So glad I could watch this with Carly, we had so much fun! It was beautiful in more ways than one, it was funny and amazing to look at but also empowering and heartwarming! Hope you enjoy!

This movie was just fun. I feel it was like the perfect movie to just go to for me to just relax and take it in and have a wonderful time. I have been a huge fan of Greta Gerwig since I first saw her in Greenberg (2010), and she is a quite good actress, but for me she really shines at writing and directing. Her stories feel real and lived in and give us those emotions. Frances Ha (2012), Lady Bird (2017) and Little Women (2019) are her most popular projects and they are all of very good quality.

That fact that Robbie was the one making the decision is the only possible explanation for why she wasn't the first choice to play Barbie. She wanted Gal Gadot, but I think we're all better off that she ended up doing it herself.

I'm not going to force myself to watch it a second time, I don't even know how I managed to sit through the movie the first time. For me, this film is a disgrace, with the subject of Barbie it was possible to make a great film. Instead, they chose to make a film as superficial as Barbie, with a subject treated in the worst possible way. It's so abrasive that it destroys all its arguments.. Subtlety is the opposite of this movie.

It's not gonna be as good as seeing it in the theater. Watching Oppenheimer in a theater was an experience just like Dune (2021) and Avatar 1 and 2.

I did. I think most people did as well. It's an iconic scene, if not for the imagery then at least for the music. I have my reservations about BARBIE, but I think the opening scene was very smart by referencing 2001 and was well done.

So fun fast fact. The Inspiration for Malibu Barbie was in fact Sharon Tate. So it's only fitting they got Margot Robbie to play Barbie. No one else could have done it.

I'll watch it for you and Carly,I do love Margot Robbie and I'm one of the odd ones whom never had a Barbie collection♡from building bridges across a jungle river to hunting man eater lions in Africa to Barbie in less than a month,that's some range in movies goin on👍👍😍

So actually I liked this movie, I thought it was empowering and heartwarming. It reminded me of a lot of Pleasantville (1998). You two looked adorable as sisters bows in your hair. I really liked the movie. However I loved your reaction. Good work ladies.

I took my daughters 22/24 to see this. We loved it. They just got me a Kenough hoodie as a thank you. Cassie having PTSD when the Ken's started talking about The Godfather. Lol

Definitely seems like the movie that has not one but two gags in common with Airplane! was going for subtlety. Makes perfect sense.

I watched it for the first time in this reaction. It was different from what I expected and it was very entertaining. I thought the old lady who Barbie said was so pretty at the bus stop would turn out to be the original owner of Barbie and that the mother and daughter would be her daughter and grandaughter, but that was not to be. So in that aspect it was a better movie in my head than it turned out to be. :)

“We fixed everything in the real world, so all women are happy and powerful” Yeah it is just bizarre that anyone would think that the satire is accidental. The movie is more than just satire; it could also easily be seen as a metaphor for girls' journey into adulthood, for example. There's no real debate, though: Gerwig knew what she was doing.

I didn't know that about the Thing; I can understand the Exorcist completely; I didn't think the Thing was that scary myself. I thought Alien and A Nightmare on Elm Street were more frightening, and she watched them both. Thanks for letting me know.

This movie is $24.99 to rent and $29.99 to buy. I will wait till next year when these prices drop before watching this full reaction. I am looking forward to watching the movie. While I am sure the YT edit is excellent, I won't watch the YT edit but instead wait to watch the full movie.

Gideon, I guess there might still be hope for The Exorcist because she just watched The Thing. I might not know much about women, but I know they love changing their minds. After 20 years of marriage, I couldn't get my wife to commit to anything.
