.

Rose

Yes - martial arts movie poll! I would esp love to see a Bruce Lee movie reaction on PiB... "Enter the Dragon" pls.

Chris Krajci

I hope you’re doing a watch of the Loki show.

Initially she was planning to just do it as a Patreon only, but has since changed her mind and will release it on YouTube. She confirmed this on the YouTube live for Shang Chi

Loved this one. A martial arts poll could be intersting. If there’s life beyond “Enter The Dragon” and “Crouching Tiger…”my vote is for “Iron Monkey”

Yimou Zhang's martial arts--or martial arts-ish--movies would be my choice (Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Curse of the Golden Flower). My word they're gorgeous.

Was surprised to find much more mention of Michelle Yeoh and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in this comment section than the Full Reaction Comment section. Michelle Yeoh, who played Shang-Chi's Aunt in the movie, is a big Hong Kong action movie star most known in the States for CT,HD, but she also played the kung-fu fellow agent/love interest to James Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies. Would also love to see reactions to some Jackie Chan films. And I for one thought Shang-Chi was a great MCU film.

I haven't seen Curse Of The Golden Flower yet, but House Of Flying Daggers was beautiful, and I absolutely loved Hero.
